OT3: Cadeverage. ❤️ 💜💙
“So we’ve got Barry’s half-sister,” Sage pointed to Averey. “Someone who’s known him forever,”--she pointed to herself”--”and the girl who’s brave enough to date him.”--she pointed to Cadence. She grinned. “Yeah...we’re going to make his life miserable.”

✦ RP HOOKS ✦
·         Goblet Life: Honi has just opened up his own Private Eye business located in the Goblet called the Honeypot Agency. He and his colleagues can help you out of any sticky situation.
·         Maelstrom: Honi once served in the Maelstrom as a scout and spy but has since retired. Perhaps something from his past has come back to haunt him?
·         Shinobi: Honi was trained in the ways of the ninja by a Doman refugee while in the Maelstrom. He has also spent alot of time far east thanks to his FC. Perhaps another shinobi seeks his aid?
·         Oh brother, where art thou?: Honi originally left the Black Shroud in search of his brother who had been thought dead. He had only found bits and small clues as to what happened to his brother and none of them are good. Perhaps you can help with the search?
✦ CONTACT INFORMATION ✦ Tumblr: @vivalahoni Follows come from @vivalaezra Discord: Huckebein#3245 In Game: Zari’to Honi on Mateus. I also rp on Ezra Elric on Balmung.
·         I will not rp with minors, either ic or ooc.
·         I rp both in game and discord.  I’m more so available on discord thanks to work being very relaxed at time ^_^. I’m also happy to rp anywhere on the Crystal Datacenter
·         I am around US EST early AM or late PM.
·         I am open to lore bending but not breaking. Discuss before hand before we add it into the RP.
·         I generally prefer a heads up on triggering topics that may come into rp like rape, walking in on intense torture scenes, ect ect. While I’m happy to rp mature themes, I generally just like some warning about somewhat intense/dark scenes before proceeding.
·         Any long term damage to my character must be discussed ooc first.
Thanks for taking the time to read, ciao!

Made another reference after a whole story batch of refs :] I don't think I've ever introduced her here actually? I don't care enough to check lmao. This is Daisy Dimalanta, a music teacher who falls in love with a silly Aye Eye fella as you do. The fella's name is Mark Moreaux, who is designed and belongs to @solobodor :] Adding some old doodles from when we made the duo !

———-
Her finger pulsed on the trigger, sending arrow after arrow flying off her crossbow. Her heart jumped in her chest as she shuffled backwards, keeping close to her husband and her daughter. She cracked a grin, at the idea and at taking down a shadow demon. Fighting with her husband and daughter from the future? If she weren’t so used to this life, she’d wonder what Barry did to mess things up this time. Only he had no hand in bringing Izzy to her. That was luck she supposed. And she’d cherish this moment, seeing her daughter fighting with reckless abandon, saving the Earth, following in Oliver’s footsteps.
Sage returned her focus to the battle around her, ducking and dodging to hit every and any member of the Anti-Monitor’s shadow army. Ray’s blaster beams sliced through the air, dancing with Kara’s and Clark’s beams shooting from their eyes. The rest of them stayed on the ground—Barry, Oliver, Izzy, Kate—circling and keeping the enemy away one by one. Bursting into clouds of smoke and matter with every strike.
A flash of red. Barry punching out a demon.
Blue beams. Kara and Clark twisting around, taking down demons diving from above.
A smear of green. Oliver—no—Izzy flipping through a well-aimed kick, curly hair flying.
Sage’s heart swelled with pride at the direct hit.
Izzy would be okay.
They’d all be okay.
Blue flashing and twisting within a cloud appeared to Sage’s left and she cursed beneath her breath at the sight of the Monitor. No! Not now! This can’t be it!
“The battle is lost,” the Monitor announced, stepping out of the temporal gateway. “We must retreat and save our resources for battles yet to come.”
