Advancements in Blood Cancer Treatment: Recognizing Symptoms and Utilizing Blood Tests for Early Detection
Blood cancer, encompassing various types such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, poses a significant health challenge worldwide. This informative article provides a detailed exploration of the evolving landscape of blood cancer treatment. From emerging therapies to established protocols, readers will gain insights into the latest advancements that are transforming the way this complex disease is managed.
Tumblr media
The article begins by shedding light on the critical aspect of recognizing blood cancer symptoms. While these symptoms can vary depending on the specific type of blood cancer, common indicators include unexplained weight loss, fatigue, persistent infections, bone pain, swollen lymph nodes, and abnormal bleeding or bruising. Understanding these warning signs can lead to earlier detection and prompt medical intervention, which is crucial for improving treatment outcomes.
Early detection plays a vital role in the successful management of blood cancer. This is where blood tests for cancer detection come into the picture. The article delves into the significance of these tests and how they have revolutionized the diagnostic process. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as biopsies and imaging scans, are often invasive and may not provide immediate results. Blood tests, on the other hand, offer a non-invasive and efficient means of detecting the presence of cancer cells or specific biomarkers associated with blood cancers.
One such blood test gaining prominence is the liquid biopsy. This cutting-edge technique involves analyzing circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) or cancer-related proteins in the blood. Liquid biopsies hold great potential for early detection, monitoring treatment response, and identifying genetic mutations that guide personalized treatment approaches. The article explores the science behind liquid biopsies and highlights their role in improving patient care.
Additionally, the article discusses other blood tests that complement the diagnostic process. These include complete blood count (CBC) tests, which examine the levels of different blood cell types, and flow cytometry, a technique that analyzes the characteristics of cells in a blood sample. These tests aid in confirming a blood cancer diagnosis and provide valuable information about the subtype and stage of the disease.
In the realm of blood cancer treatment, the article provides an overview of the various therapeutic modalities available today. These encompass chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and stem cell transplantation. The focus is on advancements in precision medicine, where treatment approaches are tailored to the specific molecular and genetic characteristics of a patient's cancer cells. This personalized approach has shown promising results, improving outcomes and minimizing adverse effects.
Throughout the article, readers will find real-life stories of individuals who have battled blood cancer, highlighting the significance of early detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment. Additionally, experts and healthcare professionals share their perspectives on the evolving field of blood cancer management, offering valuable insights and guidance for patients and their families.
In conclusion, "Advancements in Blood Cancer Treatment: Recognizing Symptoms and Utilizing Blood Tests for Early Detection" is a comprehensive and enlightening article that equips readers with a deeper understanding of blood cancer, its symptoms, and the critical role of blood tests in early detection. By staying informed about the latest advancements in treatment options and diagnostic techniques, individuals and healthcare professionals can work together to improve outcomes and provide the best possible care for those affected by blood cancer.

The Importance of Pulmonology: Managing Lung Health and Disease
Tumblr media
The lungs play a vital role in our body's overall health and wellbeing, and it's important to prioritize their care and maintenance. This is where the field of pulmonology comes in, which specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the respiratory system. In this blog, we'll explore the importance of pulmonology in managing lung health and disease.
One of the primary roles of pulmonology is to diagnose and treat respiratory conditions. These can include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia. By identifying these conditions early on and providing appropriate treatment, pulmonologists can help patients manage their symptoms and prevent further damage to their lungs.
Pulmonology is also essential in managing more complex lung diseases, such as lung cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. These conditions can be difficult to diagnose and require specialized treatment plans that may involve surgery, chemotherapy, or other medical interventions. Pulmonologists work closely with other specialists to provide coordinated care and support for patients with these conditions.
Another important aspect of pulmonology is the management of sleep apnea. This condition causes interruptions in breathing during sleep and can lead to serious health problems, including high blood pressure and heart disease. Pulmonologists can diagnose and treat sleep apnea using specialized tests and equipment, such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines.
In addition to treating respiratory conditions, pulmonology also plays an important role in preventative care. Pulmonologists can provide guidance on lifestyle changes that can improve lung health, such as quitting smoking, increasing physical activity, and avoiding exposure to pollutants and allergens.
In conclusion, pulmonology is a critical field of medicine that plays a vital role in managing lung health and disease. By working closely with patients and other medical professionals, pulmonologists can help identify and treat respiratory conditions, prevent further damage to the lungs, and improve overall health and wellbeing. If you're experiencing respiratory symptoms or have concerns about your lung health, don't hesitate to reach out to a pulmonologist for guidance and support.

