So I posted about the masks we made with the kids at school the other week but I got this idea only because I had made some masks in fabric -and paper- for myself, since the ones I use right now are for winter and soon to be too hot to wear, but allergy season is upon us and I’m allergic to dust on a yearly basis so.. my problem is I don’t have a sewing machine and even though it would probably take me less than an hour -I’m a slow worker- to make with a machine, it took me a day something -while Neftlixing and reading, I admit- to finish those two, because damn, my eyes !! It hurts !! It takes FOREVEEEEEER to make by hands !!! It was very tiring but I had to work to go to since everything had been cancelled so.. whatever, right ? So, the Corona virus actuality inspired me to do something different in our 2 last art classes of the year. This week the kids made some dust mask (because hello allergies season of our hearts -or not!) it was VERY challenging to do it alone with 15 kids, usually I can get some help for a busy project like that but not this time. But we did it ! Ahah ^^ I finished overtime to spray the masks before use so they can actually use them, and add the elastic bands. The first picture was taken right after the kids had decorated them so no elastics yet 😅 it was a good origami-like challenge for them, also holding something folded while taking it. Seems easy to most but as a child it’s a good dexterity exercice ^^ Nobody is sick at school but of course we all washed and spray cleaned our hands before starting. . I did a few tries at home, made a few models but this was the simplest to have the kids make. They loved decorating them with stickers of course ^^ I’m jealous I want one too ! Ahah ^^ I made some for me too -at home- cause I don’t have many masks left at home and I’m worrying for my allergies.
