Stitches, Part 3
Tumblr media
A/N: Yep, I’ve ventured off the Marvel path and penned a few tales for The Witcher!
Pairing: Geralt of Rivia x Reader
Warnings: NSFW, 18+, Smut and cannon level violence
Stiches Part 1 & Stitched Part 2
Tumblr media
The light of day began to be swallowed by the shadows of night as you walked behind the Witcher to the outskirts of town. You stared at the massive sword across his broad back, trying to remind yourself he would keep you safe. Yet, you were following him to the one place you found most terrifying.
“Keep up,” He grunted. “I want to have enough light to look around without starting a fire.”
You nearly ran to catch up with his long strides. Geralt looked over his shoulder, seeing the wide-eyed glances you shot to the darkest recesses of the woods. He paused, cupping your cheek in his gloved hand. You took a shuttered breath and tried to look brave. Nerves attempted to crawl out of your stomach.
“I won’t let it hurt you.” He leaned his forehead close to yours.
“But I’m still the bait.” Your voice came out small, little more than a whisper.
“A hym will only appear in the right circumstances, so yes, you are there to draw it out.” He stood to his full, impressive height. “Then I will destroy it.”
Geralt turned back to the road. The smithie’s old home and workshop could be seen just ahead. Brush and grass grew out of control with no one in residence. The door to the workshop appeared to be partially off its hinges, as if someone tore it open. You placed a hand on the Witcher’s back as he stepped inside.
Boxes and bins had been over-turned, ransacked for anything valuable. Rusted nails, twisted chains, and bent shoes scattered the floor. The forge was a black pit against the far wall. Geralt moved to the open door leading into the house. Darker inside, you stayed close as he moved from abandoned room to abandoned room.
Racoons and mice nested in furniture and corners. The sound of their movements made you twitch. Geralt kicked over a table in the main living area and pushed the top against the far wall. He shoved the broken chair and bench to the corner as well.
“Here should do.” He pointed to the interior corner of the room, furthest from the doors and windows. “Stay in that corner. Stay low.” He gripped your upper arm in a firm hand. His face leaned close to yours and spoke quietly. “Do not run, little dove. I will protect you. It’s only fear projected by the hym. Whatever you do, stay in the corner. Don’t get in my way. I need to focus on the hym, so I need you to stay put. Understand?”
You nodded. The anxiety and nervousness already churned your stomach and made your hands sweat. His golden eyes remained locked on yours until you took a deep breath and said, “I’ll stay in the corner. I trust you to protect me.”
His jaw clenched and he gave a single nod before turning you around and giving you a subtle push. You wedged your back into the corner and sunk to crouch on your heels. Beside you, the remnants of a chair littered the floor. You picked up a wooden leg. It wasn’t much, but it felt weighty in your hands.
Geralt drew his sword, balancing it easily in his grip with point up and the blade parallel to the back of his arm. He stood, relaxed but aware, as he waited. You could not see his face, but his head moved slightly as his glance shifted from the door to workshop to the door the outside. The room darkened as the minutes ticked by.
Your breath hitched. Something cold, terrifying, battered your senses. The need to run became overwhelming. You couldn’t see anything, but you knew it was there. A whine escaped your throat as you pushed backed into the corner harder.
Geralt’s head tipped, catching the change in your behavior. He shifted his weight to the balls of his feet. His breath slowed even more.
A shadow lurched forward. You screamed. A dark beast lunged. Vaguely humanoid in shape, with arms reaching the ground, hairless and skin like aged leather, it rushed at you with mouth open wide. You screamed again, seeing only the long needle like teeth.
A giant sword curved down in a blur. The hym dodged, catching the blade upon its shoulder. Its screeched, the sound making your ears ring. It jumped, bouncing off the wall and crashing across the room and through the door to the workshop, moving like a gigantic jumping spider.
“Don’t move!” Geralt shouted, running after the beast.
The crash of bodies against the wall, made louder by rattling chains and clanging horseshoes, left you shaking. A force hit so hard plaster flew from the wall. You closed your eyes against the dust. The hym wailed again. You covered your head with your arms, screaming.
Every instinct, every urge, insisted you run and get as far away as possible. Tears streamed down your face. The otherworldly terror made you shake. “He’ll protect me. He’ll protect me. He’ll protect me.” You chanted.
The wall gave way with a crash, Geralt and the hym tumbled into the room, black gore spraying along the wall and floor. With a roar, the Witcher swung his sword down to behead the beast. You scurried up and moved along the wall to avoid the flow of thick black blood.
Your keening whine dissolved to rapid pant as you stared at the head.
Geralt let out a heavy breath, rolling his shoulders back. With habitual movements, he wiped the blade before securing it to his back. He turned to you. Other than some hair pulled free of its ties and dirt upon his clothes, he looked no different than he had an hour before.
Approaching you slowly, as if you’d rabbit at a sudden movement, Geralt held out a hand. “It’s over.”
You focused on his face, eye glinting in the darkness. They softened, as he said your name. You took two quick steps and wrapped your arms around his chest. His hands gentle soothed your back. A tremor began in your stomach and it grew to fill your limbs. You couldn’t stop it.
“Shhh.” He breathed into your hair. “It’s the fear passing. You’ll be fine. I’ve got you.”
You lost track of how long you stood there. Eventually, you pulled back. “I need – Can we go outside? I need air.”
“Come,” Geralt led you through the dark to the road outside. The air smelled better. Someone nearby had a fire going in their hearth. The breeze blew the scent through the trees. After a few moments of breathing fresh air, your legs no longer felt like jelly.
“What now?” You peeked around his broad shoulder to the front of the abandoned home.
“Hym bodies turn to dust quickly. A day or two and it will be nothing by grime.” He gave you a rueful smile. “It’s not like there was a bounty on the beast.”
You rested your forehead against his bicep, clutched his forearm. “I cannot thank you enough.” He touched your head with his other hand, prompting you to gaze up to his eyes. “Is your wound alright? Should I check your stitches?”
With a wicked curve of his lip, Geralt rumbled. “You may have to take a very close look, just to be sure.” His tease brought out a giggle. You felt his strong hand rub along the small of your back. His low gravely voice brushed your ear. “We should return to the inn, I can hear the bath and bed calling.”