Black Lungs (NSFW)
FT Eunha
Tumblr media
Author's note: Light on smut/a bit of angst. Wanted to try something a little different for this piece
Crash woke up from his first pleasant dream in years. Eunha was nestled in tightly. Her physical warmth was pleasant but also sweltering and suffocating. Crash loved it. As he began to stir he was surprised when Eunha moaned, and that's when he remembered his cock was buried inside at her insistence
“I want you to leave it inside so I can get used to your size,” Crash recollected. He smiled at her completely enraptured by everything about her.
However, he did have a previous engagement with Haseul and her friend today so he pulled out of Eunha causing her to moan again, and tightly latch onto him. Crash miraculously fought his way out of her grip and began getting his go-to armor ready.
“Where are you going?” Eunha inquired as her lurid gaze loomed over her prize.
“I agreed to help Haseul and Hyeju get through Aphelion's Rest today since they have been trying to update their gear because they don’t know when the next big threat is coming,” Crash explained. Eunha pouted she wanted more time with Crash as she only felt like she barely broke the surface about him, and he promised her breakfast in bed that day.
“What about our plans for Today?”
“I am a man of my word and don’t you worry. I will deliver on everything I promised you yesterday,” Crash responded
Eunha pouted further as she said, “Can't you cancel or postpone?”
Crash smirked as he replied, “I could have last night but I was busy buried between someone’s thighs last night being told “Don't you dare stop” and then when I remembered I was told, “Focus on me,” as I was being suffocated in someone’s tight pussy,”
Eunha blushed as Crash spoke, “I’m sorry about that I just don’t know what came over me last night. When you surrendered to me I just had to have you,” she responded. Crash smiled as he kissed her forehead
“No worries. I like feeling wanted hopefully I can give the same feeling tonight albeit less lewd and more chaste.” Crash responded as Eunha smiled before saying to him,
“Okay then but hurry back because if you don’t I can’t guarantee what you’ll come back to. I might just pounce on you again.”
Crash smiled as he finished putting on his armor before leaving. As he flew to the dream city his ghost Sashimi said to him,
“I told you Eunha liked you,” Crash rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, you told me that when I first met her. when we were neck deep in the Doomsday scenario,” he said as he monitored his ship’s gauges and levels.
“Yeah but you’re guardians there is always a doomsday scenario, and what is that phrase you are saying?” Sashimi asked
“You better get busy living or get busy dying,” Crash said focused as they neared the dreaming city’s orbit
“Exactly! now preparing Transmat,” Sashimi exclaimed. Crash landed and used his Sparrow to reach the rendezvous location. Despite Crash’s best attempts to be there on time, he was still several minutes early so to compensate he rushed through the Legendary lost sector a few times so he could remember how to teach it. After that Haseul and Her friend a fellow awoken with raven black hair arrived. Her piercing gray eyes bored into Crash making him wildly uncomfortable but he hid his misgivings and discomfort well.
“So what did you need help with?” Crash asked
“Builds. We want help on armor and mods because you are our lost sector specialist and have been reliable in your build advice.” Haseul explained courteously. Crash nodded and then asked to see their build stats through their ghosts. When he saw stat distributions and mod allocations he almost pooped a blood vessel.
He chose his next words with extreme caution,
“Can I ask why neither of you have 100 resilience? Especially you Hyeju a fellow titan.” Hyeju and Haseul looked at him concerned. Hyeju having felt the most attacked by his question asked why?”
“Hoping not to offend them he explained the benefits of 100 resilience and the opportunities it helped create. The girls nodded and presented him with all of their gear and that's when he noticed the spikey armor they had stat-wise to where even without exotics they could easily have triple 100 stat builds. With that in mind, he took out his tools and inserted a base suit of mods who tutored their styles for Haseul he gave her a basic support warlock build (having studied warlock extensively before mastering his titan abilities) and helped Hyeju with a powerful grenade build. After that, he made sure that they had the proper weapons for the champions in the lost sector before letting the two guardians take turns running through the lost sector.
Roughly two hours later, both women had garnered over seven exotic engrams. As they waited for the engrams to decrypt back at the Tower, Haseul turned to Crash with a curious look. “So, Crash, how did you meet Eunha?”
“Oh, Eunha never mentioned it?” Crash responded, a slight smile playing on his lips.
“Well, we’ve been busy since then,” Haseul replied with a shrug. Crash nodded thoughtfully before beginning his tale.
