Classic Bathroom Design
Whether you’re planning to remodel your home or are just looking to make improvements, there are some timeless elements that will give your bathroom a classic look. These include the use of Shaker style cabinets, a Walnut stained cabinetry, Natural or faux-natural materials, and Freestanding cast iron baths.
Shaker style cabinetry
Whether you are remodeling your bathroom or looking for a new vanity, you can’t go wrong with Shaker style cabinetry. This classic cabinet style has been around for over two centuries. Its simplicity makes it a great choice for any interior.
Shaker style cabinets feature four raised pieces and a recessed panel at the center. These cabinets are available in a variety of colors and finishes. You can also choose hardware to complement your home’s style.
The most common color is white. However, black cabinets can be dramatic and add a stylish touch to your room. You can also choose from lighter shades of blue and green to create a peaceful environment.
Shaker style cabinets are made from a variety of woods. You can choose hardwood or birch for your cabinets. These wood types work best with traditional styled rooms. Walnut is a rich looking wood that looks great in kitchens.
Walnut-stained cabinets
Whether you’re putting together your first bathroom or a full remodel, a walnut stained cabinet in classic bathroom design is a great way to add warmth and style. This type of cabinetry is made from natural woods that have complex compounds that trigger an oxidation cycle, and therefore darken over time.
Walnut is a hard-wearing and beautiful wood. It’s especially beautiful when it’s stained and polished. Walnut cabinetry is also eco-friendly. Walnut is more durable than maple and oak, and it collects less dust.
Walnut stained cabinets can be painted, varnished, or lacquered. Most people opt for a clear coat finish, which helps to enhance the rich color of the wood.
When you’re putting together a bathroom makeover, you should consider using light colors that create contrast and create a balanced look. This is especially true if you are incorporating darker stains.
Granite countertop
Adding a granite countertop to your bathroom is a timeless way to enhance the look of your home. Not only does granite look great, but it is also incredibly durable. It is easy to maintain, and is resistant to scratches, stains, and spills.
Granite counter tops are also available in a variety of colors. You can opt for a rich chocolate, cappuccino, or beige color. The color you choose will be dependent on your bathroom’s overall design scheme. For example, if you have a white bathroom, you might consider a white granite countertop. Similarly, if your bathroom has cool undertones, you might want to consider a gray granite countertop.
Granite also comes in many different patterns, and these patterns have a lot to offer. The patterns range from large sweeping movements to tightly packed granules. These patterns give each installation its own look.
Freestanding cast iron baths
Choosing a freestanding cast iron bath can be a great way to enhance the design of your bathroom. These tubs can be an elegant statement piece, or they can be minimalist designs that are perfect for a modern bathroom. They come in a variety of styles and finishes, so you can choose the one that will work best in your home.
Cast iron baths are known for their longevity. They are made from thick, pure iron that is poured into a mold and then glazed with a heavy layer of enamel. This makes them durable and easy to maintain. They can be cleaned with almost any chemical without causing damage to the enamel.
Cast iron baths are also known for their ability to keep warm water hot. They are a great choice for those with sensitive skin.
Natural or faux-natural materials
Adding natural or faux-natural materials to your classic bathroom design can make your space look and feel more sophisticated. The best material choices are those that are found in nature, such as stone, wood and other natural textures.
Wood is a common natural material for a bathroom vanity or tub. Wood is durable and comes in a variety of different shades and types. Maple, oak and cherry are common types of wood used.
If you are looking for a more timeless feel, try using a freestanding bathtub and wood trim. The combination can make the room feel bright and welcoming.
Metals can also be an important part of a classic bathroom design. These can be used in many different areas of the bathroom, from faucets to trim around the mirrors.

How do you update your bathroom in 2023
Understanding your bathroom is the first step.
What features are most important to you? What are your priorities?
Start looking at products that match your requirements.
Although you might not find exactly what you are looking for, there are many options for you to choose from.
Here are some things to consider:
Size – How big are your bathrooms? You may need to make some changes to accommodate the new fixtures or appliances.
Style – Which style do you prefer? Contemporary, traditional, etc.? Style – Bathrooms can be designed in a variety of styles, including transitional, modern and traditional. The traditional style is popular since Victorian times. It features natural stone floors. Modern bathrooms have sleek lines and glass finishes. They also feature open-plan layouts. Transitional designs combine elements from both traditional and contemporary styles.
Layout – Some people prefer smaller spaces, while others enjoy more space. How do you want to arrange your bathroom?
Colour Scheme – What colours do you want in your bathroom?
Lighting – How bright do you need it? And where is it coming from?
Storage – Do you need extra storage space in your bathroom? Do you have enough storage space in your bathroom? Do you have enough storage space?
Ventilation – Does your bathroom have adequate ventilation?
Features – You need to think about how many features you would like in your new bathroom. A heated towel rack or steam shower might be something you’d like. Would you prefer a Jacuzzi, or a spa bathtub? Would you like a walk-in shower or a separate shower and bathtub combination?
Budget – Finally, you should consider how much you can afford. This will help limit your options and ensure that you don’t spend too much.
Warranty – Check to see if any manufacturer offers an extended warranty. This means they guarantee that their products will work properly for a certain period.
Once you’ve identified what you are looking for, it is time to begin shopping for products. You can search online, in magazines or in stores. When you find the item you love, compare prices. Read reviews before you make a purchase.
What will be the trend for bathroom decor in 2023?
Although bathroom decor trends change constantly, certain themes have been in fashion since the beginning. These themes are covered below.
Minimalism: The concept behind minimalism means to get rid of all the clutter in our homes. It could also mean clearing out cupboards and shelves to remove unnecessary clutter and replace them with functional items. It’s also important to keep everything simple and straightforward.
Urban Living – Many people love living in cities. Urban dwellers nowadays want to live in areas that allow them to enjoy the outdoors. When moving to a new city, they don’t want to lose touch with nature and green space. They moved back to smaller homes and apartments with smaller gardens.
Eco-Friendly: People are becoming more mindful of their environment. In turn, this has led to a rise in eco-friendly designs. Green design focuses its efforts on creating healthy and sustainable spaces. There are many ways designers can create eco-friendly properties. Designers can incorporate natural materials into their designs. Another way is to make sure the home’s appearance does not distract from its surroundings.
Shabby Chic- Shabby Chic is one style that came out of necessity and was not fashionable. Women were forced to use old clothes during World War II to save resources. After the war ended, they began collecting vintage pieces and repurposing them. Today, shabby chic can be used in many design areas including furniture, accessories and food.
Artistic Design-Artistic design has been around since the beginning of time. Artists have always sought to express themselves through their work. As technology advances, so does artistic design. We can now combine digital art with 3D printing to create unique objects not possible elsewhere.
Industrial Design: Industrial design isn’t new. It is a concept that dates back to hundreds of years. The access to industry that industrial design has today makes it unique is what makes it so special. Participation in industrial design is possible without having to be part of large corporations. Everything is possible with the internet.
Modernist Architecture – Modernist architecture is based on traditional design elements such as symmetry and order. Instead, Modernist Architecture focuses more on asymmetry than order. This allows architects the freedom to experiment with various shapes and sizes. Open floor plans are also available, with clean lines and blank walls.
Contemporary Design – Contemporary design blends both traditional and contemporary influences. It is a blend of all kinds of design that gives you something unique and fresh that takes your taste buds along for a ride.
Nature Inspired – Nature-inspired design is all about bringing nature inside. Fountains add water to any space, and plants and flowers can bring life to it. Some great examples of nature-inspired interior decorating are:
Rustic Interior Decoration – If rustic is your preference, you can use cedar siding or barn wood. These elements give the rooms a farmhouse look that can be used in any setting.
French Country Interiors – If the country is your favorite, but you hate the cold, it’s worth adding a few touches of French country design. Choose simple colours, pastel hues, and soft furnishings. Try painting the walls a light colour and placing some french provincial chairs in the room. Here, you’ll be able to relax during the warm months.
Bohemian Style: If you love the idea of living in a city but still want a little bit of country, then the bohemian design is for you. Think earthy colors, soft fabrics and minimal decorations.
What is the ROI for a bathroom remodeling project in Metro Vancouver
A bathroom remodel can be expensive. But if it is done well, it can bring in a lot of money. HomeAdvisor says that mid-range bathroom redesigns can yield an average of 70% return on investment. However, upscale bathroom renovations typically have an ROI of 60%. This means that if you spend $20,000 on a mid-range bathroom renovation in Metro Vancouver, you can expect to see a return of $14,000. Spend $40,000 on a high-end bathroom remodel and you will see a return in the neighborhood of $24,000
You will get a different ROI depending on the quality of the remodel, current market conditions, and location of your house. However, if you’re planning on selling your home shortly, a bathroom remodel is worth considering. You will be able to make your home more appealing for potential buyers. It could also help you sell your home at a higher price.