He led you past the few patrons in the dining room. Rulla, the innkeeper, looked up. You could see the concern in her eyes melt away to relief as you nodded to her. She knew of the night’s adventure. Geralt paused beside her, requesting hot water for the bath.
The fear and adrenaline left you in something of a daze by the time you found yourself sitting beside the large tub in the bedroom. Geralt stripped off his sword and armor, he knelt before you and took your left boot in his hand to unlace the ties.
You were vaguely aware of a tap at the door, but he reply with a gruff “yes”.
Rulla and two boys came in all carrying heavy buckets of steaming water. She asked the Witcher if you were alright, he nodded. “She had a scare, but did well…just needs a bath and a sleep without nightmares.”
“Good, good.” She patted Geralt’s shoulder. “Leave her in your care, then?”
He grunted an affirmative. As the door closed, he set aside you shoes and stood to strip off his own clothing. You watched, a lazy smile growing on your face. He pulled at your hands, prompting you to stand. “Like what you see?”
“Mmm, yes.” You leaned forward to rubbed your nose into the hair covering his muscular chest. He smell of sweat, and man, and your favorite rosemary mint soap. Your hands drifted along his sides, but he push you away enough to loosen your dress.
Geralt removed your clothes. He groaned a bit as he stepped into the tub. Hold out a hand, he drew you into the hot water with him. Arranging you between his legs, Geralt took up the soft cloth and your soap. He quickly washed away his own sweat as you rested your chin upon you updrawn knees.
“Come here.” He eased you back to rest against his chest. With careful strokes, he cleaned away the scent of fear. Soon he abandoned the cloth, to allow his hands to roam over your warm, wet flesh.
Rough, calloused fingers examined the length of your neck. Hands slid along your sides, to encircle you and pull you tight against the bulk of his body. His hot breath tickled your ear before his teeth grazed the skin. Giant palms covered your breasts, kneading and teasing your hard nipples.
You gave a deep sigh. It turned to a moan as his erection rocked against your ass. His mouth latched on to the conjunction of your neck and shoulder, sending a shiver down your body. Geralt rumbled his delight. One of his hand slipped between your legs to bury into your slick core, the other circled your neck to stretch your body along his.
“Mmm, little dove,” He growled. “I’m going to fuck you into a dreamless sleep.”
“Gods, yes.” You panted, already feeling the spiraling tension at your core. His thick fingers buried deep. Your legs spread as far as the tub would permit.
He pulled you up, tightening the hold on your throat, until you felt the head of his cock slip against your core. He guided you down on to himself, slowly a first. Your fingers grasped his arm and moaned, the stretch divine. His fingers danced across your sensitive clit, drawing mewls from you throat.
You were completely in his control. His hips rocked up, gaining speed and force, sloshing water. The vibration of his growl shot through you as he bit down on your shoulder. Your thighs shook. His hand moved to your hip as he slammed into you. Powerful, strong, fast. You orgasm hit you hard, stealing your breath, making you quake.
“Yes,” He growled, fucking you with brutal intensity, not allowing you to come down. Water sprayed. Bodies slapped. He planted his feet against tub wall, arching up and slamming your pliant body onto his cock. You moaned and cried, overwhelmed. His groans and grunts filled your ears. Your legs curled up, coming again, milking his cock and pulling him with you. His arms wrapped around you tight, pushing deep, and filling you.
Geralt moaned and collapse into the now cool water. He looked over the room and chuckled, you felt it through your whole body. Limp, you could only manage a quiet “hm?”.
“It’s a good thing we’re not upstairs and floor is stone.” His voice rumbled in your ear. “We would have flooded anyone below us.”
You couldn’t open your eyes enough to look, but smiled weakly.
“Are you alright, little dove?” His hands reverted back to their soft caresses.
“M’good.” You mumbled. Body limp, nerves tingly, exhaustion pulled at you.
He chuckled again and maneuvered you off of him. He smiled at your moan and small frown as his cock slipped from your body. Geralt sat you forward so he could stand. Then he picked you up and carried you to the bed. Throwing back the covers, he stretch you both out naked to the warm evening air.
You curled against his massive chest, almost asleep immediately.
Geralt sighed, his eyes drifting closed. Tracing shapes on your bare skin with his fingertips, he whispered as he drifted off, “Sleep well, little dove. I’ll keep you safe.”

"Boyfriends"
I've been working on this story concept for....3-4 years now and I've finally managed to work everything out to the point I'm confident in posting this little blurb of the main characters. So, I hope you enjoy and feel free to ask questions about them and their world.
Context: This takes place in a world of super powered people heavily inspired by MHA / Marvel / Miraculous. Waker (Way-kur) Atlas is Dare City's main hero who is put through quite a lot on a daily to weekly basis trying to beat the baddies and Cyrus Fauthrin is his infamous thief arch nemesis turned lover and best friend who causes trouble around the city just to get the Hero's attention.
--------------
The melancholy of the day was waning on Waker as he patrolled the quiet streets of one of Dare’s many neighborhoods which was quite unusual considering every seven seconds a villain was after his head. The sun was barely above the clouds, no one was really awake yet and the only thing that accompanied him was his footsteps as he jumped, hopped and skipped to the next platform he summoned under his feet. He happened to be bounding over Lay Wind Park, the foxes fast asleep in their dens to his disappointment, but the Hero Monuments were still a sight to behold in the early sunrise as they shone with brilliance in what little light was filtering over the surrounding hillsides.
The wind blew past his frizzed locks as he stood above the park near a tree in the shade, expression steeled and focused as he watched for signs of trouble as he waited for a certain someone to arrive. Today was uneventful and rather slow, the kind of day Waker preferred if he were being honest. Heaven knew being bored all day was ten times better than returning home to the countless kitchen sink surgeries he’d have to do with worn needles and his mother’s thread pinching into his skin as he sewed up bloodied wounds full of shrapnel and debris. Much better. The birds were chirping a happy, lazy song as they flew by on the breeze and the distant hum of an awakening city filled the natural ambiance of cicadas and crickets quite nicely as he watched and waited. He dare let out a sigh as the scene took hold of him fully, a warmth washing over him that he hadn’t felt in the recent weeks.
Which wouldn’t be for long as the rustling of tree leaves and a “Boo!” have him falling off of his platforms and hurtling towards the ground with an embarrassingly shrill scream.