Sage glanced at Oliver, at her husband, out the corner of her eye. He barely reacted to the Monitor’s statement, still drawing back his bow, still fighting. But she spotted it in his eye, through the grease smeared around the skin, through the mask. A fleeting sort of hesitancy that made her, for one second, rethink everything. But then the fire reignited and he kept going, his movements so fluid and graceful that for a brief moment she stared, took in the beautiful sight of him. She steadied her jaw. That’s that, then.
Her finger pulsed on the trigger.
Puffs of blue clouded smoke enveloped them one by one. Kate. Ray. Kara. Clark.
Izzy! She turned a halfstep, a shout dancing on the tip of her tongue, to warn, but it died away when she was enveloped too. Doubts careened around her. She stood and watched as her daughter, her baby, disappeared before her eyes.
Was this still right? Was she doing the right thing? There was still a chance, to spend time with her, to be there for her little girl. One unplanned but never unwanted.
“Oliver!”
Barry’s shout made her whip around, a searing pain lodging in her chest at the sight of Oliver being knocked over.
She gripped her crossbow. No. She need to be here.
Her eyes locked with the Monitor’s and he lifted his hand. “No!” she snarled with such a ferocity that it rumbled in her chest. He paused and she shook her head. The Monitor’s head inclined, a single nod. Confirmation.
She nodded back.
“Oliver,” the Monitor called out, shifting his attention. Sage did the same, lifting her crossbow and firing more arrows. They whizzed through the sky, hitting each mark. Bursting every target. “It is time.”
“Has the planet been evacuated yet?” Oliver demanded, his gruff words sending a shiver down her spine.
“Not entirely,” the Monitor replied.
“Then it’s not time!” Oliver
Oliver looked at Sage. It crept all the way down to her toes, unsteadying her for a second in only the way that Oliver could manage to make her waver. She closed her eyes, engraving that look in her mind, in her heart.
“Sage—”
“Ollie,” she interrupted him, eyelids flying open, eyes hardening.
“Go.”
“No.”
“Sage, don’t—”
Sage grasped at the insignia on her midnight blue suit, twisted it to the left. It cranked and clicked until she stopped and then slapped it, pushing it a few inches inwards. Blue beams shot off from the insignia and traveled down the inner arms of her suit, crawling up to her palms. Energy surged through her and she dropped the crossbow, holding up her hands, thrusting them outwards as she concentrated.
A thin, blue dome popped up around them. The shadow demons all halted, stopped in midair, frozen. Pain rolled in waves in Sage’s head. Tears formed on the bottom lids of her eyes and a warm, wet trail slid down from her left nostril. It slipped over her lips and she stuck out her tongue, taking in the familiar metallic taste of blood. Oliver whipped around, looking this way and that as she gritted her teeth, straining.
“Wha…?”
“Froze time,” she uttered.
“You can—?”
“I can now,” she said. Her legs began to tremble. “It’s new. I don’t use it much.” She sucked in a hissing breath through her teeth as he approached. “Don’t have much time. Just needed…to say something.”
She focused on Oliver’s echoing footsteps rather than the flames licking at her muscles, coursing beneath her skin, and cracking her skull. Her breaths came out in ragged, hissing bursts but she kept her eyes on him. On Oliver. And she leaned into his comforting touch when his gloved hand cupped her cheek and his forehead pressed against hers.
“I’m…I’m s-so…proud of you,” she uttered, doing her best to keep her strength. In her words. In her body. In her resolve. “Oliver Queen, I’m so proud of you. And—and I love you. You gave me a b-beautiful daughter…and a beautiful life. And I th-thank you.”
“I love you,” Oliver said. He pressed a kiss to her lips, the blood clinging when he pulled away. He didn’t move to wipe it away. “You need to go.” His breath ghosted across her lips. She took in his scent, cologne mixed in with leather and mint. So uniquely Oliver.
Sage shook her head. ‘’Til death do us part, remember?” His eyes darkened and his jaw set. A little muscle twitched near the back, below his ear. His lips pressed into a line and, oh, how she wanted to kiss those lips again. One last time.
But she couldn’t move.
Not yet.
The field would break and then… It wasn’t time.
They needed to be ready.
