A dear old friend of mine, Trilok Sharma, an excellent singer of old Bollywood songs, and his versatile female artist, Uma Rele (music by Mahesh Patel) got the crowd swinging throughout the four show. Who was Rishi Atri?

Indian history is blessed with a large number of renowned saints and sages who collected all Vedic wisdom, practices, mantras, and concepts. Rishi Atri or Attri is one of the most well-known and reputable Vedic Sages. He is regarded as being a Brahmarishi, a Brahmajnani.

Devarshi, Brahmarishi, and Rajarshi are the three categories of rishi listed in Hindu sacred texts. The ultimate class of rishis to emerge from Lord Brahma’s thought is known as a Brahmarshi. Rajarshi is the king turned sage, whereas Devarshi is the sage of all gods.

One of Lord Brahma’s Manasa Putra (mind-born sons) is Brahmarshi Atri. Atri Rishi is one of the Saptarishi’s seven great sages, the other rishis being Marichi, Angiras, Kratu, Pulastya, and Vashista.

The final Saptarishi to emerge from Lord Brahma’s mental manifestation was Rishi Atri. The majority of Vedic literature state that he comes from the tongue. The tongue is frequently associated with knowledge and wisdom in Hinduism. Atri rishi hence possesses the power of sound or speech.

Atri Rishi is mentioned in numerous ancient Vedic texts, including the Rig Veda, Puranas, Ramayana, and Mahabharata. The fifth mandala of the Rig Veda is even named in his honor. There are 87 hymns attributed to the rishi Atri and his lineage in the fifth mandala of the Rig Veda.

Gunas are a notion in Hinduism that stand for a character, property, feature, or attribute. They also come in three different varieties: Rajas (desire, activity, neither good nor evil, self-centered), Tamas (virtue, optimism, calm), and Sattva (destruction, disparity, sinful, damaging). These gunas are present in various amounts in everything that exists in this limitless world. Brahmarshi Atri, on the other hand, is thought to have been exempt from these gunas’ impact.

Atri Rishi and Anusuya

Devi Anusuya, the child of the sages Kadam and Devahuti, was wed to Rishi Atri. One of the 7 pativratas (Chaste) female of Hinduism is Devi Anusuya. The divine trinity granted Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh to be born in the family of rishi Atri after many years of severe penance. Lord Dattatray, an embodiment of the Holy Trinity, was born of Anusuya.

Atri Gotra 

Atri Gotra is the name of Rishi Atri and Devi Anusuya’s familial lineage. Numerous gods, rulers, rishis, brahmins, Prajapati, and Vaishya are represented in Atri rishi’s family tree. The Lunar dynasty, also known as Chandravansh, was founded by Chandra or Soma and was ruled by kings such as Purava, Aayu, Nahusha, Yathi, Yayati, Samyati, Aayati, Viyati, and Kriti.

The warrior clans of the Atri Gotra also include Turvasu of the Yavanas, Drhyu of the Bhojas, Anu of the Mlecchas, and Puru of the Pauravas (King Poros). Other notable sages from Atri rishi’s lineage include Savasva, Avistir, Purvatithi, Mudgala, Shakalayani, and Chandogya.

The involvement of Rishi Atri

Rishi Atri is credited with developing the sacred system of thread known as Poonal, Janivara, or Jandhyam after Deva Guru Brihaspati. The letters A, U, and M, which stand for Beginning (Brahma), Preservation (Vishnu), and Destruction are represented by the three strands of yarn (Shiva). Following the marriage ceremony, the second strand is handed to the couple (representing bhuva Loka), and the third and final strand is offered to the goddess Diksha (representing Suwa or swarga Loka).

Atri Mandala is a unique mandala that belongs to Maharishi Atri. For numerous deities, including Indra, Agni, Ashwini Kumar, and even demigods, he is the first to visualize them and compose songs in their honor. The 87 hymns in the Atri Mandala are in honor of Atri Rishi and his heirs.

Atri Rishi has also made contributions to astrology and medicine. To carry out ceremonies, yajnas, prayers, and meditation, he has created rules, techniques, and mahurat. Sage Atri has produced several writings and formulations for Ayurveda.

Even the Atreya Mandala of the Rig Veda, Kalyan Sukta, and Swasti Sukta were constructed by Rishi Atri.

Conclusion:

One of the fundamental traditions of Hinduism is the Vaikhnasam or Vaikhanasas. They credit Atri, Marichi, Bhrigu, and Kashyap—four outstanding sages—with developing their theology. The Atri Samhita, one of the earliest writings in this tradition, discusses several forms of yoga and moral principles for leading a calm and contented life, including;

Two brand-new blocks: Social Icons and Buttons make adding interactive features fast and easy.

New ways with color: Gradients in the Buttons and Cover block, toolbar access to color options in Rich Text blocks, and for the first time, color options in the Group and Columns blocks.

Add custom fields to menu items—natively

Two new actions let you add custom fields to menu items—without a plugin and without writing custom walkers.

On the Menus admin screen, wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields fires just before the move buttons of a nav menu item in the menu editor.

In the Customizer, wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields_customize_template fires at the end of the menu-items form-fields template.

Check your code and see where these new actions can replace your custom code, and if you’re concerned about duplication, add a check for the WordPress version.

Blocks! Simpler styling, new APIs and embeds

Radically simpler block styling. Negative margins and default padding are gone! Now you can style blocks the way you need them. And, a refactor got rid of four redundant wrapper divs.

If you build plugins, now you can register collections of your blocks by namespace across categories—a great way to get more brand visibility.

Let users do more with two new APIs: block variations and gradients.

In embeds, now the block editor supports TikTok—and CollegeHumor is gone.