“Waker!” A concerned voice follows as a blue blur dives after him.
Ground spiraling as he falls, Waker braces for impact, too late to conjure any platforms beneath him to break the fall so, he readies himself, waiting for the hurt and pain that would surely follow with some scrapes and bruises…………...But it never comes. He unscrunches his eyes and removes his arms from his head to see a blue, sparkling light surrounding him.
Irritation and embarrassment take over him immediately.
His face turns a copious amount of red as he’s carefully scooped up in pale arms that hold him close and, humiliatingly enough, in bridal style. Oh god no, he curses mentally, murmuring a soft “No…” into his shield of arms. This was so not how he wanted to show up in front of his partner after their long and grueling few weeks of not being able to see each other outside of villain fights and breaks in between their testing week.
The sudden warmth of a chest presses against his side and the delicate rhythm of a frantic heart race beneath his one hand as the other quickly grabs for his cape to hide his strawberry cheeks. There was no way in hell he was letting ‘he knew who’ see him in such a state, there was no possible way he could let the witch-like thief catch him like this. A brave hero didn’t get scared or spooked by rustling leaves and the word boo! Absolutely absurd! Though a voice in the back of his mind said he already had.
“You are such a fucking clutz, I swear.” And a huge scaredy cat, the blue-clad ravenette doesn’t say aloud, but his tone implies anyways. “I should take you to my ballet classes sometime, maybe then you’d actually learn some balance.” The comment only makes him clutch the soft fabric tighter around himself.
He’s loathing the thought of unveiling himself now, but he knows he’s been caught, his normally stoic or serious persona now broken and practically burned away as he knows his cape isn’t doing much to hide his warm face or the tenseness of his grip. Plans to forever sink himself into a hole where nobody could possibly ever find him again after this mess are shortly abandoned for now and gaining courage Waker swallows the huge lump in his throat and tries to cleverly reply. “H-hey, what’s a-....What’s up, Witch Boy?” And he knows the intended playfulness doesn’t go through as he’s met with a narrowed glare.
The other isn’t amused. “Witch boy, really? Did I actually scare you that badly that you lost a couple of brain cells?”
“Shu-shut up, Cyrus!” He defends as this “Cyrus” just sighs at him, though his stare more sly than pointed now.
“Get out of that stupid thing so I can see your face.” He says with a tremble in his voice that Waker can definitely tell is laughter, the prick. “Or I’ll totally drop you again.” And like hell he will, Waker knows, but he takes the threat seriously nonetheless and loosens his grip on the cape just enough to see the Ravenette’s brilliant and ever playful smile.
For a moment Waker just stares and admires him, those brilliant blues sparkling, no, literally sparkling as he says something Waker doesn’t catch. The sun is framing his face so perfectly in the light, highlighting those perfectly red cheeks he would love to kiss every morning, and the slight upturn of his lips as he smiles down in reverence at him, and the slow flutter of his lashes that compliment his features nicely. Though braided off to the side Cyru’s hair never fails to make him look so ethereal as the gentle morning breeze brushes back his loose strands. Waker swears it looks like its made up of space itself when he lets it go during the night time, convincing himself he can see stars within the strands when he stands beneath the moonlight. It doesn’t take much to make the hero swoon regarding his partner nowadays. Daydreams of peaceful nights alone on the couch watching movies together after his nightmares keep him awake and alert run through his mind, or the times Cyrus has saved him from getting beaten to a pulp and they spent hours talking over stitching him back together about nothing at all, and every single time Cyrus has stuck up for him at school, reminding him of the warmth this person carries with them and all the love and affection he’s constantly showered in when they’re together. It’s strange how much Cyrus has changed over the past few months from raging emo to ride or die friend, but he wouldn’t change it for the world. He doesn’t even try to stop the lofty sigh that escapes his lips as more dear memories cross his mind.
And Cyrus is all too quick to recognize that dumb look on his face.
“Oh, hell no!” Is the only warning he gets before being promptly dropped, this time no blue aura to save him from hitting the dirt below, landing with a thud. “Not this early in the morning!” Though Waker could have sworn Cyrus was sharing the same look with him not minutes prior.
“Ow! Why’d you drop me, asshole!?”
Cyrus cocks his hips as he floats there, his wide brimmed conical now covering his eyes in an intimidating manner, making him way more menacing than he should considering his current attire. “Oh please, don’t even act like you’re hiding that stupid look on your face, Idiot! I ain’t dealing with your whole sappy dappy act this early in the morning.”
By “sappy dappy” Waker knows exactly what he’s referring to and scowls accordingly. Apparently, holding hands and having morning cuddles while complimenting everything about Cyrus is considered sappy and lovingly disgusting. Well at least to some people, it’s called affection and admiration!
“It’s a look that means I like you, asswipe!” Waker shoots back, malice nowhere to be found in his tone though, barring more on playfulness.
“Do you think I’m in love with you or something!?”
And they then stand there -well float there- in silence, both looking each other in the eyes, narrowed brows testing the other to make the next move or say the next snappy comment. And for a moment it looks as if the words really have cut too deep, but Waker isn’t one to remain serious for long as his shoulders begin to shake, prompting the other to clutch his stomach and stifle a grin as their eyes water over with laughter.
“Oh, no, not me, I could never.” Waker quips, leaning back and hugging both his arms, not caring for the dirt now caking his suit. Cyrus is quick to come back with his own natural snark.
“Pfft, as if! Absolutely not. Me and you, the orange haired frizz ball who kicks my ass more than twice a week over that one time I stole a candy bar? You gotta be fucking with me!” He bellows, Waker taking note of the boy flipping upside down where he floats in the air, his face a contortion of joy and happiness as his ripped dress flows with the wind.
He finds the display rather adorable, recalling that such a thing only occurred by accident when the thief was getting emotional. His inept ability to control his powers never failed to amuse the Hero. The little wrinkle of his nose didn’t quiet his thoughtful admiration either as he blushed in between bouts of giggles.
"I wouldn't have time to be your lover anyways!"
“It’s only 6am, when can I admire my boyfriend so it fits within your busy schedule?”
And the laughter is immediately quieted, a heavy silence filling the air, even the crickets and cicadas falling victim to it. The world is waiting in bated breath as if listening to the drama unfold.