Even if your goal is to sell your house in the near future, a bathroom remodel could still prove to be a good investment. A bathroom remodel that is well designed and executed can improve the value of your home as well as increase its enjoyment. A bathroom remodel is worth looking into, whether you are looking for a way to increase the home’s market value or to make your space more inviting and modern.
How do you upgrade a bathroom without spending a lot?
Take stock of everything that you have. This could include toilets as well as mirrors, sinks and mirrors.
Once you’ve completed this list, you need to determine whether any items are salvageable or not. If they are not salvageable, they should be replaced.
Next, determine how much money each item will cost you. Once you know the total amount of money you want to allocate for these items, you can begin shopping around for replacement parts online or at local hardware stores.
Finally, you can update your bathroom once you have your new parts. This may include painting the walls, tiling the floors, or replacing old fixtures with new ones. You should stick to your budget, no matter what route you take.

How to hire contractors for bathroom remodelling projects
It is not easy to remodel a bathroom. There are many steps that must be taken, including finding the right contractor, choosing materials, hiring them and getting estimates. Then, you have to sign contracts and start the work. You don’t want any mistakes and you want to get the job done quickly. These tips will help you to find and hire the best contractor for your bathroom remodelling projects:
Start looking online. You have many options for bathroom remodeling. You can look for contractors through websites like Trustedpros, Houzz, and others. Most sites will let you enter your zipcode to view local contractors with positive reviews. Make sure to check their portfolio and google reviews.
Ask your family and friends. Your family may know someone who’s done a bathroom renovation recently. If they are open to sharing their experience, you might be able to recommend a contractor. You might be eligible to receive a referral fee if they refer you.
You can also check out forums online. There are many forums that allow you to ask questions and share pictures. Reddit is another popular place, as well as Pinterest.
Do your research. Check their credentials before you hire anyone to do the work. You should check their licenses, qualifications, and insurance. You should also take note of past jobs. Do they have any experience with bathrooms? Are they familiar with bathrooms of similar size?

Let’s Unwind
Adonis x Bianca
Summary: Adonis and Bianca haven’t experienced any time to themselves lately because of their busy schedules. But tonight is the night for them to unwind with drinks, food, and good sex.
This was a fic request! I hope it’s just as fluffy as the person wanted it to be.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Adonis?”
Bianca walked into their wide open living room, Adonis seated on the couch in front of their 86” LED Smart TV, watching Sports Illustrated. They were discussing the big fight he had just two days ago, the one where he came out on top, yet again. They all celebrated as a group with his team and his family. Rocky couldn’t make it, but he gave his congratulations and promised to visit soon.
Bianca held a sleeping Amara as she tucked herself in a comfortable spot on the couch. Amara cooed, stirring in her sleep before gripping one of Bianca’s fingers tightly, causing Bianca to smile before looking up at her husband.
“Donnie?”
“Yeah.” He turns down the TV, giving B his undivided attention now.
“I’ve been thinking.”
Adonis blinked twice before raising his brows in question.
“Thinking what B?”
“Well, we’ve both been pretty tied up with work and I’ve been thinking that we should make it a priority to do husband and wife things.”
Adonis chuckles.
“We don’t do that shit now?” He had a confused expression that made B want to mush his face.
“Married couples don’t just come home late at night from studio sessions or work out sessions to take separate showers and get in a quickie.” She says with sarcasm.
“So what you saying, that’s all we are?” He points an accusatory finger between them both.
“Stop it, D. What I’m saying is I want us to be more romantic. Let’s go on Friday night dinner dates, have picnics on the hood of your car, pop up at each other's work places with gifts or small talk, have risky sex, have family dinner, TRAVEL THE WORLD. Anything…”
Bianca has Adonis’s attention now, causing him to flick the TV off on a scene of him K.O.’ing a famous Mexican boxer.
“I’m listening B. I want all those things too, I want to keep our relationship romantic, fun, passionate, all that.” He was having trouble expressing himself. Bianca grips his hand, running a thumb over the scarring on his knuckles.
“Since we are both on the same page, why don’t you get dressed in something nice and make us a dinner reservation.” Adonis gives her a half smirk, before gripping her chin to kiss her soft lips. He loved the little humming sounds that escaped her mouth each time he would kiss her, her soft delicate hands running over his face, the rings on her fingers adding temperature to his skin that caused him to shiver pleasantly.
“I called your mom, and she said she would be more than happy to take Amara for the night while we enjoy ourselves. She said she’s a phone call away when we need time alone.”
Both Adonis and Bianca stared down at their sleeping beauty, Adonis leaning in to kiss her tiny feet causing Bianca to smile. Finally lifted from the couch, Bianca places Amara in her crib to get ready, while Adonis went to take a quick shower. He figured B would want to do a fancy steak house dinner, so he booked a reservation at The Capital Grille. Bianca wanted them both to dress nice for the occasion, so Adonis put on a tailored suit of his in a navy blue color with gold cufflinks and a white dress shirt underneath, not completely buttoned. He sat on his bed to tie up the laces on his dress shoes, watching his woman at her vanity applying some makeup. She went for a red lip, using the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint, her eyes smokey to bring out the big brown irises she had, her hair pressed straight, the strands clinging to the beautiful creamy skin of her back. She had on a backless black cocktail dress with a slit on the side to give a teasing view of her killer legs. Her feet were covered in Saint Laurent heels.
Adonis couldn’t wait to get back to their place so he could properly dissect his women with his tongue, and stroke her surface with his fingers. Bianca caught him staring, a goofy grin on her face.
“You like what you see?”
“Hell yeah, you lucky we have dinner first because I’d rather skip that and eat you.”
“So you’re a cannibal now?”
They both shared a laugh.
“Hurry up beautiful so we can drop Amara off.”
Bianca put on her last Tiffany diamond earring before grabbing her black clutch, smoothing her dress over her hips.
“Okay, so I think I have everything Amara needs. Her bottle cleaner, I packed extra breast milk just in case, her favorite pacifier, those new booties that keeps her feet warm, extra pampers…”
“Babe. It’s cool, aight?  My mom will be fine she can handle it B.” Bianca squeezes her eyes shut, letting out a nervous laugh.
“Okay...I’m overreacting. You ready?”
“You look so damn sexy tonight.”
Adonis drinks from the bottle of Champagne sitting on ice, watching Bianca sip her wine in a sexy manner, her eyes low and fluttery.
“You look just as good yourself Mr. Creed.” She pulls out a tiny mirror to check her lips, smacking them together.
“Keep doing that to your lips they’ll be staining this dick in a minute.”
Bianca couldn’t lie, she wanted Adonis to do the things he talked big about, but her stomach rumbled and she needed some food.
“Let me eat first I’m STARVING.”
Right on cue, the waiter comes over with their tray of food. Bianca ordered a prime rib with Parmesan cheese crust, creamed spinach, and a baked sweet potato with brown sugar maple glaze and butter. Adonis had a ribeye with caramelized mushrooms and onions, garlic butter mashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli with green peppers and onions. It was tender, savory, and juicy, each bite getting better than the last. Both of them could eat, and that’s all they did too, Bianca getting thicker all over. Donnie definitely took notice when she would walk out of the bathroom in her naked glory, rubbing herself down with her homemade whipped body butter. The voice inside his head begged him to calm the heat that began to brew deep within his skin, deciding on ignoring the erection that attempted to grow and ask his women about her music.
“Tell me about the studio sessions lately, how have they been going for you?” Bianca removed her napkin from her lap, dabbing her mouth delicately, before clearing her throat to speak.
“I’m not gonna lie, I may have hit a snag.” Bianca finally spoke with a sound of defeat in her tone.
“A snag? Where exactly?” Adonis ran his tongue over his teeth, his eyes focused on his women as her shoulders slouched, reaching to pour a generous amount of champagne into her glass.
“Well...for one I haven’t had the motivation. Every time I feel like I have a lyric, just a SPARK, something, it just falls flat.” Her silky tresses from the right side of her face slipped over her shoulder, causing her to stroke it back, exposing her creamy skin over her protruding clavicles.
“I’ve been thinking about Amara a lot lately, and the hearing tests, the pressure from everyone expecting more from me now that I’ve given them this gift, my music.” She lets out a breath that sounded strained.
“B. This is what I want you to do.”
Adonis took her hand in his, rubbing the surface with his thumb.
“When you walk in that studio, I want you to close those beautiful eyes of yours. Then, I want you to do what I see you do at home, just hum to yourself. Let that pretty little hum coarse through you like it’s awakening you. Stay still, and let the melody, whichever melody you decide to create, let it cloud your brain and let it get you into the zone.”
