Husky or Beagle lol
hmm i see do i want LOUD or LOUD. honestly i do like both of these breeds! huskies are funny in that drama-queen way and i'm not scared by the hair, and beagles are also very charming and cute as hell (i have a co-worker who breeds/shows beagles and i loooove her dogs). i think my preference just based on general aesthetics would be husky, but if i had to live with one i'd probably go beagle.

I recently had a seizure and I was tubed and sedated for a day or two because of seizure activity. It was insane to wake up in the hospital with no knowledge of what was going on in the slightest. I had the tube down my throat and I very vaguely remember the feeling of gagging as it was pulled out, but I barely remembered the next few days. I could barely speak and I had to almost shout to get any sound out. My mum is deaf and lip reads, and she couldn’t understand me at all when I was having to shout to make the sound of a whisper, so I started just mouthing things when I was speaking to her so she could read my lips properly. One thing I remember is realising they’d taken out all my piercings and panicking a bit. I couldn’t eat for days after, I had absolutely no appetite whatsoever. I also remember (I think) that they asked me what month it was and I said April or May.
It was the beginning of June.
It’s now been a little over a month and my voice is almost back to normal, but my brain is still a little bit fuzzy,

Service Dogs Lead to Fewer Seizures in Resistant Epilepsy

Service Dogs Lead to Fewer Seizures in Resistant Epilepsy
Working with medically trained service dogs is associated with a 31% reduction in seizures compared with usual care in treatment-resistant epilepsya new study showed. Investigators speculate that the dogs may ease participants’ stress, leading to a decrease in seizure frequency, although they note this relationship warrants more study. “Despite the development of numerous antiseizure medications […]

Save Youssef and Nour
This is Nour, a seven-year-old girl from Gaza. Before the genocide, she was like any other girl her age. Her first year of school was about to begin. She was excited; her parents had just bought her a brand-new backpack and she couldn't wait to show it off!
Just two weeks into her first school year, Israel launched its genocidal offensive on Gaza. Nour's education, along with her childhood, came to an abrupt end.
This is how Nour, and her brother Youssef (12), are living now:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite months of campaigning, Youssef and Nour's parents have only managed to raise a little over €7,000. With temperatures already dropping, they're increasingly worried about how they will survive another winter in Gaza. The tent they're living in leaks when it rains, and Salah, the father of the family, has been struggling to secure medicine for his epilepsy.
Initially, the family started the fundraiser with hopes of rebuilding. However, after multiple displacements and several near-death experiences, they’ve made the difficult decision to begin saving for an evacuation.
If you can, please consider donating so that Youssef and Nour may have some small semblance of security again!

Not to derail, just adding: People with chronic migraines also have photosensitivity issues and flashing lights/eyestrain can trigger a migraine. These can be excruciating and debilitating, so any effort to avoid triggering that is a basic kindness.
(They can also affect photosensitive autists and likewise cause pain or overstimulation)
Do you think giving warnings for "bright/neon colors" or "eyestrain" is stupid? Not in the case of actual epileptic lights, just colors
Yes
No
Instead of making this a poll, as someone with epilepsy I would like share that warnings are important, even when you don't have epilepsy. Lots of people end up having seizures in their life because of this (eyestrain, bright colors, and flashing lights), which is why companies and whoever is creating the thing should make sure to have warnings. Even when there are no flashing lights and just bright colors or eyestrain, people with epilepsy will sometimes have seizures from that, speaking from years of experience.
I think it's important to spread this message because not many people know much about it.
