They weren't all that exotic per se—growing up in the Silicon Valley, our elementary school had been granted top-of-the-line Macintosh models by Apple, and the public library had really nice machines too—but being very interested in creative challenges, there were a lot of artistic programs I was excited to finally get 1.)quality-time with.

Right away, Mom, having a professional background in technology and marketing, taught me some of the more sophisticated word processing and type setting techniques of that time. Luke Mullen Appreciation

I know this has been said before, but can we all appreciate the gem that is Luke Mullen?  This kid was minding his own business thinking he was just going to be this minor character, probably not around for much in terms of storytelling.

Imagine being a young actor with no expectations for a role—one of his first, and as that role progressed being asked to be a part of something so huge.  First off, what Terri(and Luke) have done with TJ is amazing, regardless of his sexuality(namely TJ being such a complex and sensitive human).  Seriously, this kid is the king of subtle but impactful facial expressions.    

But secondly, assuming Tyrus ends up being a thing, he’s taken it in such stride.  You hear stories of so many actors(Gavin Macintosh and Hayden Byerly[and to a lesser extent Kalama Epstein] come to mind most immediately for obvious reasons) being asked to take a part of these historic roles, and not only having to carry the weight of what those roles mean, but being comfortable enough with themselves to portray these characters with the gravity they deserve.  Not to mention the actors themselves are so young playing characters that are even younger, it speaks to their maturity.  Obviously we are at a place in society now where variances in sexuality is more accepted and portraying varying sexualities is not as big a deal, but still.  At the end of the day, it’s a huge weight, knowing how much these representations, in such young characters, mean to people.

Luke obviously can’t address it publicly yet, but I wonder what was going through his mind when he was informed that this was where TJ’s character was headed.  Being such a young actor(both in age and experience) and not only being asked to play an LGBT character, but to be a part of such a young historic coupling is a huge deal and he and Josh have carried that weight so incredibly and so respectfully.  People praise Josh all the time and he deserves it, but seriously, Luke is a gem too.  Especially considering how little he’s allowed to talk about it.

Also, on a less serious note, TJ now has 3 lookbacks.  I’m shook.

What is Echo: Route 65?

Echo: Route 65 is a 70,000 word prequel visual novel for the ongoing horror/romance Echo story created by Howly and HTBH games. The purpose of this project is to explore a single defining night in the lives of six of Echo’s young inhabitants: Chase the Otter, Leo the Wolf, Carl the Ram, TJ the Lynx, Flynn the Gila, and Jasmynn (Jenna) the Fennec Fox. Players are able to chose from four varying “routes” based upon their preferred character of confidence.

The story starts on November 1st, 2008 with a 15 year-old Chase as the main character. A shameful development is plaguing Chase, and rumors of a bizarre Day of the Dead party in an abandoned manufacturing building along desert Route 65 serves as the focal point of this visual novel.

Review: Book Club targets 50 shades of grey hair

In Book Club Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen play four old school friends who finally get around to reading Fifty Shades Of Grey at their monthly group.

EL James’s unfathomably popular trilogy causes the ladies’ libidos to stir and, as is always the case in the “grey pound” drama, inspires them to some late-in-life adventure.

A sex comedy aimed at pensioners may sound revolutionary but director Bill Holderman has no intention of upsetting his audience.

The gentle drama that follows lands somewhere in between a very tame Sex And The City and a slightly risque episode of The Golden Girls.

It’s not a very memorable film but it does provide a startling example of the differences between British and American cinema.

Book Club is an aspirational fantasy aimed at the midweek matinee crowd. Everyone is filthy rich, wildly successful, fabulously glamorous and suspiciously youthful.

For restaurant entrepreneur Carol (Steenburgen), the S&M fantasy inspires her to take charge in the bedroom.

The mucky book seems to have a more magical effect on Vivien (Jane Fonda) and recently widowed Diane (Diane Keaton), who is almost hit on by a funny, handsome, multi-millionaire pilot (Andy Garcia) who instantly falls for her kooky charms.

The ladies in The Book Club have late-in-life adventures

Meanwhile, commitment-phobe Vivien runs into her dashing ex-fiance Arthur (Don Johnson), who she last saw when they split up 40 years previously.

He is recently divorced, rich and still crazy about her. The four threads are a bit of a mixed bag.

Fonda gets the saltiest lines but Steenburgen gets the funniest/cringiest scene when Carol spikes her poor husband’s beer with Viagra.

Bergen’s scenes are the most touching. There’s a quiet dignity about the way this withdrawn lady tentatively embraces her romantic side.

And as her first dates are played by regular-looking septuagenarians Richard Dreyfuss and Wallace Shawn, they feel messily convincing.

Book Club isn’t meant to be a serious film, it’s a gentle diversion and its four leads have more than enough star-wattage to keep

it ticking over until its improbable finale. But you do wonder what they could have done with an edgier script.

After all, Fonda was in Kloot, Bergen was in Carnal Knowledge and Keaton was in The Godfather.

The fact they are still working in age-obsessed Hollywood must count as some sort of achievement but they are far better than this.

Brenock O’Connor stars in The Bromley Boys

The Bromley Boys is a non-league version of Fever Pitch, with production values to match.