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
“I can’t ask you—”
“You didn’t. And you won’t. This…this is what has to happen. I’m fine with it. This is what I want. You’re what I want.”
Oliver’s hand curled on his bow. He nodded, his nose nuzzling against hers. A low hum sounded in the back of her throat at their touch. She nodded. With a groan, she dropped her arms. The dome around them broke, shattering into small glittering pieces that rained down on the rooftop beneath them. Sound hit them all at once. The screeching of the shadow demons vibrated her bones and turned her stomach but her resolve steeled.
Staggering back to her feet, she pushed her hair back out of her face as Oliver lifted a bow and in one, fluid, sure gesture, shot it at the Monitor. Sage turned her back on him as he fell to the ground, electricity coursing over his body.
Lifting her stinging arms, Sage readied her crossbow, recalled all the marksman training her uncle Joe, and her father, and Oliver had put her through, and fought.
And fought
And fought. She rolled and dodged away from swooping shadow demons, landing swift kicks and punches to those that got close enough. A few exploded with the force of her swinging her crossbow around, catching them in the sides.
An explosion knocked her off her feet. A loud ringing screamed in her ears, her vision tilted, and her breath stuttered as she rolled around, trying to get back to her feet. Trying to fight. Soot and dirt coated the inside of her mouth, sucking the moisture out. Her coughs, ragged and hacking, seized her body and famed the flickering flames of ache.
Sage got to her feet, unsteady. Her eyes darted around until she spotted Oliver on the ground. “Ollie!” She clumsily skirted the debris and slabs of concrete on the roof top and dropped to his side. He swung his legs around, lifting into a kneeling position as he reached back for an arrow.
He grabbed air.
She held her gloved hand out to him and he grasped it, allowing her to help him to his feet. Their grip tightened as they looked in one another’s eyes, their breaths steadying. She squeezed hard and slipped her hand out of his grasp, turning to face the shadow army head on. Flashes of her family flittered through her mind: Uncle Joe, Iris, Wally, Barry, Nora, Caitlin, Cisco, Ralph, Cecile, her daughter Izzy.
Oliver.
“By the way.” Sage dragged the back of her hand against her mouth and turned a half-smile over to Oliver, coupled with a wink. “Happy anniversary.”
He blinked, uttered a short laugh, and shook his head. All at once the mirth in their faces drained and were replaced with stony acceptance. Oliver threw away his bow. Sage tossed down her crossbow and yanked ring daggers out the patches on her thighs. They tensed and, with simultaneous battle cries, they charged, united.

Sage + Wanted List = ?
Prompt: 48 “Please don’t tell me it’s you on the World’s Most Wanted list.”Prompt list: (x)Fandom: The Flash/ArrowCharacters: Sage Moreaux, Cisco Ramon, Iris WestPairing: Slight WestAllenWord count: 3346AU where the metahumans, good and bad, are being round up onorders of President Eiling and exterminated due to a new anti-metahuman regime. Those that haven’t been caught yet have bounties on their heads and work hardto survive and ensure there’s a tomorrow in their futures.
——
The thick layer of fog that had settled over Central Citymay blanket the desolation from outsiders but those that still inhabited theonce shiny town only barely noticed its suffocating presence. The citizens gotused to the dreary, gloomy forecasts just like they got used to the vacant androtting playgrounds, malls, and theaters. President Eiling made sure no stonewas left unturned when he put his new regime in order. He claimed that it wasto protect his once-fellow citizens; everyone connected to S.T.A.R. Labs knewit was simply a vehicle for revenge. One they couldn’t stop no matter how hardthey tried.
Glass crunched beneath her sturdy boots as she skidded to astop, grasping onto his arm to keep from slamming into the brick wall they werenestled in between for cover. Old, slanted, soggy cardboard boxes lined dottedthe alleyway like the black mold that crept along the vacant homes in thesuburbs. A forgotten village, an abandoned home.
She reached up to tug her hair, an act on instinct, andgrabbed air. Oh…that’s right… Shecleared her throat and looked up and down the alley, her eyes briefly landingon the weather-torn and sun bleached scraps of blankets left behind.