Waker holds in a breath. Oh shit, oh fuck, he really fucked it up this time! Way to go, Atlas, you really did a number on today!
…………
………….
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to, I just did-”
“It’s ok……” Cyrus breaths out, taking a long drag of air before finally finishing. “It’s….ok.” He manages to lower himself to the ground, dress falling at his sides, and crosses his arms in doing so. “We’re-I’m going to have to get used to it eventually.” He shrugs. “Right?”
There’s a weight to his words as Cyrus steps closer to the redhead that Waker recognizes near immediately. They’ve had this talk before, a talk that has led to a misunderstanding or two between them in the past and a verbal fight at that. The term “Boyfriend.” It was a touchy subject to say the least and while it had been a challenge for even Waker himself to start using it, it also seemed Cyrus was struggling to accept the lofty title. A long time ago before the two even met, the word had a different meaning to it for them both, but Waker had long since come to terms with it himself, but understood Cyrus’ hesitation in saying the word freely. He considered his next words carefully.
“I know you don’t exactly like the ter-”
“It’s not that I don’t like it Waker…..”
“I know, Cy, but.” Failing to put his thoughts into words Waker scrambles forward to catch Cyrus’ hands in his own, pecking each delicately, square on the knuckles, gauging his reaction whilst he does so. When Waker is met with a soft smile, he returns it, though his much softer and kinder in Cyrus’ eyes. “I shouldn’t have said it when you’re not ready. Just because I moved past it doesn’t mean you have.” Noticing his smile slipping he clumsily adds in, “And that’s ok! Really, it’s ok and I mean, and I love you and-uh, I get it and I mean I just say boyfriend because that’s what everyone else says, expects- wait no- I didn’t mean to phrase it like that uh-I don’t really get the need for a title for what we have anyways, like so dumb right!?”
Followed by more ridiculous rambling that has Cyrus covering his mouth trying not to giggle. It’s a nervous habit that has come to amuse the thief to no end. “And-it not like it means anything to us, its just there for other people so they know that um, we, us, you and I are an um item I guess wow that was cheesy and dumb and I am so sorry that you have to put up with me oh god I’m rambling and no, don’t look at me like that. I’m doing the thing again aren’t I-” Shaking with laughter again Cyrus has to put a hand on his shoulder to get him to shut up because he knows if he doesn’t Waker could go on well into the night and has before. It didn’t help that he could feel the tremble of the others fingers, realizing Waker was going to throw himself into an anxiety attack if he didn’t.
“Waker!” And Waker promptly closes his mouth, panic clear in his eyes that Cyrus quickly combats by brushing strands of orange out of his face and behind his ear. “Just take a deep breath.” And Waker does, following the instruction intently. “And let it out, slowly.” And Waker follows that too, looking that much calmer as Cyrus pulls him closer. “Slowly.” He rubs his thumbs over Waker’s hands. The trembling is still present, but less so. “There you go.” And doesn’t stop telling him to breath calmly until he feels Waker’s grip relax in his own.
Delicately and softly, each flyaway is combed back into place only to immediately pop out again, but Waker appreciates the sentiment anyways and Cyrus has no problem being given an excuse to keep combing through such lovely soft tufts. He loves the soft mane of fluff on his partner’s head that even since their first meeting has remained as untamed and wild as ever. -Such a shame he always ties it back when he’s on duty though- It just adds to the contrast between his actual self and hero persona, the sweet and endearing ball of anxiety vs the serious and battle ready hero of Dare city who couldn’t catch a break. And he wouldn’t be ashamed to admit to which one he preferred.
“You don’t need to tell me-er.” Waker quickly corrects, trying not to sound patronizing. “I don’t need you to explain yourself Cy. You-we don’t need to have a name if that’s what you want, that’s what I’m trying to say. Official or unofficial or whatever, I won’t treat you any different.”
“I know Waker. I…..I really want to call you that, just I-.......I just like what we have right now and-”
Waker just pecks him on the cheek quickly and pulls away to pat at a spot on the ground, looking longingly back up at him. A soundless “You don’t want to lose me.” goes unsaid as Cyrus complies, Waker taking the shorter one in his arms once more.
It wasn’t a matter of Cyrus being afraid to commit, though maybe it was, not even he was sure of what was going with himself anymore, but a fear that the wonderful friendship he’d built up with the hero would end or change or just not be the way it is now because they suddenly started calling each other boyfriends. He’s had it happen one too many times at this point, every one of his previous “boyfriends” changing everything once they started dating, acting as if kissing and romantic outings were supposed to be their only interactions from now on. They were no longer interested in the random silly things he found on the internet or just hanging out doing whatever, but were interested in using him, his body, parading him around and rubbing it in peoples faces, being denied having fun if it wasn’t their idea of “fun” and more. Cyrus' stomach curls remembering being ignored for weeks to months at a time because he wasn’t feeling up to being in bed with them or awkwardly sitting off to the side while his one boyfriend at the time showed him off to his friends and bragged. It was the same guy who he used to play videogames and eat cookies with on the weekends, talking about anything and everything…...It hurts him to realise there probably was never a friendship there to begin with. Just an elaborate ruse to get him into bed at some point.
And that was one thing Cyrus feared when they had held hands for the first time after awkwardly admitting to harboring feelings for each other after the high of a fight they were forced to join sides on. Never had the thief felt more relieved that his feelings were reciprocated, but also more scared that he had just ruined the one healthy relationship he managed to make in those many months spent together.
Cyrus removes his hat and huddles under Waker’s chin, placing his head right on his heart that gives out a steady, comforting rhythm and brightens when the taller of the two puts his head on him in return. No, Cyrus thinks, this is different.
A long silence falls between them as they cuddle in each other's arms, just watching the sun come up. Basking in each other’s presence, taking in the warmth of their bodies pressed together in this nice early morning, and relishing in the calm which was far and few in between with their double lives and they were thankful. There’s no need to exchange words now as a quiet understanding befalls them both.
It’s only after the sun seems to peak at the crest of the hillsides does Waker make himself heard again.
“Is that why you dropped me?” And Cyrus blinks for a quick second, processing the question before understanding and then playfulness cross his expression.
“No it’s because you’re a dunce.” He huffs. “And fucking heavy as hell.”
