Survivor Mercs Bullet Hell: Native Linux Port Still Coming

Survivor Mercs bullet hell twin stick shooter game will keep to Verified for Steam Deck and Linux via Windows PC for now. Straight from the creative minds at Wolpertinger Games. Available on Steam Early Access with its Positive reviews. Survivor Mercs bullet hell twin stick shooter has officially hit its one-year mark in Early Access on Steam. Over the past year, the game has really grown thanks to five huge updates that have added new maps. While shaking up the gameplay mechanics and improving the overall experience. Each of these updates has makes the title more fun and engaging. Also showing just how powerful Early Access can be when developers listen to their community. And as such, we have further details regarding the native Linux port:

We do want to bring Survivor Mercs to Linux, but we are focusing on other things during the remainder of Early Access first.

Survivor Mercs is already fully SteamDeck verified, so it runs smoothly on Proton and could work well with Wine too. Built with Unity 2022.3, the developers still have plans for a native build as Early Access moves forward. Let’s break down some of the big updates that have shaped the gameplay so far:

Major Update 1: Waste Land

This update dropped a brand-new map called Waste Land. It’s a giant, heavily guarded landfill run by M.E.G.A.-Corp. If you’re up for the challenge, you’ll be infiltrating this dangerous zone, fighting off the GriftLift drone, and taking on some pretty intense boss fights. The Survivor Mercs update also introduced rare building parts to the bullet hell, while that letting you upgrade your bunkers. Also giving you more reasons to dive back into the action.

Major Update 2: Operation Overhaul

Here’s where community feedback really kicked in. Operation Overhaul revamped a bunch of core game mechanics and added mini-bosses to all maps. Along with new enemies, we got a new mercenary, Hogshead, who’s a total powerhouse. Explosive barrels were added to the maps, adding an extra layer of strategy to combat. Plus, mercenary abilities got a nice rework, making squad dynamics even smoother. Oh, and loot recovery runs became a thing—always fun!

Major Update 3: Evolution

This update was a game-changer (literally). The new Genome Lab 2.0 gave us more control over our cloned commanders by letting us pick specific traits, leading to all kinds of awesome squad builds. The update also introduced new traits and strategies, so players could configure their squads with more options and synergies. More customization, more fun!

Major Update 4: Boot Camp

Boot Camp introduced an operation mode where you have to prove your worth in the Proving Grounds before jumping into elite operations. This Survivor Mercs update also fine-tuned early - bullet hell game mechanics. Giving newer players a smoother start while offering intense challenges for veterans. Commanders also got new bunker rooms and gear to unlock, along with fresh traits to play with.

Major Survivor Mercs Update 5: the bullet hell Arsenal

The most recent update, Arsenal, added something everyone’s been waiting for: direct control over active weapons. From the Leaf Blower to the Quaker Hammer, these new weapons also help you manage the hordes of enemies more effectively. The separation of Dashes, Traits, and Weapons really lets you build your squad in new ways, making combat more strategic and giving you more control over the battlefield. Each of these updates has made Survivor Mercs more complex and rewarding bullet hell twin stick shooter. But this title is still a blast to play. Early Access has allowed the devs to work closely with the community. Constantly tweaking and improving things based on feedback. And with more content on the way, including new features and systems, it’s clear the devs are committed to making it even better as it heads towards its 1.0 release. If you haven’t jumped in yet, now’s the perfect time. The title is only getting better with every update, and it’s exciting to see what’s next. Suzuki: -training extra hard and barely got any rest as she is unaware she is not feeling well-

Jared: -walks in with Leo-

Leo: Sis you been training all day come back inside

Suzuki: o-okay just- -wobbles a lil as she walks and starts to fall over- Jared: -reacts quickly and catches her and feels a bit of heat come from her and feels her head- Suzuki how long were ya in this state

Suzuki: I dunno.... I dunno really....

Raph: -realizes that his cold got onto Suzuki when he was getting better last week- oh shell... oh man... did i-

Leo: -looks to Raph- Raph Raph: I... I

Jared: Raph... its okay... alright ya didn't know

Raph: -breathes in and counts to 5 and the breathes out counts to 5 again- okay just get her inside

-later inside- Suzuki: -wet rag on her forehead as she wakes up from passing out- uggh did I pass out

Raph: uhhh....you did but- eh heh I may of given ya my cold.... ^^; my bad

Suzuki: .w.;;;; Raph.... I am so gonna hurt you when I get better

Merrick: ahh yea Mikey mentioned you were a drama queen when you were sick to the bone

Raph: .w. how?? Merrick: .w. he told me he recorded it all on camera while you couldn't do anything

Raph: MIKEY!! Mikey: O_o whoops gotta go -runs outside-

Suzuki: -eating the soup- ^^ Raph: -sighs in relief thanks to kimiko teaching him- hey... about that argument we had the other day when I was sick.... ya sorry I wasn't paying attention at my condition and I got ya sick

Raph: right uhm just relax and rest okay

Suzuki: alright then

-later that night-

Raph: -looks over to her to make sure she's okay and such-

Merrick: -walks on over- Raph Raph: hu?? oh hey uh... whats up??

