Just entertained the idea of Victor noticing that his former mech armour that he got yeeted out of. It’s being used for some research or something, Vic ain’t happy about it - so he goes to check it out and notices that Alex left a sign 😂 Motivated more than ever mostly out of spite, Vic decides to go take a closer look at the place he used to live in, and gets stuck inside it as it’s springs shut on him! HAHA 😆

It’s gonna be one of those things that must see the light of day as a drawing! ❤️ Also, I loved how you described the Terrans too, I love how they were so concerned. Alex showing up was the highlight though, what a wholesome read this was. I loved this so much

The ideas have been coming nonstop since @sveene and I have started chatting.

So some context for this short fic: Mandroid is back, still stuck in his Final Form but he's now an anti-hero of sorts. He's working with GHOST now and the Terrans make it a point to torment him as much they can. This is my first time writing the Terrans, so I apologize for any OOC ness.

Happiness

The process of pulling on Mandroid’s tail had become routine at this point. One of the Terrans would perform the action, he’d snarl and swing his tail, say something, and then stomp away in annoyance. It was a very stupid idea considering Mandroid’s history, but the Terrans were of the opinion that he deserved it. Twitch, Thrash, and Hashtag were the main culprits with Jawbreaker and Nightshade rarely joining in.

The robotic siblings had worked out a system to figure out whose turn it was and today it was Twitch. In truth, a part of her was worried that one day Mandroid would reach his breaking point. He had sort of been on his best behavior lately, although the frequent accidents were starting to make her wonder.

His tail was a few feet from her now. Pushing her fears out of her mind, she smiled and grabbed the currently swinging appendage. Nothing happened. She pulled again. Still nothing. Cocking her head to the side, she flew around to see his face.

“Man… Doctor Meridian?” He was staring into space with a smile. She made eye contact with the other Terrans who were just as confused as she was. “Hello? Earth to Mandroid?” The fact he didn’t even have any reaction to his nickname was concerning.

She went over to her siblings. “I think Mandroid’s broken.”

“That smile he has is pretty freaky.” Thrash commented. 

“It looks like a different smile than the ones I’m used to seeing on him.” Nightshade added.

“I get what you mean.” Hashtag replied. She looked thoughtful. “It looks… peaceful.”

“He’s probably imagining off-lining all of us.” Thrash huffed.

“No, his smile would be scary.” Jawbreaker said.

“What are you all so serious about?” Alex asked as he walked in.

“Dad!” the Terrans cried in unison. All of them started talking at once, informing the man of what was happening.

Alex raised his hands to calm his children down. Despite so many voices, he was able to make out what they said.

“I’ll talk to him since you all are so concerned about it.” The Terrans huddled in a group to watch as their dad approached the scientist.

“Hello Stephen!” he said cheerfully.

The mech’s body jumped slightly, whatever trance he was in broken. He turned to look at his old friend.

His face and tone were friendly. “Hello Alex, it’s always a pleasure when you stop by my lab.”

“I’m surprised you responded to me.”

Mandroid raised a brow. “Why is that?”

The smaller man laughed. “Twitch pulled your tail a few times and said you didn’t do anything.”

He narrowed his eyes in confusion. “She did? I didn’t notice.”

“The kids said you looked really happy just now. A content sort of happy.”

His tail twitched in a mixture of embarrassment and irritation. “I didn’t realize my feelings were a vital topic of discussion.” He glared at the Terrans for a moment, then relaxed before Alex could say anything.

“It’s nice seeing you look genuinely happy again.”

Mandroid gestured with his organic right hand. “You don’t seem surprised at that fact.”

A know it all grin appeared on Alex’s face. “I figured it’d happen sooner or later.”

The scientist’s expression became expectant. “Oh? And who do you say that?”

He patted an organic hand and winked. “Because I’ve seen the way you look at Tara.” He walked away, leaving his friend sputtering.

finally, oml, it took forever to get these together...

hello yes this took too long anyway-

when I asked for the pics of bumblebee with his beetle alt mode, I was searching for references for this goober— in both forms.

but why does this vagabond have two forms? well, uh, i’ll tell you.

the first Vagabond is actually him during the war and the first appearance we get of him (if he were in the show). It’s his generic g1 1960s Fiat mode, but tampered with to fit the more modern style (thanks war-time bumblebee).

the thing you all need to understand about war-time Vagabond is that he was batshit crazy; The second he showed up on the battlefield- everyone had to run kinda crazy. He’s small but he’s nimble and he had a whole range of weapons just stored on him at all times, including two mini machine gun-like blasters inside his arms.

Yikes.

anyway, in this universe: Vagabond takes bumblebee’s silhouette to remain a de-facto decepticon spy.

unlike in other universes: he has ghost stripes. the faint, barely noticeable racing stripes that usually would be (and will turn into) the green and red ones we see often. His entire appearance was manufactured to be about stealth and agility… even if his personality and character were the opposite. it’s what made him a fearsome opponent.

