Reply-Reply to Manyblinkinglights: Issues of Scale
manyblinkinglights said: they r SO SMALL.
XD They ARE! they are Teeny; they are TEENY-TIIINY XD XD Sorry I missed this comment it got pushed out of my notifs before I could see it -___-
For the sake of Thoroughness, and also Science:

Counting bases, HB tops out at something like 3.7cm while Archer, the Absolute Chad-Queen, brings in a rounder, more respectable 4cm. She's a WHOLE MILLIMETER over 1.5 inches!!! And ppl say elves are short PFFT!
#manyblinkinglights#reply replies#zA Hobbies#Hobbyposts#Elf Rangers#I really need to come up with better names for these two#Archer and The Runt#:?#of course: given her 'Im running at your face; Im shooting at your face; Eat a Bolt and Then my Sword Ill kill you in the Face!' vibes#I'd imagine she's the one in charge. I mean: Quite Literally right?#:p :p

i can’t tell if you’re making fun of me/of tone indicators or if you’re in earnest
not incidentally, /rh or /rt is “rhetorical [question]” and /g or /gen is “genuine [question]”
i feel awkward using these things since lots of people don’t know what they mean, but, i do also frequently find myself having to clarify whether i/others mean a question genuinely or rhetorically, so it seemed worth a try
still annoyed the “rhetorical” one only applies to questions tho

One day, @manyblinkinglights will create the world's first actual alive gryphon, in real life. And whenever it tries to sit in a chair, its nervous system will glitch such that it has to do Caramelldansen instead. (leftover from testing phase)

Reply-Reply to Manyblinkinglights: Husbandry and Mountain Ecologies
manyblinkinglights said:
Damn and like. They clearly maintain trapcaves that they can trap large prey with! That’s the whole point! So presumably they can yeah get at mountain goats and bears and travelers and just generally predate anything in or around the mountain.
Yup! This immediately inspired me with the idea of, like, trapdoor-style traps; food falls in and come night you go get your meal ^v^
...And THAT led to me remembering the GamesWorkshop association of Goblins with giant spiders, which brings to mind a goblin settlement maintaining the burrows of a few giant trapdoor spiders, maybe helping to care for their eggs, in exchange for some of their food :> :>
...AND THAT led me to thinking of Goblins raising Giant Tarantulas as, like, hunting pets/partners :> :> :>
Really liking these ideas for chiller, more part-of-the-ecosystem takes on Alpine Goblin communities, honestly uwu uwu uwu uwu

Adventure Time: Assessment: Summary: Colons
So I finished watching all of Adventure Time recently and I want to say [EDIT 1]three four things:
I can honestly say there wasn’t a single episode I thought was bad in the whole run, which is a pretty big accomplishment. And plenty that I thought were really, really good.
@manyblinkinglights I think you would really like the Islands miniseries, particularly Imaginary Resources(Islands 4; S8E23), Helpers(Islands 7; S8E26), and Light Cloud(Islands 8, S8E27). And, they’re pretty stand-alone aside from some plot-irrelevant spoilers about Finn and Susan’s origins, so you could just watch them straight-away rather than slogging through a chronowatch like I did until you get to them.
At time of airing, I remember there being some discourse about whether the Fionna & Cake episodes were cruelly mocking fans and fan-works, but watching them I didn’t really get that sense. There’s some jokes about fandom in there absolutely, but it’s gentle ribbing at most, imv.
[EDIT 1]WAIT! Adventure Time handles Finn and Fern much better than Homestuck does Dave and Davesprite or Dirk and Lil’Hal.

THEY TEACH THAT SHIT IN THERAPY? WHY THE HELL DIDN’T ANYBODY SEND ME TO THERAPY
yeah my dude, cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt) and dialectical behavioral therapy (dbt) are all about relearning how to think about the world! so it’s like, if you have a tendency to catastrophize, one of the ways to combat that is to look at the situation and say, “the worst outcome is this,” which helps you 1. be prepared for that outcome, and 2. realize it’s not as bad as it sounded before.
idk all what they use cbt and dbt for (in my experience, it’s mostly for borderline personality disorder), or what you’ve got going on, but it may be worth it to like google some of the stuff and see if anything else applies to you.
#manyblinkinglights#replies#cbt tends to be more generalized#whereas dbt was made specifically for people with bpd if i remember correctly#dbt is way more regimented#cbt is a better starting point i think

AH OK COOL thank you that makes sense! hmmm but then why do i experience it as a problem, a significant drain on resources. limited energy i guess? or isolation maybe—like my brain is deconditioned to this exercise

What is the fantasy novel where an unpleasant guy makes the mistake of being mean to a woman who's very clearly the heroine of a different fantasy novel, and gets turned into her horse (normal, non-talking) to learn valuable life lessons? And I think she remains unaware that her horse is both sentient and rude (plausibility = ???)
(I'm only like 60% sure that this was a real book now that I've scanned a list of Mercedes Lackey titles and found nothing that sounds right.)
