Everything and more // María León
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request and kinda this. Enjoy
Ale felt like she was talking to a wall.
The team was in their local pub, enjoying the day off after the el clasico win.
Mapi was sat next to you and Alexia and before Alexia could even start talking, the defender had only eyes for you. Your hand was resting comfortably on her thigh as you talked to Patri. Mapis skin was on fire, something she couldn‘t control when you were near or more than that, touching her. That girl was madly in love with you - a teenager romance.
You look at her - weak knees.
You talk to her - stuttering mess.
You hug her - wobbly wreck.
All in all, it didn‘t matter what you did or said at the end of the day Mapi would love you either way If not more.
Everything and more.
Looking at you with googly eyes, she couldn’t help but smile at you, lovingly.
After minutes of trying to get the blonde to engage in the conversation, Alexia just stopped and started talking to the other girls.
Every question towards Mapi fell to deaf ears as she admired you, heart skipping a beat at each of your smiles. María couldn‘t help but scoot closer to you, her arm around your waist as she bit her lip, eyes roaming over every inch of your body. "Amor" she whispered the conversation with Patri came to a stop due the waiter bringing new drinks, "can we go home?" she whined, her free hand wandering along your leg, inching closer to your private area.
"No"
Letting out a huff, she pulled her hand away from your leg yet not leaving your touch completely.
The next hour was the same as the first: Mapi fully obsessed with you and everything you do.
Every now and then she would whisper an 'i love you' in your ear with a sloppy needy kiss to your cheek.
"Drinks?" you asked the girls after awhile, slightly tipsy. They cheered in agreement. As you stood up, Mapi got up as well, not wanting leave your side. You looked at her confused, what was she doing? "I‘m helping youuu" she sang, grinning as her hand slipped in the back pocket of your jeans - claiming you as hers.
There were 3 stages of Mapi;
stage 1: sober - madly in love with and follows you like a puppy.
stage 2: tipsy/ little bit more - energetically in love with you and gets clingy.
stage 3: drunk/ wasted - crazily in love with you, clingy and follows you like a lost puppy.
And stage 2 was the case at the moment. Nevertheless, her jealousy was there at every stage, yet it wasn't the level that mattered but the person who you talked to/flirted with you - she was always jealous. It just depened on the person how much. "Baby, take a seat" you told her in a sweet voice, kissing her lips quickly. Mapi gave you her famous drunk-pout with crossed but didn‘t say anything. Though, she watched you like a hawk as you walked up to the bar. The team took the chance to talk to their friend with no success. With her eyes drained on your beautiful figure, her heart swooned at everything you did. It wasn‘t until a mid aged man came near you. Her lovestruck smile turned into a clenched jaw.
"Hey, i‘m sorry. Are you Y/l/n?" he asked, friendly.
"Yeah! How are you?" you replied, matching his friendly demeanor. "I don‘t want to bother you but my daugther - she’s 6" he showed you his lock screen, a little girl grinning widely as she held a Barcelona jersey in her hands. "That was her reaction when my wife and I gifted her your jersey. She‘s a really big fan."
"Thats really sweet!"
"Um, well, is there any chance I could take a photo with you or get an autograph somehow? Of course only if you agree with it a 100%"
As you thought of the little girl who had such a big smile on her face, your mind was made up quickly, "why don‘t we do both?"
It was clear to say she definitely got that bright smile from her father. "Thank you so much!"
As you took the picture with him, he made sure to have a respectable amount space between the two of you. And as you were about to scribble your signature on the napkin, you felt an arm snuggle around you. María. She pressed a kiss to your temple as she made her statement, "hola amor, ¿quién es?" she asked, glaring at the creature of a man. "This is-"
"Jack" he ended your sentence.
"His daughter is a big fan" you declared, knowing how her mind was working. Interwining your fingers, you calmed the defender down who had already made up a few scenarios in her mind what was going on and how to shoo him away. "Sign here too, love" you pointed at the napkin, smiling wide. You loved to make fans happy, something Mapi loved about you. She grabbed the pen, signing the napkin as well with a little heart next to yours. Again, a silent statement. You knew it meant something but not what exactly. Her mind was working in a strange possessive clingy way when it came to you, the love of her life.
Jack thanked the both of you, walking back to his table as you turned around on the bar stool. You didn‘t say anything, just raised an brow. "Don‘t give me that look, mi vida. He- he was flirting and i-" she tried to defend herself, babbling about the man who actually turned out to be really nice, something she didn‘t expect.
"you got soo jealous because someone who isn‘t you was talking to me, hm?" you mocked her, giggling at the defeated look on her face.
Kissing away her pout, you mumbled a "te amo" against her lips, her heart skipping a beat like always. As she ordered the tables drinks, she had her arms around you, minding her own business - you - as the two of you waited. She pressed kisses all over your face, loving the laughter that came in respond.
"There you are!" Patri yelled as you finally arrived at the table with drinks.
María placed the tray of drinks on the table, not saying anything as she sat down on the chair, Alexia looked at you, why was she having a frown on her face. Rolling your eyes, you answered her question: Mapi was being Mapi.
As you were about to walk to your own seat the defender pulled at your hips - her lap was now your new seat. "Don’t say anything" she grumbled.
"Your drinks" the new waitress said as she stared at you with hungry eyes. Of course, Mapi noticed the behavior of the lady. Already with Marías hands around your body, the waitress didn‘t seem to mind that you were clearly in a relationship, your girl right next to you.
As her arms hugged your waist, her fingers lacing together, to hold you tight, your arm went around her shoulder. "She was totally eye-fucking you" she stated again, claiming that the bartender had the hots for you. You looked at her, absently, playing with a strand of loose hair, "baby, how many times do I have to tell you, I don‘t care"
"Well, I do!" drowning her drink, she carried on, "they all do, all the time! We can‘t go out without someone flirting or eye-fucking you"
"María, why do you care so much about it? I‘m yours" you whispered, forehead leaning against the defender. "I don‘t know, something it’s just- my mind doesn‘t like the thought of you with someone else"
"Do you want to go home?" you asked, the defender at the verge of tears, more than one drink in her body showing their work. She just mumbled a yes in your chest as she hugged you like a toddler "te amo mi vida, te amo mucho"
Saying bye to the girls, they understood the matter, well Alexia understood, the only one who had one drink the whole night. Besides she was Mapis best friend, she knew her well enough. With some complains of the girls, you left anyways. Marías arm around your mid section on the way home, every so often pressing kisses to your cheek, jaw and temple. She would have prefered if she could have carried you home but nonetheless happy that you were in her grasp and hers general.
At home, the girl didn‘t leave your side, "¿beso?" she asked as you took of your shoes. You did as she wished, pressing a peck to her lips, the defender smiling happily as she did a little jump.
In the kitchen, she hugged you from behind, kissing along your neck and bare shoulder, loving you the way you deserved.
"¿beso?"
"Sí, beso" puckering her lips, she waited for you to press yours on her own. When you did, her skin caught fire. She pushed you against the counter, kissing the life out of you. She loved to kiss you.
In the bathroom, as you were about to brush your teeth, she again asked the question that haunted you since the moment you left the bar, "¿beso?" Of course you kissed her, you loved it just as much as the defender to kiss one another. It made your heart race, skin tingle, soul happy and mind spin.
In bed, Mapi laying on top of you with her head hidden in your neck, she mumbled inaudible words.
"You want to have a kiss right?" you asked giggling.
"No" she answered to your surprise.
"No?"
"No. quiero un beso de buenas noches" she pressed featherlight kisses to your jaw, loving the way your breath hitched at her touch. It was your turn to say "no"
"No?"
"No"
Quickly the defender sat up, staddling your waist as she glared while frowning at you, "¿por que?"
"Said so" giving her the bitchy-shoulder-gesture, you tried to hold in your laugh as you could see the dots working in her brain. "No no no, you love me and I love you so bésame" she demanded, leaning down, prompting her weight on her arms as they rested dangerously close next to your head, "¡bésame!" she grumbled, an inch away. You could feel her breath against your lips, your own hitching at the slight hand movement along your exposed stomach. "Amor, bésame" she now whined, "pretty please" giving you puppy dog eyes, you had to give in, your hands cupped her cheeks, poking them, "so needy" you giggled.
Staring at one another with so much love in each others eyes, you both leaned in, lips touching ever so gentle. It was more than just a good night kiss, it was kiss so soft and loving that meant everything for the both of you.
I love you.
You‘re everything to me.
I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
Every love confession in the world wouldn’t have been enough to describe what you felt in that moment.
Everything and more.

the grudge (4) // barça femení x reader

barça femení x reader
part one part two part three
happier times are coming i promise
-
it was the first day of training since arriving back in barcelona and much to everyone’s surprise, you were willing to tag along with mapi and ingrid. you even agreed to go out to breakfast with them beforehand.
you’d never say it out loud but it was because you were scared to be on your own. with your thoughts and that stupid bright red plaster cast. in hindsight it was a dumb idea to let the biggest gooner on earth pick the colour.
ingrid watched with a frown as you pushed your food around your plate, nibbling at something every now and again. mapi was chattering away about a new tattoo she was wanting, completely unaware that neither of you were listening.
you felt something nudge your foot and looked up to meet ingrid’s curious eyes, you gave her a small smile and managed to eat a few spoonfuls of food. just enough to keep her worries at bay but not enough that your stomach twisted uncomfortably.
“you okay?” ingrid asked softly, mapi turning to look at you too.
you nodded in response, watching as the couple deflated. you hadn’t said a word since the match in london and they’d been trying everything in an attempt to get you to speak but to no avail. yes or no questions got answered, open ended questions were left hanging in the air.
the rest of breakfast was fairly quiet and if you weren’t still wallowing in self-pity, you probably would’ve felt bad for pulling the mood down.
mapi and ingrid helped you into the car, the two of them letting you have control of the music. when you quietly started to hum along, mapi jolted in her seat and ingrid was quick to nudge the spaniard, giving her a look whilst shaking her head.
arriving at training wasn’t nearly as bad as you were expecting. you felt a little sad but had already decided that maybe a break from football would be good for you, considering you had been playing non-stop for months and months.
you slowly followed behind mapi and ingrid, keeping your eyes trained on your feet and crutches, still not confident using them just yet. the norwegian turned slightly to make sure you were alright and chuckled softly when she spotted you, tongue poking out from your lips as you concentrated.
“you okay?” ingrid asked and you looked up, cheeks flushing. mapi turned too and your blush deepened.
you nodded, giving them both a small smile. sometimes you really didn’t like how well ingrid actually knew you because whilst mapi seemed content with your non-verbal answer, you caught the way ingrid’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.
you knew that she wouldn’t pull you up on whatever she was thinking, there was no point really. you’d hardly spoken since the hospital in london. and on the rare occasions you had spoken, you were uncharacteristically awful to any and everyone. well, almost everyone.
the only people you’d let in since then were mapi, ingrid, and leah. the former choosing to facetime you every night since the incident, letting you decide when to hang up, even if it meant you two sat in silence for hours.
mapi and ingrid had insisted that your stay in their place became permanent and you, once again, had zero objections, having already grown extremely comfortable living with them.
so when you inevitably ended up in the lockeroom, you folded in on yourself, huddling next to mapi. the sympathetic looks and quiet conversations made you feel sick and regret agreeing to watch the girls train.
you and mapi were the last ones on the grass and when you got comfortable on the floor of the sidelines, she dropped a bag in front of you. you hadn’t seen her carrying it so of course you were confused. but she’d joined the session before you could find your voice and ask about it.
opening the bag, you felt your stomach flip as you realised that the spaniard seemed to know you just as well as ingrid. she’d filled it with your favourite drinks and snacks, along with a sketchbook and all kinds of pencils.
with a small satisfied smile, you took out the supplies and let yourself escape the real world.
so when mapi collapsed into a heap next to you ten minutes later, you unconsciously handed her a bottle without sparing her a glance.
“gracias,” mapi said and you hummed absentmindedly. “what are you drawing?”
you looked up then, shifting your legs to hide your sketchbook from her view. you glanced over to see alexia already looking over at the two of you, and you just assumed that she was the one who had sent mapi over to check on you.
“let me see,” mapi moved closer and your hand instantly shot out, keeping her at a safe distance. “hey!”
she swatted at you but you held your own, pushing her away whenever she tried to peek. for a moment, she hesitated, thinking that you were starting to get agitated. but she saw that you were actually fighting back a smile.
“maría!” you laughed as she ripped the pencil from your hand. she looked at you in shock before recovering and quickly reaching out to mess up the order you had placed the pencils in. you kicked at her with your good leg. “go away!”
mapi moved back but she didn’t go away. you raised your eyebrows slightly since you could clearly see that she was holding something back.
you kicked at her again, gently this time, motioning for her to say whatever she wanted to say.
“i might have invited some of the girls over tonight for some food,” she told you, a nervous smile on her face. you stared at her blankly. “do not look at me like that!”
“when you say some–“
“i mean it. it is not a team night, i promise,” you studied her face, searching for any traces of a lie but you found none. “and if it gets too much for you, i will send them all away. even ingrid.”
you laughed softly before nodding. “okay.”
mapi instantly brightened, quickly re-sorting your pencils to the order that she thought they were in before shooting back into the training session.
truthfully, you wanted nothing more than to turn her down, not really wanting to spend time with anyone who wasn’t mapi or ingrid but everyone was trying.
and you owed it to them to try as well.
ᡣ𐭩
mapi was extremely proud of herself. not only did the apartment look great but you were still willing to join the mini girls night she had planned.
ingrid was busying herself with the task of actually making sure they had everything they needed, despite the spaniard’s protests that they did.
so when all of that was finished and mapi knocked on your door to tell you that the girls wouldn’t be long, she really didn’t like what she saw when you opened the door.
your eyes were red and teary, cheeks flushed with dried tear stains on them. your lip jutted out slightly as you sniffled, bagheera circling your legs whilst rubbing against you. you lifted a shaky hand to wipe at your eyes.
mapi didn’t ask you what was wrong because she knew you wouldn’t tell her so instead she gently hugged you before sending you off to ingrid, deciding that you were not in the headspace to deal with as many of the girls as she’d hoped.
grabbing her phone, mapi texted apologies and explanations, feeling nothing but relief when she got sympathy and understanding in return.
ingrid was the one to answer the door when soft knocks echoed through the quiet space. mapi watched with amusement as your face changed, evidently trying to figure out who was there by the voices you could hear.
you brightened up for a second before sinking back into the sofa. you weren’t really sure why any of them had agreed to come, you hadn’t exactly been the nicest person to be around.
that’s why you stayed snuggled up with mapi and bagheera for the first half an hour, focusing solely on the cat and not on the stares you could feel.
