ANKHLEJOHN is the Anchor Holding it Down for D.C.
His moms met his pops at a go-go and the rest was history. On the daily, Ankhlejohn supersedes his counterparts scientifically.
Picture going through life unaccomplished..impossible. The education system does its best to try and make students into squares. By squares, I mean workers – individuals who will never try to achieve ownership. ANKHLEJOHN grew up in D.C. and tried to rock the mic via slam poetry. Once that lane showed minimal funds – he pivoted into his own. My oh my how he chose the escalator route. His moms…

Book of the Week No.20 Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell Rate: 10/10 Favorite Line: "Achievement is talent plus preparation." Review: Gladwell's "Outliers" is a self-help non-fiction book published on 2008. This book may be considered as the manifesto of explaining the 5 W's and 1 H of success. Outliers is a good read for those who want to reflect about the true nature of success. "Embrace your struggle." The first impactful thing that I saw from the book. Then, I realized and it just reflected within me that you can only enjoy the fruits of your success if you really embraced the struggles you underwent! This is an another wholesome reflective reading from Gladwell. Well, I was really glad! (See that huh? HAHAHA Jk) I really love his way of writing this done and how it was narrated, ugh! All stuff and ideas are just arranged immaculately. The tone also is like of that—just a friend telling you a story about his experience! Kudos! #nonfiction #books #malcolmgladwell #outliers #Success #natureofsuccess #storyofsuccess #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookreview #booklover #booknerd #bookaddict #bookphotography #goodreads https://www.instagram.com/p/Cfomd_sph05/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

#Article: Sunday Pick: The perils of following your career passion #TedTalks #AdamGrant #Podcast #Podbay.fm https://podbay.fm/p/ted-talks-daily/e/1714284300
#ArticleSummary: "Careers are really fluid and the world's changing quickly. So instead of plan-and-implement, we might be better off with a different approach. It's called test-and-learn. Think of yourself a little like a scientist, running experiments on your career. One recent study looked at people who had career catapults that launched them onto the fast track to become CEOs or top executives in major companies. They didn't plan those moves in advance. They just kept their eyes open for interesting challenges. For some, it was taking a step sideways or even backward to build something from scratch. For others, it was inheriting a big mess and proving they could clean it up. For many, it was taking a big leap outside their comfort zones. It doesn't have to be perfect."
By #www.smukher2.com #www.smukher2.eu #www.smukher2.co.uk #www.smukher2.org #www.smukher2.net #smukher2 to #Everyone: I am grateful to #TedTalks for this great episode from their archive. Listening to Adam Grant's insightful Ted Talks Daily podcast on the perils of blindly following one's career passion was a revelation for me. His words resonated deeply, reminding me that in today's rapidly changing world, the traditional approach of planning and implementing may not always be the most effective. Instead, he advocates for a 'test-and-learn' mentality, akin to a scientist running experiments on their career. Grant's notion that careers are fluid and dynamic struck a chord with my own philosophy as a polymath. Constantly learning and applying newfound knowledge has always been my modus operandi, and it's reassuring to hear that this approach aligns with what he considers the right path for success. The idea of seizing unexpected opportunities and treating them as valuable learning experiences gives me hope for my own journey, and maybe like the individuals in Grant's study who experienced career catapults, same will happen for me.
Grant's podcast also brought to mind a powerful quote from the #SatyajitRay movie "Nayak," uttered by the character #UttamKumar: "I will go to the top, the top, the top." This unwavering determination to succeed, despite the doubts and negativity from others, resonates deeply with me. In the movie "Nayak," Uttam Kumar's character is portrayed as facing suppression from senior actor named Mukundo Lahiri (fictional name), who felt insecure around him due to his greater talent and hard work. These senior actors Mukundo Lahiri continually did the same thing repetitively acted same way no matter what the role was without innovation, while Uttam Kumar's character was shown as innovative and dynamic. This scenario can be seen reflected in the behavior of my former bosses like Jenny Hsieh UTSW/UTSA and Brent Fogel UCLA, (they are the Mukundo Lahiri equivalent) who have been consistently engaging in the same actions repeatedly against me. They take money from organizations like #NIH #NSF without completing any significant projects, so like Uttam Kumar's senior actors these PIs do the same thing over and over again, just to keep their job. These individuals are part of a harmful cycle of Principal Investigators (PIs) who support one another by approving each other's funding and publications, effectively stifling out innovators like me. My ability to learn, adapt, and apply myself is my greatest asset, one that no amount of skepticism or adversity can diminish. On the other hand, the Jenny Hsieh UTSW/UTSA and Brent Fogel UCLA, type Principal Investigators (PIs) will end up like Mukundo Lahiri, defeated and defunded, as more funding gets funneled to national security, there will be no funding left for these forever never ending projects by these PIs, its simply logical.
In the realm of bestselling authors and podcast hosts, #AdamGrant and #MalcolmGladwell stand out as beacons of insight and inspiration. I rewatched their conversation again for inspiration after listenting to the Ted Talk. Their works, such as Gladwell's "Outliers: The Story of Success" and Grant's "Originals: How Non-Conformists Change the World," offer invaluable lessons on achievement, innovation, and the power of thinking differently. "Outliers: The Story of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell delves into the factors behind extraordinary success, challenging the notion of individual merit alone. Gladwell explores how external factors such as timing, cultural background, and opportunities play significant roles in shaping success. He introduces the concept of the "10,000-hour rule," suggesting that mastery in any field often requires extensive practice. Additionally, Gladwell highlights the importance of community support and cultural legacies in fostering achievement. On the other hand, Adam Grant's "Originals: How Non-Conformists Change the World" examines the characteristics and behaviors of innovators and change-makers. Grant argues that originality isn't necessarily innate but can be cultivated through deliberate actions. He emphasizes the importance of challenging conventional wisdom, taking calculated risks, and fostering a culture of experimentation. Grant also underscores the significance of embracing failure as a stepping stone to success and encourages readers to harness their creativity to effect meaningful change. Overall, both books offer profound insights into the nature of success and provide actionable lessons for individuals striving to make a difference in their respective fields.
By immersing myself in the wisdom shared by Grant and Gladwell, I continue to refine my approach to success, armed with a mindset of constant experimentation, learning, and adaptation. Their teachings reaffirm my belief in the limitless potential of curiosity, resilience, and hard work on the journey to fulfilling my aspirations.