Adonis watched the downcast of her eyes, reaching across the table with his other hand to grip her chin softly, lifting her head, and making her look him in the eyes.
“Hey, like you always tell me before a fight, YOU GOT THIS. My girl did not get a record deal and become internet famous in less than a year for nothing.” Adonis playfully jabbed her chin, causing her to perk up more, taking that same hand to kiss it, leaving a matte red lip stain along his almond skin.
“You are the epitome of a man. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have you.” Adonis gives her a soft smile, a light chuckle escaping his throat.
“I should say that about you, girl. You and Mara, and my mom are the light in my life. After the entire Drago thing, I’ve grown and… I needed that.”
Bianca’s bright smile could have swoon the entire restaurant, her hand bashfully coming up to cover her face, her eyes on Adonis unwavering.
“You are something, you beautiful human.” She loved the allure in his eyes, she loved the way he softly smiled at her like she was the only one in that room. She loved how his fingers would caress her hand gently and without pause, making her woozy.
“Adonis Creed?”
Adonis’ eyes looked up and over at a young man who looked to be about 18 years of age, an excited gleam in his eyes and a broad smile.
“Yeah, how you doing man.” Adonis put his hand out to shake the teenage boys, watching as he reluctantly shook his hand with a nervous gleam in his eyes.
“I recognized you from my graduation dinner party and I figured why not take a chance and say hi.” The young boy reminded Adonis of himself when he was 18.
“Not a problem bro, you box?”
“Yeah! I’ve been doing it since I was 7.”
“You love it? Like enough to want to pursue it?”
The boy nodded his head rapidly, causing Bianca to laugh lightly.
“That’s wassup, what’s your name?”
“Calvin.” He stuttered.
“Listen, Calvin.” Adonis pulled out his phone, handing it over to the boy.
“Why don’t you put your cell number in there, and I’ll contact you about private boxing sessions with me, hows that sound to you?” Bianca looked at Adonis as if he were something to cherish as if he were a piece of heaven.
“For real?! MAN of course definitely. I would really appreciate that.” Calvin couldn’t stop giving his thanks, his smile still plastered and his head shaking back and forth in astonishment.
After he entered his number, Calvin said his final goodbyes to Bianca and Adonis, retiring to his family with more pep in his step.
Adonis took a sip from his glass, eyes gazing out into the street of LA, watching people cruise by and the palm trees sway. He could feel the eyes of his wife on him then, so he looked up to find Bianca with glossy eyes and a genuine smile on her lips.
“That was really fucking nice of you D.” She wiped at her eye quick, grabbing both of his hands.
“Thanks, baby, I saw something in him that reminded me of how I was. And plus, I love seeing young black boys involved in other things besides what’s happening on the block.”
Not wanting to let their food go to waste, the both of them continued to eat, silence hanging between them as the silverware clashed with the plates of food. Nothing needed to be said, just his presence was enough for Bianca and the same for Adonis. Peeking at each other, and the bare skin of Bianca’s leg rubbing against Adonis was just enough to spark heat.
—-
Her body stood in front of the ceiling to floor mirrors of their luxury loft, her hand pressed to the glass as one of her new singles, Midnight,  played softly in the background. The song drummed through her, causing Bianca to sway her hips, eyes closed as she took in the lull of the sensual instrumental and her soft voice singing about losing control to a man.
Creeping up behind her with unheard footsteps was her husband, both of his hands running up the length of her arms, up and over her shoulders, and then down her exposed back before resting at her hips. Bianca lets out a soft chuckle, her breath hitching softly as Adonis’ body pressed firmly against hers.
“What was going through your mind when you wrote this?” The drag of his voice when he asked her that had her body pressing further against him, her eyes closing against the cityscape of LA.
“I was thinking...of how close I wish you were with me. How being away from you, even for a second, has me itching for your hands.”
Adonis strokes his lips over her ear.
“Just my hands?”
Bianca quirks a brow, leaning her head back to look him in his eyes.
“And your mouth.” Adonis took no time to press his lips to her divine lips. Bianca melted against the moist cushion of his lips, her body automatically turning to face him as their tongues crashed like dangerous waves.
“Keep kissing me like that and watch what happens.” Adonis teases.
“You started it D. Now you gotta finish it. I’m horny husband. I want you to fuck me.”
Adonis’ lips paused over Bianca’s his eyes searching hers, taking in the heat that began to flare behind her pretty brown irises. He was certain that the heat looked just the same within his.
Adonis and Bianca kissed further, practically sucking each other's faces, the back of Bianca’s legs crashing with the arm of their black leather couch, falling crimson her back causing her dress to hike up. She giggles from the surprise change in position, causing Adonis to clamp a fist to his mouth, snorting laughter.
“Oh god, we couldn’t even make it to the bed.” She shakes her head, watching Adonis remove his jacket and shirt.
“Doesn’t matter what surface I fuck you on, just as long as I feel that good pussy I’m straight.”
Adonis took no time to rest his body over hers, kissing her further while his hands roamed. She moaned sweetly into his mouth, her heart drumming against his solid chest frantically, and her hands rubbing over the waves on his head.
The intense passion that they both still felt for each other was mind blowing and gratifying. This is what they both wanted, a marriage where even the slightest gesture makes them erupt in pleasure.
Adonis began kissing from Bianca’s temple, down her face, and to her neck, taking his tongue to trail spit after every kiss. She whispered a repeated yes into his ear like a soft echo, her back arching into his solid frame, causing him to take his hands, removing the fabric of her dress inch by inch until it pooled around her waist.
“I can’t get enough of you ma, I need you ma.” Adonis nibbles on her clavicles, his eyes staring up at her extended head, her eyes low and lustful up at the ceiling.
“Keep going, don't stop.” His mouth finally found one of her caramel nipples, taking his lips to latch around one, savoring the sweet skin. He noticed how her skin shimmers with glitter, his other hand coming up to cup her breast. She chokes on that home groan, her fingers itching to grip the leather of the couch.
One of her smooth legs runs up Adonis’ side, her toes trying to push his black slacks down his hips.
“Skin Adonis, I wanna feel more skin.” Donnie kisses in between her breasts, giving her a lazy lopsided grin.
“Okay, wifey.” Adonis lifts up, approach Bianca at the head of the couch, watching as she takes her dainty fingers, undoing his pants, allowing them to fall loosely, her fingertips taking no time to pull his Calvin Klein briefs down, revealing a smooth veiny shaft, that hung with a throbbing erection. Bianca lifts her head to kiss him on the tip, before licking him there slow, her eyes watching every move. Adonis brings a hand to her head, running his fingers through her pressed hair, gripping the silky strands as he rubbed them between his fingertips.
Head from Bianca was something Adonis could never get over. It always brought him back to the first time he experienced it, that look in her eyes and the way her mouth did tantalizing things had him hooked, even before he had sex with her. She gripped him tightly, wetting him up with her spit and squeezing him good with her lips. Adonis hisses, his eyebrows worrying and his lips attacked by his teeth. Bianca could stare at that list filled face for hours, causing her to bob her head quicker over his length, earning a low but slow fuckkkkk to escape him. She was addicted to her husband's dick, and with every suck, she felt him quiver or twitch.
“Shit B, damn B….fuckkk baby.” His head falls back, hand coming down hard to the back of her head as he came, a low cry escaping his mouth.
Adonis was on his knees now, gazing into the pretty peach that Bianca had nestled between her legs, the wet fruit begging to be licked and many other things. Adonis could never forget the way she tasted; like a sweet piece of fruit dipped in fresh honey from a honeycomb. Bianca had an obsession with eating honeycombs too, the taste was overly sweet and the texture sticky, like how her pussy was now. Adonis trailed his tongue flat against her, liking from her hole all the way to her clit. No more quiet moans escaped her mouth, her heeled feet pointed to the sky and her ring-covered fingers rubbing over his head. Bianca tilts her head, watching the light from the city and the moon reflect off of his face and that shiny tongue that battled to get a taste.
Her legs drew back further, and her face contorted in bewilderment, her man's eyes never leaving hers, the undeniable attraction so clear and so pure. He took those lips and latched onto her clit, sucking deep without retracting, obscene noises loud between them and her creamy thighs shaking.
“Ah, take it.” She moans. Adonis was proud that he still made her feel this way. He opened up wide, attempting to kiss her inner folds, his lips brushing over every surface with persistent need, her legs never clamping around his head. She wanted, needed, craved him.
“Keep that up and watch I cum.” The innocent way she spoke that had the primal nature within him growl.
“I guess I gotta keep going right?” He spoke into her pussy with a low voice.