“hey,” mapi nudged you and you looked up at her. “we are making pizza.”
“we are?” you asked quietly and she could see the hesitation on your face.
“sí,” she nodded. “they are not mad at you, lo prometo.”
you didn’t really believe her but you were hungry and pizza was one of your favourite foods so you let mapi help you off the sofa and into the kitchen.
glancing around at the newcomers, you decided that ona was your best bet. for multiple reasons. the main one being that alexia, lucy, and keira had all been on the receiving end of your wrath.
“hola, oni.” you said quietly, standing next to her and glancing down at the pizza dough.
“oh, hello,” ona smiled warmly and you felt a little relieved that at least she wasn’t upset with you. “do you know how to do this?”
“i most certainly do. used to do this all the time back in london so we are going to smoke those losers.”
you reached for the knife but huffed when the crutch attached to your arm bounced off the cabinet. you tried again and got the same result. you put aside one of the crutches, keeping the one on the side of your good leg so you could lean your weight on it.
when ona wrapped her arm around your waist to help keep you steady, you purposefully ignored the flip of your stomach and carried on with your plan to cut the pizza into a heart shape.
as the time flew passed, you grew more and more relaxed, eventually finding yourself laughing with the other girls like nothing had ever happened.
you had tried to apologise but they were quick to shut you down, lucy even going as far as shoving a slice of pizza into your mouth when you tried again.
keira and alexia had both hugged you and made you promise that you’d talk to them all more instead of keeping everything inside, a horrible habit of yours.
you swallowed thickly and nodded. “i don’t think i can promise that but i can try.”
ingrid smiled and placed her hand on your knee. “that is all we ask of you, elskling.”
you gave her a small smile in return, eagerly accepting mapi’s offer of picking the movie. you had ended up sitting between her and alexia on the sofa, the former’s fingers combing through your hair.
about halfway through, you felt your eyes getting heavy but lucy was teasing you about it so you were determined to make it to the end of the movie.
you didn’t.
not even five minutes later, you were dozing off and alexia was quick to guide you to lean against her, your head resting comfortably on her shoulder.
you were awoken a little while later when you were placed on your bed, whining at the sudden loss of warmth. your eyes fluttered open and you reached out, wrapping your fist around the hoodie alexia was wearing. “stay.”
“vale.” she slipped next to you under the covers and you immediately nestled into her side.
“night, ale.” you murmured, tucking your head into her neck.
alexia wrapped her arm around you, pulling you closer to her, and rubbing your back soothingly.
“night, cariño.”

SOCIALIZING PROBLEMS. | mapi león
mapi león x reader
genre: not fluff at all, accidental confession, teenager love.
warnings: a bit of headcanon, reader being a stupid curious, mapi confessing unintentionally, also mapi being an assertive/passive person.
notes: i had this prompt when i was cooking an egg. dios im really sorry for making u guys wait too long, also i feel like this is the worst writing I've ever done in my life.
𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: You are secretly Mapi's love and you have negative impressions about her.
But that ended when Maria accidentally left her sketchbook on the bench at the locker room.
Tumblr media
“ If I had a flower for every time I thought of you... I could walk through my garden forever. ”
Tennyson.
Tumblr media
❝ Damn. Mapi, you should become an artist. ❞ From the other side of the locker room, you could hear Pina's lips praising the spanish's drawings once again.
It was already the fifth time that day that someone had praised the scribbles in that notebook. And you too, but only in your head. You didn't even have the courage to go there and see the drawings.
Two years ago you were transferred to Barcelona. Everything was normal, you made friends, adapted to the Spain style, adapted to new rules.
But you didn't adapt to Maria León. You didn't have the slightest ability to go up to her and have a chat lasting more than two minutes.
Normally you just greet her, that's when you don't even look at her face. Anyone who saw the two of you together would pinky swear that hated each other.
This was all because in your little mind, Mapi had the greatest disinterest in you. After all, you came to this conclusion when you noticed that the defender always ran away from the conversation when you arrives.
However, over time, you accepted this treatment from the spanish woman, even if you were curious to understand the player. You even told this whole situation to Ona, your best friend.
But it was always the same dilemma: “Relax, she’s shy. “ or “ Mapi has difficulty meeting new people. “
Yet that never made sense, after all, Mapi is anything but bashful.
It became a huge snowball since you never bothered to go talk to her. Therefore, currently your relationship with Mapi is completely lacking affection.
And it was just with you.
Claudia, for example, was one of the lucky ones. She was glued to the blonde's side, attentively observing each page of the spanish woman's small notebook with the greatest freedom and comfort.
At that moment, the defender had both feet on the bench, so she could rest the notebook on her knees. Mapi slowly leafed through the drawings for her friend once again.
❝ Yo ya te dije, who knows in a few years. ❞ (I already told you.) León reply to the other spanish woman's compliment with a very hopeful tone, as part of her dream was to be a tattoo artist.
As always, you just looked at the two girls talking, as you sat, untying your boots.
❝ If you look for longer, you will have bad luck. ❞ Ona mocked your indeterminate stare. ❝ If you’re so interested, go there. ❞ She states while taking off her training uniform.
❝ Madness. She doesn't like me and you want me to suddenly get there? ❞ You threw those words into the air so quickly that Ona took a while to formulate something.
❝ Why do you think she hates you? ❞ Your friend countered.
❝ I've told you thousands of times, Ona. She looks at me dirty, ignores me, she doesn't even want to talk to me even though I'm her training partner! ❞ You justify while gesturing nervously.
❝ Stop being fucking neurotic. ❞ The spanish woman rolled her eyes, finishing putting on her post-workout clothes. ❝ Ve allí, siéntate a su lado y descubrirás por qué te trata así. ❞ (Go there, sit next to her and you will find out why she treats you like that.) Ona stated.
You only knew the basics of spanish, deciphering what the defender had said would take a while. ❝ Huh, what? Find out what? ❞
Ona didn't respond, just giving you a stupid smile and a wink.
Slowly, the oldest left your side and walked towards Mapi and Claudia. The moment she got there, Batlle poked Pina's shoulder and approached, murmuring something in her ear.
❝ What the fuck are you doing?! ❞ You whispered to yourself, automatically standing up; scared and surprised.
Suddenly, you felt the greatest penetration of looking in your direction: Claudia Pina looked at you as if she knew all your secrets, giving you chills.
She smiled a huge and mischievous smile, raised her arm and waved it, calling you over.
Before you went, the only thing you observed was Mapi's embarrassed and awkward manner, grumbling at the two spanish women for calling you.
You thought for seconds before taking the step to go there. A whirlwind of thoughts ran through your mind, like a river heading straight for the waterfall.
What if you are a nuisance to her? What if she leaves the moment you get there?
You were very worried about the relationship with someone you don't even are intimate with.
You worry about the image you give to a person that don't even want to be your friend.
Thus, your heart began to run a marathon from the moment you started your very slow steps towards Mapi León.
Maybe you were afraid of hurting her, but at the same time yourself. As if your feelings were bubbling for the defender and you didn't want to ruin everything.
In your peripheral vision, the only notable details were María closing her notebook as quickly as a middle school student after the last bell, Claudia and Ona smiling goofily and pointing at the defender.
❝ What was it? ❞ Those were your first words when you reached the other side of the locker room, completely looking away from Mapi and just focusing on the other two.
❝ You're the only one on the team who hasn't seen Mapi's drawings, right? ❞ Claudia gave the first word, pushing León's shoulder with her elbow.
You didn't even bother to answer correctly, just opening a painful smile.
❝ Yes, I think so. ❞
After you responded, Mapi frowned, rolling her eyes. This only made you more certain that León actually hated you.
❝ But there's no need to show it. I mean, I'm not interested. ❞ They were the stupidest words that came out of your mouth.
The shine in Mapi's eyes slowly faded with each word that left your lips, the spanish woman's fingers ran to the back of her neck, uncomfortable. At this point, you should be sure that you almost hurt the girl.
❝ Don't be like that. Come on Mapi, show it. ❞ Ona finally said something in the midst of the discomfort of that conversation, lightly patting the other spanish woman on the head.
❝ I'll show you later, I need to pack my things. ❞ Maria came up with the most false excuse possible, since her things were almost one hundred percent ready. León's fingers rested on the slap, giving Ona a dirty look.
Your eyes fell on Claudia and Ona, indignant at all of this.
But you didn't know why. It wasn't as if the lack of communication between two companions would cause such great discomfort.
There was something more, you could feel it. Such something else that even Ona hides from you.
❝ Dios mío, esto es horrible. You two look like children who don't know how to talk to each other. ❞ (Oh my god, this is horrible.) Claudia gave her opinion amidst the silence.
❝ Son como dos chicas enojadas. ❞ (They're like two stupid girls. ) Batlle added.
Mapi stood up delicately, pulling the bag that was previously on the floor to the bench and opening it. ❝ Could you two shut up and get out of here, wouldn't you? ❞
The spontaneous rudeness really took you by surprise, mainly because the defender was staring at the other two, but not at you.
Pina raised her hands in defense, expressing a mere comical sadness on her face. ❝ Right. ❞
The same thing for Ona, who reached for the strap of her sports bag and put it on her left shoulder. ❝ Come on, Claudia. And don't be stupid with [reader]. ❞
❝ Que se jodan ustedes dos. ❞ (Fuck you two.) Mapi grumbled as she mock-rifled through her clothes.
Ona grabbed Claudia's arm and pulled her tightly to her feet, slowly dispersing herself from you and Mapi over time, killing the last few minutes. ❝ See you later, [reader]. ❞
Your eyes screamed for help to leave together, following the two girls until they left the main door.
Okay, now you were alone with the girl you were most afraid of.
Gradually, some people and groups would leave within minutes. Silence now, which had previously been scattered conversations, was prevailing, and that was delicious on the one hand.
After all, you loved being alone at times like this. But not with Maria.
You continued standing until Mapi offered you the bench next to her, and you did so. When you laid eyes on the spanish woman, you noticed her fingers pressing against her own temples, circling fingerprints there.
❝ I'm sorry about them. They are two idiots. ❞ León murmured as she took her fingers back to the bag, closing the zipper.
❝ Alright, no problem. I'm used to it. ❞ You responded with a typical defensive tone, unaccustomed to this type of conversation with her.
Your fingers tapped upper thigh, nervous and anxious, waiting for some miracle.
Momentarily, the spanish woman's brown globes rested on you, followed by a big sigh.
❝ I'm sorry if I'm stupid with you. And it's also bad if I didn't show you the drawings, it's just that— ❞ The defender was interrupted when Patri shouted her name.
❝ Hey, Mapi! ❞ The spanish woman appeared through the door of the main hallway. ❝ Can you check for me if my boots are dropped on the field? ❞
Maria looked at you with a roll of her optics, also accompanied by a tiny and shy smile. ❝ I'll be right back. ❞
The spanish woman slowly went to the gate that connected the changing room and the field, leaving you there freely in the area.
A dead silence remained there, there was no one else but the two of you inside that locker room, and now, only you.
Your body was still warm from training, but it could be for countless reasons, maybe because of your sudden meeting with Mapi, because of the fear of everything that happens in other conversations, happening now.
Eyes slowly took in every detail of the locker room: the ceiling, the floor, all the other stalls and even your bag on the other side.
But your orbs left for your side, where Mapi's unopened bag accidentally was. And of course, the damn sketchbook.
No, no. This is terrible, a lack of privacy. Your desire to leaf through that notebook was greater, but you should be aware.
It was only a matter of time before Mapi came back and finally opened that notebook, there was no point in leafing through it before then.
But despite everything, you were a very, very curious person.
❝ Damn. ❞ You muttered to yourself, intertwining your fingers so that you unconsciously wouldn't reach for the notebook.
But, well... Your eyes darted from side to side, making sure Maria wasn't there.
Your hand rested on the notebook, at the same time your heart accelerated so quickly as a result of your comportment. You should go back.
Slowly, you opened it enough so you could peek at the drawings. Incredibly, they were drawings of outlooks and Mapi's cats.
Despite everything, it wasn't that bad. ❝ Damn. ❞ You mumbled.
Suddenly, a folded sheet of paper fell from the middle of the pages of the notebook, falling to the floor. Your face produced a confused expression until the moment you reached the sheet.
At the same time that you were almost putting the sheet back from where it had fallen, you unfolded it.
Your heartbeat increased from the moment you caught sight of your name written there, along with a drawing of yourself and several doodles in the surrounding area.
Initials together, stick drawings of the two of you together that you were sure Claudia and Ona had scribbled, your name was written in every color there was.
There, maybe you realized why Mapi never showed you the notebook. Why Mapi hated being by your side when she was with the girls.
You could feel your face burn, turning red little by little, until it was like a pepper.
Immediately, you threw your hands up to your face, along with the sheet. You breathed once, twice and three times until you understood the situation.
❝ Shit. ❞ You mumbled to yourself with a muffled tone, still with your face hidden in your hands.
Your body slowly slid down the cabin wall, rethinking all the impressions you always had of Mapi.
You folded the sheet back and hid it in the notebook again.
Suddenly, Maria's figure slowly appeared in the locker room, mainly due to the sound of her footsteps.
Your torso rose, you became so desperate that you completely forgot to let go of the notebook in your hand.
Mapi slowly stopped walking and stopped in the middle of the locker room the moment her eyes fell on your hand with the notebook.
Slowly, her lips opened ready to say something. However, the spanish's internal desperation probably prevented this.
❝ I didn't see anything, I swear. ❞ Was the only thing you could say before throwing the notebook back onto the bench and waving your hands in defense.
Maria completely changed her route, walking quickly towards you. The moment she reached you, the player grabbed your hands and squeezed.
❝ Puedo explicarlo, en serio. ❞ (I can explain it, seriously.) Mapi stuttered between words and even forgot to say them in english.
The spanish woman's face didn't even bother to hide her embarrassment. You could feel the player's fingers trembling and of course, the strong desire to cry.
❝ I thought it was cute. ❞ In the midst of all the tension, these were your stupid words. Giving a short smile, which perhaps calmed León.
❝ What? ❞ Mapi asked, raising one of her eyebrows.
❝ The drawing. ❞
❝ But you said you didn't see anything. ❞ Maybe you didn't expect her to be so naive.
❝ I'm not going to lie, I saw everything. ❞ You answer with a defensive intonation, after all, you had no idea what would happen from now on. ❝ Even those scribbles on the sid— ❞
❝ That was the girls idea. ❞ Mapi justified it so quickly, was probably true.
It was at that moment that you realized that María León was not angry or disgusted with you. Mapi was actually in love with you and was ashamed to admit it.