Waker chooses to ignore that last bit. “But I’m your dunce.” He boops his nose.
“Damn, straight you are.” And Cyrus retaliates with a kiss on his.
Boyfriend or just “friend who I like to kiss and hold hands with sometimes”, Waker loves him and Cyrus doesn’t doubt that for a second.

Always Loved You (Jin One-Shot, Fluff)
I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough. Currently, I was laying on a beach chair I’d dragged out to the edge of the lake, soaking up some sun while reading a trashy romance novel. The main character had finally confessed their love to the main love interest, and things were getting interesting.
“Y/n!” I ignored whoever was calling me.
“Y/N!”
“What?!” I hollered back, ripping off my sunglasses in annoyance.
“I need you to go to town! We need groceries for dinner tonight!”
I stood up, grumbling, pulling down my swimsuit that had started riding up my ass and gathering up my bag and towel. So much for a relaxing afternoon.
Still, I guess I was here for more than just a vacation. It was summer, and I’d just graduated from university. When everyone who attended my graduation party asked what I was going to do with my fancy new degree, I shrugged and gave some vague, non-committal answer. I had no job prospects lined up, not even an internship. I knew what I wanted to do with my degree, but no idea how to get there.
Sick of people asking me about it, I finally found something to do with my summer. I would go live with my grandparents and help them out. Truthfully, that was kind of a lie in itself. Sure, I’d help with whatever my grandpa and grandma needed, but mostly I was here to get some space and figure out what to do with the rest of my life. My impromptu trip got my parents off my back, at least.
I breathed in the warm, fresh air one last time before going inside to change. I loved it here. Back when I was in grade school, I used to come here for entire summers with my parents. Between the sun and the lake, I was constantly begging to come back here. I wondered when that changed… probably some time in high school, when I started getting busy with friends and parties. “I’m leaving now!” I called out to my grandma, scooping up the list she left for me on the coffee table.
“Thank you!”
I stepped outside and began the walk to the mini-mart down the road, relishing in the way my skin warmed in the sun once more. I hardly passed a single person, let alone a single car. That’s part of the charm here… no nosy neighbors or pesky so-called friends trying to get into your business and tell you what to do. Everything had a good distance between it, allowing for solitude and that small-town feel. I loved that it took a twenty minute walk to get to the busiest part of town, which was still nothing when compared to the crowded streets of the city.
A smile spread over my face as I passed a small park I remembered playing in as a kid.
“Tag, you’re it!” I shrieked before running away as fast as I could.
He growled and took off after me, causing me to squeal and run faster, giggling like mad. I ran up the steps of the jungle gym until I reached the very tippy, top. Oh no, he was coming! He grinned as he cornered me, but I had one escape left. I slid down the slide, still laughing as my bum hit the ground, got up, and started running. I didn’t make it far, though.
WAM! My feet tangled up and I ended up on the ground. “Ouch,” I gasped, looking at my hands. They had tiny cuts all over them, and my knee was scraped.
He reached me and pushed me hard in the shoulder. “TAG!” he screamed, but his smile faded when he saw me crying.
“Y/n, what happened?” he said, leaning down and examining my knee with large, brown eyes.
“I tripped,” I sniffled.
“Oh, don’t cry. I trip all the time. I even carry band-aides around just in case. See?”
I perked up a little when he pulled a bandage out of his pocket. He smiled at me as he peeled off the backing and stuck it on my knee. “It’s Spiderman,” I giggled.
He grinned at me. “He’s my favorite.”
The boy suddenly leaned down and placed a kiss on top of the bandage. “There. All better.”
He pulled me up and we continued our game of tag, shrieking and laughing even louder, if that was possible.
I blinked away the memory, realizing I’d stopped and was staring at the playground. God, I hadn’t thought about him in forever. How long’s it been? I wonder if he still lives around here… or even if he remembers me.
Our moms were best friends back in the day, and every time my family came here, we’d always spend the most time together. He was the only kid my age we knew around here, so he became my best friend. As we grew up, we went from sending each other hand-drawn pictures in the mail to full-on letters, then to emailing, then texting, then video calling.
One day, my laptop beeped, indicating I was getting a video chat, and I nearly declined it before seeing it was him. I quickly wiped my tears away with a tissue and blew my nose before answering the call. “Hey,” I said, giving the camera a watery smile.
“Hey! It’s been forever.”
“I know, I’m sorry, I keep meaning to call you but I’ve just been so busy.”
I sniffed, and he frowned, leaning closer to his screen. “Are you crying?”
“N-No,” I stuttered.
He gave me an amused smile. “Y/n, come on. You know you can’t lie to me.”
I choked out a laugh. “Alright, fine. Yes, I was crying, it’s stupid, just some guy being an ass as usual…”
I watched as he reached out a hand and leaned his camera even closer to his handsome face, concern etched all over his features, those brown eyes shining in what little light there was. “Please don’t cry, y/n. You know I can’t stand you crying.”
I nodded and laughed a bit more. “I know. I promise, it’s over with that guy. I won’t be wasting any more tears on him.”
He smiled at me. “Good.”
Lost in thought, I kept walking down the road, my tennis shoes scuffing along the pavement as I absentmindedly kicked stray rocks. I wonder if he ever thinks about me. Probably not. Last I heard, he too went to university somewhere in a far-off city. He was probably making a living for himself, his career prospects endless… probably dating someone too. Might even be married by now.
I huffed out a sigh as I reached the mini-mart. I stepped inside and grabbed a basket before pulling out my grandma’s list, muttering as I read it out loud to myself. “Y/n?”
That voice… it couldn’t be. No freaking way. I whirled around. “Jin?”
His face split into a wide grin. “It is you! What are you doing here?”
“J-Jin,” I stuttered, still not comprehending that the tall, handsome guy I was just reminiscing about was actually here.
He laughed. “Yeah, that’s me. It’s been what, six, seven years?”
“Something like that.” I could hardly breath. He looked only slightly older than what I remember. His hair was darker and pushed away from his face to reveal his forehead, but the rest of him was the same. The same easy smile. The same toned, wide shoulders. That melodic voice. Another memory suddenly forced its way into my mind, one that I’d been trying to push away since I got here.