“You overshot us,” Sage commented with a huff. She lickedher cracked, dry lips and peered up and down the alley once more.
“Sorry, I can’t exactly steer right when I have someonebackseat breeching in my ear,” Cisco replied. He pushed a gloved hand throughhis scraggily, dry hair.
“I was just trying to warn you…”
“I don’t need the reminder.”
She sighed. No one needed to be reminded that Central City, which once stood so tall and was a frontrunner when it came to sciences andengineering, fell hard. The sparkle on the city dulled and no one wanted totouch it when the news of the S.T.A.R. Labs explosion spread. Then PresidentEiling came out with his “solution” to the metahuman “problem” and CentralCity’s stock plummeted past redeemable levels. People moved away, protesters weresilenced; Special Forces lined the streets as fugitives were dragged out ofhomes and torn from their families and those suspected of harboring wereinterrogated for hours on end. Or so the reports said. They didn’t have a lotof time to sit and read what was going on.
Sage looked around again. “Okay, hurry up and get us out ofhere. Before the sensors catch onto us.” That was President Eiling’s first ruleof business: installing new detection systems around the city that could trackmetahumans. He stole the prototype from S.T.A.R. Labs and used it against them;it was like stabbing them in the back with their own knives. That salt stungworse than dripping sweat in their eyes as they constantly moved. Stopping wasa bad idea; stopping was a death wish.
“Are you sure you—”
“Yes, Cisco. Ihave to go back. I need to see her. One last time, okay?” Cisco didn’t budge.Sage once again tried to grasp at her hair only for her fingers to brushagainst the shorter, darker strands that sat close to her head. She pressed herlips together and took a step closer to him. “If it were Dante I wouldn’t stopyou.”
Now Cisco’s lips became a thin line. The mere name stillleft a sour taste in his mouth and punched him hard in the stomach. But still,in spite of it, he knew her words rang true. After all, in the end, Dante didgive him a head start…
“Okay, but we can’t stay long. In and out,” Cisco said.
Sage gave a wry smile and adjusted the bag on her back. “IfI had a nickel for every time a guy said that to me…”
“Then you’d need to give them refunds for wasting yourtime,” he replied. His face remained stony but his words held a tinge of warmththat she hadn’t heard in a long while. Not since this all started. Her smilegot a little wider and she allowed a laugh to break through. It slid off herface a minute later when he stated, “The place is probably under surveillance.”
“I know. But I need to go back. Five minutes. Tops. You can breechus out in a second.”
Cisco nodded. He stretched out his arm and then pulled hiswatch close to his face. He pressed the buttons on the side and the lid poppedopen, allowing a projection of a sphere to pop out. He brought his arm closerto his face and peered at the illuminated dots that popped up on the image. He noddedand snapped the watch shut. “Okay, we should be—”
Zing!
The brick behind Sage’s head exploded, sending shardssplintering in every direction. She ducked and covered her head, feeling thebits rain down on her. Her heart revved in her chest and her muscles immediatelytensed. How could this be? There were no sensors in the area. They should’vebeen fine. And yet, all throughout the city, alarm sirens kicked off and filledthe air with the echoing, screaming wails.
“Spotted: Fugitives MH013T and MH011T! Falcon Sector, duenorth! Moving in!”
Ropes unfurled over the rooftop edges. A moment latersoldiers lined the edges of the rooftop, the scopes of their guns held up to theirgoggle-covered eyes. Their fingers, poised next to the triggers, twitched asthey waited for their orders.
“Ohh, this aint good,” Cisco uttered. He gulped when reddots appeared on the front of his dark leather jacket. “Oh this really isn’t good.”
“Don’t move! You’re under arrest!” A booming voice soundedfrom above.
“Shit shit shit,” Sage muttered. “Cisco, c’mere!” She took onestep forward, reaching out for his shoulder. If she could just make it…
“We have resistance! Open fire!”