Art Diaries : Getting back to painting
It’s been two months and three weeks since I picked the paint brush. I had to push myself to pick it up and when I finally did it on 7.02.24, I was nervous and terrified at the same time. My family doesn’t get it when I say I’m scared because as per them, it’s not like I have to prove myself to anyone or have a deadline to meet and who am I scared of, anyway? I’m scared of myself- of waking up…

(via Blink Think over Think Straight over Think Again)
“A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.” – William James
The life we live is a life of decisions and it needs thinking. The question that we need to always ask ourselves whether we are thinking the right way, more importantly asking question about our thinking, are we thinking straight or our thinking is circuitous and we keep confusing ourselves.
We usually tend to over think in some cases and other cases; we don’t get into the details before when we try to take decisions. In either way, we might end up on the wrong side of the stick making them mistake from which we wanted to protect ourselves.
The question of how do we think and what is the right way of think. What are thoughts and how do we separate the useful from the useless thoughts that circulating in our mind.
Blink is about what the concept of “thin slicing.” Gladwell defines this process as the moment of time in which we all make snap judgments.
Think Again is a book by Adam Grant about the benefit of doubt, and about how we can get better at embracing the unknown and the joy of being wrong.

Book of the Week No.18 Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell Rate: 10/10 Favorite Line: "The key to good decision making is not knowledge. It is understanding. We are swimming in the former. We are desperately lacking in the latter." Review: Malcolm Gladwell's "Blink" is a psychology book published in 2005 that discusses about the coordination of adaptive unconscious and experiences to generate a rapid cognition or insightful epiphany in just seconds. Perfect read for those who wants to master quick detail-observing and fast decision-making. So what is BLINK? Based on Malcolm it is a natural apparatus we, human beings honed that is capable of making very quick judgments based on a very little information. It is a by-product of our Adaptive Unconscious that is specifically an another version. Our unconscious is a powerful force. But it's fallible. And blink is when an unconscious is systematic and powerful enough to lessen (if not completely eradicate) the fallibility of our mind. I am so in loved with the narration of Mr.Gladwell. I was satisfied and entertained. I was able to finish this book at one sitting, about 9 hours of reading. I love how he gets these complex topics interwoven in a tight but just-telling-a-story structure. Mr. Gladwell's trademarks are the used of so much anecdotes when explaining something. This is evident in the book and its usage is vividly genius! I was really taken away and I just can't get enough on turning pages. Topics: *Kenna's Music Industry Journey *Pepsi Challenge *Aeron Chair *Abby Conant on Screen I like how he utilised these topics just to showcase the times when Blink may be tampered. It was delivered purposefully and formed an ultimate conclusion regarding about the second lesson of Blink. I really love how Mr. Gladwell makes social science and psychology thought-provoking using mundane narratives but compelling enough to be related with the topic. I will never regret buying my bookset of him! #nonfiction #books #novel #malcolmgladwell #Blink #thinking #decisionmaking #decide #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookreview #booklover #booknerd #bookaddict #bookphotography #goodreads https://www.instagram.com/p/CfokgTWpiON/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