This all explained the insults and scandals she made whenever the girls played with her. You were the concern of all the jokes.
❝ Right. First breathe. ❞ You advised the spanish girl to calm down, after all, she was shaking more than anything.
❝ Let me explain, please. I don't want you to get it wrong. ❞ Mapi begged to hold an explaination.
❝ Go ahead. ❞
❝ I'm not some kind of stalker, okay? I only drew you because, well… Because I like you and I thought you were pretty. ❞ The defender gets confused in her own words.
You were sure that wasn't what she wanted, Mapi didn't want to confess like that stupid way.
❝ But I completely understand if you think I'm crazy like that... ❞ Mapi slowly closed her eyes, trying to throw all the despair inside. ❝ Dios mío, ¿qué carajo estoy diciendo? ❞ (Oh my god, what the fuck am I saying?)
❝ Hey, it's okay... I guess. ❞ You tried to calm down from the moment you felt León's fingers slowly slip from your hands.
Your mind enfolded the sight of Mapi in front of you, it was the only thing you could pay attention to.
Heart felling affliction, a feeling full of pity for the whole situation that Maria went through made you think a lot.
While you had the wrong impression of her, Mapi couldn't control own feelings.
❝ I don't know what to say about all this. ❞ You produced a sentence where you could try to be understandable with it. ❝ I thought you hated me. ❞
❝ What? Why?! ❞ León was really shocked.
❝ Huh… You always sounded or looked ignorant to me. But it wasn't bad, I had the wrong impression. ❞ Your lips moved automatically, everything you kept about her these two years finally escaped.
Mapi gave a short smile, perhaps your words sounded funny. ❝ Yo nunca debí contarles a Ona y Claudia sobre ti. ❞ (I should never have told Ona and Claudia about you.) The spanish woman muttered to herself, but you still understood.
❝ And now knowing that you like me was such a turning point. ❞ You explained yourself without letting go of Mapi's hands for a second. ❝ By the way, about that… ❞
❝ No need to explain yourself, I'll understand if you don't reply— ❞
❝ No. I want it. I mean, I think you won my heart after seeing your drawings. ❞ Your typical comedic tone caused few laughs between the two of you.
❝ And also, it really hurt me to get the impression that you hated me. I've been making you a fool all this time. ❞ You continued.
Mapi León paid attention to every word that left your lips. There, you noticed how the player stopped shaking and stuttering, finally taking comfort.
❝ No. I understand, I would have that impression too if I saw all of this. ❞
❝ But I hope we can go back and start over from scratch. ❞ You looked for the solution.
Despite everything, Mapi was very understandable with words, she just needed time to express herself.
Suddenly, León's brown orbs looked to the side, perhaps worried about something. ❝ I think we better go, I need to tell Patri about the boots. ❞
Mapi let go of your hands, and for a moment you didn't like that feeling. The spanish woman's fingerprints grabbed the famous intriguing notebook, putting it back in her bag.
Initially she carried the bag on her shoulder, waiting for you to do the same. Your feet lifted and strained toward your own bag, but immediately returned to Mapi's side.
❝ If you want to start from scratch, come with me. I'll stop at a coffee shop before heading home. ❞ León opened a genuine smile, extending her right hand towards you.
You got the signal, and you did it. Your long fingerprints met Mapi's, intertwining them.
❝ Yes, please. ❞
Maybe you should leave everything in the hands of time and, gingerly, the two of you would transform disagreements into affection.
Gradually, your relationship with Mapi stopped being lack of love and became the fruit of devotion. Walking alongside her was the best opportunity for that.
❝ ¡Quiero un frappuccino, por favor! ❞ (I'd like a frappuccino, please!) You used the spanish words that you knew, asking with a great enthusiasm. After all, from now you would use that dialect a lot more.
Really more.

Powerful.
That was one word you could describe your girlfriend.
Mapi was a loving, kind, gentle person off the pitch however on the pitch she was completely different. She had a strong hold over her opponent, clearing the ball off the line, dirty tackles you name it.
The spanish women was especially protective over her teammates, people she loved you being one of them.
Tonight was Denmark versus Spain, the last game in the group stage to get to the quarter finals of the euros, “You ready mi vida?”
“Sí, i born ready.” You replied looking up from your phone.
Alexia was messaging you checking up on you, Mapi and the team as she was out with a nasty knee injury and couldn’t participate in the tournament.
You and the team piled out of the bus and into the away changing rooms. Jorge announced who would be starting, you and Mapi both made it which you were both pleased about.
You had an eerie feeling in your bones if something bad was going to happen during the match, “Hey hey, Y/N.” Mapi noticed you twisting your rings.
It was a thing she picked up, she knew when ever you had pre match jitters or something was up you would start twisting the rings on your fingers.
“I’m fine, just feel a bit jittery.” You half smiled waking out together to warm up.
“Tell me if it’s anything else okay.” She narrowed her eyebrows at you.
“I will.” You lied, you hated lying to her but you didn’t want to worry her as well.
Once you’d warmed up, the bad feeling washed over you and you felt fine when you were in the tunnel holding the little mascots hand. The national anthems were sung and the pennants were traded, you were ready for kick off.
Ona had sent you a good ball, you were on side dribbling with the ball down the wing. You were just about to shoot but the Danish player purposely jogged backwards so you were offside when the ball went in the back of the net.
“Joder.” You cursed.
You asked for the ball off the Patri which she passed it to you with the right amount of force. You got ready for the cross to Aitana when you felt your legs go out from under you.
Staying down in pain clutching your ankles, you looked at the Danish player who got up from the floor and stomped on your lower back.
Tears streamed from your eyes the feeling of the studs piercing through your skin, blood leaking out. Ona and Leila approached your side, “Y/N, are you okay.”
“No no, i need medic.” You managed to say, Ona nodding signalling for the spain medics.
You could hear Mapi’s distinctive voice shouting and pushing the player that did this to you on the floor repeatedly. You just about saw the referee pull out a yellow card, “Tell her to stop, Mapi stop she get red.”
“Mapi please stop!” You choked out, the medics telling you not to speak.
The staff asked you if the could lift your bulky blood stained shirt to look at the damage. They loaded you onto a stretcher taking you off the pitch, you blew a kiss the stands indicating you were okay which they cheered and clapped for.
You were cleaned and patched up by the medical staff, the stud marks leaving little holes in your lower back.
Half time came around and you heard Mapi outside the medical room, “Is she okay, let me see her.”
“Maps.” You croaked as she opened the door.
“Hey mi chica, how are you doing.” Her face softened at the sight of you.
“Well i know now that i won’t be participating in the rest of the euros.” You sighed.
“She deserved that red then.” Mapi told you.
“Sí but you got yourself a yellow.”
“Lo siento, i couldn’t do nothing about it they purposely hurt the woman i love, i obviously going to bite back.” She explained rubbing her thumb over your knuckles.
“Gracias i appreciate it, i appreciate you but i will be watching you from the sidelines with Alexia now.” You half smiled kissing the back of her hand.
“That is only if we get through.”
“What is score?” You asked.
“0-0 so far.” Mapi said quietly.
“Well you better get out there and kick their Danish asses then.” Both of you laughed, “I’ll see you after the game.”
Mapi pressed a kiss into your temple and then your lips before running out of the medical room back out to the pitch.
“Can i go outside?” You asked one of the medics.
“Only if you stay warm and use your crutches at all times.” The doctor informed.
“Okay, gracias doctor.”
You put your tracksuit on with a little help from Lola and Misa, heading out sitting in the Spanish dugout.
“Hey soldier, how are you.” Esther sat beside you after warming up.
“Let’s say i’ll have a boot on my back for the rest of my life.” You sighed.
“Seriously it was that deep?” She seemed shocked.
“Sí, and i won’t be participating in the rest of the tournament.”
“No Y/N we need you!” Esther pulled a face.
“You’ll be fine, i think Jorge is putting you on now.”
“Okay, thanks.” She got up to go to the sidelines.
The match finished 0-1 to Spain meaning the team would be going to the quarterfinals of the euros. You managed to get out of your seat, hobbling over to Mapi on your crutches, “You did it baby!”
“Te amo mucho.” She carefully hugged you.
“Now let’s celebrate!”

I'm okay - Mapi León
Tumblr media
based off request here
----------
You woke up to soft kisses placed all over your face. "Mi amor, es hora de despertar." My love, it's time to wake up." ("My love, it's time to wake up.")
You let out a groan and roll over. "Es el día del juego, mi amor". ("It's game day, my love.")
Your eyes fluttered open, a soft frown fluttering on your face. "Tengo un mal presentimiento sobre el partido de hoy, mi vida". ("I have a bad feeling about today's game, my life.")
Mapi frowned softly, her hair coming up to move your bed hair from your face. "No pasará nada, no conmigo allí. Me aseguraré de ello". ("Nothing will happen, not with me there. I'll make sure of it.")
She was wrong.
----------
You'd ended up missing the ball entirely, catching her ankles and sending her to the floor in pain.
You'd stood up instantly, putting a hand out to help her out. But when she doesn't get back up, one of her teammates are instantly in your face, screaming at you and pushing you away.
Mapi was one movement away from stepping in, one more move and she'd get the person on you.
"Look, I'm sorry, I know, I didn't mean to!" You tried defending yourself, switching to English in hopes that she'd understand you. "Is she okay? Are you okay?" You asked the girl on the floor, about to move forward one more time when a fist came swinging at your face.
You dropped to the floor, holding your face as it bled, but you were instantly up when you heard an unrecognisable voice.
"¿Cómo te atreves? Ella no fue su intención. No, no me toques. No me importa si me cardas. ¡Mírala! No fue su intención, ¡mira lo que hiciste!" ("How dare you? She didn't mean to. No, don't touch me. I don't care if you card me. Look at her! She didn't mean to, look what you did!")
"Mapi, Mapi, mi amor, mi vida, estoy bien, vamos, estoy bien". ("Mapi, Mapi, my love, my life, I'm fine, come on, I'm fine".) You told her, one hand still holding your definitely broken nose as you stepped in between her and the player who punched you.
"Estás sangrando, eso no está bien". ("You're bleeding, that's not alright.")
You tried to wipe the blood off your hand so you could hope her with both but you just had to cover it back up due to the immense pain, Mapi was seeing red. She had to calm down.
"I'm okay." You switched to your first language. "I'm okay, darling, I'm okay. I'm going to be subbed off, and sorted out. And I'll be okay. It just means you'll have to be careful with my wake up kisses."
"You told me you had a bad feeling." She told you, regretting not just staying in bed. Feeling your body against hers.
"I know. But tomorrow, we have a day off, and we can sleep all day."
----------
You were wrong about that too.
Mapi had never been the most patient person ever, she'd woken up at 6am, and just laid with you, watching your chest go up and down with each breath, God, you were so perfect in her eyes.
She'd done that for an hour before she creeped out of bed and to the kitchen, waking you up with breakfast in bed and soft kisses placed over every inch of your undamaged skin, making sure to leave your broken nose well enough alone.
-------------------
I actually kinda love this- Mapi León is the love of my life, and this is in celebration of her goal today (and the request of course)
As always, my requests are in fact open, feel free to send anything woso and I'll give it my best shot

Collision Madness ( Mapi Leon x Reader )
Tumblr media
Warnings: ⚠️mentions of blood, swearing, slight smut implication, teeny bit of playful grop!ng⚠️
A/N: this is my first ever fic! I hope you enjoy it :)
Prompt: In which Mapi and the reader are secretly dating, and both play for Barcelona. During a game against Real Madrid, the reader gets into a nasty collision with the goal post after being pushed into it during a corner. Mapi gets extremely protective and angry, earning herself a red card.
"Earth to y/n!" The barcelona captain says to her star striker, waving her hand in front of y/n’s face. The canadian stays zoned out, watching closely one of the two doors in the locker room. The one she was staring at intensely being the door leading to the medical examiner’s room.
"Y/n…" a certain tattooed blonde says gently, placing her hand on the younger girls back. This grabs the girls attention, making her neck snap towards Mapi. "Hmm? Shit. I’m sorry, I just- I feel weird." Y/n admits to her team, who share worried glances. "Pre game nerves are normal y/l/n, but it’s just a regular season game. We’ve got this ladies." Alexia says, thinking little of the strikers strange mood. "Yeah. You’re right. Let’s go get 'em, eh?" Y/n says, standing up and trying to shake off her un easy feeling.
Her canadian accent had slipped out unknowingly, the accent Mapi secretly loved so much. "Let’s get them!" Lucy echoed. The girls all cheered and started to leave the changing room. However y/n hung back, and Mapi, who had noticed the lack of her girl beside her, doubled back and walked back into the changing room. "You don’t look too god, mi amor." Mapi said, whispering the pet name too make sure nobody over heard. "That’s not too nice, León. I’ll show you just how good I look when we’re out on that field. And if you’re good, maybe tonight?" Y/n said, fake confidence pouring out of her.
Mapi blushed furiously at the younger girls comment, willing herself to be good. Y/n’s fake courage had managed to trick Mapi, because all the number four defender had on her mind now, was the night to come. While the striker, wearing the number 29, felt as though something was about to go horrifically wrong.
———
"Keira!" Y/n yelled out to the midfielder, finding herself perfectly placed in the box with only a defender and the Real Madrid keeper around her. The lioness looked up, and sent a wonder ball towards her striker. Y/n jumped, hoping to get a head on it, but the defender flicked it away, and out for a corner.
"Maudit!" Y/n sweared in french, the Canadian pouring out of her for the second time today. "No sweat y/n/n," Alexia said, tapping her on the back. "Let’s get this one in!" The captain added. Y/n positioned herself in front of the keeper, doing her job as a striker. Just as she saw Keira kick the ball, she felt a pair of gloved hands on her back, pushing her forward. Hard.
Everything happened quickly, first the sensation of hands on her back, then the feeling of her head smashing against the white goal post. She felt her body hit the ground, then the warm, thick blood, falling down her face, getting caught in her hair, on her eyelashes, clouding the vision in her right eye. It didn’t cloud her hearing though, and what she could hear was loud, angry insults being screamed. Coming from the one and only, María Pilar León.
Y/n felt tears pool in her eyes, hearing the more calming voice of Lucy Bronze, Ingrid Engen, Keira Walsh, and Alexia Putellas in her ear. She couldn’t help it. Her whole life she’s hated blood, and in this moment, it felt as though it was all over her, and all she wanted was her girlfriend, but Mapi was too busy yelling to even check on y/n. "Get it off, get it off." Y/n moaned in pain. "Shh shh, it’s okay. The medics are here." Alexia said gently, seemingly ushering people away from the bloody striker. "I want Maps, tell her to stop or she’ll get sent off." Y/n groaned, feeling the pressure of a towel on her cut.