---
On a random Sunday, while Crasilior was preparing to run legendary lost sectors, a young Hunter approached him.
“Excuse me, I’m looking for one more person to help my fire team do a raid. Please,” the female Hunter said, her eyes pleading as she stared at the intimidating Awoken Titan. Despite his dislike of the Root of Nightmares raid, Crasilior saw the desperation in her eyes.
“Okay, I’ll help,” he replied.
“Great! My name is Eunha. What’s yours, stranger?” Eunha asked with a hopeful smile.
“I don’t have one, but my closest ally calls me Crasilior,” he responded.
Eunha raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Really? That’s not gonna work. I’m calling you Crash.”
“Eh, I’m more of a Fist of Havoc guy,” Crash said, trying to keep a straight face.
“Hahaha. Okay, Crash, you’re pretty cool,” Eunha said, smiling broadly.
As Crash finished his story Hyeju looked intrigued. “That’s it?”
“Well, yeah. I know all about not having enough people for a raid, so I decided to help. Especially since that’s where my mentor Riddick died. I don’t want anyone else dying there, even if it’s just a paracausal temporal anomaly revisit,” Crash explained. Haseul and Hyeju were taken aback by how casually he mentioned something so personal, but Haseul remembered how Crash often shared melancholy thoughts in a deadpan tone.
“Well, it’s been fun, ladies, but I have a date with a very hot Hunter,” Crash said, standing up.
Haseul was shocked. “Wait, wait, Crash, who’s waiting for you at your place?”
“Oh, Eunha,” Crash answered nonchalantly as he headed back.
When Crash got home, he opened the door to find Eunha eating one of his cinnamon rolls. He quickly closed the door to keep her hidden and apologized for being late. Eunha smiled, charmed by his sweetness. As he changed and showered, she watched him begin to cook a full breakfast—omelets and pancakes. Once he was done, he walked over to her with a plate and a warm smile.
“I promised you breakfast in bed. Come on,” he said, leading her back to the bed. Eunha groaned playfully as they settled in.
“So, how are SinB and Umji?” Eunha asked between bites.
“Uh, they’re good, I guess. I should probably reach out today and tell them I’m coming home tonight. I would ask about your fire team, but you’re kind of a loner,” Eunha teased.
Crash shrugged, a faint smile on his lips. As they lay there, comfortable and content, Eunha realized that despite all the comfort and care Crash brought her, she would always yearn for something more exciting. She thrived on the edge between life and death and staying with this lovable, dorky Titan would only break his heart. But that didn’t change her feelings for him.
“You’re so cute when you’re content,” Eunha said, smiling. Crash recognized her expression and grew suspicious.
“You’re about to say something backhanded, aren’t you?” he asked warily.
Eunha shook her head, her smile fading. “No, I like seeing you at peace. But I don’t think I can be with you like this,” she stammered.
Crash’s heart sank. “Okay then, can you explain what you mean by that?” he asked simply.
Eunha took a deep breath. “Crash, I love you, but I need the thrill of the fight, the edge of danger. I’m afraid that staying with you, I’ll lose that part of myself. And I don’t want to hurt you. You fight for veneration, honor, and valor. You fight to gain insight, to refine yourself. I have and always will respect that but that isn't me.”
Crash looked puzzled. “You do remember how I was courted by Xivu Arath and that whole fiasco, right?” he questioned.
Eunha laughed, recalling the time when Crash got The Wicked Implement and started seeing visions of Xivu Arath. As much as that was a fun stretch with the Frozen Emperor of Doom, she knew that wasn't who Crash truly was. Crash was kind and gentle. To use an old Golden Age analogy, he was a soldier who had found peace in a garden.
“Fair, but she courted you because despite every setback, despite every monster, you came back stronger, but most of that came with wisdom.”
Crash began to understand Eunha’s meaning but wasn't fully convinced. “I mean, I can go full Shotgun ape if that's what you prefer?”
Eunha shook her head. “You are the regal warlord who studies art and battle. I can't be your queen. If that makes sense.”
While her words were confusing, Crash understood her meaning through tone and body language.
“So, what do we do now?” Crash asked. Eunha was relieved at how well he was taking this.
“Wow! You are taking this better than I thought you would, but to answer you, we stay friends, of course,” Eunha said as she got up from the bed. She paused, a thoughtful look crossing her face.
“There’s something else, Crash. I want to give you a real name. One that isn’t just a nickname or a slur,” Eunha said softly.