Merrick: shouldn't ya be asleep -notices- ahhh I see... you been making sure she's alright

Raph: ya.... pendence from... okay ya notice why suzuki have her hair covered on her eye...

Merrick: its because when both of you were kids ya blinded one of her eyes...

Raph: how did you-

Merrick: Suzuki told me a year ago... she told me if ya brought up that incident well she did tell you were gonna bring it up

Raph: sigh yea... I had the feeling... I was a huge hot head back when I was a kid... and since that incident I been keeping it to myself for a while now... specially the hell we been through as we got older,,, like when Suzuki got married to Appalo.... and when she had her kids and me being the tough uncle.... sigh the thing is we all have our own regrets.... do ya have any regrets??? Merrick: as a matter of fact.... I do... when eggman was still around as I got older I wanted revenge on eggman for what he did to me when I was 6... yet so many times in times I wanted to kill but my instincts said no and let him live... because I knew that someone called first dibs... that would be the ex-stealth assassin now head bounty hunter razor the hedgefox.... he rescued my twin brother from getting robotized well during the op of it anyways because he was working with the first sniper bridgade squadreon.... Seraph the ex-medic now doctor of all hospitals was part of that op... I thank them all for it.... but at the end when eggman been killed I was at peace... so yea..

Raph: whys that on the part of not killing eggman?? Merrick: tribal instincts thats why I was born tribal got me wondering if ya gonna notice the tribal tattoos on me so yea

Raph: I see...

Merrick: well on the bright side she should be a lot better by morning... my grandma's special herbs works wonders ya know... so don't worry and get some rest okay

Raph: alright then

Suzuki: -yawns as she gets up from the couch as she is a lot better and walks to the kitchen-

Raph: -reading a news paper-

Suzuki: -walks on in-

MEGA MAN ZX - M.E.G.A. SYSTEM ONLINE(Bio Metals)

Mega Man ZX é um game de ação ao melhor estilo Metroidvania que a Capcom lançou em 2006 para o Nintendo DS. Os eventos de Mega Man ZX se passam 200 anos após o término da série Mega Man Zero, que culminou com a destruição definitiva do Dr. Weil e de Ragnarok em Mega Man Zero 4. O maior diferencial de Mega Man ZX é poder escolher entre um herói masculino(Vent) e outro feminino(Aile), que controlam o Biometal “X”, Girouette, por outro lado é um NPC, e é detentor do Bio Metal “Z”. Tirando isso, a jogabilidade de ambos Vent e Aile é a mesma. Devido ao sucesso de Mega Man ZX, uma sequela foi criada em 2007, denominada Mega Man ZX Advent, e em 27 de fevereiro de 2020, Mega Man ZX foi relançado como parte de Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, para Windows, PS4, Nintendo Switch e Xbox One. 

Gameplay

Vent e Aile usam o M.E.G.A. System (Meta-Encapsulated Granule Awareness SYSTEM), conhecido como R.O.C.K. System (Rebirth Of Crystallized Knowledge SYSTEM) na versão japonesa, para ativar os Bio Metals e se transformar em uma forma semelhante na qual o Bio Metal foi baseado. O Player inicialmente usa o Bio Metal "X", inspirado no Mega Man "X", enquanto o Bio Metal "Z", inspirado no herói principal da série Mega Man Zero, é exclusivo para Girouette até certo ponto do jogo. Ao fundir os Bio Metais "Z" e "X", Vent e Aile assumem a forma de Mega Man ZX, ganhando novo poder, em consequência disso, o Bio Metal “X” não pode mais ser utilizado, sendo disponível novamente apenas depois que jogadores finalizam o game nos modos Normal e Hard com os dois personagens. Os Bio Metals “H”, “F”, “L” e “P” são inspirados em Sage Harpuia, Fighting Fefnir, Fairy Leviathan, e Hidden Phantom, e podem ser adquiridos dos Pseudoroids, garantindo aos heróis habilidades extra-especiais. 

O Bio Metal Secreto “OX”

Para quem gosta de desafios, Omega, de Mega Man Zero 3, reaparece em Mega Man ZX como chefe secreto. Derrotá-lo não é uma tarefa simples, pois os pilares de energia que ele utilizava em Mega Man Zero 3 para se defender, em Mega Man ZX, o safado utiliza como adicional para restaurar a vitalidade dele. Derrotar Omega é essencial para adquirir o melhor Bio Metal do game, o Modelo “OX”, que possui Overdrive infinito, desde que que o jogador não seja atingido pelos adversários, e muitas das técnicas usadas com este Bio Metal são similares com as que Zero utilizava em games passados, como por exemplo, Mega Man X4, em que ele utiliza o Ryuenjin e o Rakuhouha. Este Bio Metal está apenas disponível nos modos Normal e Hard, você pode até jogar no Easy, mas infelizmente, o modelo “OX” não vai estar disponível.