Alexia looked over, only to see the ref pull out a red, and the look of anger on Mapi’s face turning into realization that she had just got sent off the field instead of going to go see her injured girlfriend who was lying on the floor, tears and blood coating her face. "It’s too late for that…" Ale said, turning her attention back to y/n. "What? God she’s so stupid, Lex." Y/n said angrily, rolling her eyes as more tears streamed out of them. "She just loves you." Alexia said gently. "She’s my girlfriend. She should have come seen me."
It had just slipped out. Mapi and y/n had only been dating for six months, and they weren’t ready to tell anyone. They both agreed on that. But in y/n’s dazed and pained state, the words had slipped out. However Alexia had no time to question the use of y/n’s words because soon enough, the medics had finished to wrap her head in gauze, and the canadian striker was being lifted to her feet by the medical team. Camp Nou roared with applause for their beloved number 29. But y/n had eyes only for the blonde defender that had just disappeared into the tunnel.
Y/n got pats on the back from both her team, and the Real Madrid girls, even getting a few apologies from them, trying to excuse their keeper. But she didn’t care, she just wanted to be with Mapi. Somehow, she wanted to comfort her girlfriend, even though the world was spinning and her jersey was crimson with blood, Mapi León was forever the only thing on y/n y/l/n’s mind.
When the striker was off the field, Jonatan came over to her. "Their keeper is mad, she only got a yellow for that? You could have been knocked out clean." He said, eyeing Misa angrily. "Mhm." Y/n said simply, looking towards the tunnel. Jonatan then adresses the medics. "You’ll do a concussion check?" He asked. The medics responded that yes, they would, but y/n had long forgotten them, and was instead heading towards the tunnel. "Will you guys give me 10 minutes? I need to talk to María" Y/n said. Jonatan and the medics nodded, and the canadian international hurriedly headed towards the changing rooms.
"Maps?" Y/n said tentatively, pushing open the door gently. Surely enough. Mapi was sitting at her cubby, her head between her hands. But at the sight of her girlfriend, the defender jumped to her feet. At first Mapi looked mad, as though she was about to start yelling again. But then her eyes welled up and she rushed towards y/n.
Mapi and y/n’s lips locked. The defenders hands roaming all over her girlfriends body. Suddenly, y/n felt overjoyed that she had asked the medical team for ten minutes alone with Mapi. But as y/n slipped her hands under her girlfriends shirt, moaning slightly at the feeling of her toned abs, Mapi pulled away. "Baby…" Y/n whimpered.
"I want too. A lot. But not right now. I need to apologize." Mapi started saying. "I don’t want you to apologize, I want you to kiss me. Look at me-" Y/n said, pointing to her bandaged forehead. "-Kiss it better?"
"Yes. But no. I should have gone straight to you mi amor. But I got scared, I saw you like that on the grass and it was like an alarm went off in my brain and suddenly I was on defence mode and- and I’m sorry." Mapi ranted. "I don’t want to loose you."
"Hey, hey don’t talk about loosing me. I’m right here." Y/n said, grabbing the spaniards hand and placing it over her heart. "I’m not going anywhere."
Mapi and y/n shared the moment for a couple seconds, before the defenders hand slipped down and squeezed her breast lightly. "Mapi!" Y/n laughed, pressing her body against the blonde and kissing her quickly. "I need to get checked by the medics. Oh and, by the way, i accidentally told Ale you’re my girlfriend. I love you! Bye!"

off limits (2) II a.putellas x león!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
part one
short and angstyy, but there is another part coming! off limits (2) II a.putellas x león!reader
"...alexia?"
"mapi..." you took a step toward your sister, stopping as she held up her hand. "no." she started, shaking her head and crossing her arms. "no, no, no, no!" your sister began to laugh which was almost scarier than her silence, looking in between you and her best friend in disbelief.
"hermana please can we just sit down and talk about-" you started quietly, falling silent as your sister eyes burned angrily into you. "how long?" mapi asked frighteningly calm, directing the question toward you.
"just one time, a drunken mistake." alexia spoke up before you could, her chin held high as your face fell, your sister glancing toward you and clearly seeing the hurt splashed across it putting two and two together.
"do not dare to lie to me right now alexia you're supposed to be my best friend!" mapi spat, moving quickly so she was chest to chest with the taller girl who avoided meeting her eyes. "so how long?" your sister asked again this time to alexia, jaw clenched and fists balled.
"almost eight months." you answered when she didn't, your sisters head whipping toward you now as you shrunk under her withering glare. "almost a year. you have both kept this from me for nearly a year?" mapi yelled in disbelief, shoving alexia whose head now hung low, refusing to say another word.
"that's my baby sister putellas! you've been sleeping with her for eight months behind my back?" mapi saw red as she shoved her best friend who stumbled back but remained silent.
"you're supposed to look out for her not take advantage of her! do you have nothing to say to me alexia? nothing?" mapi was shouting now, shoving the girl angrily with every word, who was still refusing to look her in the eyes.
"maría leave her be! she didn't at all take advantage of me. i'm an adult and i can date whoever i want and i do not need your permission." you stepped in, unable to watch your girlfriend take the majority of your sisters wrath anymore.
"an adult?" the older girl rounded on you now with a mocking pout, getting right up in your face as your back hit the wall behind you.
"she's your captain and my best friend hermana! how could you do this to me for so long?" your sister spat, shoving you now. "i didn't do anything to you maría! you're overreacting." you tried your best to reason with her as she merely scoffed at your words.
the two of you had argued in the past, in fact you spent a lot of your childhood at one anothers throats, but as you grew older things settled, you'd not seen her this angry with you for years.
"what else have you been keeping from me huh? i thought we told each other everything!" she yelled making you wince from the close proximity.
"nothing, you know that. hermana please can we just sit down and talk about-" your back thumped harshly into the wall as she pushed you harder, shaking her head wordlessly as the words dried up in your mouth.
as you glanced over her shoulder your face fell when alexias eyes remained trained to the floor, you'd hope she might have stepped in but it seemed her own guilt had taken priority.
"i didn't tell you because i knew you would react like this. you always do maría you are so fucking over protective, you smother me and stick your nose in all my business all the time!" you shoved her back now as she barely moved, only laughing at your words.
"yeah? well you're a selfish little girl who knows nothing. alexia doesn't care about you! and i can't even look at you right now. mierda how could you be so stupid!" the tattooed spaniard spat, shaking her head, shoving you once more before moving away and moving her glare toward alexia.
"you stay away from her i mean it. i treat you like family and you do this to me? we're done alexia, for good. and both of you? done!" your sister looked as if she had more to say, but with a huff and a shake of her head she turned and stormed toward the door, slamming it closed behind her, leaving a thick and uncomfortable silence lingering around your apartment.
"ale." you choked out, tears welling up in your eyes as you made a beeline for your girlfriend, desperately seeking some sort of comfort from the older girl.
but her hand shot out to stop you, causing you to grunt quietly as you ran into it, trying and failing to wrap yourself around her in a hug.
"you heard her, we're done." the blonde couldn't even look at you as she forced out her words, unable to watch the heartbreak she knew would be present in your soft features.
"alexia..." you whispered out with a hurt frown, certain you'd heard her wrong as she dropped her arm, turning and starting to collect her things where they were scattered around your room.
"baby please can we just talk about this?" you grabbed her arm again as she continued to shove her things into a bag, your heart cracking more with each drawer she opened, knowing where exactly all of her possessions were located throughout your apartment.
"there's nothing to talk about bonita, your sisters right." alexia murmured, gently pulling your hand off her bicep, sparing a glance toward you but she looked away as if she'd been burned, her chest tightening as she watched the tears which threatened to spill down your cheeks.
"mapi's just hurt and she's angry and she lashed out, she didn't mean what she said. you're her best friend, she loves you." you moved your body to block your door frame, reaching out for her again. "please don't do this." you begged, your voice cracking as your hands tightly gripped at her shirt.
"amor i-" she started, her hands settling on top of yours with a pained sigh. "she may be angry but she is right. i'm the captain and i need there to be no issues with my girls if we expect to play well and win, this will only ever cause issues, we both know that. this was a mistake." and with that she pulled your hands away, gently stepping around you as she landed the final blow, your body slumping into the door frame in disbelief.
as you heard her start to open your front door your body suddenly flooded with a wave of white hot anger and you quickly turned, your fists balled by your sides.
"eight months alexia. did all of it mean nothing to you?" you growled, desperately fighting to hold back a sob, only met with silence and her back faced toward you.
"i really am sorry it has to end like this amor, but you'll realise i'm right with time." her words only angered you further as you saw red, an ocean of emotions crashing down on you all at once and it left your head spinning.
"if you do this, if you leave...i will never ever speak to you again alexia. never!" you threatened her with what you knew were empty words but you had to try.
alexia's hand lingered on the door handle, forehead pressed against the wood, tears welling up in her own eyes as she heard how broken you were, how broken she was making you.
"i really hope that isn't true bonita. i'm sorry, i have to go." unable to stand the suffocating tension of her own emotions she quickly opened the door, stepping out and closing it behind her, almost running to her car as you stood still.
you weren't sure how long you stayed there, staring at the door, praying it to open again and the girl you loved would return. her strong arms would wrap around you and she would hold you, protecting you from the world and its cruelties with everything she had in her.
but the door didn't open, and the girl you loved had left you without so much as a hug goodbye.

Used to Be || Mapi León x Ingrid Engen x Reader
Part 2 || Part 3
Summary: You used to be in love with Mapi Leon. Maybe you still are, but now Mapi has a girlfriend... who is very, very pretty. Playing against Barcelona brings up old feelings that you're going to have to bury as you're about to transfer to Barcelona Femení.
Warnings: Maybe a swear word, brief mention of smut, it's a little bit angsty, unedited writing (done at 4am)
Word Count: 4.9k words
A/N: Hi lovelies-- I'm working on a request atm, but this came up and I got carried away. It may not make any sense and may be taken down, but could also be five parts... please let me know what you think :)
Tumblr media
The crowd roared as the players of Real Madrid and Barcelona Femení made their way onto the field to find their positions for kickoff. The noise within Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano was absolutely cacophonous, and downright overwhelming to anyone who wasn’t used to it.
As you made your way to your position, you couldn’t help but glance up. Your eyes navigated across the stands, catching onto numerous waving flags, banners, and other collectibles and trinkets which represented either team. You also saw people wearing your jersey, which never failed to put a smile on your face, your chest alight with pride.
The smile, however, disappeared as you caught sight of someone you’d expected to see but… not so soon. Before you knew it, your thoughts were caught in those of the past. Their familiar figure sent so many memories zipping wildly through your brain that, like the noise, it was nearly overwhelming.
You remembered sharing your pre-match rituals with them, sharing the same breakfast together, and a few kisses before the two of you would set off to your match. It was your routine together, the one which made you feel confident and safe before a match.
When the two of you had separated, you also remembered how you’d struggled to find a new routine. Your entire life had been disrupted when you’d broken up with your girlfriend of two years in María Pilar León. Even now, close to seven years later, you still felt like a small piece was missing from your life… had been carved out of your chest and never quite sewed back together.
Your chest burned, and you quickly turned away from the stands in favor of going through your pre-kickoff ritual. You side-stepped to your position, working at your hips and calves as you waited for everyone else to get ready.
You performed three high jumps, making sure to tuck your knees up into your chest– or as high as they could go. As you went through your usual movements, your nerves seemed to meld away with the familiarity of the routine, and with it– the thoughts of a certain Barcelona player watching from the stands.
You’d been prepared to see Mapi, had seen her many times since you’d broken up– through matches played against each other at the international level, and then through matches played against each other at the club level. You’d seen pictures of her, too, with her partner, Ingrid Engen. Each time you saw Mapi, or Ingrid, you felt that same familiar burn in your chest.
Sometimes, that burning would become so much more, almost traveling up your throat and into your eyes, making you feel like you were choking on thoughts and memories of what used to be and what could have been. You felt like you could cry, years later, which was stupid. You’d been the one to break up with Mapi, not the other way around. You thought that you had no right to feel the way that you did, especially since it seemed that Mapi had been able to move on, while you were still stuck in the past.
Someone nudged you, and you almost startled at the contact. One of your Real Madrid teammates, Hayley Raso, placed a hand on your shoulder. Her eyes held a certain amount of concern, almost silently asking you if you were alright.
You managed to give her a small nod, and Raso rubbed up the bare skin of your arm once and then twice before pulling away. It was a comforting gesture, one that reminded you that you weren’t alone in this match. You and Mapi hadn’t been mainstream news when you’d been together– sure, there were a few rumors which had floated around the internet back in the day. However, they’d all been pushed far from the spotlight.
Few people knew that you’d actually dated, and one of those included your teammates Raso and Misa Rodríguez. Throughout your years at Real, Misa had become a close friend of yours. In the deep hours of a night spent watching old football film and hyper analyzing your own team, you’d confided in the goalkeeper. She’d sensed that you were nervous about facing a certain Barcelona team within the next week and had asked you about it, and you’d told her– albeit nervously, as you were aware that they were international teammates. As far as you knew, Misa had kept your secret safely.
Raso was an entirely different story, having taken you home when you were drunk after a win. You’d apparently let slip that you’d missed Mapi and cried into Raso’s arms. Thankfully, the Australian woman hadn’t considered you to be as pathetic as you’d felt, and you’d told her about it all.
The fact that two of your teammates knew about your past with Mapi made you feel better about facing the team. It wasn’t as if you needed a shoulder to cry on– you were over it, really… but things still felt tense between you and Mapi. The two of you had never spoken after you’d broken up, save for the occasional quick congratulatory phrase at the end of a well-fought match.
It was weird, almost– the way someone could go from the best and brightest thing in your life to a stranger.
As Hayley made her way back to her position, you rocked back and forth from your heels to your toes. You allowed yourself to take some calming breaths, closing your eyes and letting the loud crowd fade into the background as you tried to refocus once again.
As the ref blew their whistle, you rocked forward and opened your eyes, nearly missing the ball which had already been kicked your way. You strode forward a few steps before being dispossessed, the ball being cleared to the other side of the field before you had a chance to try to win it back. As you glanced up, you were nearly breathless as you realized just who had so quickly dispossessed you.
Ingrid Engen was taller in person. And prettier.
You couldn’t fault Mapi for being with her, not at all. From her long black hair which had been pulled back into an immaculate braid, to her light colored eyes– from the angle you were at, you couldn’t tell if they were green or blue, but you knew that they were gorgeous. You wondered, briefly, if Mapi ever got lost in them like you were right now-
A call of your name had you spinning, nearly stumbling over your own feet. You saw Hayley receiving the ball from another of your teammates, attempting to pass the football over to you. A Barcelona midfielder intercepted the pass, though, and sent it back over to the other side.
