This has been a week where so many things have already happened and were completely out of my control. Nothing I could do would change anything. I just had to accept it. This alone made my passion for #makingstrides even stronger. I don’t want to accept how many people will be diagnosed, or will be affected by breast cancer. What unites us, ignites is. Have courage, show passion, give hope. True facts: In 2019 more than 268,600 women are expected to be newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Nationwide 41,760 women are expected to die from breast cancer this year. Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women excluding skin cancer and second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death in women. Yes I will continue to fight until someday no one is affected by breast cancer. It was a great evening connecting with others passionate about making strides against breast cancer at the annual Making Strides Kickoff Party. We have come so far and there was much to celebrate with 2018 accomplishments. That said there is much yet to accomplish.