The soft light of 6am caused my eyes to flutter open. A fresh, cool breeze danced across my bare skin, causing me to shiver and slide my arms back under the covers, cuddling close to the warm body next to me. I suddenly shot up. “Oh God, we’ve been out all night,” I groaned.
Jin sat up as well, chuckling. “It’s okay. Just tell your parents you were with me. They’ll understand.”
Oh hell. His voice was deep and husky from lack of use, and I felt myself melting into a puddle as he spoke.
Without warning, I leaned over and pressed my lips against his. He kissed me back eagerly for a few minutes before squeezing my waist, causing us to break apart as I gasped. “Listen,” he murmured, trailing his lips across my bare shoulder. “We should be getting back.”
“No, just a few more minutes,” I said, pulling him in again.
Jin indulged me for only a few seconds more, wrapping his soft lips around mine in a way that made my head spin. After an entire summer of flirting and driving each other crazy, we finally gave in and ended up kissing each other after Jin drove us out here to watch the stars. Before I knew it, we were in the back of his truck making love. He was my first. I always knew he would be. It was just a matter of getting us to cross the line between friends and lovers.
He pulled away from me. “Seriously, y/n, our parents are going to murder us as it is,” he laughed. “And… you’re leaving today. You’ve got to go pack.”
My heart dropped. I knew he was right. When would we see each other again? Jin began pulling his clothes back on, and I did the same. He grabbed his jacket and was just about to shrug it on when I tugged it away.
“Hey!” he protested, playfully grabbing for it back.
I buried my face in the jean fabric, inhaling deeply. It still smelled like him, musky with a hint of spicy cologne. “Can I keep this?” I asked suddenly. “It… It smells like you.”
Jin smiled. “Sure.”
“Y/n?”
I blinked, looked back up at Jin. “Yeah, sorry. I was just-”
“Lost down memory lane?” he said, the corners of his mouth turning upwards.
“Y-Yeah.”
I still had that jacket somewhere. I’d kept it wrapped in a plastic bag so, whenever I grew lonely or sad, I could pull it out and inhale his scent. I’d even fallen asleep a few times with my head buried in it, making myself feel better as memories of Jin wafted through my mind.
“I find myself doing that too,” Jin murmured, bringing me back to the present.
I never went back to my grandparents’ after that, finding myself too wrapped up in school, friends, and other boyfriends to bother. Or, at least, that’s what I told myself. Maybe the real reason I stayed away is because I didn’t want to find out Jin had been doing the same. Living his life… without me.
I tightened my grasp on my basket. “Um, I’ve got… I’ve got some shopping to do.”
“Oh, right. Well, I’ll leave you to it then.”
“Do you want to shop together?” I blurted out, noticing his mostly-empty basket.
Jin turned back around, his eyebrows raised in surprise. “Sure.”
We walked down the aisles in silence, picking out the groceries we needed as we went. “I can’t believe you’re here,” I finally said. “I thought you went to university.”
“I did,” he replied. “But I graduated recently, and I came back to see my family for a summer before heading back to Seoul.”
“Oh. Did you get a job?”
“Nope. I’m trying to become a doctor, so I need to go back to school for a few more years.”
“Nice,” I murmured.
“What about you? Why are you here?”
I sighed. “To visit my grandparents. Help them out.”
Jin stopped, grabbing something off a shelf, tossing me a knowing smile. “Come on, y/n, I know you. Why are you really here?”
I scoffed. “What do you mean? That is why I’m here.”
Jin stepped close, causing my breath to hitch in my throat. I caught a whiff of that oh-so-familiar scent and felt my legs turning to jelly as he leaned down so our eyes were level. “Are you sure?” he said, grinning.
I rolled my eyes. “I’m not here for you, if that’s what you’re thinking.”
“That’s not what I was implying,” he said, chuckling. “But good to know.”
“Besides, you’ve probably got some girlfriend back in the city,” I muttered, turning away to grab something off a shelf.
“No, actually.”
“Really? The cocky, handsome Jin can’t sway them city girls?” I teased.
He shook his head. “Oh, that’s definitely not it. I could have any girl I wanted back there.”
Jin suddenly grabbed my basket away from me, causing me to whirl around. He stepped close, and I backed up until I could go no further, my shoulders pressed against the shelves. “The problem was me. I didn’t want any of them,” he murmured.
My lungs stopped working as his lips hovered dangerously close to mine, my eyes growing wide as our breaths intermingled. Jin drew back, laughing. “You should’ve seen your face,” he snorted.
“Fuck off,” I snapped, grabbing my basket back and striding down the aisle away from him.
He followed after me, his windshield-wiper laugh still echoing throughout the store. “Awww, come on, y/n. It was a joke.”
“Well it wasn’t funny.”
“Why not? What, you got a boyfriend that wouldn’t appreciate me flirting with his girl or something?”
His tone was nonchalant, but I sensed some tentativeness in the question. “No,” I replied firmly. “I don’t have a boyfriend.”
Jin looked down at me, his brown eyes bright as he smiled. “Good.”
I scoffed once more and headed over to the cashier, placing my basket down on the checkout belt. Jin placed his behind mine, and when I got out my wallet to pay, he placed a large hand over mine. “I’ll pay for both,” he told the cashier.
I didn’t say anything until we got outside, both of us weighed down with shopping bags. “You didn’t have to do that, you know,” I scolded.
Jin chuckled. “A ‘thank you’ would suffice, you know.”
I marched up to him. “Just because you’re some big shot doctor now-”
“I’m not a doctor yet, y/n.”
“Whatever. Just because you think you can-”
He cut me off once more by grabbing my bags and loading them in the back of a truck. I stared at the gray vehicle, my mouth dropping open. It was the same truck. The place where I’d lost my virginity all those years ago.
I shook my head, bringing myself back down to reality. “What’re you doing?”
Jin shut the trunk door. “Giving you a ride. Now come on, stubborn, get in.”
I scoffed, but got in on the passenger side nonetheless. Everything looked the same, but different. Rather than a Spiderman lanyard hanging from the mirror, a few graduation tassels hung there instead. The truck was cleaner than I remember. No fast food cups littered the floor, but a couple half-empty water bottles were in the cup holders.
But it was the smell that got to me. That musk with a hint of spice… exactly like I remember. My body relaxed as Jin started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot, the same way I’d relax when holding onto his jacket back home.
