Priyanka Chopra Talks About Her Next Project In Hollywood Which Is A Biopic On Ma Anand Sheela

Last year, a controversial documentary called Wild Wild Country has been seen which has mesmerized everyone completely. It is a movie about Osho who has been a spiritual guru from India. In addition, he has known as the philosopher and Rajneesh movement leader as well.  Through the show, spiritual leader Osho has become really popular. Ma Anand Sheela has become a household in the process around the world too. It is believed that Ma Anand Sheela has been Osho’s right hand person and one of the most devoted followers. Several reports have been heard in the past that Aamir Khan will play the role of Osho in an upcoming Hindi movie while Alia will be Ma Anand Sheela. However, official announcement regarding the movie has not been heard till now.

During The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Priyanka Chopra has said that she has been developing a script on the life of Ma Anand Sheela. In this movie, she is expected to play the titular role. Priyanka has said, “I am developing a feature with Barry Levinson. He is an iconic American director. We are developing it (from the perspective of) Sheela who is this guru who originated from India. She was his right-hand woman and she was devious. She created a whole cult in America. He was called Osho. I don’t know if you’ve heard of him. I am developing that next for me to star in and produce.”

Right now, Priyanka is busy with the promotion of the movie Isn’t It Romantic where she will be seen with Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth and some others. Release of the movie will be seen on the weekend of Valentine’s Day.

Alia Bhatt to play Ma Anand Sheela? - The actress has been spotted twice in the last two days at Aamir Khan’s home. It has been in the news for a while that Alia could perhaps pitch in to don the character of Ma Anand Sheela – who was a close aide of Baba Rajneesh, also referred to as Osho.  While the web series is rumoured to be bankrolled by Karan Johar, Kapoor and Sons director Shakun Batra may wield the baton, it was the presence of Alia’s close friend and Karan’s close aide Ayan Mukerji at one of the meetings that also raised a few eyebrows “Alia is comfortable working with Ayan, but then it will be a call that both Karan and Aamir will need to make. Shakun has been doing some work on the project, which is slated to be a biopic on the life of Osho and Alia’s name has been taken in whispers even around Aamir Khan and Karan Johar with regards to this project. Not long ago, The Osho International Foundation has sent a notice stating that “use of any intellectual property rights owned by the foundation requires prior authorisation from the Foundation.  Various copyrighted books and audio-video recordings of Osho including Autobiography of a Spiritually Incorrect Mystic and Glimpses of Golden Childhood etc cannot be used by anyone without authorisation.”

Alia Bhatt The Foundation has clearly stated that any filmmaker wanting to make anything on the life of Osho should first seek their permission to do so. The controversial Godman’s brush with Bollywood includes the likes of Late Vinod Khanna, late Parveen Babi and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt’s exit from the Osho camp was not a very good one with the filmmaker claiming that Rajneesh had even threatened to destroy him. Regarding reaction of Priyanka Chopra on the legal notice, Ma Anand Sheela has said that she has not heard anything from Priyanka’s team. Even a courtesy letter has not been offered to her. However, she does not mind it at all.

Instead of Priyanka Chopra, Ma Anand Sheela likes Alia Bhatt to do her role in a movie. According to Ma Anand Sheela, Alia looks pretty similar to her younger self. There is certain spunk in her too which is essential. It seems quite natural on her too.