You didn’t have to look at Hayley to know what her eyes were saying– get your head in the game!
The next time you received the ball, you were more prepared. As Ingrid came forward to challenge you, you tipped the ball behind yourself and turned away so that your back was to Ingrid. Then, you were dashing forward once again, eyes set upward towards the Barcelona goal and the only person who now stood in your way-
Your body was flying forward before you could even attempt to kick the ball. Engen had caught up, having been at your hip when you’d made to run away. She’d slide her legs in front of yours, catching the ball and sending it out for a corner kick. She’d also caught a piece of you, judging from the way that you’d sprawled out on your face.
You rolled over slowly, tucking your knees under you as you started to climb to your feet. A hand was held out to you, and you took it without checking who was offering it. As they helped pull you to your feet, you took in their blue and red jersey, which was very unlike your white one.
Ingrid Engen gently patted your back, wiping some grass from your shoulder. Briefly, you wondered if her hands were this soft when she touched Mapi, too. They were large, and comforting, and warm against your skin– a harsh contrast to the breeze which had picked up as the game continued on.
You wondered if Mapi touched her like she’d used to touch you, and if Ingrid touched Mapi as she was touching you at that moment. You knew that you had no right to think those thoughts, but your brain prattled on and on as if morales had gone out the window as soon as you’d set eyes on the defender in the crowd.
Briefly, you remembered the first time you’d ever seen Mapi. It had been on your first day at Atletico Madrid in 2014, newly arrived from England. You didn’t know a lick of Spanish and had gotten lost on your way to the locker rooms.
As you’d wandered aimlessly around the building, you’d quite literally run into some girl with blonde hair and pretty brown eyes.
“Hola?” The girl had looked at you questioningly, confused by the way you stared wordlessly at her. You couldn’t help but admire the other girl, as if running straight into her wasn’t embarrassing enough. She was gorgeous, simply put, and you didn’t know whether you wanted to be her or… something else.
“Hi– Hola?” You’d finally managed to get out. Your accent was thick, the Spanish word unfamiliar on your tongue. A sudden shyness had overcome you, the feeling akin to feeling like a fish out of water.
Mapi didn’t know a lick of English, and so the two of you had stared at each other awkwardly, waiting for the other to extend an olive branch of sorts. Finally, Mapi pointed to the Atletico badge on her chest.
“Aqui. Football?” Mapi mouthed the two words slowly, unsure how much you’d manage to understand. You felt stupid– what kind of person came to a Spanish football team without knowing how to speak Spanish? Still, you managed to catch what Mapi was saying and nodded quickly, almost eagerly.
“Yes1 Madrid!” You said, pointing to your own chest despite the fact that it didn’t have a badge on the shirt you were wearing. Thinking quickly, you attempted to mime kicking a football, to which Mapi pretended to kick the ball back to you, complete with over dramatic sound effects that put you at ease as you laughed at the other’s theatrics.
“Ok,” Mapi said, before making a “come on” gesture with her hand, one which was universal in most- if not all, languages. You followed the other, trying to at least introduce yourself. Mapi turned towards you as you said your name, pointing at yourself.
“Es hermosa. Soy Mapi.” Mapi responded. You only caught a little bit, enough to know that her name was Mapi. You stored that information in your brain before catching a hold of the other girls’ wrist. She turned towards you, momentarily stopping and giving you yet another questioning look.
To this, you held out your hand. As Mapi went to clap her own against it in a high five.
“Nice to meet you!” You said, and Mapi smiled a little bit, nodding.
“Mucho gusto-”
You blinked the rest of that memory away, refocusing on Ingrid. You didn’t bother thanking her, instead simply walking away before you did something that you knew you’d regret. The way in which Ingrid looked at you, brushing the grass off of you apologetically, had your stomach churning in a way that reminded you of how you felt before an important match. Except now, you didn’t think that sidestepping and jumping a few times would help dispel that feeling.
As you set up for the corner, you tried to ignore the way that Engen followed you, her eyes making sure you didn’t stray too far away so that she could mark you. You’d set up between two of your teammates, and as the ball was kicked in you ran forward, jumping and tapping your head up against the ball. You thrust your neck to the side, trying arduously to direct the ball into the net, but Cata Coll hopped up and grabbed the ball between her two gloved hands.
You rubbed the spot on your head that had hit the ball as you sprinted further out into the field as the ball was kicked to one of Barcelona’s center backs. Throughout the game, Ingrid continued to mark you at each corner, staying close to you. She’d almost become your shadow, and it was becoming extremely hard for you to concentrate when thoughts of how frustrated you were with Ingrid soon turned to how hot the Norwegian was as she anticipated your every move, or when she went head to head with you and wasn’t afraid to make a challenge. Thoughts like those inevitably led to Mapi, who you knew was in the stands, eyes on her girlfriend who was guarding her ex-girlfriend.
Ex-girlfriend. The term soured in your mind, one which you rarely had to actually apply to yourself– you remembered when you’d broken up with Mapi.
You’d managed to catch a few days off at Arsenal, and had flown to Spain. You’d put this off for far too long now, and you were emotionally exhausted. So much had happened in your life since you’d transferred from Atletico Madrid to Arsenal, and since your girlfriend of two years, Mapi, had transferred to Barcelona.
The two of you had tried to make the distance work. At first, you’d manage to call each other at least twice a week, and visit each other in person at least once a month, and sometimes more. You’d made an effort to go to Mapi’s games, and Mapi had made an effort to attend yours or, at the very least, watch them on television.
After six months at Arsenal and six months of being apart, it had been almost four months since you’d seen the Spanish woman. You’d spoken to her a week ago, and had tried to call her a few times to let her know that you were coming to Spain, but your calls had gone unanswered.
You were upset, of course, feeling like you were being ignored. However, a larger part of you knew the truth– neither of you had time for the other at this point in your busy careers. The thought was painful, especially the first time that you’d realized it. The fact had been on your mind for the last few months, clutching and squeezing painfully around your chest in the darkest hours of the night, like a python around its prey.
As you and Mapi had gone on and on, you couldn’t keep the feeling at bay any longer. You felt like you were dragging your relationship on for the sake of being afraid to end it. You loved Mapi, yes, but you felt like you were… baggage, like another box to check at the end of the day.
“Call your girlfriend” right next to “Feed the Cat” and “Do the Dishes”.
You knew that that was how you felt about Mapi, at least. As if that weren’t enough, you felt ashamed about your relationship.
When you’d been in Barcelona, you hadn’t had to worry about what your parents would think about you dating a woman. Sure, you’d known that they would disapprove, as they’d always spoken negatively about “those types of people”. However, being in another country helped you keep Mapi as your secret. This secret was much harder to keep now that you were back under your parents’ clutches.
Mapi knew how your parents felt, which weighed heavily on your mind as well. You felt like it was too much for the girl, that you were too much for the girl. You didn’t want to speak to Mapi about it, for fear that the girl would dismiss her own feelings in favor of simply staying with you.
So, you’d made the decision alone.
You’d come to Mapi’s doorstep, a place that you’d only been once or twice since she’d moved there. Knocking a few times, you were greeted by your girlfriend, who looked confused by your appearance.
You’d done it then, giving Mapi a parting hug before you’d walked right back down her stairs. You had felt her gaze on your back, and had had to hold back your tears as you’d walked away and left the girl you loved behind.
You’d convinced yourself that it was for the better, had repeated that mantra as you’d paced away from her house. You’d essentially screamed it, in fact, when you’d stood in the mirror of the sketchy hotel room you’d rented for the night.
You’d wanted to go back to Mapi so badly, to cry into her arms and let her wrap her arms around you. You wanted her to tell her that it was okay, and that everything would be okay. You wanted her to tell you that the two of you could and would work, that you would try harder to talk and to visit and to love each other.
But you’d given up the right to ask for Mapi’s comfort the second you’d broken up with her. The shattered, dazed look in her pretty brown eyes had cut into you like a dagger, and served to haunt you for the next year whenever you thought of the girl.
You feel a pair of hands on your shoulders, their touch somewhat familiar from how often you’d felt them throughout the match. By now, your team was trailing Barcelona 1-3, which certainly didn’t help your quickly-souring mood.
From behind you, you heard Ingrid speak. Her voice was calm and collected, despite having played nearly 80 minutes of football. It was deeper than you’d expected too– not that it was super deep, it was just… it was nice, you mentally admitted to yourself. Calming and soothing like her touch, almost like Mapi’s but more relaxing and cool where Mapi’s was comforting and warm.
As if you weren’t torturing yourself enough, you wondered if Ingrid had used those hands and arms to comfort Mapi. You wondered if Mapi had run to Ingrid when you’d broken up with her, had been hugged and held in the way that you had so badly yearned for when you’d left her. Realistically, you knew that Ingrid hadn’t even known Mapi then, and so your thoughts trailed further.
“-okay…?”
“Huh?” You mumbled, glancing back towards Engen whilst trying to keep your eyes downfield.
“I asked, are you okay?” Ingrid repeated.
“Yes. Stop touching me.” You couldn’t help it, your tone biting and harsh. Immediately, Ingrid’s hands fell from your shoulders. Internally, you screamed for her touch again– it had been a very, very long time since you’d allowed yourself to be touched or held, and you supposed you were probably touch-starved at this point. Even still, you knew that you had no right to seek comfort in your ex-girlfriends’ current girlfriend, no matter how badly you yearned for it.
Maybe, once you moved from Real Madrid to Barcelona, you could get a cat. You’d heard that they could give good hugs.
Ingrid didn’t say anything, but throughout the match she kept her hands off of you. That is, until one of the last minutes in injury time. You’re surprised that you’re still in the match, given how badly your team is losing and that you’ve not done much for most of the match.
Ingrid had done well to silence any attempts or moves you’d made, and between the players in midfield and the center backs, you’d been muffled incredibly well throughout the match.
You knew that you had nothing left to lose by this point, and so as one of your midfielders received the ball, you called out for it and began your run.
The pass was gorgeous, rolling up through your feet and right in front of you. Indrid in front of you began to backpedal, twisting her hips so that she could gain enough momentum to keep up with your run while keeping her eyes on you.
You attempted to flick the ball ahead of her as you caught up to the Norwegian, just as Ingrid stuck out her foot. With the ball ahead of you, Ingrid clipped the side of your foot with her own instead, and you cried out in pain as you were sent sprawling once more.
It was a clear foul, and pain radiated throughout your ankle as you rolled onto your back. You didn’t think that it was too serious of an injury, but it still smarted and made its presence known. You didn’t expect for Ingrid to crouch down next to you, hand hovering over your shoulder as she went to pat your back but seemed to remember your earlier rudeness.
“Are you okay?” Ingrid asked, and you turned to glare at her.
“No, the fuck was that about, Engen. You could have broken my ankle.” Your words, like earlier, were harsh and immature. They were flat and scathing, meant to harm and dig deep into Ingrid’s chest.
A part of you hoped she’d fight back and give you a taste of her own scathing words as you’d been doing to her the entire game. Instead, she took a deep breath and shook her head.
“I certainly did not mean to do so, are you alright?” She asked again. Her words were calm and cool, just like her touch, serving almost like ice water to the flaming hot rage you felt.
You froze, before nodding slowly. You’d anticipated a verbal fight, had hoped for one, but Ingrid had given you nothing to work with. As you agreed, she held out her hand for you to take once again, and you stared at it for a moment. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw your teammates making their ways over and your captain talking to the ref, attempting to appeal for what you figured was a yellow card or a penalty kick.
You hesitated, only for a moment. The girl in front of you was an anomaly and you couldn’t, for the life of you, understand her.
It was attractive. The way that she defended was attractive, and the way that she kept a calm and level head was doubly as attractive. You battled the thoughts away as soon as they arrived, but they were already in your mind, spreading through your thoughts like the plague as you reached out and took the girls’ hand, allowing her to pull you to your feet once more.
She filled your thoughts for the rest of the game, right up until the referee whistled three times to signal the end of the match. The Barcelona players went to celebrate while you trekked over to your own teammates.
Some of them gave you comments about how good you performed, which you were surprised about. You hadn’t done much for most of the match, but you supposed that you’d done well against defenders of Ingrid’s caliber and had given a few good attempts on goal.
You praised each of your teammates in turn as well, before someone had wrapped their arms around your middle and lifted you up from behind.
“Muy bien chica bonita!” You heard someone call out, and you were familiar with them and the way they held you and spoke. You giggled.
“Gracias Misa.” You said, waiting for her to plop you back down to the ground before giving her a quick fist bump. The girl looked you up and down, as though to make sure you weren’t hurt.
“You are ok?” Misa asked, voice rising towards the end of the statement to make it into a question. You nodded.
“Sí. Estoy bien.” You responded, nodding to affirm your own statement. Misa seemed satisfied for the moment, reaching out to pat your back before she was off to converse with more of your teammates. You knew that the nosy girl would be asking for details about what had been going on with you and Ingrid, but for now the girl would just have to wonder.
As you turned away from the Real Madrid goalkeeper, you were met with the sight of Mapi and Ingrid. The two were talking quietly with each other, and you were stunned by the image of them both together. Ingrid now wore a puffy Barcelona team jacket, reminding you of the fact that you were cold.
Mapi wore a pair of black trousers with a pair of casual tennis shoes and a white jacket. It was a simple outfit, but you couldn’t help but think the girl looked absolutely gorgeous. Your heart throbbed, unable to keep the thoughts of both girls out of your mind.
You were just about to turn your back on them, too, when Ingrid caught your eye and gestured with her hand for you to come over to them. You froze, hesitant to do as she was motioning for you to do, but slowly made your way over anyway.
Mapi looked at you curiously. Once upon a time, you would have been able to read her facial expressions like a book. Now, however, you were unable to tell what she was feeling. She appeared guarded, but her lips and eyes, which were normally so expressive, gave nothing away.
Unlike her partner, Ingrid smiled warmly at you. It was the kind of smile that you couldn’t help but smile back at, and Ingrid stuck her hand out for you to take and shake.
“Congratulations, you played really well.” You were the first to speak, directing your sentence towards Ingrid.
Ingrid nodded, “You played well too.”
“Thank you…” Your voice trailed off as you were at a loss for what to say. Your mind was at odds with itself, as a part of you wanted to ask how Mapi was doing, while another part wanted to intertwine your fingers with Ingrid’s and never let go. You were so confused and conflicted, your heart and mind working overtime as you struggled to figure out where to go from there.