He kept going and going with the same motions, now adding two fingers, curling them over her g spot. The leather grew sweaty from her perspiration, a repeated gasp escaping her mouth like a melody, causing her belly to tremble, and her legs to shake as she orgasmed without warning. Adonis chased her cum, still sucking her through it until he felt she had enough.
——-
“I love you.” She whispered into his ear before sucking on his earlobe. They were on their second position that night, Adonis sinking back into her tight pussy, Bianca’s hips bringing him closer, her face was buried into the carpet, and her body was arched off of the ground, her pussy quivering around him with each deep pound. His strokes weren’t rushed, it felt like he was trying to remember her this way like he wanted to map out how her pussy felt around him.
“I love you, I love this pussy.” Adonis ran his fingers through her head before gripping tight, his eyes enjoying the way her back looked. Her arch was deep, and her spin dipped in the middle, making him trail his thumb there, catching up the sweat.
“Fuck me, harder.” Whatever she wanted, Adonis would give her, his hips slapped into her ass swiftly, her fingers rubbing into the carpet with a tremble.
“Touch me more.” She could feel the palms of his hand's jiggle and pinch her ass, before trailing both hands up her slim waist, digging his fingers into her flesh. Adonis buries himself deeper, bending over to kiss her spine.
“Throw that ass back,” Adonis slapped her ass, watching as B, began grinding her hips back over him slowly, a moan leaving her mouth after every stroke.
“Look at you. So damn beautiful with this dick in you. Such a beautiful sight baby.” His eyes couldn’t leave the nasty way her pussy swallowed him repeatedly. He felt her clench him, a hiss escaping his mouth.
“I felt that too, cum on this dick B.” Adonis began thrusting to meet her strokes, her ass bouncing and her cries muffled by the carpet.
“AHHHHH.” Adonis lets out a growl so deep Bianca could feel it vibrating through her flesh. She couldn’t even warn him, her words jumbled as she came on him for the third time that night.
LA received a beautiful view that evening, Adonis pressing Bianca’s body into the glass window, her legs around his waist as she bounced over him with a slow, forceful jerk of her body. She had her arms hanging loosely around his neck, and her eyes closed in bliss, head smashed against the thick glass. Adonis loves the image of his wife on him, her skin flushed, lipstick smeared, hair curling in the roots, her eyes wet in the corners. She was so precious, the vision of her made him want to fuck her harder.
“Yes, Donnie, yes give it to me, fuck me, I miss this!” She brought a hand to the back of his head, her nails grazing his head.
“You feel so good, you always feel so good.” He whispers, bringing both of his hands around her to hold her up, bouncing her rough over him. His wife, his beloved, his beautiful black women, she was a sight to see.
“B, fuck…”
“Cum in me, give it to me.”
“Imma give it to you baby, I promise.”
“Yeah, ohmygod ohmygod.”
“Take it, girl, take this dick…”
“FUCK D!” She clenched around him, her head falling back.
“Damn girl.” Adonis smacked her ass, his body shivering from how sensitive he was. He walked back to the couch with her still around him, falling back against it while his women bounced on him, leaning forward to kiss and nibble on his lips with her his grinding deep and his hands buried into the flesh of her ass. Her hands crashed with the couch on either side of his head, her back arching and rolling. Adonis lay there stunned, his eyebrows furrowed and his mouth hanging open. Bianca arched deeper before lifting from him with a swing of her head, her hair crashing with her face, bringing Adonis hands to grip her breasts.
“I’m fucking this dick D, this is my dick.”
She began bouncing, earning a slap to her ass, and a string of moans from him.
“This fucking pussy, GOT DAMN.” His head extended, eyes squeezed shut.
“This pussy is straight fire.” He couldn’t hold back anymore, his hips meeting hers, slapping skin loud. Bianca practically clawed his chest, her body shaking over him in another orgasm, drawing him on further.
“SHITTTTT!!” Adonis lifts from the couch, wrapping his arms around her waist, his hips snapping up into her rough before finally, with a shake, cumming within her deep, shooting his cum against her cervix spurt after spurt. His lips latched to her neck, soft mumbling vibrating against her flesh. The hold he had on her was tight, and the loud thumping of his heart against her chest made her squeeze him tighter.
“If I told you, that this felt like the first time we had sex, would you believe me?” Bianca rubbed her nose into Adonis’s sweaty shoulder.
“I would, but what if I told you that it was EVEN BETTER than the first time we had sex?” Adonis kisses her hairline, enjoying the way her body bounced in his lap from laughter.
“It’s probably because of how freaky I’ve grown to be with you.” Adonis hummed in agreement.
“I’m glad we did this B, it just goes to show how much we still care for each other.” His fingertips rubbed at her back, making her eyes close.
“Just keep loving me like you do, it’s the best feeling in the world.”

Bittersweet Goodbyes and New Beginnings -- Bughead
Tumblr media
Words: 2,967
Rated: G
Summary:  The day has finally come for them to say goodbye to Riverdale High and hello to the real world that awaits them. Betty and Jughead have big plans in New York City, but are Jughead's plans just a little bit bigger than expected?
A/N:  The Core Four Graduation dream sequence got me in the mood for a graduation fic, so enjoy this little ditty following Betty on her graduation day. (Read on AO3)
"C'mon, V. The boys are here to pick us up." Betty sat on her windowsill, where she could see FP Jones' old truck in her driveway. Archie and Jughead were sitting on the hood, waiting for the girls to come down.
Veronica was sitting at Betty's vanity, where she'd been for the past two hours, applying makeup and doing her hair. Betty had brought an extra chair in from the kitchen so they could both share the mirror.  However, Betty's makeup routine was much less elaborate than Veronica's. A simple line of eyeliner ended in an almost unnoticeable cat eye, a few swipes of mascara, and her favorite Pretty in Pink lipstick, the one she saved for special occasions.
Veronica, on the other hand, wore a full face of makeup. Foundation, contour, highlights… all the things that Betty never did unless Veronica did it for her, like she had for her first anniversary with Jughead. Betty had hated it, and Jughead complained about the makeup that she left on his pillowcase when they were…messing around that night.
"You can't rush perfection, B." Veronica responded as she finally pulled her Midnight Berry lipstick across her lips. The two girls were like Ying and Yang, black and white, fire and water… complete opposites. Betty in a baby blue dress with a lace overlay and bubblegum pink pumps and Veronica in a tight black, high-necked dress with a stiff peplum circling her center and nondescript black heeled booties.
Veronica glided over to the window and pulled up on the frame. She knelt over Betty as she stuck her head out the window and shouted to the two handsome boys waiting for them. "We'll be right down! Archie Andrews, if you get your pants dirty so help me God!" She pointed a stiff finger at her boyfriend… one that he'd gotten used to seeing over the years. It was a warning.
Betty laughed as Archie jumped of the hood of the truck, which she could tell Jughead had washed for the occasion. Veronica was already halfway out the door when Betty stood to follow her. Betty stumbled down the carpeted hallway in her heels, praying to God she wouldn't trip and fall as they walked down the center aisle of their high school gym that afternoon.
Archie opened the front door for Veronica, who pecked his cheek with her freshly colored lips. A dark purple stain was left on his freckled cheek. Veronica blushed.
"Oops, sorry Arch." She tugged a tissue from her purse and wiped the mark off his face.
Jughead waited by the driver's door. His body seemed to shrink behind the door as he watched the other's through the window. Betty raised an eyebrow curiously. Why was he acting weird?
Betty decided it must be the nerves. It had taken her some time to convince Jughead to actually show his face at their graduation ceremony. He'd wanted to skip out on it. After all, it was just a dumb ceremony where he would be forced to pretend he'd actually miss their high school and his classmates which, of course, he wouldn't. Jughead's words, not hers.
"You look nice, Jug." Betty smiled sweetly as she stepped up to her boyfriend. She opened her arms to him and tried pulling him into a hug.
Jughead fidgeted under her touch, his hands landing on her shoulders. He pushed the girl's body back slightly and bent down so his lips grazed hers. They might've stayed that way forever, his arms on her shoulders, hers on his hips, and lips pressing together softly, if not for their other two friends waiting for them.
"Get a room, you two." Veronica sighed. "Wait, scratch that…you two would actually get a room."
Jughead smiled at the memory. Betty had thrown him yet another birthday party when he turned eighteen, but only because he'd agreed to it, and on the grounds that the party be at FP's trailer. At least that way he could keep uninvited guests away. Cheryl,  Reggie… the rest of the football team and the River Vixens? They wouldn't be caught dead in a trailer park on the Southside.
Over time, Betty had taught Jughead to love his birthday. More importantly, she'd told him where they would go after the party was over. Betty and Jughead had been all over each other pretty early that night, the booze loosening Betty's lips as she crawled all over her boyfriend. Lips on his neck as the music blasted around them.
