I realize this is extremely stale news at this point, but are the like 3 people in my XF/SVU combined orbit on here aware of John "Kittycats" Shiban being the new L&O: OC showrunner?
(also, real conversation I had with my friend re: Marisa Roffman pointing out that Shiban co-wrote the episode "Release": "well that episode is about the mafia" me: "what does the mafia have to do with law & order: organized crime" [2 minutes later] "ohh right yeah")

This is a FANTASTIC article written by Marisa Roffman who runs Give Me My Remote. Definitely worth checking out if you're a member of the Wolfpack and want to help out the writers and actors.
FBI MOST WANTED
For FBI: MOST WANTED showrunner David Hudgins, this marks his second strike. The first time, in 2007, he was a co-producer on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. Now, “it’s really interesting to be going through this…where I’m a showrunner and I’ve been doing this 17 years longer,” he explains in the video below. “The issues to me are incredibly important.”
Hudgins acknowledges that some of the bigger issues impacting writers are in the streaming world, “but I’m here for basically the younger writers—the people down below,” he says. “Because we got to give them the chance to make a living…it’s not fair. And I think about what they’re dealing with now versus what I was dealing with back then. And something needs to change. And I think now is the time…we’ve got all these people out here, and nobody has relented.”
While arguments have been made online that people should just accept their one-time initial payment for the script or acting performance—a specious argument considering the revenue syndication continues to bring in for the studios—Hudgins shares how he explained it to his family: “If you write a play, you keep the copyright; if you write a book, you keep the copyright. If you do television or film, it’s a work for hire, you don’t own the copyright and the compensation for that is a residual. And they’re not paying enough. So it’s gonna take something like this to get them to come to the table, I think. And we’re not going to stop until they do come back to the table.”

To this day, David and Emily, if you know them as human beings, there's no way they should get along. You could not find two people who were more predestined to irk and irritate each other. And they're fantastic friends. They took care of each other offscreen. They were very sibling-esque offscreen and behind the scenes. That's the other reason we went forever: You've heard all those stories of what happens between co-leads on series; they tend to really dislike each other. Ours didn't.  - Hart Hanson (Courtesy of Marisa Roffman - TVInsider)

INTERVIEW By Marisa Roffman
‘Lost in Space’ Stars Pick Their Favorite Near-Death Scene
As it turns out, space was the least of their worries.
Over the course of three seasons, the Lost in Space crew save humanity, visit different planets, make new friends... and almost die approximately a dozen times a year. (It’s not easy being heroes.) But somehow — spoiler alert — they manage to survive their journey intact. Ahead, the actors share their favorite close-call moments from the series.
Tumblr media
Maxwell Jenkins (Will Robinson): “The first time Will gets stabbed [in Season 3, Episode 6] was probably my favorite. Not only story wise — because I really like the lead-up to it and what follows — but filming it was such a fun, hard, challenging, incredible process. We spent a day and a half on just that scene alone. And we used everything; we got every kind of footage we possibly could. We brought out a special camera that shot like 7,000 frames per second in super slow-mo. We did some crazy camera angles, where we had the camera operator fall with me when I go down. We used every possible crane. And, also, the creative team on that scene was just incredible. It’s an emotional, hard scene to film. We all worked really hard to film that one.”
Tumblr media
Molly Parker (Maureen Robinson): “It somehow never occurred to me until we actually began [filming] Season 1 that these people are almost dying all the time. [Maureen] is in a state of panic constantly and needing to come up with a solution. The thing about that is that I know that that’s not really happening, but my body doesn’t know [it’s just acting]. So when I get to the end of shooting each season, I am exhausted. There’s just a level of adrenal fatigue that happens after the show. But I have to say, I think my favorite scene of all the times we almost died [was] when John and Maureen are stuck in the tar pit in the Chariot [in Season 1, Episode 7]. [Only] one of us is going to get out and we have this scene — it’s kind of a coming back together of these people... it was just such a tender scene. For me, [I] was like, ‘Okay, I want this show at that level. I want us to be working at that kind of level.’ I love that. Toby Stephens is just such a terrific actor and has become such a dear friend; I like what we were able to do there.”
Toby Stephens (John Robinson): “My favorite near-death experience was when Maureen and [John] are stuck in the tar pit in the Chariot. It’s a wonderful sequence, because they haven’t — in the first season — been close at all. The marriage is not working and it’s falling apart. They are thrown into this situation where all of the illusions are out of the window, because they’re about to die. So there’s this sort of truthfulness about them, and then they come together. The audience has been wanting it, really, and [Maureen and John have] been wanting it. It catalyzes this scene where they’re together, finally. But then they know that one is going to have to die.”
Tumblr media
Mina Sundwall (Penny Robinson): “I loved the stuff in the water with Ignacio [Serricchio, who plays] Don West [in Season 3, Episode 1]. That was not only really fun to film, but the first time I’d ever done a stunt like that and acted in an environment that was equally as complicated and overwhelming as what the character was going through. We did a lot of green screen and there were lots of stunts, but that one really took a different toll on the scene. [And] in Season 3, I don’t know if it’s necessarily defying death, but all the rock-climbing stuff was kind of very dangerous in their world, and that was a lot of fun to do.”

