Hello, for a couple of years I was pending to share the updated version of my old fan art  of magic the gathering Gatewatch.  I extended the frame a bit so you can print it on playmat without cutting the illustration too much.

Angel OC Human form

I always draw normal human forms for most of my ocs in case I just want to see them hanging out in a normal world, or something similar. Oh and I finally finished the character bio sheet if you want to check it out here(https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-LXqtvXGypHbXEnfMXU1Rnoe4JMfwe-1uSyusx8W3ac/edit?usp=sharing).

This character sheet is specifically for her angel form, her human form can be thought of as a version of her that lives in our world or somewhere similar. I’ll probably make a sheet for her human form too at some point but it wouldn’t be too different from the angel version, mostly just less fantastical. Maybe I’ll also talk about my design process when making her. We’ll see.

Wanted to make a work with Baltrice as more of a witch then a solider and so I created this basing it off of when she leaves Jace and Tezzeret after Test of Metal. Striving to achieve peace through structure. 

I’ve been researching the heck out of the color pie in order to understand the color’s motivations and beliefs in order to help me create this and some other ocs. The color pie is definitely my favorite alignment system to date and whenever I go off on one of my color pie rants I’m not joking when I say I could probably write a whole book on it if I had enough time or if someone let me. Of course, despite the fact that I didn’t need to I also ended up researching the color pie from a mechanical and card perspective, and thanks to people like @/Ravnican_Artist I’ve been thinking about how the colors depict themselves in art. What feelings do they convey, what do they want you to see, what do they want you to know, how do they want you to view them, from who’s perspective is it from? It’s very fascinating and really makes me want to write an article or a podcast or something on it….

 Hmmmmm… I got off topic this is supposed to be about my oc, well considering she’s based on part of the color pie I guess it can’t be helped.

Cartoony Angel OC

Whenever I draw an OC I like to draw them in one or two different styles, usually cartoony and/or chibi, to get a better feel for the designs. I am doing more drawings of “White” and I plan to have a basic character bio done by next week. The sword ended up looking smaller than I wanted lol.

Angel Ángel 天使

I’ve been messing around with my schedule in order to find a comfortable and consistent upload schedule. I want to try to upload something at least twice a week so I will probably start posting more doodles, unfinished drawings and drawings I plan on redoing, such as this flat of an angel character I made. I wanted to practice character design by making original characters based on Magic the Gathering’s color pie as a personal project. However, I’m not at all satisfied with how this flat turned out and decided to redo it. Hopefully, I’ll have a name for her once I finish the redraw.