Archie and Veronica had stumbled into the kitchen looking for food, when they found Betty sitting on the countertop with Jughead pressing her against the cabinets as his lips wandered over the bare skin of her neck and shoulders
"Get a room." Veronica had said. They did just that.
Jughead was so caught up in his memory he didn't even remember sliding into the driver's seat. The truck's cab was small, only meant for three people, only comfortable for two, and currently holding four. Veronica was practically sitting in Archie's lap and Betty was scrunched in next to him.
"Seatbelts?" Jughead said, which garnered a lot of glares.
It was a short drive to the high school, and the student parking lot was already filled with the cars of their classmates and teachers. All but one space was filled, marked with a sign for the student body president.
The presidential parking spot was instigated by none other than Cheryl Blossom, who'd somehow manipulated her way into a position of power. She'd also instituted senior parking privileges. Jughead hated to admit it, but Cheryl had done some good work in her time.
The truck grumbled to a stop and the four friends piled out of the cab like clowns in a miniature car. Betty and Veronica linked arms as they walked headlong into their high school for the last time.
Archie looped his arm in Jughead's, mimicking the girls in from of them, but didn't garner the reaction he wanted. Normally Jughead would pull away from him or at least laugh, but today his eyes were slightly glazed over and he was hardly speaking.
"You okay, Jug?" Archie clapped a hand on his friend's shoulder.
Jughead blinked a couple of times, his eyebrows knit together in thought. "Just… just nervous is all."
"Yeah, me too."
The cafeteria was full of students pulling royal blue robes over their shoulders. Everyone begrudgingly pulling their caps over meticulously styled hair. Jughead was limited in a different way. He knew he wouldn't be allowed to wear his beanie for this occasion, and he was glad that he would have a different cap to disguise his perpetual hat hair. Regardless, he hesitated to remove his beanie. He was more comfortable with it on, and everything about this day was entirely uncomfortable.
Betty adjusted his tie as they waited to be called into the gymnasium. When Principal Weatherby finally came to retrieve the senior class Betty held out her hand expectantly. Jughead slid his hand into hers, assuming that was what she was expecting.
"Jughead…" She had to speak loudly over the pandemonium of teenagers filing toward the door.  "The hat."
Betty nodded toward his beanie and Jughead pulled the piece of cloth from his head sadly and handed it to his girlfriend. She, in turn, handed over the cap that Jughead had drawn a crown on with black sharpie.
"You ready?" Betty asked.
Jughead's breath caught in his throat as Betty tried wrapping her arms around him. He thrust his hands into his pockets, and Betty scrunched her nose up at him. She was annoyed, he could tell, that he wasn't reciprocating any of her touches today, but she would understand.
"Okay, sourpuss." She backed away slightly, just to give him the space that he apparently needed today. "Get your hands out of your pockets and I'll zip you up."
Jughead looked so handsome and grown up with his tie poking out just above the robe he was wearing. His hair was poking out under his cap in much the same way that it did under his beanie, and Betty adored that little curl. Jughead would often be caught fiddling with that piece of hair that was always falling in his face.
"See you after?" Betty leaned up to give Jughead a quick kiss on the lips.
Jughead tried to smile, but it came out in more of a grimace. "Yeah, after… right."
Betty slid through the crowd to her spot in the line toward the front. Cheryl was already standing at her spot, right next to Betty. Having last names back to back in the alphabet put them right next to each other.
"Ah, the bittersweet goodbye." Cheryl crooned, her voice a sweet as maple syrup. She looped her arm through Betty's as the doors into the gymnasium swung open. "I will miss you Betty Cooper."
Cheryl had never said anything so nice to her before. It was slightly disconcerting, but because this was the last time they'd have to interact she decided to ignore the out of character announcement.
"I'll miss you too Cheryl."
Cheryl offered her a close-lipped smile, signature Cheryl Blossom red lips contrasted beautifully with her royal blue robes. Betty vaguely recalled Cheryl campaigning to be allowed to wear an all red cap and gown to 'set her apart as the president,' but the school had declined.
All of a sudden the school band started playing Pomp and Circumstance, and Archie , being at the front of the line, led the way for the rest of their class to follow. Betty quickly glanced behind her, where Jughead stood just next to Kevin. She raised her eyebrows at them as if to say, 'This is it." And then she was following alongside Cheryl to their chairs at the front of the gym.
Their seats lined up in the most perfect way, so that Kevin and Jughead took their seats just behind where Betty sat. It wasn't as good as having Jughead right next to her, but it was good enough.
Principal Weatherby spoke first, welcoming the parents, friends, and families of the graduates. This was followed by a speech by Mayor McCoy. The salutatorian and valedictorian were also required to give speeches. Betty still wasn't sure how Cheryl had managed to keep a 4.0 even during all the issues that befell her during their sophomore year, but Betty was just as happy with her 3.98 GPA, which meant she had to make her way to the stage.
Deep breaths, she reminded herself, deep breaths. Her speech was sitting on the podium when she walked up the set of temporary steps to the stage. Betty hadn't spoken in front of so many people since the mayor's jubilee over two years ago. She was nervous, so she made eye contact with Jughead; he was always able to keep her calm.
"I want to start off by thanking all of you for coming. To our families, thank you for making us the people we are today and for supporting us during this trial run at life, preparing us for the real world. To our friends, thank you for being the second family we never knew we needed, for understanding us in ways that our families couldn't."
"I have a few very important people that I need to thank personally. My parents, who have made me strong and prepared me for the craziness of the real world. To Polly and the kids, you inspire me every day. To me, you three are the perfect family and I want something like that one day. Archie and Kevin, for being  two of my best friends for as long as I can remember. You've always taught be to go after the important things in life and to only settle for the best. To Veronica, for being the friend I never knew I needed, who showed up exactly when I needed her and provided a female perspective on life that I'd never experienced before."
"Finally, I want to thank Jughead. You're always there for me. You support me through all my crazy ideas and love me even when I'm angry. You make me want to do better, to work hard… to make my dreams come true. Thank you… from the bottom of my heart, thank you."
Betty finished off her speech with some crap she'd written about missing her classmates, her teachers, and the town, though she didn't mean any of it. Of course, she'd come home to visit, but she and Jughead were both headed to New York City for school, where they'd share similar classes, Betty majoring in journalism and Jughead double majoring in creative and non-fiction writing. She'd have everything she needed in New York, in the small studio apartment she and Jughead had signed a lease for just last week.
The applause from the audience was forced, but that was to be expected at an event like this. Cheryl passed Betty on the stairs as she took the stage and Betty hurried back to her seat, heart racing. Jughead placed a hand on her shoulder and she immediately calmed. She will never fully understand how Jughead's hand on her shoulder always made her feel better.
She zoned out during Cheryl's speech, which was far too long, and only began focusing on the ceremony again when their row was dismissed to walk to the stage and receive their diplomas.
"Archibald Andrews."
Archie walked across the stage, receiving his diploma from the principal and shaking hands with him, the mayor, the and the superintendant. Cheryl marched confidently across the stage, blowing a kiss to the audience.
"Elizabeth Cooper." Kevin cheered for her as she walked across the stage, while Jughead sat smiling and clapping; silently supporting her.
Betty was already back in her seat when Jughead was set to walk across the stage.
"Forsythe Pendleton Jones the Third." Jughead's given name garnered laughs from the audience, some of whom didn't realize that the other name he went by might be just as laughable.
The ceremony was coming to a close as the last members of the class returned to their seat. There was, however, one last little thing to close off the event. Every year at the end of the graduation ceremony they showed a slideshow containing pictures and a chosen senior quote for each student.
It wouldn't be winning any awards, that was for sure. Just a simple slideshow, with no transitions, and a song overlaid in the background. It was unremarkable, really, but Betty was excited to see what quote Jughead had chosen. He had refused to tell her beforehand, no matter how much she begged. Surely it was something really deep from one of his favorite movies.
When his face finally appeared on the screen Betty's stomach dropped, her heart raced, and her cheeks flamed red. There, written in italics under Jughead's ridiculously long name, was something that Betty would have never seen coming.
'Betty Cooper, will you marry me?'
She spun around in her chair so quickly she could have gotten whiplash. Jughead was kneeling on the floor behind her, ignoring the stares from his classmates and the rest of the audience. He only had eyes for Betty, and his heart pounded as he waited for a response. Maybe this was the wrong way to do this, he should have done it in private. A million thoughts were running through his mind even as Betty crawled over her chair and into Jughead's arms.