It didn’t take too long to reach my grandparents’. Jini pulled in the driveway and shut the engine off, but neither of us moved. Jin stared at me, but I didn’t say anything, uncomfortably biting my lip and staring at the dashboard. “Y/n,” he murmured, causing me to look at him. I half-wished I hadn’t. His eyes were filled with that same look he gave me that night we kissed and made love, wide and perfectly brown.
“Why didn’t you come back after that summer?”
There it was. The question I’d been asking myself since I got here. I twisted my hands in my lap nervously. “Because… Because…”
“Tell me,” he said softly.
I pressed my lips together before releasing a loud sigh. “Because I was afraid.”
“Of what?”
“Of you moving on.”
Jin shook his head, chuckling. “Are you serious?”
I slowly nodded.
“Y/n, I couldn’t move on even if I wanted to. I loved you. I still… love you.”
My mouth parted open in surprise at his confession. “You do?”
Jin smiled and nodded. “Yeah. I tried to move on when I realized you weren’t coming back, I really did, but you were always in the back of my mind. Y/n, I’ve loved you since we were kids.”
I bit my lip, taking only a second to process before I unbuckled my seat belt and launched myself at him. Our lips pressed together, melding into the sweetest kiss I didn’t realize I missed with every fiber of my being. Jin wrapped a hand around the back of my neck, angling his jaw to deepen the kiss, and I threw my arms around his neck, trying in vain to draw him even closer.
We pulled apart, and I smiled as I took in Jin’s blown pupils, his lips reddening from being pressed to mine, his breath coming out in short gasps. “I love you, y/n,” he murmured. “I’ve always loved you.”
My smile grew. “I love you too, Jin.”
We continued kissing for what felt like forever before he pulled back, laughing and saying we needed to get the groceries inside. We unloaded the truck with the biggest grins, holding hands as we walked up to the house.
As I looked at Jin, the sun glinting off his dark locks, his smile lighting up my whole world, I found myself thinking that maybe there was a reason none of my relationships worked out. Maybe there was a reason I hadn’t found any opportunities coming my way after I graduated. And maybe, just maybe, I was exactly where I needed to be.

Don’t make deals with the Jevil- Chapter 1
My very first Deltarune fic! I don’t think i’ve ever put in so much effort in something that started out as a tickle fic, and still kiiiinda is?? It still has tickle stuff, but it isn’t quite the main focus. Hope you enjoy!
“After all the trouble I went through to lock him up, you want to release him?”
“Perhaps a little chaos might be fun.”
“If you can call THIS luck...no, it’s more like a curse…!”
Those words rang around in Ralsei’s head as the elevator descended downwards. At first, he was all for freeing this odd prisoner. The King didn’t seem to be very fair, so it was very likely he was just an odd monster the King didn’t like and happened to lock away. But, after hearing those words from the one who sealed him away...It didn’t seem like such a good idea anymore.
“Are you sure about this? This seems like a really bad idea.” Ralsei noted as elevator stopped. Kris lead the way out, carefully stepping down the stairs.
“Don’t be such a stiff. We went to all the trouble of getting this damn key, we’re gonna use it. Besides, I can handle the worst case scenario.” Susie assured. They walked until they reached the bottom of the staircase. All there seemed to be was large door with no way of opening. As they approached, a voice laughed with joy. “Uee hee hee! The key, the key! A marvelous fun is about to break free! Won’t you let yourself outside?~” The voice mused. Ralsei took a step back, unsure of what to think. Maybe he was being too judgemental. Kris took out the key, placing it in what he assumed was the keyhole. After a moment, the key faded and produced another, smaller door that opened up. Kris walked inside, Susie having to crouch. The landscape seemed warped beyond belief, causing weird illusions. In the center of the room was a small, odd looking jester-like creature. He balanced on his tail, gripping his feet as he laughed. “Uee hee! Visitors, visitors!” He cheered, landing on his feet. “Now we can play, play! Then, after you, I can play with everyone else, too!” Susie looked skeptical, crossing her arms. Ralsei stepped forwards, looking much more friendly, though his eyes gave away his nervousness. “So, what are we playing, exactly…?” He asked softly. The creature giggled, jumping upwards to float in the air.
“Oh, it’s a simple game~” At that moment, several things that looked like scythes dropped in front of the group, causing them to have to stumble backwards.
“You smile or laugh, you lose~” He purred, holding his hand out as one of the scythes landed back in his hand. Susie scoffed, lifting her axe up slightly.
“Doesn’t sound too hard.” Jevil laughed at her response, smirking.
“Your confidence is amusing! Let’s see how long it lasts~” He teased, waving to her. Susie growled, leaping up in the air with her axe. She brought it down, though it struck the ground. Jevil reappeared behind her, cackling. She growled with rage, slashing at him. They repeated the process several times, Jevil appearing close by and vanishing before he could be hit. Eventually, Susie caught on the pattern he had. She spun around in a circle with her axe out. As Jevil reappeared again, the axe slashed at his side. There was a pause before he simply started laughed again, much more frantic like than before.
“Oh, your attacks to nothing! They tickle me so~” He purred teasingly. Susie glared daggers at the creature, lifting the axe above her head.
“I’ll show how ‘tickly’ this axe is!” She yelled, jumping up to slash at him again. Jevil stayed put the time, only moving slightly to grab the axe in midair, holding it and Susie in the air with him.
“No, I think i’ll show YOU how tickly this axe is!~” He vanished, only taking the axe with him, leaving Susie to fall on the ground. He reappeared and tossed the axe into the air, snapping his fingers. The axe melted into glowing, purple feathers. They swirled in the air all together, and then dove straight for Susie. She didn’t have much time to run and when the feathers caught up, they swarmed all over body, brushing and spinning in small circles where they could reach. Susie instantly knelt down and laid down on the ground, holding her stomach in laughter. She swatted the feathers the best she could, though it only pushed them to different spots. She turned on her back and started pounding the ground with her fists in protest, catching a few feathers in the process. When pressed into the ground by her fist, the feathers turned to dust. While there was a way to get rid of them, it didn’t seem like she had much of a chance of getting rid of all of them.
Ralsei simply stared in amazement, watching as Jevil lowered himself to the ground beside her, scythe in hand.