Ingrid seemed to realize that you were struggling and made up for it.
“I’m excited to play with you and not against you!” She said, and you swallowed nervously, your smile tentative, now.
You’d nearly forgotten about that.
You were set to join Barcelona within the week, having played your last game with Real Madrid. You were sad to see it go, but you were beyond excited to join the team of your childhood dreams.
Even still, you were terrified of joining the team which housed your ex-girlfriend and her current relationship, and your eyes strayed from Ingrid to Mapi and back again at the thought.
“I’m excited too-” You said pathetically, and you were saved from saying any more as you heard someone from your own team call your name. You gestured awkwardly behind you, towards the voice, and began to walk backwards as you waved at the two. “I’ll see you later!”
You blushed as you turned away, mentally chastising yourself for the lame way you’d managed to say goodbye.
-----
Later that day, as you spent one of your last nights in the apartment you’d lived in for four years since joining Real Madrid, you couldn’t help but allow your thoughts to stray back to Ingrid and Mapi.
You wondered what they were doing– were they holding each other and watching a movie, like you and Mapi used to do after a match when you’d used to play together? Or, perhaps, they were out dancing with each other, celebrating the win against their rivals at a club somewhere.
A part of your mind fought to imagine the sight of the two grinding up against each other, and while you were quick to turn away from the thought, you could still imagine Ingrid’s large hand cupping Mapi’s hip and directing her movements as Ingrid whispered in her ear-
What was happening to you?
You swallowed nervously, sitting down on your couch. Your elbows sat propped on your knees as you gazed straight ahead at the wall,
You were, simply said, conflicted.
The way you had felt today had been a feeling that you’d buried a long time ago, one that had been reserved for Mapi and nobody else. However, the way Ingrid had looked at you and had talked at you, and the way she’d calmly patted you or helped you– the feelings had resurfaced.
You tried not to think about what that meant. You knew what it meant, and you knew that you couldn’t feel that way– not now and not ever.
If you wanted to succeed at Barcelona and to keep your heart safe, you had to bury these feelings once more.
And so you did– mentally, you threw those thoughts into a cage and locked them up tight. You promised yourself that you would stop feeling like this towards your ex-girlfriend and her current girlfriend. No matter what, you would stop.
It was a promise you made to yourself.
A promise that you knew you would break.

Potato Prank
Alexia x reader (blurb)
warnings: none
~~~
“Oni, catch” you shouted as you jumped on her back.
“Get off me, idiota,” she laughed at you.
“I’m good.”
She shrugged, then grabbed onto your legs, holding you up as you leaned around and kissed her cheek.
“Hey, get off my girlfriend, you have your own,” Lucy said, walking over with a pout and trying to playfully push you off.
“Don’t be salty just because your girlfriend loves me more,” you told her as you stuck your tongue out at her. “Besides, my girlfriend is annoyed with me right now anyway, and I’m trying to hide from her.”
“What did you do this time?”
“I replaced her bar of soap this morning with a raw potato. It was absolutely hilarious, but now she wants me to run laps.”
“It was not that hilarious, y/n. You’re going to be laughing about your prank tonight from the couch.”
“Oh hi Ale, mi amor, I love you so much. I didn’t see you walk over here.”
“I am not getting in the middle of this,” Ona said, dropping you in front of her captain and going over to continue staring at her own girlfriend with her lovesick puppy eyes.
“Coward,” you shouted after her.
Alexia was glaring at you with her eyes narrowed.
“I’m really sorry, amor. It was just a harmless prank. Mapi saw it on TikTok and sent it to me, telling me to try it out on you, and if I did it successfully, she was going to buy me that new Xbox game I want,” you rushed out, trying to get your girlfriend to forgive you.
“You’re telling the truth, bebé?” She asked. You nodded your head.
“Okay, I forgive you, amor. Just don’t do it again,” she said, smiling again. She leaned down and pulled you into a quick kiss, knowing the two of you were still in front of your teammates.
“MARÍA PILAR LEÓN CEBRIÁN!” Alexia shouted after she released you from the hug. You started laughing as Mapi realized she had nowhere to run and instead hid behind Ingrid as Alexia stomped over towards her, looking ready to kill her.
now playing: Don't Tell My Mom
< track 3 || track 5 >
Tumblr media
》 Alexia Putellas x Reader (past), María León x Reader (platonic), Leah Williamson x Reader (platonic)
》 words count: +1.5k
》 what you don't know won't hurt you, oh / Mama, I'll lie, just for you
As soon as your phone lights up with a Facetime call, you know.
No warning message, no text just to make sure you’re free to talk. A cold Facetime request from María, one of your best friends but definitely someone who means trouble if calling like that.
Launching yourself on your sofa unceremoniously, you accept the call and your fate as Mapi’s grin appears on your broken screen. How can she be so smug even miles away goes beyond you.
“Who died?”
Not the most warm way to start a conversation.
“Hola a ti también, nena” (Hello to you too)
“You look awful”
She looks amazing, she’s practically glowing and you’re happy for her.
Also, you’re happy for yourself too. It’s a relief this is not the scolding call you’ve been waiting for quite some time. It’s coming, you can feel it, but Ingrid enters the frame and you immediately know this is good news.
“Tienes que ser buena conmigo” (You should be nicer to me)
Mapi really isn’t the type to tiptoe around something so you don’t get why she didn’t start this conversation by screaming the news. Or making the journey and knocking on your door directly.
You let her be, she probably wants to enjoy it.
“Why should I? I moved to another country just to avoid it”
“Nena”, she pauses and her smile dims for a moment.
She knows English better than she lets everyone believe, so she gets the quip - or your attempt to joke about it. You’re not sure if it’s because of what you said or something else entirely, the two of you have yet to talk about the reason why you’re single and in another country.
Your transfer was eventful, to say at least. The faded blonde didn’t handle it very well, having taken you under her wing when you first moved from a mid-table club in your home country to Barcelona Femení - after a couple of years on a loan in different leagues too.
María’s the one who welcomed you in the locker room with rapid words and contagious enthusiasm. She kept talking with you in Spanish, even if you needed an entire year to be able to hold a simple conversation in your third language, but she’s someone you relied on since the very beginning.
María’s also the first one to realise something was growing between you and Alexia, the first - and the loudest - to cheer when you mindlessly kissed in front of the team mid night out, the first one to give you both a shovel talk.
Sometimes it’s way too easy to forget how many people you can hurt with a decision that’s just your own to make.
You feel the need to take the conversation back on track.
“When is the wedding?”
“¿Quién te lo dijo?!” (Who told you?!)
“Your stupid face”, thankfully the Spaniard gets her brightness back at your words, “And I can see that huge rock even from here!”
Ingrid is matching a beaming smile, moving her hand closer to the camera and you can’t hold back your own joy. They truly deserve the devotion and support they share with one another. If you have to be happy for someone else’s love, you’re glad it’s for them.
And that ring is impressive.
The memory of a beautiful ring hidden in a shoe box in the back of a closet makes you shiver. Is it still there or she got rid of it as first thing after dropping you off at the airport? Does Mapi know about it?
“Show off, that’s worth my value”
“Tonterías!, no eres tan buena” (Bullshit, you’re not even that good!)
“You are, she’s just too proud to admit it”, at Ingrid’s first words you immediately remember why lately she’s the one you like the most of the two.
“Haz la maleta y no quiero excusas, volverás aquí” (Pack you beg and no excuses, you’re coming back here)
Mapi’s witty remark is not missed, she saw you growing up and developing your very own unhealthy coping mechanism. Maybe you have a tendency to avoid confrontation, what about that? She goes for any adrenalin rush activity available when in denial so she’s not in the position to judge.
You shift uncomfortably under their gazes, sitting upright but hitting the back of the sofa with your head.
You may be in a different country and there may be a screen between you and the pair, but María is still like a big sister to you and the other girl is basically the only reason you’re still sane and survived throughout your friendship with the Spaniard.
However, you can’t let them know how broken you are, not when you regret nothing that led to this.
“Why not Norway?”, worth a shot.
“We’re basically going to celebrate in any corner of the world, I don’t think you can miss this”
“Then I can be anywhere else, Ingrid”
“Mapi’s family is gonna be here”, and you’re her family too it’s what she’s too considerate to say aloud but you all hear anyway.
“I don’t think is a good idea, no one want me there”
“That’s not true”
“Nena, por favor!”
The silence is deafening, when you find the gut to look at your friends it’s easy to remember the love, the support, and respect that bond your relationships.
A transfer to another country, all the attempts to hide from the consequences of your own choices, the hearts broken. None of those things are really able to cut those kinds of connections.
“I’m happy for you two”, you say with the biggest and most sincere smile in a while.
Mapi accepts your decision to keep the conversation light, focusing on this happy and long awaited news.
She’s glowing and you really are happy for her, for them. The desire to celebrate their love, to be there when they will share such pure joy with all the people they care about, sweeps away your fears of being confronted by the human form of the consequences of your own choices.
When the call ends, the usual weight you feel between your ribs doesn’t make your breathing heavier and the familiar bitter taste of guilt doesn’t pervade your mouth.
You book a ticket to Barcelona before it all comes back to you.
~
“Mapi and Ingrid are getting married”
“It’s a plague!”
Leah is unlacing her boots, the two of you the last ones in the changing room after an additional training session the blonde insisted you needed.
You’re playing in a slightly different position here, but you feel like those extra hours are more for her sake than your own, scared that you will find a way to avoid your new teammates if not involved in any possible activity.
You indulge her, you’re used to demanding and perfectionist captains after all.
“I have to go back to Barcelona”
“I bet, she’s gonna drag you there personally otherwise”
“María is not that―”
“I’m talking about Engen”, she smirks and she is right, Ingrid is way more effective in her convincing methods.
Still sitting on the bench in your training gear, you let her understand you’re not ready to leave yet. Not the room nor the conversation.
“What’s the problem, trotter?”
She managed to give you the worst nickname possible, making fun both of your way to run on the pitch and the fact you spent the past ten years in five different countries - it’s probably also a quip about the circumstances that bring you here but you give her the benefit of the doubt.
“No problem at all, I’m happy for them”
“They’re really cute”
“They are”, you miss them.
You miss the familiar embrace and the easy banter you share with María, you miss the warm support and the nights out with Ingrid, you miss the silence and the comforting methods Keira always found to take your homesickness away, you miss the funny and the cheerful attitude you wrap yourself around with Jana, Claudia and Ona. You miss them all.
You miss Alexia.
You miss how she always finds time to walk her dog out, doesn’t matter the weather or her busy schedule. You miss the subtle way she turns the radio’ volume up when a song she knows you like is on, and the not-so-subtle way she pretends to hate them all just to sing with you on the first chorus. You miss her body fitting perfectly all over your life, when moving in your house like it’s built around her, or when she’s ideally positioned on the pitch to receive your pass, or even when her hands find yours despite everything and everywhere you are.
You miss Alexia but you don’t deserve to grieve something you killed yourself.
“Do you need a pep talk from Kim?”
“Don’t you dare!”
Last time Leah called on your team captain to put up with your somber mood, you ended on the bench for two games yet sent her a nice bouquet as an apology - and as a thanks for the help.
“Look, you can’t hide from her forever”
“I can definitely try”
The smile she directs to you is both amused and bushed.
“I just don’t think our closest friend’s wedding is the best occasion to meet her for the first time after… well, after everything”, you admit while repeatedly hitting the changing room’s wall with the back of your head.
“Maybe not, maybe we will have to face them in the next Champion League’s draw”
She jinxed it.
María León x Ingrid Engen x Reader [SMUT!]
the cutest duo am i right
word count : 2.6k
warnings : fluffy smut, bon appetit.
“Ready, mi amor?”
“Si, just let me get my bag.”
Mapi stood at the door with her kitbag, grabbing her keys when you walked up to her with your medical bag. You had just been announced as the head of the medical team for Barcelona Femeni and it was your first day. Your girlfriends recommended you to the board when you were helping Alexia with her ACL; the board decided to use your expertise on the team upon her recommendation and you got the job, moving on from your private practice.
You were a little nervous about the position; the team was made up of elite athletes that relied on you to keep them healthy and injury-free to be able to do their jobs the best they can. You had met them all, but since you’ve never cared for them except for Alexia, Mapi and Ingrid so you were scared that you would mess up and cost the team.
“I’m ready.” You tell her, smiling up at your girlfriend.
“The barça crest looks good on you.” She tells you proudly, holding the door open for you as you walked to her car.
“Please, you’ve seen it on me hundreds of times.”
“It’s one thing to see you in my jersey or Ingrid’s amor, never fails to make my heart go crazy.”
“I love you,” you tell her, blushing lightly when she opens your door for you; Ingrid already sitting inside.
“I love you too,” She whispers quietly, leaning in to kiss your cheek.
//
You walk to training together, they follow you into the medical room to introduce you to everyone and to get you settled. Ingrid kisses your head and Mapi kisses you before leaving, heading to training while you work up a health plan for each and every one of the players.
You come out to the pitch a while later to introduce yourself to the team which isn’t necessary since the girls are over at your house at least once a week anyway and you knew all of them well. They come over to say hello at a water break, Alexia gives you a hug when Mapi comes up from behind and hugs you as you talk to Irene, Patri and Ingrid.
“Go back to practice, clingy.”
“I wanna hang out with you.”
“We live in the same house, you will live without me for a bit. Go.”
“Asshole.”
“That is so sweet of you, love.”
She lets go and kisses your cheek before running back on the pitch with Ingrid following her. You speak with Jonatan for a bit to discuss how he wished to have the medical team at games and such. You go back inside after, waving to the girls.
Ingrid and Mapi find you in your office after training, freshly showered and ready to go home. You make them sit and wait a bit, finalizing a little work before shaking Mapi awake to go home. You drive, the two girls too tired as they both fall asleep on the way.
Mapi crashes on the couch snoring while Ingrid forces herself upstairs, you chuckle and clean out their kit bags and do a load of laundry before starting on dinner. Mapi wakes up when she smells the steak you’re cooking, trudging to the kitchen grumpily.
“Hello sleepy head.”
“Hola,” she grunts back, sitting on the counter and rubbing her eyes.
You hand her a bottle of water and force her to have half, knowing she was probably thirsty but too stubborn to drink water. She jumps off the counter and throws the finished bottle in the trash before standing behind you and hugging you like she did earlier. She kisses your neck softly, arms snaked under her hoodie you had on.
“Dinner will be ready in 5, baby.”
“I’ll set the table. You’re the best, you know that?”
“I know.”
She laughs and lets go, setting the table before calling for Ingrid. You walk in with three plates, putting theirs in front of them before sitting down with your own. Ingrid digs in, sighing when she takes a bite. You smile and watch her eating as you join her while Mapi scarfs down her food at lightning speed.