Her lips crashed against his and she was glad that he was finally hugging her back. Something hard was pressing into her back as she hugged her, and she finally made the decision to pull away. Jughead pulled his hands back in front of him, where he held open a small velvet box. Inside sat a simple silver band with a gem placed elegantly on top.
"It's white sapphire." Jughead said. "I'll get you a diamond, I promise, I just need to save up a bit more."
Tears were falling softly down Betty's pink cheeks. "I don't want a diamond, this is perfect."
The smile on Jughead's face threatened to split open his cheeks. He'd never been so happy in his life. "Is that a yes?"
Betty nodded, unable to even form words at that moment. Jughead slid the ring onto her finger and kissed her again. Their classmates were still staring, even as they were dismissed and began filing out of their seats.
"I think we should probably run away." Jughead whispered to her.
"Why?"
"I think your mom might be ready to murder me."
Betty glanced behind Jughead, where her mom had found a seat pretty close to the front. She had the same look of rage she'd had when Betty had stayed over with Jughead in FP's trailer and returned home with a hickey on her neck.
"You're right," Betty said. "Let's run."
Betty and Jughead jumped from the ground and Jughead grabbed his girlfr- his fiancé's hand. But Betty couldn't run in her heels. Instead, Jughead bent his knees so Betty could hop on his back. He piggybacked her out of the gym and out the front doors of the school, where their classmates were lined up waiting for their families.
Jughead ran them past their friends, amidst cheers for the couple, and Jughead didn't stop until they'd ran back to the solitude of the parking lot, where he finally set Betty down on the hood of his dad's truck.
"You are something else Jughead." Betty fiddled with the hair at the back of his neck. "But I love you for it."
"I love you too, Betts." He placed a soft kiss to her lips. "Always have and always will."

Forest House I in Eastern Townships
17 Nov 2020
Forest House I
Design: Natalie Dionne Architecture
Location: Bolton-Est, Eastern Townships, QC, Canada
Forest House I is the latest work by Montréal-based studio, Natalie Dionne Architecture. The firm has earned widespread praise over the years for its contextual approach, its creativity, and its attention to detail. Forest House I adds to a rich portfolio of original, residential homes, equal parts urban and rural.
The three-acre site, located in the Eastern Townships, is roughly 100 kilometers southeast of Montreal. Greatly valued by city dwellers for its natural beauty and relative proximity to urban life, the area has now become a choice spot for those willing and able to work from home. The clients, a professional couple, had long cherished the dream of building themselves a home in the heart of nature.
Discreetly inserted onto an outcrop of the Canadian shield, surrounded by mature hemlock and deciduous trees, the home is meant to pay tribute to the living forest. Wood dominates a restrained palette of materials, both inside and outside. The prematurely aged plank cladding, exposed framework, and various other interior finishes showcase all the richness of the natural material.
Strategic implantation A natural cleft in the existing topography, suboptimal orientation, and the presence of numerous rocky outcrops presented a major challenge for both clients and architects. During a careful and thorough ‘walking of the site,’ a particularly impractical rock formation near a precipice caught their eye and provided inspiration and insight as to how to place the home.
Standing on top of the 3m tall rock, all parties agreed that, in order to get the most out of available light and views, the living quarters, set parallel to the ridge, had to be jacked up to this level and reach out across and over the bowl in order to make a soft landing on the rocky outcrop to the north where the best light was to be found. An elevated structure, on a minimalist footprint, prioritizing a low impact intervention to the existing terrain, was also understood to have the added benefit of creating a dramatic approach to the home by emphasizing, and assuring the persistence of, the magnificent vista that lay beyond the precipice.
The architectural program The main floor, the heart of the project (anchored at one end, atop a base where a lonely rock once stood) hovers over the rocky cleft and projects a vast, outdoor, partially covered terrace towards a moss-covered escarpment to the north. From this exterior perch, dedicated to relaxation and outdoor living with its embedded spa and leisure furniture, one passes to the fluid interior spaces of the kitchen, dining room, living room, and the couple’s bedroom suite at the southern end of this linear building.
The staircase and foyer, which communicates with the home’s main entrance hall at ground level, are inserted between the living room and the bedroom. Adjacent to the entrance hall, we find, a bunkroom, capable of accommodating up to 10 guests.
The sitting area, glazed floor to ceiling on both sides, is bathed in natural light. To the east, a dramatic incline exposes a spectacular view of the forest canopy. Several alcoves, projecting out from the façades, grant extra space to the kitchen, dining area, and master bathroom and provide additional views and sunlight to penetrate from the south.
The master suite, the only private space on the main level, features full-height windows as well. One of these was placed along the main circulation axis, directly in front of an outcrop. The effect is one of total transparency from one end of the house to the other. On the west side, the carefully designed bathroom features a perfect spot for contemplation with its bathtub inserted in a glassed-in corner alcove.
Materials and color palette Wood is everywhere present in this 215 sq m home, which strives towards symbiosis with the surrounding environment. The exposed roof structure is made of engineered wood produced from Northern Québec black spruce. Particular attention was paid to the design and detailing of these structural elements supporting the roof’s regular grid. The façades, clad in eastern white cedar, were pretreated with a product accelerating the greying process, so as to blend into the landscape like a chameleon sunning itself on a rock, and to keep future maintenance to a minimum.
Solid maple was used for the kitchen islands, the vanities the stairs, and the catwalk whereas Russian plywood was used throughout for the rest of the built-in cabinetry. The bright palette chosen by the architects for the interiors contrasts sharply with the, at times, dark forest around the house. Polished concrete floors, gypsum walls, and the natural aluminum windows blend harmoniously with the wood and help brighten the abundant natural light.
Below deck, the foundation was insulated from without in order to preserve the rough concrete within, a reminder of the rock that now shores up the edge of the precipice. The exposed concrete blends in perfectly with the outcrops of stone seen just beyond the windows. Such is the nature of shelter and place.
In communion Born of a client’s desire to reconnect with the natural environment, Forest House I, attempts to distill the essence of a place by folding the landscape into every nook and cranny of the home. It is the first in a series of similarly themed homes presently being developed by the team at Natalie Dionne Architecture. The Forest Home series reflect the architect’s growing desire to promote the ecological use of renewable materials.

THE POTTINGER HOTEL | A Tasteful Escape to Colonialism with Breakfast at Gradini Ristorante E Bar Italiano
Tumblr media
MODERN CLASS. When my girl, Ketty Shan, told me she was finally visiting the city again, I knew we had to do it right! Stop, Pause, Break & Rewind! We are so glad we made it to The Pottinger Hotel to get the best out of Hong Kong, in all its richness, classiness and history! If I were to call time to stop again, it’d be here!
Tumblr media
Pottinger Greetings
Tucked in the bustling vibes of Central, this hotel is the best to get the full immersion of Colonial Hong Kong during your short stay. With the historic Pottinger Street (Stone Slabs Street) running alongside it, and expats and white collars scurrying around its Neo-classic entrance, this was the perfect place for Ketty, who was coming back to the city for only a 2 day stay to sort out her errands.
We were so lucky to be welcomed by beautiful sunshine during the weekend and formally greeted by the very generous Hotel Manager, Gina Tam, as well as all the smiling staff. The lobby was brightly lit with soft tones of neutrals, and antique gold inlays of Art Deco lines and marbles finishings contrasted with the stone slabs outside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lobby with lavished with classic furnishing for casual sitting and enjoyment of the animated streets behind. With the large glazing and beautiful weather, I would have loved to enjoy the space as a perfect sunroom with a book, if it wasn’t situated in such a public realm of the hotel.
Tumblr media
Ketty is one of my favourite girls, with so much life! We worked together back in 10Design, one of those fancy funky architectural design firms in Hong Kong. Leaving the city a year ago to work in Kuala Lumpur, she’s much more super free spirited than I am.
Breakfast was waiting! With light layering of make up, and a toss of hair, my girl is ready for breakfast. She’s got the French in her that I can only adore and admire but never possess. Lots to learn, lots to learn Janet. The only culture I have, is maple syrup.
Tumblr media
The Gradini Ristorante
If there was one thing I loved the most about this hotel was its casual luxury - the Gradini Ristorante was a perfect emblem of this perfection. In soft pastel greens and pale neutrals, the decor of the restaurant took me out of the concrete city and back into our colonial days, our richer and cultured times. Beautiful animated wallpapers, with birds perched on peaceful white branches, were captured in white detailed wooden frames. These frames manifested itself in its glass panes and high ceiling details. Very detailed yet passive artistry of work. A beautiful feminine collison of European and Oriental aesthetics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We got the perfect seat in the far left corner, looking out over the trees I never notice existed in the glassy Central. The breakfast was a choice between the Continental or the Pottinger Breakfast set, both inclusive of a sumptuous salad bar with fresh fruits and yoghurt and oats. Ketty obviously needed her croissants and I needed my sausages and eggs. I could never say no to meat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The morning was quiet here and I could spend hours here savouring the moment and refreshments while watching people below. Around us were other hotel guests, mainly European or American couples who rushed off into their day soon after the meal. I had no plans to rush anywhere, and Ketty only had to meet her banker before noon. We definitely spent out time nicely, pigging out and laughing ourselves to tears. Mainly laughing at how obsessive we were at taking the right photos of our breakfast, but also a lot of catching up on life. It’s been almost six months seeing this girl, and I am so proud of where she is in life! We’ve both really come so far, it was definitely great to come share it with each other!