Her gloved hand slapped down on his shoulder as the barrageof bullets flew towards them. She closed her eyes and concentrated. A tremorstarted in her feet, rolled up her legs, curled around her stomach, and crawledup her body. Every muscle inside of her quaked and quivered. Her skin cooledand she heard a faint tinkling in her ears, felt lighter on her feet…
Zing, zing, zing!
The brick behind Sage and Cisco exploded as bullets shotthrough their once-solid bodies. Little wisps of fog floated into the air asbullets passed through them, briefly marking the would-be entryway holes. Soonthe wall behind them resembled the targets at a shooting range, outlining theirtargets without leaving a mark.
“Cisco, open a breech!” Sage’s voice, now raspy and hard, filtered in through the loud pops of the bullets.
“Kinda need my arms back for that,” he replied. “Bring up abarrier!”
“Fine, but hurry!”
Taking a breath, Sage forced herself to let go of Cisco’sshoulder. All at once their bodies solidified from its previous gaseous state. She held out her hands, a light blue glow enveloped them, and with a wave ofher arms she created a force field that surrounded them. Anything that passedthrough the barrier gently floated to the ground, small snowflakes dropping tothe ground.
“Got it.” Cisco thrust out his hand, a quivering, quakingportal burst open on the ground in front of him. Grabbing onto Sage’s arm heflung himself down the hole, pulling her along with him. Flashes of color andlight shot past them until all light when away and they crashed hard onto theground.
“Doesn’t this thing come with airbags?” Sage groaned, her wordsmuffled due to her face pressing against the hardwood floor.
“Hey, just be glad I got you inside this time,” Ciscoreplied. His words were followed by a groan of pain as he sat up and rubbed hisback. He looked up, gulped, and then blanched at what stared back at him. “Err…mayyybenot.”
“Huh?”
Sage pushed herself up into a kneeling position and thenfelt it. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and her shoulders lifted toher ears. A chill rolled down her spine, not one that belonged to her ownabilities. She gulped and slowly turned only to stare down the barrel of a gun.Her eyes traveled up the length of the gun and up to the eyes of its wielder.
“Iris!” shegasped.
Iris’s jaw remained rigid though she did lower the gun. However Sage still kept her eyes on it, as her father and uncle used to sayevery gun was a loaded gun, even an empty one. “What’re you two doing here?”Iris demanded. “Don’t you know Central City’s under siege?” Sage didn’t missthe bitterness and weight in her cousin’s voice; it made her stomach twisthard. How could Iris, the glue in their family, become…this? Deep frown linesappeared etched into her skin, the dull glow of the single lamp deepening theminto canyons. The fire that once burned behind her eyes remained dormant, replaced by hard coals.
“Can’t miss it; we had quite the welcoming party,” Sagecommented. She tried for a smile, aching for some small bit of normalcy.
Iris didn’t crack a grin. Instead she pulled Sage to herfeet and yanked her close for a tight hug. All the tension that Sage held in herbody melted at the familiar contact. Finally!“I’m okay, we’re okay,” she muttered against Iris’s shirt.
Iris cupped Sage’s cheek in her hand, looking her over, andnodded as if in confirmation before hugging Cisco. For a brief moment thewarmth returned to her eyes but as she looked up the fire became extinguished oncemore.
She hummed and crossed the dusty room, pausing to peer outof the slat of light that filtered in through the boarded up windows. Itilluminated the abundance of dust motes dancing in the stale air. “They’ll behere in any second. You should leave,” she stated.
“I can’t leave yet,” Sage insisted, stepping closer to her. “I…Ihad to see you.”
Iris didn’t reply. Her eyes shifted over to Cisco who hadremoved his vibeglasses and blinked in the darkened house, turning this way andthat. “Looking for something?” Iris asked.
“Figured Joe would’ve come barging in or something,” Ciscocommented.
Iris sniffed and then clicked her tongue. Sage’s stomachdropped and her throat dried. She stood in front of Iris and looked up at hercousin, searching her face for something that could counteract the dread thatspread like vines deep within her. “Uncle Joe,” she uttered, her voice small inthe large house, “…tell me. He’s alright, isn’t he? Iris? Uncle Joe’s alright, right?”