“You hungry?” you ask her teasingly, grinning when she looks up with a mouth full of food.
“You’re in the wrong profession bebé.”
“These hands save lives and feed them. I love both babe; it makes me happy to see you both and the girls enjoy my cooking. Besides, it helps me destress from work.”
//
“Y/N!”
You heard your name being called during a game against Real Madrid. You look up and grab your medical bag and rush onto the field without knowing which player you’re treating. When you get there, your heart nearly stops. It’s María, face wincing in pain.
“María? Talk to me love, what hurts?”
“What doesn’t?”
“Quit being a smartass, tell me what hurts!”
“Ankle, I think her studs caught it.”
You move lower and grasp her leg, examining her ankle. You twist it to see the reaction and she yells out. Ingrid is kneeling by her head and stroking her hair, whispering softly to her to calm her down. You carefully pull her boot off followed by her sock, her ankle already starting to bruise.
“She’s out, she can’t play like this.”
“I can, just need a minute.”
“You will not, I’m pulling you off.”
The tone you used got her to stop arguing, you motioned for the stretcher to haul her off the pitch. Ona was already warmed up and ready to go, taking her spot in the game while you tended to Maria.
She sat in the examination room quietly as you iced her ankle and taped her up. She winced and whined which you promptly ignored, knowing she would complain about it after. You helped her back to the benches to watch the rest of the game, keeping her leg elevated and thoroughly iced.
“Are you okay, elskling?” asked Ingrid after the game, helping María into the car after she showered and changed, both of them positively excited by the win.
“Yes but no one has kissed it better yet.” She replies with a pout, you roll your eyes at her as you put their bags in the back with yours.
“Our Y/N didn’t kiss it better? What kind of doctor are you?” Ingrid accused you, Mapi nodding deftly with her. You chuckle and look at both of them in disbelief, hopping into the driver’s seat. Mapi was in the back with her leg across the backseat, Ingrid climbing into the passenger seat grinning.
“I did my job, I will not coddle you María.”
“I am your girlfriend, the contract says you must coddle me.”
“Are you in any pain?”
“No.”
“Any discomfort?”
“Not really.”
“Can you put pressure on your leg despite it being black and blue?”
“Yes, it’s perfectly wrapped.”
“Then I did my job.”
She huffs, crossing her arms and pouting.
“Fine, I will kiss it better when we get home.”
“You big softy.”
“Your leg is about to be even worse, María.”
//
“Y/N!”
“Yes?”
“Can you help me?”
You walk into the living room to find Mapi reaching for the TV remote on the coffee table. Ingrid is sitting there with a book, apparently ignoring Mapi.
“I can’t reach the remote.”
“Why did you call me when she’s literally sitting right there? I’ve got food on the stove!”
“She’s ignoring me.”
“And why is that, love?”
“I threw her book across the room when she didn’t want to cuddle me.”
“Sounds like you deserve it then.”
“I am injured! You’re both supposed to pity me! Baby me!”
“You don’t throw your girlfriends book across the room when she tries to read!”
“And you don’t call her a hundred and one times just to get you the remote!”
María leaned forward and managed to grab the remote, grinning up at you proudly.
“Got it! Sorry babe, don’t need you after all!”
“Call me one more time María León and I will make sure you never walk again.”
She cowers, turning on the tv and watching it till dinner time. You bring dinner to the both of them and enjoy a little tv along with it. Ingrid cleans up and comes back to cuddle you, pulling you into her arms as her hands thread through her hair. You scoot Mapi up between your legs gently, braiding her hair into small locks. Suddenly she speaks up, looking at the both of you propped up on her elbow.
“I’m sorry I annoyed the both of you today. I just wanted your attention but I guess I just didn’t know how to say it without sounding pathetic.”
Both you and Ingrid sit up and look at each other in shock. Mapi sat herself up too, Ingrid and you moving around to kneel before her. She looks at her hands, picking at a hangnail.
“Darling, you never have to do that to get our attention. You just have to ask us, we’ll both drop everything for you.”
“You’ll never sound pathetic for asking us to love on you mi amor, that’s what we’re here for! You deserve it, you never have to hide it bebé.”
She smiles, biting her lip. You lean in and kiss her, gently caressing her leg. Ingrid moves behind her, kissing down her neck and rubbing her arms. Mapi moans into the kiss, hands flailing between you and Ingrid, unsure of what to do.
You lean over and kiss Ingrid over Mapi’s shoulder as she watches, eyes wide. Nothing turns her on more than seeing both her girlfriends making out. Ingrid takes the lead in the kiss, cradling your head how she wants, obviously licking into your mouth as your tongues taste each other. Mapi outwardly moans, which makes the both of you pull away slowly.
“Wanna join us upstairs, cariño?”
“Upstair–I am a CRIPPLE!”
“Just joking, hold on.”
You pick her up easily, leading the way up to your bedroom. Mapi leans into your neck and kisses you, biting down softly. You gently set her on the bed, stripping her of her clothes. Ingrid suddenly pulls you into her, kissing you hotly as she makes Mapi watch. She makes a show of groping and caressing you, your hands tangled in her messy hair. She moans when you tug, pulling away to attach your mouth to her unmarked neck. She keens, holding onto you as you bite and suck. Mapi is touching herself, hand dipped between her legs as she noisily gets wetter and wetter.
“Enjoying the show?” Ingrid asks her, hands beginning to pull off your clothes sensually. Mapi watched with dark eyes, slipping a finger into herself as you swayed your hips and kissed lower down Ingrid’s body. You did the same to her, pulling off her clothing and tossing them about the room. Mapi moaned loudly when you kneeled before Ingrid and kissed between her legs. You pulled her underwear down and leaned in, kissing her barely peeking clit. You spread her a little and feasted, licking and sucking on her as she pulled your hair and keened. Mapi had two long fingers inside her now, the wet sounds coming from both sides of the room as you aided each other in getting off. Ingrid pushes you to kneel before the bed, leaning back for her to ride your face. You let her get comfortable before she pulls your hair back and grinds herself down on your face. Your nose devotes itself to grazing her clit as your tongue sticks out for her to sink herself on. She groans and looks up to see Mapi panting and fingering herself, eyes focused on the scene in front of her.
Ingrid pulls away just before she cums, leaning in to give you a searing kiss. She groans and pulls your face into hers when she tastes herself so potently on your tongue. Mapi screams incoherent Spanish, cumming hard from the erotic live show she’s got to give herself mind-numbing pleasure.
The two of you grin and climb onto the bed to kiss her, lips locked in a hot three-way lip-smacking fight for dominance. Mapi comes out of top, pulling the both of you off her to make out for her to watch briefly. She smirks at you and kisses both of you separately, giving it to both of you how you like it.
“Grab my strap for me, darling.” Mapi tells you, you hop off the bed and do what she asks while Ingrid checks on her leg. It’s been a couple days and she’s really resting just as precaution, but the two of you worry about her anyway.
Ingrid helps her put it on, while you sit at the foot of the bed and watch. Mapi strokes it briefly before looking at you, gesturing you to come to her. You crawl to her slowly, swaying your hips just to tease. She smirks and waits patiently, pulling you to straddle her hips. The strap pokes your inner thigh when you sit on her, Ingrid leaning in to kiss you softly as Mapi caresses your thighs.
“Want you to ride me, niña.”
You whine and sit up, arousal becoming more evident when her hand slips between your legs and pulls away soaked. No one had touched you at this point, your pent-up arousal pooling generously in your cunt.
“No need for lube, wanna see you sit on my cock angel, come on.”
You listen, holding her cock steady for you to sink down onto it. You whine and shudder as it fills you, the stretch pleasant and painful at the same time. It was soul-snatchingly addicting. You bounced a little, testing the waters. Ingrid kissed you and slowly rubbed your clit, Mapi’s hands caressed your thighs and hips, softly encouraging you as you took more and more of her cock.
Finally, fully speared on her, you slowly rode her cock; moaning loudly when she gave your ass a couple hard smacks. Ingrid moved to ride her face, facing you to lean in and make out. It was pleasurable for all of you, your hands held Ingrid’s as she cupped your cheeks and kissed you harder. Mapi was devouring her pussy, noisy slurps filled the room as it blended with the slick sounds between your legs. You cried out her name when her cock grazed your spot, angling your hips to hit it each time you sank down on her. It made your head spin; her cock filled you deep and full.
Ingrid was also panting now, your hands groping at her breasts as she resumed circling her fingers over your swollen clit. Everyone was close, orgasms right there ready for us to grasp. You were riding Mapi harder now, bouncing on her thick cock, desperately pleading to cum. Ingrid was the same, grinding down on her face while reached back to pull on her hair.
You grabbed Ingrid’s face when you came, kissing her fervently as she came right after you. Mapi too reached her peak for the second time that night, chin wet with a fucked-out smile on her face.
//
“All healed now, Maps?” Ona asked her as you all got on the plane to travel to Frankfurt.
“Yes, I am fit as a fiddle. Did you know that sex is the best medicine?”
“I will injure you again, María. I may heal people for a living, but remember; I know how to undo the healing and that is a promise.” You told her, the whole plane laughing when the defender cowered into her seat and tried to hide behind Lucy as you and Ingrid gave her the death stare.
A/N:  Merry Christmas everyone! 🎁🎄 So happy to participate in the Christmas Writing Challenge alongside such an amazing group of writers. Thank you to @nytb for putting all this together! Check out @nytb’s fic that was posted earlier as well as @redhairedwolfwitch's fic coming out soon!
Small but Meaningful (Mapi Leon x Reader)
You’re not one to make impulsive decisions. It’s crucial to think things through and carefully consider all the pros and cons before making a final verdict. It doesn’t matter if it's deciding on a new job or a new pair of shoes, the process is the same.
To you, this is completely normal. It’s the way you’ve always been. To others, however, it’s a little extreme. Everyone in your life, at some point or another, has encouraged you to be more spontaneous. To not think things through so much and to just go with the flow. But, they quickly realize that it’s just not in your nature.
And yet, you managed to fall in love with one of the most impulsive human beings you’ve ever met. Unlike you, María Pilar León rarely gives more than five minutes of thought to any decision. If her heart calls for it, she will do it. Mapi doesn’t fear consequences. She knows she can handle anything and everything that is thrown her way. And that’s why you love her so much.
Her tattoos are a perfect example of this. One night, the two of you are just lying in bed, scrolling through social media and occasionally showing each other a funny video or meme.
And then all of the sudden, Mapi sits up with a gasp, “me encanta!”
On her screen is a tattoo design of a skull with an outline of a light bulb. The moment you see it, you know the two of you will be in a tattoo parlour in less than 24 hours.
And just as you predicted, you’re now sitting next to Mapi as she discusses a few modifications to the design with the artist. Within seconds, Mapi made a decision that can last forever. She liked it, so she’s getting it. For her, it’s that easy.
You’ve thought about getting a tattoo before. The idea initially excites you, but once you really start thinking about it, you end up talking yourself out of it. Although Mapi’s personality and perspective on life have certainly rubbed off on you a little, just the thought of getting a tattoo gives you a headache.
With the design finalized, Mapi can barely contain her excitement. “Do you like it?” she asks, looking at you with a sparkle in her eye.
You may never actually get one yourself, but that doesn’t mean you don’t appreciate the beauty of tattoos. Not to mention how hot they look on your girlfriend.
“I love it, babe.”
Mapi, satisfied to hear your answer, leans back to allow the artist to apply the stencil to her skin.
“And when will I have the honor of tattooing you, Y/N?” asks the artist, still focused on her work.
Mapi stifles her laughter. She, of all people, knows the chances of you ever getting a tattoo are slim, if non-existent.
“Por favor, don’t make me laugh,” Mapi shakes her head, a teasing smile on her lips, “I think her brain would short-circuit trying to pick out a tattoo.”
You nod, in full agreement with Mapi. “Not an exaggeration.”
“You should have seen her last week trying to pick out a new toothbrush. She had like five tabs opened on her phone, just reading review after review.”
You squint your eyes at Mapi, giving her a little kick. “Hey! It was a big decision and it didn’t even take me that long to decide, anyway.”
“Remind me again how long it took you?”
You look down at the floor, feeling a little warmth creeping up behind your neck, “I don’t know,” you mumble, “like 30 minutes.”
Mapi turns to the artist and gives them a clear and obvious, I told you so, look. “You see what I’m dealing with?”
“I’ll get one, one day…” you say, trying your best to sound confident.
“Sure you will, baby. Sure you will.”
You and Mapi may be two very different people, that doesn’t mean you don’t share a few similarities. Like Mapi, you are very competitive. The very few times in your life when you’ve said, fuck it, without thinking of the consequences, have been for the sake of winning.
“Go ahead, underestimate me. That’ll be fun.”
Mapi, noticing the change in your tone, blows a kiss in your direction. She loves to tease you, but also knows not to push you too much. Unlike so many others in your past, she never wants to make you feel bad for what some might consider a flaw.
“You could always just be a little one, y’know,” the artist says, working on the lines of the tattoo “and if it means something to you, even better. Small but meaningful.”
You remain relatively quiet for the remainder of the session, lost in thought. What the artist said resonated with you.
Small, but meaningful.
___________
For the first time in years, you don’t have to stress about what to get Mapi for Christmas. She has loved every gift you’ve given her in the past — no matter how simple or expensive the gift. But still, you agonize for months on what to get her.
Now, just a few days before Christmas, you’ve never been so calm. Of course, Mapi has noticed how out of the ordinary this is for you.
“Something’s not right,” she says, standing in front of the TV and blocking your view.
“What do you mean?”
Mapi looks you up and down, “you’re acting weird.”
“How am I acting weird?”
“Two days before Christmas and you’re sitting here, watching TV, calm as a cucumber.”
“And what’s so weird about that?” you try to look past Mapi and at the screen, acting oblivious as to what the big deal is.
Mapi snaps her fingers at you in an attempt to get your attention, “you should be freaking out!” she exclaims. “This is like the most stressful time of year for you. I mean, did you just decide not to get me a gift this year?”
“I already know what I’m getting you, amor” you tell her, brushing her off.
“You do?”
“Mhmm.”
Mapi squints her eyes at you, one eyebrow slightly perked in suspicion. She knows you have something up your sleeve, but you know she’ll never be able to guess as to exactly what.
For the next two days, you find Mapi snooping under the bed, in the closet, in every cabinet and every possible hiding spot in the apartment. If you were able to decide on a gift so quickly, it must be a good one.
Now, sitting together under the Christmas tree, Mapi’s gift is still nowhere in sight.