“Looks like I have one, who seems to be a bit of a sore loser~” He smirked. He pounded the end of the handle of the scythe on the ground a couple of times, the blade of it turning into a large, curved feather.
“Who’s next?~” He asked, staring at Ralsei. The prince stepped back a little, still staring in awe.
“Y-You...you know what...what tickling is…?” He asked carefully. Jevil giggled in response, putting his hand over his mouth.
“You sound surprised! What kind of fool do you take me for?” Jevil asked, crossing his arms as he balanced on his tail.
“W-Well...I had to have tickling explained to me...and i’m pretty sure there’s more in the dark world who have no idea what tickling is. It’s just...surprising.” Ralsei explained, hoping his words might calm the creature down a little. Jevil stopped smiling for a brief moment, staring back at Ralsei for what seemed like forever. He finally laughed again, shaking his head.
“You were unaware! I see, I see, this is quite awful, awful!” He yelled, tossing his head back dramatically. Kris glanced at Ralsei, putting his hands together and putting his head on his hands to mimic sleeping, then making a singing motion. Ralsei nodded, and cleared his throat in preparation to sing.
“When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow…”
“And the places that you know seem like fantasy~” Ralsei’s eyes opened in shock as Jevil’s voice joined in the song, sounding oddly melodious and soothing. Jevil gently held Ralsei’s snout shut. Ralsei was already falling under the spell of the song, looking quite sleepy. Kris also felt quite tired suddenly, kneeling down on the ground. He was suddenly jarred out of it by a loud scream. He perked up again, rubbing his eyes. Susie screamed again, as if to snap Ralsei out of his trance as well; but it was too late. Jevil pulled away, ending the song and Ralsei fell to the ground, completely passed out. Kris rubbed his eyes again, drawing his sword. He dashed over to Ralsei, lifting him onto one of his shoulders, using his other arm to point the sword at Jevil. The creature responded by laughing, tilting back slightly. Susie picked herself up and wandered back out of the door. The feathers vanished as they left, stumbling to the floor. Ralsei perked up slightly, looking around.
“H-Huh…?” He asked. “What happened?”
“Some bitch...decided to fuhuhuck with us…” Susie giggled, still brushing the ghostly feeling off of her.
“Dohohohn’t worry about ihihit…” She assured. Kris nodded in agreement, standing up. They’d get Susie a new axe. They’d get ready, and they’d face the King, no problem. They’d be fine.
Kris regretted his own thoughts as he watched Susie kneel down to the ground, gasping in pain and exhaustion. The battle against King Spades was a lot harder than all three of them had anticipated. Ralsei was down for the count, and Susie looked to be on the same path. Kris was the only one who seemed to be up to fighting. He kept his eyes hidden, but dashed forward and slashed his sword. Barely missed. He tumbled to the ground as the king walked back a step, out of the way. He smirked, crossing his arms. Kris tried to get up, but was forced down by a great, sudden weight on his chest. King Spades had placed his foot and all of his weight onto Kris to keep him from getting up.
“Pitiful lightners...I should have known this would be an easy battle to win. Maybe you’ll learn to keep to your own world, at least until we take over.~” He purred, kicking Kris off to the side, near the ledge. Susie gasped, trying to crawl towards the two.
“No! D-Don’t you d-dare!” She stuttered, trying to bare through the pain. King Spades glanced back at her, scoffing.
“And what are you going to do? Yell at me some more? How horrifying.~” He mocked, rearing his foot back to kick Kris again, when he suddenly fell backwards with a yelp, causing the ground to shake slightly. Kris glanced up to try and see what had happened. A familiar scythe flew through the air back into its owner’s hand. Jevil laughed maniacally, jumping up to float above King Spades.
“There you are! How’s my oh so favorite care bear?~” He purred. King Spades simply stared in shock for a moment.
“H-How…? How did you get out?!” He yelled, trying to sit up. Jevil tilted backwards, smirking at Kris.
“Some people don’t think it’s very polite to shut the door on their way out.~” He mused, tilting back upwards. King Spades glared at Kris, clenching his fist.
“I should have known this was your doing!” He growled and started to step forward, but was stopped by Jevil hooking his scythe around him.
“Now now, boring bear, we have some unfinished business to attend to!~” He cackled. He lifted his scythe up in the air and pounded the handle of the scythe on the ground. Both him and the king vanished in a cloud of sparks, Jevil’s laughter filling the air.
“Well...guess that’s taken care of!” Ralsei smiled, tilting his head. Susie glanced at the doorway, then back at Ralsei.
“Guess it’s time for you two to go, huh?” Ralsei sighed, turning away.
“B-But what about Lancer? I wanna say goodbye to him!” Susie growled, though it sounded more sad than anything.
“Susie, it’s time. You need to go. I’ll say goodbye for you. It’s time.” Ralsei urged. Susie huffed, pushing Ralsei out of the way. Kris quickly followed, waving.
“Goodbye you two! I’ll miss you!” Ralsei waved, sighing as the two disappeared. It hurt, but they had to go home. It was for the better.
Kris was more than sure it wasn’t going to work a second time, but it was hard to say to to Susie, who was not only violently persistent, but was clearly very desperate to see her friend again. She basically dragged Kris back to the supply closet one day after school. They waited inside for what felt like forever. Kris glanced at his wrist as if checking a watch, glancing up at Susie.
“J-Just give it a minute! C’mon!” Susie pleaded. Right after, the floor seemed to fall beneath them, and they fell down once again. Kris allowed himself to fall, preparing himself to hit the hard surface of the rock. Instead, he fell into a giant pile of soft, fluffy...feathers? He tumbled out of the pile, staring at it in confusion. Susie popped out of the pile, spitting out a few feathers from her mouth.
“This wasn’t here before, right? Cause if you landed this while I landed on rock the first time, i’ll be pissed.” She growled playfully, dusting herself off as the two walked. The landscape was a lot more colorful than last time. It seemed like music was playing, no matter where the two went. Every place seemed different in some, subtle way.  The grass seemed to be almost fuzzy. There weren’t hardly any monsters outside anymore. The two stayed silent until they finally got to the castle. It was hardly even a castle; it had been changed to look like a circus tent. Right outside stood the familiar, ominous figure laughing his familiar, ominous laugh. Jevil turned slightly, smirking at the new arrivals.
“Welcome back, lightners! Care to play?~”
