i got highly distracted on twitter today by new pics of rd j in that lowcut tanktop outfit, did a quick study at first, then told myself to focus on work again but then saw @spider-mancan and @peteyougottaletgo tweet something funny and had that spontaneous impulse to take a break and doodle it/ make it starker

For the tropes: didn't know they were dating, coffee shop aus, unpowered/all-human aus (👀)!

Didn't Know They Were Dating: B! I'm not going to plug it in to specifically search for but it's a solid trope and one that will pique my interest if I see it in the tags/summary. Great for both fluff/comedy and angst-- the "one person thinks they're 'just' FWB and is angsty about it but the other person fully thinks they're dating" variant is a fave!

Coffee Shop AUs / Unpowered AUs: I'm lumping these together because they're pretty much the same answer-- C~D. Mundane AUs are basically a "ehhh probably not… unless," for me! With the "unless" being that I'll give it a try if something else about the premise or writing sparks my attention. Some other tropes inherently supersede the "probably not" like omegaverse, arranged marriage or historical AUs, and strong/punchy writing in the summary (or an author that I trust) will also get me to give them a shot. (Everyone read @spider-mancan Touchpoint, it is SO good.)

Speaking generally, if a canon has fantastical elements then that's a big part of the appeal to me and stripping those elements away for a fic is going to also strip away its appeal, thus the need for a Something Else to catch my attention.

With Starker in specific, the way that being superheroes influences both Tony and Peter's characters and their dynamic together is a big part of what I find compelling about them as a ship! I like that Tony has all the social power but Peter is the one that's more physically powerful, I like the way that the superhero context inherently puts them in a very small peer group and heightens the potential for codependency and mutual understanding, I love their mutual guilt complexes and that tends to be lessened as a character feature in mundane AUs, etc.

Maxson Bassinal- Player one, the main guy, he's in blue. He has a southern accent of voice lines and is a happy go lucky guy! He's the leader of the group of them and the basic ship mancanic and turbo wanted to be but couldn't. Also his ultimate is just a big blast to the enemy.

Lily Pinsasional- player 2, the main women that turbo knew he couldn't do anything with her code. She's in pink, she's Max's right had man, or in this case women and also the main tank of the group. Her ship is a very defence ship mancanic, and when upset or in ultimate is the defense goes down a little, by one star to up the attack and speed star up by one her voice is maybe more mixed with flutter shy and Enterenal sugar.

Last but Sertanly not lest

Veronica Greational! Player 3! She's more technical things like codeing, computer skills, hacking all that jazz. Her voice line is vee's caretaker headcannon also someone else. Her ship is more attack then defense, her ultimate is making her attack and speed up two stars to max for only 15 to 10 seconds. She knows something is wrong is 'Tucker' but it's just a hunch she has twords him, I mean he knows coding as much or even better then her! And she doesn't know that the original Tucker, player four wasn't really a coder and originally a art like introvert.

Weight of the World

Ivy had chosen to hide in her room for the day. It hit her suddenly, the overwhelming sense of family and acceptance she had been experiencing. And with that came an overwhelming sense of loneliness and othering. It hurt. She thought she had gotten past this, but it always, always came back. The nagging thoughts at the back of her head that she wasn’t really accepted, wasn’t really wanted. She buried herself further under the covers as if they could shield her from the horrible thoughts. 

Outside the chantry bells rang out as the afternoon service signalled its end. Just past that she could hear the faintest sound of the Opera house as the orchestra warmed itself up. She missed when music was a better source of comfort to her. Letting out a sigh, she rolled over, trying to shut it out. All of it. Usually she’d find a way to vent her feelings out like picking off a handful of ghasts or deepstalkers but there weren’t any here. And hunting Antaam was out. She didn’t want to risk messing anyone’s operations up and the thing that weighed on her the most… how fussed and concerned Illario had seemed when she came back last time. 

Which of course spiraled her into a whole other complication. While she was fairly certain, in her very special pessimistic way, that whatever she had going on with Illario was casual, the way he treated her had her constantly second guessing. And second guessing his intentions and feelings had her second guessing her own. And as she examined them a little more deeply that she preferred, she started realizing she was starting to toe closer to a line she was afraid to cross. 

Which then rolled her right into Neros. She liked him. A LOT. His way with her made her feel… understood. Seen. He got her without needing to say a word and the way she caught him worshipping her with his eyes when he thought she didn’t notice. Or perhaps he did? Running her hands up and down her face in frustration, she struggled to understand what he saw in her. What either of them saw in her really. And things were progressing fairly quick. *Too quick.* She was starting to catch the inkling of feels and she was–to be blunt–scared. She was living on borrowed time. She knew that. And she had no desire to drag someone else down that road with her. It was kinder for everyone if she kept her distance. 

Pushing herself out of bed, she ambled her way towards the window and pushed the shutters open. The sound of the chantry bells resounded through the city as they clanged their final chime. The sound of the marketplace rose up to replace it, offering a steady rhythm one could hone in on. Especially when one added the sound of the gondolas and carts passing through the city’s byways. The feelings of fear and loneliness welled themselves up so suddenly within her breast, she found no other way she could express herself. And so for the first time in a very long time, she sang. (In perfect Antivan, no less!)
