The Last Indian Village…!! Mana is called the last Indian village, and you will find a trail wandering up to this tranquil village from Badrinath. The village houses natural escapes, religious sites, thriving rivers & waterfalls. According to Hindu texts, the way to heaven goes from here, and it is the place from where Pandavas took the route to their eternal journey. In the early 20th century, travellers take this route, not for heaven but to reach Tibet and capture a glimpse of the remotest corner of the country. The village is on the ancient trade route between India and Tibet and served to be an enterprising village during the bygone era from where travellers would purchase barley, buckwheat and rock salt for goats and yaks. However, these activities stopped after the 1962 war with China. This last Indian village Mana is about 50 km from the Sino-Indian border and currently depends upon the pilgrim activities and travellers exploring the remoteness and adventures of the place. बता दें समुद्र तल से 18,000 फुट की ऊंचाई पर बसे इस गांव का नाम माणा है। यहां की मनमोहक वादियां, गंगा घाट, गंगा आरती, योग रिट्रीट और शांतिप्रिय आश्रम दुनिया भर में मशहूर है जिन्हें देखने के लिए देसी ही नहीं बल्कि विदेशी भी बेताब रहते हैं। बद्रीनाथ से तीन किमी की दूरी पर बसे इस गांव के आसपास कई दर्शनीय स्थल हैं। यहां पर सरस्वती और अलकनंदा नदियों का संगम होता है।

माणा में एक चाय की दुकान है जो बहुत मशहूर है। दरअसल यहां  'भारत की आखिरी चाय की दुकान' है। दूर-दूर से आए लोग इस दुकान के सामने खड़े होकर फोटो खींचवाते हैं। इस गांव से आगे कोई रास्ता नहीं जाता। थोड़ा आगे भारतीय सेना का कैंप है। यहां ठंड के दिनों में बेहद ही अद्भुत नजारे देखने को मिलते हैं।

कहा जाता है कि छह महीने तो ये जगह पूरी बर��फ से ही ढकी रहती है, जिस वजह से यहां रहने वाले लोग सर्दी शुरू होने से पहले नीचे स्थित चामोली जिले चले जाते हैं। यहां दुनिया का एक मात्र ऐसा कॉलेज ह�� जो छह महीने चामोली में चलता है और छह महीने माणा में चलता है।
