On this day in 1980, AC/DC released their most successful album to date, BACK IN BLACK. Following Bon Scott's untimely death on February 19, 1980, the band was uncertain about whether or not they should continue without him. But with the encouragement of Scott's family, they soon hired Brian Johnson to take over as their new lead singer and lyricist. They entered the studio to begin recording their next album in April, and by the end of May, they had produced what would become one of the biggest albums in rock history. To date, the album has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide. \m/

Kinda forgot how much I love AC/DC. Love both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, hell even begrudgingly will admit Axl Rose did/is doing a solid job as a live frontman. There's something so fundamental to it for me. Like Black Sabbath and Motorhead they were just sick as fuck rock before I started separating everything into sub-genres like hard rock and heavy metal.

Malcom and Angus. Angus is the show pony. Malcom is the work horse. I always liked Angus but eventually you listen closer and realize that Malcom is the one doing all the heavy lifting so angus can add all the fancy bits. Just standing in the back looking like the coolest son of bitch ever.