[edit: he also has this modified vocalizer where he can scream. once activated, it’s like— super sonic. you could hear him miles away. Very cool to me, so I wanted to include that detail I keep forgetting]

well, until the war… ended. Vagabond would be at the beginning of the final battle, but would be severely injured by Megatron thanks to him switching teams. he would be taken off the field to be repaired by his war buddies swindle and hardtop (omg who woulda guessed), but they get distracted by the battle and have to join anyway.

Vagabond, in his weakened state, would be.. uh… kidnapped. By a human. A highly-mechanically literate rabid Decepticon stan, if you will. He would be locked in stasis by a restraining bolt, keeping him in his alt-mode and unable to move.

Vagabond would be taken away and locked in a garage for the next 10-15 years lmao, only to be in the presence of just humans who come around to marvel at the fact they had a real transformer— a real decepticon transformer. it didn’t matter if Vagabond was basically paralyzed and in pain for a big chunk of that time, no?!????

Vagabond wouldn’t be found until 15 years later, thanks to the help of the Terrans, Bumblebee, Swindle, and Hardtop (this would be after season 1 realistically). while bumblebee was a bit, uh, nervous about reviving one of his fiercest opponents (who must’ve been stuck in time honestly), swindle and hardtop were ecstatic and removed Vagabond from stasis.

Vagabond… doesn’t immediately come out guns blazing. Huh? What’s this? see, being stuck by yourself with only your thoughts for over a decade, it takes a tole. He went through the damn five stages of grief in that time lmao.

Vagabond comes around and he’s just tired, man. He sees his old teammates and he’s just happy. He’s free, starving, and oh so tired of being around humans… and being in his alt mode, seriously. None of his war scars got buffed out or anything. He’s a living time capsule to the Terrans of the war.

thankful that he was freed, Vagabond goes on his merry fucking way. he doesn’t even look twice at bumblebee, who is still a little freaked out about seeing him. hardtop and swindle follow, of course, and they live happily ever after.

nah, but for real— after he gets all fixed up and picks a new alt mode for the first time in almost 20 years (look at second design)— Vagabond gets filled in about alllll that he’s missed during his time being, well, kidnapped. He learns about G.H.O.S.T, the Terrans/cybersleeves, Mandroid, the fact the war started again, and, of course, Megatron’s betrayal status.

Vagabond does not give a fuuuuck dude. He’s probably the only decepticon that does not care about megatron’s betrayal. He’s had a couple years to mull about it and be angry, but to him—in the end— it didn’t even matter.

(the whole G.H.O.S.T and mandroid thing fuck him up though, he hates humans already and that info just makes him more weary of the bastards.)

But, the one thing that he’s strangely passionate about— is the kids! the babies! the Terrans!!

because they had a big hand in his release from captivity, he respects them deeply. which is why, upon being told about their upbringings and the.. uh.. way they’re treated by the cons and humans……

he’s not very happy. the fact that it’s been so long that there are literally transformer kids makes him feel good. like there was a meaning to being in that stupid war.

so, basically, Vagabond becomes an honorary babysitter. he wants nothing but good things for these kids (and even warms up slightly to Mo and Robbie— shocker!)

And up to the end of the show, he comes around a few times. He’s usually hanging out with his old besties, but he’ll show up sometimes just to take care of the Terrans if he’s needed. He has the decepticon insignia on him for the philosophy, like Megatron, and not the current state of the war— so the Maltos accept it… because he’s the one of the only cons that aren’t trying to destroy the Terrans LMAAOOO

anyway that’s it I hoped y’all liked that info dump. I’m glad I got him redesigned because ew that old design made me upset.

(TL;DR: earthspark vagabond is a retired veteran and is done with everyone’s shit. in the meantime, he becomes a babysitter.)

So like in my horror verse, Mandroid A.K.A “Vic” is an anti-hero. He’s been brought back and given a second chance at life, Alex asked him for his help as humanity now faces a new threat - The Plague Virus. Brought to Earth, ironically enough, by none other than Mandroid himself after he returned through the space-bridge.

GHOST continue to fund the scientist’s upgrades and this time, he’s their project. Earth has less than a year before the Plague spreads out of control and both the Transformers and Humans world will be changed forever.

Guess it’s a good thing he’s got side-kicks like Twitch to add even more misery to his days then? 😂 I had to draw this scene because I liked how Twitch tried to reach out to Mandroid, back when he was still human. I figure she helps keep him human despite that he is so far removed from them at this point. So here she is making fun of him and making him wear stupid sunglasses cause they’re like his lil’ windows now

So I’ve decided to make a horror-verse version of Mandroid, who we will call ‘Victor’. In this au, Vic is reincarnated after the healing ray undoes the damage his energy weapon caused. After being brought back, Vic finds himself at a crossroads in life. His ultimate weapon was a failure and it cost him his life, seemingly for nothing. He is approached by Alex Malto, who still wishes to extend a show of friendship to the man he once knew. Vic is hesitant but also in a great deal of shock. With nothing to look forward to, he begrudgingly accepts and, in a sense’ ‘teams up’ with his former enemies against a new threat.