“That depends on your definition,” Iris replied. Sage suckedin a breath. No. No! Please let Uncle Joebe okay!
Iris walked around her, heading towards the kitchen. Cisco’seyes immediately dropped to her gait; what once was a strong walk now turnedinto an interrupted gait, as if one leg had to hurry to keep up with the other.“What happened?” Cisco asked.
Iris peeled back a corner of the curtain on the backdoor andpeered out. She let go and it swung back into place. “They don’t treat thosethey suspect are harboring fugitives well,” she replied.
The word ‘fugitive’ was filled with so much venom; Iris mayas well have shot Sage right then and there. A bullet tearing through her skinwould hurt a lot less; at least that pain would subside. She squeezed her eyesshut as the pain radiated in her chest. Just like the very day President Eilingset his new regime into motion.
“Please don’t tell me it’s you I saw on the World’sMost Wanted list.”
The crack in Iris’svoice hurt more than seeing the expression on her face. Sage knew she shouldn’thave turned to look at her, knew that it probably would’ve been best to justcontinue to pack her bags and get out like Wells had advised them. It would’vebeen easier.
Iris grabbed Sage’sarm, stopping her from putting a framed picture of herself, Wally, and Joe intoher bag. “Please.”
“I can’t…Ris…” Sagestood straight and shook her head. Tear tracks stained her cheeks, illuminatingthem beneath the harsh sunshine outside. It rivaled the storm that raged deepwithin the West house. “I’m sorry, I have to go.”
“No. You don’t! Youcan stay. We’ll…we’ll figure something out!” Iris stated. She looked up overSage’s head to the three still figures in the doorway. “Guys, c’mon! You don’thave to go.”
“Iris, we have to. Ifwe stay…” Barry’s words trailed off. He swallowed the lump that rose in histhroat. “We need to get a head start. We’re meeting with Cisco and Hartley.”
“What about Caitlin?”Iris asked. “Are you leaving her behind?”
“She and Ronnie alreadyheaded out,” Wally replied. His bag, filled so much it bulged, hung off hisshoulder. It appeared to fold him over sideways beneath the weight.
“Daddy,” Iris said, appealing to her father. Tears clung to her lashes as she watched Joe rub ahand over his beard. “Daddy, please.”
“It’s out of my hands, baby,” Joe replied. His words and voice were thick. “There’s nothing I can do.”
“Iris.” Barryapproached her and pulled her into his arms. She deflated in his arms, hangingonto him as if her life depended on it. He gently rocked her from side to sideas the material of his shirt stifled her sobs. He kissed the top of her head. “Everythingwill be okay. We’ll be okay. We’ll come back, when this is all over. It’s allgoing to end one day, don’t worry.”
“But where are yougoing to go?” Iris asked, pulling away from him.
“Some place we’ll besafe,” Barry replied. He used his thumbs to brush the tears off her face. “Ilove you,” he murmured. “I love you so much, Iris West.”
“I love you too, BarryAllen.”
Sage turned away asthey kissed, perhaps for the last time. It would be easier to leave if she awaynow. Some say running away is the cowardly option. Those people never wereforced with the choice. She hoped they never would have to.
A siren soundedoutside. They all tensed.
“We gotta move,” Wallyinsisted. His eyes darted to the window as a bright light brushed past thewindow. The humming sound of a chopper grew in the distance.
“Iris—” Sage couldn’tfinish her sentence as Iris threw her arms around her, hugging her tight. “Thanks,”she uttered. “For everything.”
“Just come back. Okay?”
“I promise.”
“Where’s..?” Iris’s question, unfinished, hung in the air.Cisco and Sage looked at one another, silently daring each other to be the oneto break the news. Cisco was the one to crack at Iris’s raised eyebrows andpointed stare.
“We don’t know,” he admitted. Iris’s eyes briefly widenedand then they clouded over. She nodded once. Cisco’s admittance weighed heavyin the room.
Three months. How could everything change so much in threemonths?