The GLEE Cast and Creative Team Reunite to Support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA Strikes: ‘We’re At a Turning Point in Our Industry’
Tumblr media
The GLEE cast and creative team. (Photo credit: Marisa Roffman/Give Me My Remote.)
The GLEE cast and creative team reunited on Wednesday, August 23 to show their support for the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. And while a number of the key players have regularly picketing, the official reunion stemmed from an unexpected source: Aspiring actress Aly Fabrizio.
After filling out a form to host a themed WGA picket at Warner Bros, the ball started rolling. The day included multiple food trucks (including one sponsored by GLEE vet Jane Lynch), as well as show-appropriate grilled cheese, slushies, and cupcakes made by Fabrizio. “My heart’s still racing a little bit,” Fabrizio says. “Seeing them all back together makes me want to cry, in a good way. Knowing I organized it makes me really happy.”
Former GLEE star Darren Criss was picketing at the WB lot earlier in the week when “somebody, in passing, mentioned to me that there was going to be a GLEE day,” he shares. “And so I said, ‘F— yeah, I’ll be there. Wouldn’t miss it.’”
Criss joined co-creator Brad Falchuk, as well as a gaggle of stars including Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Heather Morris, Iqbal Theba, Max Adler, Becca Tobin, Jacob Artist, Dot-Marie Jones, Vanessa Lengies, Patrick Gallagher, and Josh Sussman on the picket line, snapping selfies with each other and fans, and having some fun with the GLEE-themed picket line karaoke. (Gallagher sang “Sweet Caroline,” tweaking the words to reflect the ongoing strike—and joking there’s a reason he didn’t sing on the Fox series.)
“There is an unfortunate disparity in wealth that needs to be sorted for future generations,” adds Criss. “We’re not just looking out for us, we’re looking out for the ones that come after us and our families. And [we’re fighting for] the people before us who wished they could have organized and galvanized each other, to put systems in place to protect the work.”
youtube
“For the writers’ strike in 2007…we didn’t have social media, and there was this sort of this, ‘Oh, it’s happening over there’-ness to it,” Criss adds. “What is convenient about this go-round with the strike is that it’s very public and in the faces of—and hands of—people who aren’t part of the union, who are on the outside looking in, and understanding the inner wiring of it a lot better.”
“So I would encourage anybody who is a fan of this show to show their support on social media, perhaps to educate themselves on what this is and what labor disputes are, in general,” he continues. “This is a labor dispute, much like any union going on strike. It’s a very measured course of action to accomplish a goal. And I think educating yourself to understand what we’re trying to do here, especially if you’re a young fan, so that moving on in any business, whether it be the entertainment business, whether you’re an actual writer or even a producer in the future, you’re understanding what the grievances are.”

Someone on Twitter who has seen Thursday's episode, they work for an entertainment site, said that there are things that need to be discussed with regards to E/O. They said it's "barring something unprecedented". You can go to their Twitter page, search Marisa Roffman, to see the thread about it.
Goddddddddddddd ok ok ok ok so like. On the one hand. Thank you lmao I NEED eo mess I am living for this. On the other. I am not gonna be searching them out on Twitter 🤣 I wanna watch a preview and spend a week dreamily imagining scenarios and then watch the real thing and then move on. I love imagining what could happen, but for some reason Official Spoiler Confirmation™ takes all the joy out of it for me.
