After I saw that bacon-colored Nissan Cube with the license plate that said “❤BACON”, I came up with a great idea for a series of romantic and heartwarming erotic visual novels, kicking off with the cute yet sometimes tragic Beikon-iro no Kiseki. Here’s my treatment for the concept that I wrote about five years ago after being inspired by that brave pioneer who courageously showcased his (or her, or their) overwhelming love for bacon.

Beikon-iro no Kiseki (Japanese ベイコン色の奇跡, lit. "Bacon-colored Miracle"): Main hero Ryuuichi Taigadora (whose name is totally not a mashup of the two main heroes of Toradora) is a cynical and world-weary first-year college student. His college is also a high school and a middle school (it's one of those fancy elevator schools). One day he meets Konominiku Konbei, a lively high school girl who loves bacon more than anything else in the world. She reintroduces him to the wonders of the world through the medium of smoked and cured meats. Ryuuichi also meets high school athlete Puro Shutto, a cute yet determined girl who is aiming for the Olympic games; Sarami Misa, an aspiring artist and graphic designer from the college's arts division; and the mysterious middle schooler Peta-chan, who claims to have magic powers.

Characters:

Ryuuichi Taigadora: The main character. He has become cynical through his years of high school from watching the way the world works and how it is corrupt. His father is a local politician who cheats on Ryuuichi's mother with his secretary and takes bribes from corrupt cops. Ryuuichi's only love is building Gundam models, but he comes to acknowledge the wonders of smoked and cured meats as he falls in love with one of the four heroines.

First line: "This world is corrupt."

Konbei Konominiku (Jp. 好み肉こんべい): A lively, cheerful, yet childish and emotional girl. She loves bacon more than anything in the world. However, her past hides a tragedy that she cannot speak of. Her given name, Konbei, is Bei-kon (Bacon) backwards. Her surname is konomi, "like", niku, "meat". Voice: Natsumi Yanase.

First line: Ne, moshi ichiban daisuki no tabemono wo taberarenakattara, dou shiteru n desu ka? "Hey, if you couldn't eat your favorite food, what would you do?"

Shutto Puro: A cute but surprisingly foul-tempered athlete from the high school division. Her aim is to become an Olympic track and field runner. She became a runner after receiving a failing grade in PE as a child. Her story was clearly inspired in large part by another anime. Her name comes from "prosciutto". Voice: Ayana Taketatsu.

First line: Nigeru na! "Don't run away!" (Spoken after one of the members of the boys' track team plays a prank on her by raising one of the hurdles without telling her, and she runs after him to tan his hide.)

Misa Sarami: A mature yet surprisingly cute college student in the arts department of Ryuuichi's college. Her goal is to become a graphic designer. She was in the art club in high school, where she had a boyfriend who she gave up to pursue her own goals when he decided to go to a foreign university. However, she still has feelings for him and when he reappears it may put her budding relationship with Ryuuichi in jeopardy. Her surname comes from "salami"; her given name comes from "salami salami". Voice: Ryouko Shiraishi.

First line: Ah, gomen. Toire wa doko? "Oh, sorry. Where's the bathroom?" (Spoken after bumping into Ryuuichi with hands covered in charcoal dust)

Peta-chan: A mysterious middle schooler who claims to have magical powers. She seems to have a close connection with the plants of the campus. Her name comes from "pancetta" with the sounds all shuffled up. Voice: Yukari Tamura.

First line: Oniichan, mahou shinjitemasu ka? "Oniichan, do you believe in magic?"

Secondary Characters:

Yoma Konominiku: Konbei's little sister. She was killed by a drunk driver in her first year of high school. Konbei had promised her that together they would get the school to allow a bacon-tasting event at the school festival, which the school had forbidden because bacon is bad for your health. Konbei wishes to have the event in Yoma's memory; at the end of her story, she achieves this dream. When Konbei sees the bacon vendors setting up their booths in the school courtyard, she cries "Kiseki da!" and Ryuuichi responds "Un. Beikon-iro no kiseki da." before leaning in the kiss her. Yoma's name comes from mayo (as in -nnaise). Voice: Yui Makino.

Ryuuichomaruo Taigadora-sama: Ryuuichi's evil father.

Haha-ue: Ryuuichi's mother who is cheated on by Ryuuichi's father.
