LOREEN @ MANCHESTER ACADEMY

Well, Saturday night proved to be interesting. Stood before me was a six-foot goddess dressed head to foot in black, with plated armour and claws for nails (a bit Edward Scissorhands) and goes under the name of Loreen real name - Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui. She is best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest twice, once in 2012 and then in 2023 with Tattoo, making her the first woman to achieve this feat. Her sound fuses electronic, pop, and atmospheric influences, and she is recognized for her unique voice, deeply emotive performances, and visually striking stage presence.

A stunning performer, but it was a really challenging show to shoot, with the dreaded strobes, backlights and 12 photographers clamouring for that one shot. Here are some of my favourite shots.

HOT MILK | WITCH FEVER @ MANCHESTER ACADEMY

Finally, I got the chance to photograph the hottest band in Manchester right now. This band are gathering fans by the truckload, selling out all across the UK and beyond. The photo pit was rammed with around 9 photographers and 6 security people, so ducking and diving and weaving between everyone was a challenge, add to that the frenzied performance and challenging lights, its surprising I got anything. However, I did and came out buzzing, what a blast that was.

Another Manchester band, who have been on the scene for a number of years now were supporting - Witch Fever. Front person Amy wasn't too well and had a sick bucket ready in the wings just in case, but they didn't disappoint and I'm sure made a few fans tonight.

Gig Friends!

Okay so I listen to bands like Papa Roach, A day to Remember, Asking Alexandria, Linkin Park, Don Broco, you all know the type. Problem is i literally have ZERO friends interested in this sort of music at all which means I end up at gigs on my own all of the time. It's becoming the bane of my life and people neeeeed to reach out to me from the Manchester area.