Tumblr media
The Peaceful Staycation
Our Deluxe Room was perfect as well, embracing all that the city could give. The soft curve glass at the corner window was highly animated, with the reflections of the glass skyscrapers around us, the moving traffic below, and soft diffused sunlight that stayed through the day. With Chinese-inspired decor and wall finishings, the soft room interiors gave me the comfort and peace to return to my zen. Studio Anetta was the interior designer for this hotel. Home away from home. A bubble to jump into to stare out into the city - to be a spectator amidst the noise. This holiday treat came to me at perfect timing!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I assure you, these beds looked much better when we first entered the room!  This is the best attempt of remaking the bed setup after they had been sleep in. The night lighting after we checked-in was too dim for photoshooting. The cute round cushions were perfect to hold as we watched TV in bed and the wall scounces mimicked Chinese paper lanterns. The decor truly looked effortlessly tasteful and refined.
Tumblr media
The Hotel Manager was terribly sweet, and welcomed us not only in person but also with card greetings and digital greetings scattered throughout the room. The staff were all very cute and kind as well, very unique to this boutique hotel.  The experience was so personal and so loving, something so different than the world outside the glass windows. Don’t we all miss this kind of loving and kindness? To receive this in the cold busy Hong Kong definitely got me all warm and fuzzy.
Tumblr media
While Ms. Ketty left for the bank, I returned back into the room to finally wind down after some rough times at work. A book, a camera, and some music - that‘s all I needed to get my energies and soul back straight. Some of you might have resonance with me in some sort of way. Because I found myself holding the book like a poser, barely reading it, just drifting off into nothingness. With brain levels still on high and vibrating in tense frequency from workdays, I am only a paralysed corpse on days returned to myself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I must have zoned out quite a lot, because I forgot what happened with the time, very soon my Tahitian sunshine came back already to spend the rest of the afternoon in silly giggles and girly poses with me.
If our breakfast wasn’t already full from the scrumptious salad bar, the hungry hippos we are, we’d already feast ourselves at the colourful fruit bowl that came into our hotel room. Bananas, kiwis, apples and dragon fruit!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Girlcave Bath!
If men had a mancave, this would be my girlcave.
I always had a thing for beautiful washrooms since I was a child. Growing up, my parent’s had the most luxurious jacuzzi in their master bathroom. Double height with skylights, the jacuzzi became my favourite reading lounge as a child and it remained a great memory of mine. The bathroom at the Pottinger Hotel gave me back many wonderful flashbacks - it was a space to be enjoyed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It would be a dream that one day I had a large bathroom again like this to spend an afternoon in. Imagine a quiet bubble bath, with light scents of light bergamot, a lemon drink and a soft acoustic music. Until then, it’d just remain a reality for days I could afford a staycation. I’ll remember you Potting Bathtub - your large marble vanity tops and the natural lighting piercing through the sides of your mirror… Love !
Tumblr media
A Comfort to Remember
Like all good things must come to an end, Ketty had to leave and I had to bury myself back into work. We are so grateful for the time well-spent here. For me, it was a chance to get to experience Hong Kong in a humble sumptuous manner. For Ketty, it provided a swarm of experiences being in the centre of action and vibrance. The hotel is one worth revisiting and definitely one worth recommending to anyone: young couples, older couples, bachelorette parties, anniversary getaways, friendly getaways, or just an individual staycation! Its beautiful decor, yet not so overwhelming that takes you off the edge.
Humble staff that releases you off your guard. It was a hotel that made me feel at home and at ease. Truly a gem in Hong Kong and has yet to be recognised even further!
Thank you to the hotel and all its staff, especially Gina Tam for the amazing hospitality!

Beautiful Homes of Instagram: Connecticut Beach House
Hello my wonderful friends! How are you today? It’s great to be back with this new “Beautiful Homes of Instagram” post especially because I am featuring such a talented and kind woman! Marcie, from @designsixtyfive, is a busy mom of two little boys, and, together with her husband, she managed to renovate and decorate this gorgeous Connecticut beach house.
I can’s stress enough for you to follow her on Instagram because she’s one of those rare people you meet and instantly feel connected to. Here, Marcie shares more details about her home:
“When we began planning for our home renovation, Home Bunch was one of my go-to sources for inspiration, so to be sharing our own home on this platform now is such an honor! I first started Design Sixty Five as a way to document our renovation for posterity, not thinking anyone would actually be interested in following along with the progress. A year later, I am truly amazed at how it taken on a life of its own and has become such a fulfilling creative outlet. It brings me so much joy to exchange ideas and inspiration with others and I couldn’t be happier to share our renovation experience here with you!”
Beautiful Homes of Instagram: Connecticut Beach House
“We bought this 1920’s colonial in 2012 (before having children) when it was only 1,300 square feet with 3 small bedrooms and 1 bathroom. After growing our family to include 2 kids and 2 dogs, we felt it was time for us to either expand or move. We fell in love with the location of this home, which is within walking distance of downtown as well as the beach, so we decided to renovate in order to make this home work for our family in the long term.”

Expanding your Dreams
“As part of the renovation, we essentially gutted the existing house, demolished an old detached garage and 3-season sunroom, and added on an attached garage, mudroom, kitchen, master suite and junior suite. While it might have been easier to demolish the entire house and start from scratch, we loved the original house and wanted to stay true to its history, charm and character. We replaced the windows, siding and roof and added architectural details to create interest and dimension while honoring the style of the original house. The newly renovated house is approximately 2,400 square feet and has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.”

Full-scale Home Remodel Inspiration
A single dad recently hired the talented Lisa Furey of Lisa Furey Interiors (previously featured here & here) to help with the full-scale gut remodel of a contemporary style home overlooking a gorgeous duck pond and park in Villanova, PA. The designer selected all finishes, from flooring to the millwork. She designed custom cabinetry throughout the home, and selected the handmade tile, stone, plumbing and lighting. The designer also created furniture plans, made the furniture selection, designed window treatments and rugs. The best part of this job for her was creating a happy space for a great dad and his endearing young daughter.

$550,000 Homes in Minnesota, Massachusetts and Indiana
St. Paul, Minn. | $548,000
A two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium in a 1904 Regency Revival building
This home is in the Ramsey Hill neighborhood, known for its concentration of Victorian buildings on tree-lined streets. F. Scott Fitzgerald grew up a few blocks away. Converted into condos in the 1980s, the 16-unit building is named for Nathan Hale, as is a park across the street, with a statue of the executed Continental Army spy. (The statue is the first known tribute to Hale west of the Ohio River.) Historic houses, shops, restaurants and bars are nearby, with a concentration of businesses along Selby Avenue, four blocks north.
Size: 1,280 square feet
Price per square foot: $428
Indoors: The unit is a third-floor walk-up. It has large windows, wood floors, paneled wainscoting and nine-and-a-half-foot ceilings.
The front door opens to a hallway, with a living room on the left, a combined dining room and kitchen on the right, and a pair of bedrooms straight ahead. The living room has a wall of built-in cabinetry and a facing pair of closets. The kitchen is fitted out with white cabinets topped with stone (in the case of the square seating island) or butcher block (for the work counters). The stainless steel appliances include a Viking range.
Both bedrooms have operable glass transoms over their paneled doors, and both bathrooms have black-and-white-honeycomb tiled floors, marble-topped vanities and walk-in showers. The master bedroom includes a walk-in closet that connects to a bathroom with twin sinks. (It can also be entered from the hallway.) The second bedroom has a wall of built-in bookshelves and is currently used as a study. The unit also has a stacked washer and dryer in a hallway closet.
Outdoor space: A door in the kitchen opens to a private outdoor area off an exterior staircase. Parking is in a covered garage bay that comes with the unit.