Based on Dave Roberts’s memoir, it’s 1969 and 15-year-old Dave (Brenock O’Connor) is utterly obsessed with Bromley FC even though they are rooted to the bottom of one of England’s lowest divisions.

As Alan Davies’s mostly pointless narration explains, weird Dave has always been shunned by children his own age.

But hard times on the terraces have seen him befriend three middle-aged men.

There’s woolly hat fan Roy (TJ Herbert) who, in one scene, the police (perhaps understandably) mistake for a local pervert.

Then there’s Keith from The Office (Ewen Macintosh), whose new persona is defined entirely by a bad suit and a dreadful wig.

Finally, there’s a barely written character played by Mark Dymond, who seems to be performing in his own clothes after missing his wacky costume fitting.

Dave is devoted to his club and his new pals above all else, even though the chairman’s daughter (Savannah Baker) is unfathomably attracted to him.

A different kind of film would find a psychological or even a medical explanation for Dave’s behaviour and would raise a red flag over the age of his best friends.

But apart from a couple of scenes where his parents (Alan Davies and Martine McCutcheon) fret over his expulsion from school, his obsession is played for very broad laughs.

There are also a couple of sizeable plot holes but a smattering of amusing lines and an enthusiastic turn from young O’Connor mean that wrestling film Walk Like A Panther still remains the worst British sport comedy of the year.

Condensing a football career spanning six decades into one documentary must have seemed like a daunting task for film-makers Gabriel Clarke and Torquil Jones.

Their trick with Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager is to concentrate on the short period where all the various forces in his life came into focus – the single season he spent in charge of Barcelona in the mid-1990s.

The players were under-performing and the board was at war with the fans over the sacking of Johan Cruyff. Robson, a born fighter, was in his element.

This touching and beautifully paced film chronicles that eventful year, while jumping back and forward in time to show his stints in charge of Ipswich, Newcastle and the last great England team.

Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Ronaldo (the likeable one) Alan Shearer and Pep Guardiola talk about how he inspired a dressing room while a teary Paul Gascoigne relates how a terminally-ill Robson made sure he had support during his darkest days.

This was the first time I’ve seen Gazza cry since the 1990 World Cup semi-final. This time, I was blubbing too.

The format of McKellen: Playing The Part couldn’t be much simpler. Director Joe Stephenson plonks 79-year-old Sir Ian McKellen in a comfy chair and then cuts the ensuing

interview with dramatised scenes of his early days and archive footage of his many triumphs on stage and screen.

Interviews with friends and a few personal questions may have given a more complete portrait but who wouldn’t want to spend 90 minutes with this warm, funny and endearingly self-effacing gentleman?

Il concetto di Sierra Trading Post continua a crescere nei negozi tradizionali aumentando la sua attività online. La società aprirà quattro nuove sedi nel secondo trimestre 2018. Ora ha 16 negozi aperti, rispetto ai quattro outlet che aveva quando ha acquisito il rivenditore on-line nel 2012. Estee Lauder Companies Inc, come ULTA, in una certa misura è un fornitore. Gli utili del quarto trimestre di Estee Lauder, rilasciati ad agosto, suggeriscono che la sua attività è molto sana. I ricavi sono aumentati dell’11% escludendo gli effetti sulla valuta a 2,9 miliardi di dollari, mentre il risultato operativo nel trimestre è aumentato del +60,8% a 230 milioni di dollari.

Sherwin Williams è ancora in fase di integrazione della sua acquisizione Valspar che l’aiuterà a crescere fuori dal Nord America. Shopify (SHOP) Uno dei titoli più caldi sia negli Stati Uniti che in Canada è Shopify Inc. in aumento del 158% da inizio anno senza considerare il 66,2% del 2016. Se amate le azioni di piccole o medie dimensioni, probabilmente avrete sentito parlare della società tecnologica canadese che è stata paragonata a titoli come Amazon. Secondo alcuni rapporti gli investitori dovrebbero utilizzare cautela in quanto non è una azione a basso costo, si ricorda anche però, che l’e-commerce sta cambiando in meglio. Quando si aiutano le aziende a fare soldi oltre che a risparmiare tempo, ci si trova di fronte a qualcosa di grosso.

Shopify è ancora solo una frazione delle dimensioni che potrebbe diventare – non sarei sorpreso di vedere le sue azioni crescere fino a 10 volte la sua dimensione attuale nel corso dei prossimi anni. L’E-commerce rappresenta solo circa l’8,4% del totale delle vendite al dettaglio negli Stati Uniti, si pensa che la cifra crescerà in modo esponenziale nel prossimo decennio e Shopify potrebbe espandersi con essa.

Apple sta investendo 1 miliardo per sviluppare i propri programmi TV per Apple TV. Fino a dieci programmi che dovrebbero essere prodotti da due ex dirigenti della Sony Pictures. Gli analisti vedono il contenuto come un altro modo per l’azienda di aumentare i suoi ricavi nel settore servizi – una parte crescente dell’impero Apple. In definitiva 1 miliardo di investimento apparirà come una piccola spesa proporzionato al risultato dato che sarà in grado di raddoppiare il suo fatturato derivante dai servizi entro il 2020.