“I can’t take this anymore!” she says, tapping her knees impatiently, “come on, stop messing with me and give me my gift.”
You’re just as excited to show Mapi her gift as she is to receive it. Her impatience is to be understood. This is the first gift you've given her that did not require any second guessing out of fear that she’ll hate it.
Wanting to draw out the suspense, your movements are slow. Very carefully you tug up the sleeve of your Christmas sweater. Mapi can’t help but lean forward when she sees the reindeer band-aid on your wrist.
“What happened?” she asks with concern. The gift is suddenly of no interest to her.
“Go ahead, take it off,” you encourage her. Now only a few seconds away from the reveal, you can’t help the grin spreading across your face.
Mapi delicately pulls on the end of the band-aid until a small, number 4, can be seen. As soon as she sees it, she leans back. A puzzled look on her face.
“What is that?” she asks, refusing to believe what she's seeing.
“What do you think it is?”
Mapi shakes her head, refusing to even believe the possibility. “No, I don't believe you” she says, leaning in again to get a closer look. “It can’t be real.” She wets her finger and tries to wipe away the number, but there it remains.
“I know I tend to overthink everything and that it drives you crazy sometimes — even though I know you’ll never admit it,” you tug her chin so she’s looking you in the eyes, “but if there’s one thing, I’m hundred percent certain of, it’s you.”
Mapi melts under your touch. She’s perfectly aware of how big of a decision this was for you and the fact that she’s the inspiration for your first tattoo makes it all that more special.
“I love it,” Mapi gives you a big smile and leans in to give you a soft and tender kiss, “and I love you,” she says against your lips.
Her reaction is everything you hoped for and more.
“I have so many cool designs to show you!” she says, shaking you side to side with her hands on your shoulders.
You put up your hand to stop her, “wait, don't you get too excited now.”
But it's too late. Mapi's already reaching for her phone.
Looks Can Be Deceiving (Mapi León x Reader)
Summary: While playing against your team in Paris, Mapi learns just how close you and a fellow PSG teammate have gotten.
anon request: jealous Mapi León
Tumblr media
There was no denying that you were excited about tonight's game. For the first time in a while, your excitement to play a match had nothing to do with football. This time, it had everything to do with a beautiful blonde defender. You hadn't seen your girlfriend in nearly two months. And you were excited about the weekend you had planned together after hearing that she'd gotten permission to stay behind for a few extra days.
 This was the first time Mapi was coming to Paris since you'd settled in at PSG. You always went to Spain because that’s where all your friends lived. The last time you'd played Barça, Mapi had been injured and didn't travel with the team. That had been a hard phone call to get. That time it had been three weeks since you'd seen each other and you were already so sick with missing her.
 Now, though, you had been doing this long distance dance for a long while and you had settled into a routine that you were both comfortable with. It was far from perfect and you both eagerly awaited the day you played for the same club again.
 You spotted her across the pitch, warming up. Both of you would be starting today. Catching her eye as you walked out, you sent her a huge smile and blew a kiss in her direction. She giggled and blew you a kiss back. You made a show of catching her kiss and pressing your hand to your heart.
 Barbora came up behind you, swinging an arm around your shoulder. "Ready to kick some Barça ass?"
 "Oh yeah. This is going to be fun." You smiled at her. Barcelona might be home but for the next two hours, your family were the opponents and your job was to keep them from winning this game.
 Barbora held her hand out to you and you laughed, extending your own hand for your secret good luck handshake. She'd been one of the first people to help you adjust to Paris and you were extremely grateful for her friendship. The culture of Paris was different from Barcelona and you were glad to have someone who was able to stand by you through it. You gave her a light pat on the butt as she turned to run towards the goal for warm ups.
 Barcelona kept you working throughout the entire first half. You had blocked at least 8 goal attempts, Barbora had stopped many more. Each time you'd stopped a Barça goal, you'd fist bumped each other. Barcelona was desperately trying to get through your backline. So far, they had been unsuccessful.
 In the second half, you and Irene Paredes both went down in the box after trying to win a header. Mapi was by your side the minute the whistle was blown.
 "Babe," you said weakly.
 "Step back! Give her space," you heard Barbora saying, shoving Mapi away from you. Barbora stayed next to you as the medical team checked you. You could see Mapi standing close, though. When you were standing again, you nodded at your girlfriend to let her know you were okay. Barbora patted your back as you got into position.
 The game ended 0-1, Barcelona. It was a hard fought game. You were tired and sad about the loss but you congratulated your old teammates, giving a few of them hugs. Jenni lifted you up over her shoulder, patting your butt a few times, making you giggle. Finally you saw Mapi making her way towards you. You gave her a hug, happy to have her back in your arms.
 "See you in a bit," she whispered, pressing a discreet kiss under your ear.
 You stepped back giving her a soft smile. Spotting Barbora over her shoulder, you moved past Mapi to give her a hug. Swinging an arm around her waist, you walked with her back to the locker room.
 ~~~
 The Barcelona locker room was buzzing with excitement from the win. Mapi joined the chorus of singing and dancing in the center of the room. Even after playing a full 90, she could still summon the energy to jump around in celebration with her teammates.
 Slowly the excitement died down and people started moving towards the showers. The young players who hadn't dressed had taken up a spot in the middle of the room to talk. One of them, Olga, laughed, fist bumping the air as she scrolled her phone. "Yeah, Y/N, get it," she said. “I knew there was something going on there.”
 "What'd she do?" Sandra asked.
 "Apparently, she's doing the PSG goalkeeper," she said, turning the phone around to show Sandra. "Barbora Votikova is smoking hot."
 Leila reached around Sandra and took the phone from Olga to scroll through the photos. There were dozens of them. Barbora and Y/N spotted out around Paris, getting cozy. Clearing her throat, she gave the phone back to Olga, telling her it was just gossip and not to believe everything she read. Leila shot a look over her shoulder at Mapi. But Mapi's good mood was already gone, replaced with sadness at the idea that you were cheating on her.
 Leila crouched in front of her, putting a hand on her knee. "We don't believe everything we read on the internet, right?"
 "Were there pictures?"
 "Aren't there pictures of you and Alexia?" Leila asked gently. "Does that mean the two of you are dating?"
 "No, of course not."
 "So give Y/N the benefit of the doubt. She's a good one." She squeezed her friend's knee.
 "But what if she's like - "
 "She's not your ex," Leila said firmly.
 "Show me the pictures." Mapi had watched your interactions with Barbora on the field and was already feeling like she had missed something.
 "Mapi, no."
 "I just need to see it for myself."
 Standing, Leila went to Olga and asked to borrow her phone again. She took it to Mapi and let her look through the photos. Photos of you and Barbora out to breakfast, walking around Paris holding hands, getting coffee together, sitting in each other's laps, laughing together, hugging. There were so many pictures. Mapi had known that you and Barbora spent a lot of time together but she had never seen just how close you had become. It didn't help to read the tweets that were adamant you were dating Barbora. Mapi shoved the phone back at Leila.
 "I think I've seen enough," she said, trying to keep the tears from spilling out.
 "Take a shower," Leila said. "And then go talk to your girl."
 ~~~
 You had been leaning against the wall outside the visiting team locker room for over thirty minutes already. Some of the players had trickled out but you hadn't seen your girlfriend come out yet. You texted her again to make sure she wasn't waiting elsewhere for you.
 Still no response.
 Sighing, you locked your phone again and dropped your hand to your side. There really was nothing to do but keep waiting.
 When Sandra came out, you asked her if Mapi was still in there. She gave you a strange look. She told you she was but wasn't sure when she would be out. And then she said, "you probably shouldn't wait for her." Squeezing your arm, she walked past you towards the bus parking.
 You scrunched your face in confusion. Sandra was one of the few in Barcelona who knew you and Mapi had gotten together before you left for Paris. She knew how excited you were for this weekend. How excited you both were. There was no way you were moving from this spot until you'd seen Mapi. Until you could make sure she was okay.
 After another 30 minutes, it seemed like everyone but Jenni, Alexia, Leila, and Mapi had come out. And you couldn't understand what those four were doing in there. Knocking softly, you called out, asking for permission to enter. Jenni peaked her head out. Sighing when she saw you, she stepped out into the hall.
 "Look, Y/N, I know Mapi was supposed to stay here with you this weekend, but I think she's going to head back to Barcelona with us. You should probably go home."
 "What happened? I want to see her."
 "She just wants to go back to Barcelona right now."
 "Is she okay?" you asked, tears prickling at the corners of your eyes. What could possibly make Mapi want to go back to Barcelona right now? You could only think that something awful must have happened. "Can I see her?"
 "I don't think that's a good idea." She blocked the doorway. You shoved against her side trying to push her to let you in but, as always, her strength surprised you. "Go home, Y/N."
 It was becoming clear that you were the awful thing that had happened. "I'm not going anywhere until I see her. What happened in the last two hours between when she kissed me on the field and now, where you're refusing to let me see her?" You crossed your arms, searching your brain for what could possibly make your girlfriend not want to even see you.
 "I don't know," she answered, honestly. "I got out of the shower and she was staring blankly at the wall. Leila muttered something about you when I asked what happened. She hasn't said much."
 "Okay, look. Go back in there and ask if I can have two minutes with her. Two minutes, that's all I'm asking for. And then you can take her back to Barcelona." Nodding, Jenni went back in, pulling the door tight behind her. You heard Leila shout, "absolutely not," and Alexia say something that you couldn't make out.
 Jenni opened the door for you. "You have two minutes but this door stays open." Leila and Alexia walked out, neither saying much to you. They both stopped right outside the door, not going any further away from Mapi. At least she has good friends, you thought. Jenni gave you a small smile and left you alone.
 Turning towards Mapi, you took in your girlfriend's appearance. She'd put her travel sweats on and pulled a random sweatshirt over her head. Her hair was wet and the tips had made small wet patches on her sweatshirt. Her hands were grasping the bench so tightly that her knuckles were completely white. She was staring down at the floor, refusing to make eye contact with you.
 You walked to her slowly, sitting on the bench opposite her. "Babe?" You weren't sure if she had registered that you were there. You saw her fingers curl even tighter around the bench, though, and had your answer. "Are you okay?" Nothing. "Did I do something?" Nothing. You leaned forward and put a hand on her shoulder.
 She suddenly looked up at you, her eyes completely unreadable. "Are you cheating on me?" she rushed out.
 "What?" That was absolutely the last thing that you thought she was going to say. "Why on earth are you asking that?"
 "You're not denying it," she said, the first sign of anger appearing. She looked down again. "You can't even pretend to deny it?"
 "María, no absolutely not. I am not cheating on you. Hey," you said, prying her fingers off the bench so you could hold both her hands. "Why would I cheat on the most amazing girlfriend in the entire world?"
 "Things happen. We haven't seen each other in a few months."
 "So are you cheating on me, then?"
 "Of course not."
 "But I am? Babe, what is going through that beautiful head of yours?"
 "You and Barbora. So many images of you and Barbora," she said, moving away from you. "I just can't stop seeing the two of you together." She stood to put space between the two of you.
 "Barbora is my friend. One of the only friends I have in Paris." You stood up, too. Mapi might want space from you and usually you respected that. This wasn't one of those moments you were going to give it to her, though. You wrapped your arms tight around her, pressing yourself into her back, and trapping her arms at her sides. "I love you, María. I'm not like her," you sneered thinking of Mapi's ex, "I'm not stupid enough to lose you by cheating on you. I’m not cruel enough to put you through that."
 She sagged in your arms and the tears hit your hands on her stomach.
 "Baby?" You released her so you could turn her to face you. The tears were streaming down her face, her bottom lip trembling. "I got you," you said gently, wrapping her in a tight hug again. She clung to your waist, burying her head against your shoulder. "I love you. I love you. I love you," you whispered over and over again, hoping she believed you, hoping if you said it enough she would start to believe it. You stood there, holding each other.
 Her tears had soaked through the material of your shirt. Reaching into your pocket, you pulled out one of your ever-present tissues and gave it to her. She blew her nose. You swiped your thumbs across her face, catching a few of the lingering tears. "Please stay in Paris this weekend," you said quietly. When she didn't answer, you rambled on nervously. "I'll understand if you go back to Barcelona today but please stay. I really want to spend some time with you and I don't want to wait another few weeks."
 "Yes, I'll stay," she said quietly.
 "Can I take you home now?" She nodded, lacing her fingers with yours. Leaning over, you picked up her bag and yours from the ground, swinging both over your shoulder. She saw Alexia, Jenni, and Leila hovering by the door as you got closer. They pulled you both into a group hug, having heard the conversation.
 "I'm going to stay here. Thank you for waiting for me."
 ~~~
That night, you poured every ounce of adoration and love into coaxing orgasm after orgasm out of your girlfriend. After the fifth one, you heard her start to cry again. You moved up the bed, pulling her against your chest.
 "I love you," she said. "I love you so much. You have so much power over me. Please don't break me," she quietly pleaded.
 "I would never." You cupped her cheeks, pressing kisses all over her face. "It's the same for me, love. You have the same power over me." You kissed her, making sure she could feel all your love. "I love you like crazy. Thank you for staying." You kissed her again, glad she had finally stopped crying.
 That weekend you showed her your Paris. The places you'd discovered with the best espresso. The places you went to read on weekends. The places you went when you missed her. The places that made you miss her. You kissed her in front of the eiffel tower. You held her hand tight as you walked along the Siene. And you made sure she felt like Paris could be her place, too.
 On Sunday, before leaving for the airport, you were sitting on the couch, her head in your lap. A football game played on the small tv in the corner. You were running your hand through her hair as she watched the game. At halftime, you gave her head a light scratch to get her attention. She looked up at you, smiling.
 "What do you think about making our relationship public?" you asked.
 "Are you sure?"
 You leaned down, kissing her. "I'm going to marry you one day, María Pilar León Cebrián." You wiped your chapstick off her bottom lip. "I'm more than sure."
 She sat up on her knees, taking your face in her hands. "I've been wanting to make us public for so long but I didn't want to push." She kissed you. "Let's do it." She grabbed her phone. "I already know what picture I want to post," she said excitedly.
 You giggled at how excited she was. The wide smile on her face was such a welcome sight after the terrible beginning to your time together. She showed you the picture she wanted to post - the two of you, laying in the park in front of the eiffel tower, laughing about something. You were tucked under her arm and nearly laying on top of her. You remembered the moment. It brought a smile to your face. You nodded, kissing her cheek.
 She posted it before she boarded her flight with the caption - "The eiffel tower is pretty but not nearly as pretty as you. I can’t wait to marry you one day. ily"
You simply commented - “Until next time, hermosa. 😘😘😘”