Taxes: $4,378 (based on a 2018 tax assessment of $295,100), plus a monthly $597 homeowner’s fee

Sandisfield, Mass. | $539,000
A net-zero-energy passive house built in 2010, with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, on 11.3 acres
Built for energy efficiency — monthly costs for electricity, heat and hot water top out at $25, even in winter — this house is in a town of about 860 in the southern Berkshires. It is close to farms, ponds, forests, hiking trails, skiing and fine dining. Lenox, Mass., and the Tanglewood Music Center are about 21 miles northwest; the Ski Butternut resort in Great Barrington is about 13 miles northwest; and Springfield is about 36 miles east. Albany International Airport, in New York, and Bradley International Airport, in Connecticut, are about an hour away.
Size: 2,872 square feet
Price per square foot: $188
Indoors: The house minimizes energy consumption through blown-in cellulose insulation, upgraded triple-pane fiberglass windows, superior air sealing and a heat-recovery ventilator, among other strategies.
The main level has polished, radiant-solar-heated concrete floors and quarter-sawn oak trim throughout, and centers on a large, open room with a post-and-beam loft built of Douglas fir.
Between the living and dining areas is a Tulikivi soapstone wood-burning stove. The living area has an open-beamed timber ceiling and a built-in wood storage unit. The open kitchen has wood cabinetry, a curved seating peninsula with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances.
To the left of the entrance is a den with a recently installed wet bar with natural stone counters. A screened porch is off the dining area.
The two main floor bedrooms include a master with a long window seat with built-in storage. There is a main-floor hallway bathroom with stone tile surfaces and a glass-walled shower, as well as a half bathroom next to a laundry room.
The fir-wood-floored loft holds a third bedroom with a pair of cedar-lined closets, an open den area with built-in bookshelves and a full bathroom.
Outdoor space: The large front yard has raised garden beds. In back is an apple and pear grove. Parking is in an attached two-car garage with storage space.
Taxes: $6,025

Bloomington, Ind. | $550,000
An early 1990s post-and-beam house with three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and a separate garage and studio building, on 20 acres
This home is about six miles northeast of the center of Bloomington and five miles from the Indiana University campus, on a large, hilly piece of land cut with hiking trails. A former occupant of the property was Bob Glaze, a local television celebrity known as Cowboy Bob, the host of a children’s variety show in the 1970s and ’80s called “Chuckwagon Theater” and, later, “Cowboy Bob’s Corral.” The owner has made substantial improvements inside and out, including a new kitchen, a 1,200-square-foot finished studio space in a former pole barn and a reconfigured driveway.
Size: 3,677 square feet
Price per square foot: $150
Indoors: The post-and-beam building has an open layout with brick floors and lofted ceilings on the main level. Standing in the kitchen, you can see past the second floor, where the master suite is, clear up to the third.
The kitchen has maple cabinets with a distressed, painted finish and bluestone tile covering the original Formica counters (oak is on the island).
The owner installed an efficient Blaze King wood stove in the living room and refinished the main-floor bathroom with reclaimed barn wood and fluted metal on the walls, adding a claw-foot tub. This floor also has a study behind double glass doors.
The second-floor master suite has parquet flooring throughout and includes a sitting area overlooking the living room that is next to a walk-in closet and used as a dressing room. The third floor has two bedrooms with peaked ceilings under the roof gable, arched windows and skylights.
The cement-floored studio has a full bathroom and a kitchenette (but no stove).
Outdoor space: The owner created the fenced garden. There is also a stone patio and a dog run. Parking is in a garage bay attached to the studio building.
Taxes: $2,598 (2019)

Sign up for eletters today and get the latest how-to from Fine Homebuilding, plus special offers.
Once again, we’ve put together an inspiring and informative annual special on arguable the most challenging rooms to design—kitchens and baths. It’s available now, right here. Since we can only fit so many photos in the magazine, we decided to share some of the shots that landed on the cutting-room floor. Click the Launch Slideshow button below to enjoy these 24 photos, and also check out the complete projects in this year’s issue of Kitchens & Baths.

×
1. From the article “Old School“: Joana Tan Jamo, AIA, principal at JTJ Architects, designed this traditional-kitchen addition for a 1980 Colonial home in Connecticut. The homeowners wanted a classic style and a lot of function, so the kitchen is organized to have very specific zones. The window seat, for example, which now has a table in front of it, is designed for casual breakfasts. It’s situated directly across from a small kitchen television.
2. Joana’s clients’ former kitchen was part of a great room that they just didn’t like—the kitchen was cramped and the room was noisy. The new kitchen addition is connected to the living space through a bookcase-lined vestibule with pocket doors that can be opened for connectivity or closed for privacy.
3. Before the kitchen addition, two large volumes—the original house and a great room addition—created an exterior that sorely lacked character.
4. The new addition dresses up the exterior with more interesting rooflines, a covered entry porch, and the paneled window-seat bump-out. Above the kitchen, the addition created enough space for a new guest room.
5. Sean Flynn of Vermont’s Silver Maple Construction was the builder and an integral part of the design team for the three beautiful baths featured in the article “Three of a Kind.” Besides the clean lines and cool colors of the baths, what we love about this project is the cohesive design between all the rooms in the house. Notice the walnut vanity cabinet in this light-filled master bath.
6. Does this counter look familiar? The design/build team carried the walnut theme into the kitchen, as found in the countertop, waterfall edge, and open shelving. Like in the master bath, the walnut makes a big impact against more subtle features like the white, flat-panel cabinets.
7. There’s more walnut in the powder room, where a floating, open-shelf vanity keeps the space feeling open. The green tile floor flows in from the foyer outside the powder-room door.
8. In the foyer, an elegant display niche, a decorative paneled ceiling, and a minimalist steel handrail maintain the clean modern design of the home.
9. Architect Rob Sanders designed this new kitchen to replace a worn 1980s Pullman-style kitchen in “More Midcentury.” The midcentury modern style is more in keeping with the home’s original character than the previous kitchen, and the layout benefits the home’s floor plan at large. Built against partition walls that don’t quite reach the ceiling, the kitchen adds just enough separation between the working room and the adjacent dining room and living space.
10. While the original exterior offered nice views of the wooded property, the old single-pane windows were inefficient and the exterior details were uninspired at best.
11. All the windows and doors were upgraded and a small addition was built to offer just enough additional space for the new kitchen and a better entry into the home.
12. The article “Full of Personality” features this kitchen designed by Jacqueline Fortier of St. Paul, Minn. This very custom kitchen is designed to suit the personalities of the family members who live there. Among the more interesting elements are the custom steel island frame and the reclaimed hutch—an integral part of the kitchen’s storage scheme.
13. Because the kitchen has a lot of detail, Jacqueline chose to use wood fronts on the fridge. The panels match the cabinetry, painted and glazed for a rich texture.
14. Jacqueline says that open dish racks not only add charm to the right kitchens, but that they are also more convenient than her clients first realize. Over time, she says, they often become the homeowner’s favorite kitchen features.
15. From “Traditional Touch“: The asymmetrical Barclay Lydia slipper tub is the first thing you see when you enter this master bathroom designed by Danielle Burger of Kitchen Vitality Design. At 65 in., the tub is large enough for a comfortable soak, but because it’s only 28-1/2-in. wide, it fit through the bath’s original door opening without needing to remove the jambs.
16. Built from three 12-in.-deep bookshelf cabinets, the built-in storage unit provides a surprising amount of storage without interfering with the bath’s walking path. Although most bookshelf cabinets are 36 in. tall, these are 32 in. to match the vanity cabinets.
17. Wall-mounted toilets like the Veil from Kohler are a great way to save space in a small bath. Because the tank is within the wall, they can save 10 in. to 12 in. in front of the toilet. The steel frame within the wall that supports the bowl is available for both 2×4 and 2×6 walls.
18. After retiring and remodeling their own home, design/build team Jeff Sollenberger and Patricia Job needed a project. As described in “A Kitchen Under $20k: A Labor of Love,” they took on an investment property, a gut remodel, where they put a lot of their effort into the kitchen, while limiting their spending to under $17k.
19. Though the old kitchen was entirely remodeled, one of the greatest impacts was opening up the original arched passageway to the adjacent living room.
20. Lighting was a splurge on this project. The pendants add style and task lighting to the peninsula.
21. The paneled wainscot is an example of how Jeff and Patricia made a big impact with little cash outlay. Jeff did the carpentry, and the frame material was mostly scraps applied directly to the drywall.
22. In “A Family Affair,” we learn about this new bath designed by Steve Campbell of The Johnson Partnership in Seattle, Wa. It’s his sister in-law’s home and the work construction was also completed by family members. The floating vanity cabinet, curbless shower, and glass shower surround offer a wide-open-feeling master bath in not-so-big space.
23. A sliding frosted-glass-panel door adds character to the master-suite hallway and doesn’t swing into the bath’s floor space.
24. The cool mosaic tile backsplash and frameless mirrored medicine cabinets complement the bath’s sleek look.
