The Power of Transition

Fall is an obvious time of transition. The leaves change colors, the grass stops growing, and the world prepares for a time of winter. Here at Noah Project, we serve women, men, their children, and unaccompanied youth who  are also in a time of transition and preparation. Transition from the abusive and dangerous situations of their past and preparing for a new future is well represented by the changes we see take place between fall and winter.

Fall has always been my favorite season, but with a hesitation because I knew after fall, winter was coming.  Sometimes the transitional season isn’t nearly as hard as living day to day in a new situation.

At Noah Project, we recognize this and are so thankful for groups and individuals that see this truth as well. This includes groups like the Mary Kay consultants who faithfully come and teach self-care skills to our clients, helping them build confidence and showering them with love and affection to equip them for their future.

A group of the consultants who had volunteered at several of the self-care classes let us know about a grant that the Mary Kay Foundation offers to domestic violence and sexual assault shelters and suggested that we apply.  Last week we were incredibly blessed to receive a $20,000 check from the Mary Kay Foundation!

The support, passion and generosity of our community towards ending domestic violence and sexual assault is what allows Noah Project to empower victims to become survivors, and we are so thankful to be working towards that end together.