Their group had dwindled when the bounty stakes rose for Barryand Wally back then; two speedsters were the perfect security blankets. Athought that President Eiling clearly was privy to, not a day went by wherethey could rest safe and assured. They were constantly on the move. Caitlin andRonnie had gone off on their own after a particularly nasty night strike, onewhere Eiling’s soldiers successfully captured Hartley in one of the raremoments he removed his hearing aids; Cisco hadn’t heard from them since.
And then Wally came down with some sort of illness and toldthem in no uncertain terms to leave him behind, he’d only slow them down. Barrywas then the leader, a position that put lead in his shoes but he found a wayto keep moving. Until one particular stand-off left him with a distinct limpthat didn’t seem to be getting any better, no matter how many times hereassured them. No matter how many times they tried to jumpstart his healingabilities. He knew something was wrong but he wouldn’t let them stop and talkabout it. They had to keep moving.
When news of the Arrow’s fall reached them they knew it wastime to split up.
It was only by chance that Sage and Cisco ran into eachother again having crossed paths somewhere in Texas. She had fallen on hardtimes in her attempt to stay one step ahead, finding brief moments of solace inanyone that would give up an hour of their time for intimate contact. They kepther whereabouts quiet if she kept their extracurricular activities quiet. Itwas a dastardly win-win.
Cisco, following a tip about some sort established metahumansafe haven, posed as a sort of psychic to make his money. He had a smallapartment off the beaten track, hiding out for the time being. He’d venturedout in an attempt to find some news on the online metahuman network thatFelicity had helped create when Sage came out of an apartment across from him. Heoffered her a meager dinner of Twizzlers and Skittles and a place to stay forthe night. They’d traveled together ever since; her plotting and charting theircourse and him creating and executing escape plans. When Sage announced thatmorning that she wanted to drop back into Central City—Zone Zero as PresidentEiling dubbed it—Cisco thought she had lost her mind. Or had a death wish.
Or maybe both.
“I had to come back,” Sage said. “Last time I saw Barry—” Shestopped at Iris’s visible flinching. Ofcourse. She mentally punched herself for bringing him up. But he was the reasonthey were there, she had to see this mission through. For him. “Um. He asked meto give you something. And I wanted to see you. Just in case…”
Iris hesitated. Her eyes went down to watch Sage’s hand asshe dug in her pocket and then held something out to her. Her grip on theshotgun loosened slightly. Iris reached out her hand, her fingers twitching, turned her palm upwards. Sage’s fingers unfurled.
—Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Fugitives MH013T and MH011T! We know you’re in there!Surrender now!” A loud voice came in through the front door.
“Shit,” Iris uttered. She picked up her gun, pointing thesight straight at the door, and held it up to her shoulder. “Get out of here,”she ordered.
“But what about you?” Sage asked.
“I’ll be fine,” Iris replied. When Sage and Cisco didn’tmove Iris barked, “Move. Now!”
“Iris—”
“It’ll be worse for you two if they catch you here. I have achance…” Iris held Sage’s gaze. Her words softened. “It’s okay. I’ll be okay.”
Sage pressed her lips together and nodded. She held up herhand and shot a blast of ice around the door, sealing it to the doorframe inone thick layer. That’d give her a little more time to prepare. But just incase… Sage dug into her bag and removed the arrow she was looking for. Shecarefully tucked it between the belt and the waistband of Iris’s pants. “It’sone of Oliver’s trick arrows…just in case you need it.” She then stood on hertiptoes and pressed a kiss to Iris’s cheek. Uttering a soft goodbye, she rushedto Cisco’s side as a stray bullet shot through the door.
The last things Sage heard as they jumped through Cisco’sbreech were two things:
The sound of Iris pulling back the slide action on hershotgun
and
the sound of the engagement ring Barry had trusted her topass along hitting the hardwood floor.
——-
Note: Originally this was going to be a comedic take but then this idea hit me and I had to do it instead. A dystopian-like version of Central City is something I would love to see on the show. I hope you enjoyed this anon!