Crash looked at her, surprised. “A real name?”
Eunha nodded. “Yes. You deserve more than just ‘Crash.’ or that slur Delindrin calls you I’ve been thinking about it for a while. How about…

Saul silva x teen!reader - safe now
Tumblr media
Hello. Could you please write a Saul Silva xTeen reader story where the reader is outside the barrier, encounters a Burned One, and gets attacked, and Saul saves them? Maybe reader got scared and is not one of the best specialists. Anyway, can you using the new prompt list, number 85? Thanks - Anon💜
85: “You’ll be safe with me.”
You knew the rules, you knew that you weren’t supposed to be out this far, but it was the only place that you were able to train in peace.
You wanted to get better at fighting, you wanted to be able to do everything that all the other specialists could do, so you spent most of your free time there just training.
You had never had a problem with anything while you were this far out, so when you heard the sound of running towards you it put you on high alert.
Turning around you tried to find where the noise was coming from.
That’s when it came running out of the trees and directly at you.
You barely managed to dodge the burned one, and you jumped back to your feet, raising your sword with shaky hands as you looked at it.
You weren’t anywhere near as fast as the creature, so you knew you wouldn’t be able to out run it, your only hope was to try and fight it instead.
But you couldn’t fight it either, so you spun around, heart pounding in your chest as you tried to run back through the trees, hoping maybe they would slow it down enough so you could at least hide somewhere.
Luck however wasn’t on your side, you felt the pain go right down your side, sending you tumbling to the ground.
“(Y/N)!”
Silva had been tracking the burned one, so he knew it had come this way.
He swung his sword, wounding the creature and it jumped from you.
Silva stood over you, then lunged for the creature again, this time it lunged back but missed.
Something else seemed to catch its attention because soon it was sprinting away and he cursed, quickly turning his attention back to you as he pulled his phone out.
“Hey, hey look at me.”
You turned your gaze to your headmaster, tears in your eyes as you tried to get up, but he wouldn’t let you.
He quickly stuffed his phone back into his pocket and he pulled something else out.
“Here.”
Silva lifted your head, getting you to drink from the small bottle, then he turned his attention to your injury.
“Alright, it’s not that deep. Can you walk?”
You let out a sob, shaking your head.
“No, no, no, please… it hurts sir… it’s hurts…”
Silva sighed softly, placing his hand on your forehead.
“I know, I know it does (Y/N) but we can’t stay here, it’s not safe.”
You shook your head, turning your gaze away from him.
“I.. I don’t… I don’t want to die…” you cried.
“You’re not going to die, you’ll be up in no time.”
Silva looked around, clearly you weren’t going to be able to get up by yourself, and he didn’t think you were going to be able to walk very far either.
He grabbed your sword, placing it over you and he swiftly picked you up, making you cry out in pain, then took your sword from you just in case he needed it.
“Make it stop…” you cried.
Silva looked down at you.
He knew the pain you were going through, he knew how much it burned and how much it hurt, and he hated the fact that right now he couldn’t do anything to help you.
He kept jogging, needing to get back to Alfea as soon as possible.
“You’re going to be alright, don’t worry.” He said gently.
Silva still had some distance to go until he was back at Alfea, but he’d managed to stumble across a road, so he sent his location.
They could get here a lot faster then he could get there, so he slowly sat you down next to the road, resting your back against him as he held your side.
“Nearly there…” he whispered.
You sniffled, shaking your head.
“It’s not.. it’s not safe…”
Silva let you take his hand and hold it tightly in yours.
“You’ll be safe with me.”
You slowly nodded your head.
“I’m so sorry… I’m sorry…”
“Hey stop that. Stop saying you’re sorry it’s not your fault. You couldn’t have known.”
You just let apologising and there was nothing he could do except sit there and hold you, trying to apply pressure to your wound.
“You’re going to be just fine…” he whispered.
You rested your head back, letting out small cries of pain.
Sometimes you would still attempt to get up but you were quickly stopped so you didn’t hurt yourself anymore than you were.
It wasn’t long until a familiar car pulled you and Silva helped them put you in the backseat, rushing you back to the school where they could stabilise you for the hospital to help more.
If they didn’t find the burned one and kill it then you’d die, if they didn’t sort out your side then you’d die as well.
As silva looked at you, blood standing a good amount of the hoodie you were wearing, and your hands trembled, tears falling down your face, he knew there was a good chance either way you’d die.
He didn’t tell you that, but going by the heavy silence that filled the car, he wasn’t the only one he knew this.
