Planets in the Solarsystem, pt 1

The Solarsystem

Co-developed with Lotus

Though there are noticable differences between Evenscerna and our own Earth, there are notable similarities on a functional level such as seasons, year length, and types of planetary bodies in their systems; however, just as the continents and make up of the two life-worlds are very different, so, too, are the other eight planets different from their mirrored counterparts.

Planetary sizes are measured at the equatorial radii, NOT using the "how many earths fit" method which accounts for volume more than relative size.

🌐 Gression 🌐

•Orbital time: 1 Gression year lasts /6 months, 2 Eikatz (14 days) on Evenscerna/

•Rotational time: 1 Gression day lasts /3 months, 1 Eikatz (7 days) on Evenscerna/

•Size: 0.38 Evenscernas

•Satellites: 2 asteroids and a micro meteor believed to have broken off one of the asteroids, no true moons; surrounded by a lot of debris

•Elemental affinity: Electricity

•Magical affinity: Telepathy

Referred to as "Halflast" by some due to it's travel lasting exactly half an Evenscernian year, it's often cited by both tribal and modern communities to track the progress of the year and is a very important celestial body as a result. To those with access to view it, it appears as a small, yellow-orange, rocky planet with a noticeable crater on it's surface, appearing as an "eye" that is usually visible from Evenscerna, lending to the idea of The Eye of Lightning watching over and striking judgement on those that it feels deserve it.

•Orbital time: 1 Kirrusian year lasts /9 months, 2 Eikatz (14 days) on Evenscerna/

•Rotational time: 1 Kirrusian day lasts /8 months, 3 days on Evenscerna/

•Size: 0.94 Evenscernas

•Satellites: none

•Elemental affinity: Nature

•Magical affinity: Healing

When Kirrus appears in the sky, the working day in some communities begins, and when it sets, the day ends; it's position in the sky is plotted to organize planting and harvesting due to it's orbit following 3/4 the length of a year during the warmer seasons. It has a very thick atmosphere of pink-hued clouds and rotates the opposite way of other planets in the system.

🌐 Evenscerna 🌐

•Orbital time: 365.256 days, or 1 year

•Rotational time: 24 hours, or 1 day

•Size: 6,371 km/3,958.8 Mi (equal to Earth)

•Satellites: 1 moon

•Elemental affinity: --

•Magical affinity: --

The homeworld of life and magic, similar in structure to Earth but with a ratio of 45:55 land-to-water (as opposed to 30:70), affording more land and less water to populate and more spread out continents. It has seasonal differences as well, the north and south hemispheres mirroring their seasons from each other with the equator shifting between wet and dry seasons with minute differences in temperature.

🌐 Bectrim 🌐

•Orbital time: 1 Bectrimian year lasts /2 full Evenscernian years/

•Rotational time: 1 Bectrimian day lasts /1.5 Evenscernian days/

•Size: 0.53 Evenscernas

•Satellites: 1 transitional moon, 2 asteroids

•Elemental affinity: Metal

•Magical affinity: Telekinesis

A transitional moon is an unusual satellite that is too round to be a captured asteroid but too irregular to be a sphere, and is thought to be an asteroid that is still being shaped into a moon. However, the surface of this "moon" has a distinct crater, as if a large mass had exploded out from it, possibly caused by one of the asteroid moons crashing into it during development and creating two chunks of orbital debris and leaving a broken moon in it's wake. Bectrim itself is dark red with polar caps (much like Mars) but with higher peaks turning dark, brownish-black.

🌐 Laarcs 🌐

•Orbital time: 1 Laarcian year lasts /12 Evernscernian years/

•Rotational time: 1 Laarcian day lasts /10 hours on Evenscerna/

•Size: 10.5 Evenscernas

•Satellites: 58 true moons, 6 transitional moons, 4 asteroids and other debris forming a loose, thin ring around the equator (68 satellites)

•Elemental affinity: Mineral

•Magical affinity: Divination

A fiery-colored gas giant most notable for it's demi-ring and constantly fluctuating red storms that dot it's surface, it is the largest planet and is believed to grant divination powers of great potential when a new storm forms, and takes away those powers when one fades. Many moons are individually attributed to the different various methods of divining fortunes and are often depicted on their respected trades for luck and accuracy. Those born during a storm formation period (roughly 10 days long to account for delay in visibility) are considered highly gifted.

🌐 Xerrosia 🌐

•Orbital time: 1 Xerrosian years lasts /30 Evenscernian years/

•Rotational time: 1 Xerrosian days lasts /12 Evenscernian hours/

•Size: 9.4 Evenscernas

•Satellites: 42 true moons, 5 transitional/moonlets and 1 massive macromoon that is far larger than the rest, believed to be a captured planetoid

•Elemental affinity: Wind

•Magical affinity: ESP and Voyance

Much like it's sibling, Laarcs, Xerrosia's moons are often attributed to the different "knowings" that can occur in magically gifted folk; "knowings" are rarer than divination, as they can't be learned, and do not require tools to make predictions. Xerrosia itself is green, blue and yellow gas with a very beautiful and distinct double-ring that cradles 4 of the 5 moonlets and 2 moons frame it in a tidally-locked ballet, keeping the rings in a sway. It's not known how this happened.

🌐 Mawllil 🌐

•Orbital time: 1 Mawllilian year lasts /85 Evenscernian years/

•Rotational time: 1 equatorial Mawllilian day lasts /18 Evenscernian hours/ BUT 1 polar Mawllilian day lasts /85 Evenscernian years/

•Satellites: 18 true moons, 3 moonlets

•Elemental affinity: Water

•Magical affinity: Astral Projection/Dream Walking

Through some devastating means, Mawllil spins on it's side (it IS the mirror of Uranus after all) with a gossamer-thin ring on it's equator. This odd behavior has lent itself the idea that it is a totally different plane of existence and where spirits, dreams and nightmares reside, it's deep blue-green surface appearing as a giant ocean; for this reason, water is closely associated with sleep and ghosts.
