आत्मीय अहसास से बनते हैं रिश्ते

यह बात उस समय की है जब प्रभु श्री राम, माता सीता और लक्ष्मण 14 वर्ष के लिए वनवास गए हुए थे। श्री राम उनके भाई लक्ष्मण और माता सीता तोनों ही चित्रकूट की ओर जा रहे थे। पहाड़ी रास्ता था, हर तरफ नुकीले पत्थर और कांटे पड़े हुए थे। श्री राम को बार-बार कांटे चुभ रहे थे और ठोकरें लग रहीं थीं। मगर, श्री राम के कदम डगमगाए नहीं और ना ही वो क्रोधित हुये। हाथ जोड़कर धरती माता से अनुरोध करने लगे कि 'मां, मेरी एक विनम्र प्रार्थना है आपसे, क्या आप स्वीकार करेंगी?' प्रभु राम का अनुरोध भला कोई कैसे ठुकरा सकता है। धरती माता बोलीं- 'प्रभु प्रार्थना नहीं, आज्ञा दीजिए।'

यह सुन कर भी राम ने अपनी विरम्रता नहीं खोयी और बोले कि 'मां, मेरी बस यही विनती है कि जब भरत मेरी खोज में इस पथ से गुजरे तो आप नरम हो जाना। कुछ पल के लिए अपने आंचल में ये पत्थर और कांटे छुपा लेना। मुझे कांटा चुभा सो चुभा, पर मेरे प्यारे भाई भरत के पांव में आघात मत करना। धरती माता कुछ सोच में जरूर पड़ गयीं। फिर उन्होंने पूछा- 'भगवन, मेरी धृष्टता माफ करियेगा! मगर क्या आपके भ्राता भरत आपसे अधिक सुकुमार हैं? जब आप इतनी सहजता से कांटे की चुभन सहन कर गए, तो क्या कुमार भरत सहन नहीं कर पाएंगे? फिर उनको लेकर आपके चित्त में ऐसी व्याकुलता क्यों?'

श्री राम ने कहा कि 'नहीं माते, आप मेरे कहने का अभिप्राय नहीं समझीं। भरत को यदि कांटा चुभा, तो वह उसके पांव को नहीं बल्कि उसके हृदय को विदीर्ण कर देगा। मां, वह अपनी पीड़ा से नहीं बल्कि यह सोचकर तड़प उठेगा कि इसी कंटीली राह से मेरे भैया राम गुजरे होंगे और ये शूल उनके पगों में भी चुभे होंगे। मैया, मेरा भरत कल्पना में भी मेरी पीड़ा सहन नहीं कर सकता, इसलिए उसकी उपस्थिति में आप कमल पंखुड़ियों सी कोमल बन जाना।'