The new threat being the Plague Virus that is not only a threat to their face, but also to humanity as well. Mandroid’s original goal was to protect humanity no matter what, so that is still his objective. He’s definitely not going to be easy work for them, though. He still has much to sort through mentally as well as physically, as his form continues to be upgraded. I’m hoping to explore more of it with some comic panels going forward. Somehow I can’t get it out of my head, the idea of Mandroid becoming an anti-hero. It was necessary, I had to make it happen 😂👌🏼

It’s been ages since I did anything with my horror-verse but since chatting with @monocle-teacup I kinda feel inspired to now.

Chatting and rping with @turtwap and she had this awesome head-canon about her OC Sky having to fight Vic/Helldroid. In the horror verse au I’m working on, GHOST constantly upgrade his cybernetic body, to make it easier for the scientist to work/research/collect data out in the field, where it’s extremely dangerous being around the Plagued transformers - however, sometimes their performance enhancing drugs send Victor feral - That’s where his friend Sky comes in - And I’m guessing this is the face she’d be greeted with 😂

Made myself sad drawing this. So like, I was thinking about how sad it must be for Mandroid, stuck inside the Final Form mech armour. Keep thinking about him in the rain, probably enjoying the sound of it on his lil’ windows. Kinda feel like he’d enjoy watching it, maybe? Nothing much else for him to do stuck like he is.

I figure he’s just a big snake mech thing inside, prolly loads of cables and wires everywhere. Maybe he is somewhat unfinished - I still think that it’s very likely he struck up a deal/s with the Sharkticons, potentially some other races perhaps. He would’ve gotten what he wanted in this form, but I also think he’d would’ve been thinking ‘…Why did I ask for this..’

Been fixating on how Final Form’s laser chest weapon works. He’s got a lot of organic stuff going on as well so here’s my idea - feel free to ask questions if it’s not clear enough.

Kinda feel like using the chest cannon is a last resort for him, probably gives him stitch or something as well as depleting loads of energy

So yeah I have this idea that Mandroid could be an epic anti-hero. Imagine he this recruited by his former enemies, because of some new, worse threat… and they make life hard for him in the base. So many pranks. Ahahahahahah. I hope he comes back in season 2 I’m literally tying myself in knots wondering about it.

Chatting with @monocle-teacup and I was just thinking about season 2 of Earthspark.

What if Mandroid had some shady deal going on with either the Sharkticons or Quintessons on his space-bridge journey? What if having his life saved came at a cost? What if in season 2 it’s time to pay up and they yeet him out of the armour he had as Final Form, which was probably only ever borrowed anyway and yeah.. Now dude has to figure out how he’s gonna pay them back - Or maybe yet another deal, another debt… Different form? Just a thought

There’s also the problem of him killing off the Sharkticons with his weapon, even though he promised not to…

Just been watching ep 25 of Transformers Earthspark and noticed something interesting: Is it just me, or does it look like Mandroid’s final form might have had the potential to fully transform?

Let me explain;

So, we see in the episode that clearly he does have some ability to alter his form, such as the extendable tail/detachable trident spear and the window visor that we are first greeted with in the intro.

He had that laser chest thing going on, which had the distinctive ability to open up or close. It looks to me like the idea was there, but potentially got scrapped due to some design/time constraints or the fact that maybe it was better to see the very last part of his human self more in the last ep?? So we don’t forget that he is a human dude in that armour, and the vibe of the show was strongly centred on human issues.

Just really fascinating stuff cause to me it looks like he could turn into something else and I have to wonder if this is a deliberate move, does it imply that he could return in season 2? Clearly there’s a lot going on to allude to this in the episode.

The conspicuous organic arms that can stretch - kinda got me thinking ‘The dude is so adaptable and flexible minded that he can stretch his potential limitlessly. If he was able to conjure up the nightmare fuel final form, what else is possible?

Even though we see him die, we do not see what the healing ray effect has on him by the end of the episode. It resurrected all Energon beings the same way his weapon took them out, and that included him too. With the design he has being as unusual and wonderful as it was, I can’t accept that ep 25 is the end for him.

One of the first things we hear him say in the ep is ‘I’ve had a transformative journey through the space bridge’ - Why these words in particular? Wasn’t that already obvious?

I think the statement is driving home a point - Maybe the dude isn’t quite done yet and ‘transformative journey’ could allude to what happens next, after his supposed death.

Though, I think @monocle-teacup and I are somewhat dreading it given what we saw in a certain game recently 😂

I'm gonna be honest I never considered Mandroid as an interesting character until your blog. When watching ES I was kinda mostly there for Breakbee shipping and MegaSound divorce arc lmao. I've been missing out on some food haven't I?

It’s weird how it happened for me - I somewhat liked him at first, liked him more when the story progressed but then when I saw that Final Form weirdness, I was sold~