He wasn’t sure if you knew, but he wasn’t going to tell you, because you were scared already and he didn’t want to scare you any more.
So, he held your hand, reassuring you that you weren’t alone, that he was there and that you were safe now and everything was going to be alright

If you could change or insert one aspect of the common pop culture picture most people have in their heads when they think about ATG what would it be?
I'm going to jump this in the queue because I can answer it swiftly, but also because I have TWO things that are personal pet peeves.
FIRST: That "historians" keep insisting Alexander and Hephaistion were "just good friends" in the face of obvious evidence to the contrary.
SECOND: Alexander called Hephaistion his Patroklos (to his own Achilles), and they used this comparison frequently throughout their lives.
So, let’s take on the “Fake News,” shall we?
The notion that "historians" keep insisting Alexander and Hephaistion were "just good friends" in the face of what would seem clear evidence to the contrary is over 50 fucking years out of date.
Are there “historians” out there who say that? Sure. But they tend to come in two flavors: 1) people who aren’t specialists, Hellenists, or even historians,⸸ or 2) Greeks.* Since Badian, Green, Hamilton, and Schachermeyer (et al.) took over Macedonian/Alexander studies mid-century, few specialists claimed Alexander and Hephaistion couldn’t have been lovers, or Alexander couldn’t have been attracted to men. Even Hammond cagily acknowledged it.
Yet—TBH—I don't think those who repost that meme really care. They just want a convenient strawman/whipping horse to make them sound "smarter than the experts."
You don't. You sound as if you haven't read much about Alexander since about 1975. Historians who have died of old age by now said Alexander and Hephaistion were probably lovers.
Tumblr media
But that raises another problem: the implication that anybody who might argue they aren't lovers must be an old, white homophobic dude. Again, this is wrong.
The current discussion centers more on source problems, and separates Alexander having male lovers from Alexander and Hephaistion being lovers themselves (not the same thing, actually). Those making the best argument for caution are young, very much not homophobic (but absolutely brilliant) women (e.g., Sabine Müller). Follow the link to see a picture of Sabine, if you don’t believe me. I don't agree with her, but you can't shoot down her argument by screaming "Homophobe!" at the top of your lungs. The points she raises are all good ones and any responsible (and smart) historian will take them seriously.
As for the Alexander-Achilles/Hephaistion-Patroklos pastiche… yeah, sorry, no.
I realize this torques off folks, as it’s become a mainstay of queer culture surrounding Alexander as a gay icon and owes more than a little to Miller’s The Song of Achilles.
Busting it probably makes me sound like a Grinch.
BUT…the facts just don't support it. Yes, Alexander compared himself to Achilles--but not as much as to Herakles and Dionysos. Not even close.
How do I know? I COUNTED THEM. Facts ... not impressions.
After all, looking closely at what the sources (not impressions) actually say about Hephaistion is how I came to the conclusion the man was a lot more important than heretofore recognized. 😉
Again, as I’ve said elsewhere, Alexander did compare himself to Achilles. That’s not in dispute … it just wasn’t as frequent or common as modern fans like to pretend. And Hephaistion was compared to Patroklos only twice. There’s also a problem with WHO made those comparisons: chiefly Arrian. Again, I’ve talked about this elsewhere, so won’t go over it again.
Yes, I made the comparison myself in Dancing with the Lion: Becoming. But it concerned one circumstance near that book’s end (not giving spoilers), and isn’t something they harped on otherwise. That mirrors how it appears in our sources: it’s limited, and situational.
“Patroklos” was not Hephaistion’s nickname. Wish folks would stop claiming it was.
—————
⸸ Just because somebody is tagged “historian” on a History Channel special—or his own private blog—doesn’t mean they actually have a PhD, or even a Master’s, much less one in ancient history, Classics, Classical archaeology, or ancient art history. The number of idiots on Tik-tok yapping about how Alexander thought this or did that—and clearly know jack shit—routinely stuns me…even while it doesn’t. Dunning-Kruger Effect all over the damn place.
* Greeks must often work within the confines of official narratives in order to secure jobs and funding, which can limit what they say on certain topics, from who’s buried in “Philip’s Tomb,” to the Greekness of the ancient Macedonians, to any possible homosexual “taint” staining Alexander’s greatness. This may swim against the current of academic discourse outside Greece, even by other Greeks. The Greek Ministry of Culture and Sport has softened on some of these topics in recent years, especially as LGBTQIA rights have gained better traction in Greece.
