Ghosts can retreat to their core when they’re hurt enough. Really, when they’re close to a second death, or in such distress that they risk shattering themselves. They, for lack of better term, hibernate until it’s safe for them reform, and continue on their way. 

Halfas are a little… different. 

See, technically, they can’t die. One half will end up healing or reviving the other. But, they can still retreat to their core. The issue comes from well, the living half, that is, the half still made of flesh and bone. Which unlike ectoplasm, cannot shift and meld at will, and in fact? Most if not all of it is, once more for lack of better term, shed. 

Meaning that halfas, should they retreat to their core emerges with the body noticeably… smaller. 

Now of course they keep their memories, their core would never forget after all, unlike the brain which relied on more… fleshy means. Not that the current halfas were exactly aware of that fact when they instinctively did so in self preservation. They are… not pleased upon their emergence. 

The woman who stole their cores- which were apparently sold as gemstones what the fuck- is… definitely not happy either. And- okay that is not their english, where the fuck did they end up-

The mask is finished and wearable! It’s actually quite comfortable considering how heavy the plastic is and the visibility is better than I was expecting (besides the peripheral vision). This is Pye in case the shirt didn’t give it away (the back also says women in stem— thanks to that one piece of fan art that I can’t find at the moment but if anyone knows who did it please let me know because it’s wonderful)

It’s rare that I materialize physically for long enough for anyone to know what I look like but I was just too happy with this creation to not share it!!

I usually don't mess with the generic outfit design for hnk crossover characters, but I think it would be very in character for her to wear something a little bit different from the rest, so I incorporated the silhouette of her normal outfit.

I like to imagine that Red Beryl was having her model outfit ideas, and this one was scrapped, but Utena insisted on continuing to wear it.

If we get our Luigi's Mansion movie, I'm very interested in seeing how King Boo's abilities would translate into a film format.

Bowser's abilities are pretty straightforward: strong, sturdy, has claws, breathes fire. Simple stuff. But King Boo? With that gem in his crown, his powers are kind of nebulous if not extremely OP:

Hyperrealistic Illusions

Telekinesis

Magical portrification

Materializing objects

Disappearing existing objects

Altering environmental physics

Self-duplication

Portal magic

Lightning

Altering the morality of surrounding ghosts(?)

I wonder if a movie would lay down some ground rules about the extent of what King Boo can do, or do something else to nerf him in one way or another.
