Oh god, I've been so excited to show this The Matrix piece to everyone. It's a gift for an exchange that is happening at a neotrin server and I got a prompt of Trinity in chainmail that sorta goes into this Knight!Trinity pipeline, an idea that everyone in the server really dig? So I just went all out on it.
Of course I have to draw Princess Neo. And yes, if you're noticing, Neo's outfit draws huge inspo from Shoujo Kakumei Utena, mixed with his original M2 outfit.
I put a lot of dear dedication while doing this and I'm glad everybody, including the person I'm giving this to, loves it. This is something 13 year old me could only ever dream drawing and lo and behold lil' Miu, you did this 💕 Takes 21 years lol but definitely worth it.
I created a playlist specifically to help me draw this, which filled with 2000s magical girl-esque anime songs, Madoka Magica OST (and many other Yuki Kajiura works) and of course with Rinbu ~ REVOLUTION by Masami Okui leading the track. Listen to it here if you want to.

In 1999, when I was a senior in high school, my buddy G (now my oldest friend, we've known each other almost 30 years) was trying to get me into J-Pop, having recently succeeded in dragging me into watching anime. To do this, he sent me a song he thought I'd like that he had an mp3 of, a Masami Okui song titled Rinbu Revolution.
I really really really loved this song.
So I went to try to find more things like it, turning to the early internet search engines of the time.
I searched for "Masami Okui." There were zero results. Okay, I figured, there must be a typo in the singer's name. I'll try the song title.
I searched for "Rinbu Revolution." There were still zero results.
Clearly, the song existed. I could fricken listen to it! But whoever labeled the mp3 did *such a bad job* that both the singer AND the song title were wrong. Which meant I had no idea what song it was. I couldn't find it if I lost the file, couldn't listen to it elsewhere, could only access it with one horribly misidentified mp3.
I've taken that mp3, and a number of other irreplaceable J-Pop mp3s from c. 2000, from computer to computer with me ever since. I couldn't risk losing them. If my copy of Kiroro doing an off-track version of Nagori Yuki is lost I will literally never be able to hear it again in my life, and so I carefully cherish them.
But sometimes life surprises you.
A few days ago, a friend on Mastodon posted a video to the opening of Utena (which I never got around to watching more than a couple episodes of), and the title of the video was "Rondo - Revolution."
And without even opening it, having not heard a note, I knew: that was my unknown song. It HAD to be. So of course I looked it up, and yes. Masami Okui was the lyricist - information far to obscure to search up with the amount of internet their was in 1999. The song title was just. Wrong. But I'd found my song, after 25 years of not looking because I just assumed it was impossible.
Anyway, Rondo - Revolution, sung by Mikuni Shimokawa, just played on my Pandora. For the first time in well over a decade, since I last regularly used an iPod to listen to my mp3s, I heard this song that I thought I'd never hear again except in my own computer files.
And idk. I'm not going anywhere with this really. I'm just feeling Some Kinda Way about finding lost things we aren't even looking for, and sometimes the internet isn't the worst actually, and I'm so glad I have weird quirky friends who like the same 30 year old weird quirky stuff that I do.

Time for a couple of my own TAWOG Hot Takes!!
Basically uh, I'm bored, TAWOG is playing in the background, and it's too dark to draw bacause it's 4 in the morning and I haven't slept. So let's go!! 1: Leslie, Masami, Juke & Bobert actually had *really good* human designs in The Inquisition. Kind of a shame to watch them go, though the way the animators un-humanized Leslie was pretty awesome. 2: Leslie is absolute GOLD. I mean, good writing, funny episodes, and did anyone else notice that he was in the treehouse with the girls in the first season (forgot episode name)? I thought that was a nice little detail, and it may have been because it wasn't decided if he was going to be male or female yet, but I still think it's a nice little touch that honestly is one of the reasons I like Leslie. 3: The Fury is... overrated. The animation is good and all, and I suppose Yuki's pretty cool, but... it's just missing something to me. Also, at the time of writing this, I can't guarantee it won't be the only actual hot take. 4. Whew, uhh... I think and very well suspect that Penny was *meant* to be metaphorical to being trans. I mean, the shell was kind of like the closet, and then she "came out of her shell..." could very well be a metaphor to being bolder, and more open about herself, but hhhhhilikethefirstthingtoomuch 5. They made Rob too smart for a 13 year old. How, exactly, does a kid, a *literal child,* have a major in Canadian History? And know how to blow up a dang bus? thats all dont burn me on a stake because of these goofy ahh opinions that i wrote at one in the morning

A3! OCs - Relationships
aight here's another one
Yasu
gets along well with Massu (if "vibing in the same space without interacting much but enjoying it" counts as getting along)
likes reading with Muku and talking about what they've both read
literally cannot escape being Banri's kouhai, first at Hana High and then at Amabi (it's even worse since they're technically majoring in the same thing), he's very intimidated by him
once he gets into Veludo Arts, he starts trusting Kazu a lot, he likes working around him and is slowly learning about how he can trust him
finds Guy's presence comforting and goes to him whenever there's something he can't understand about people
Clubs/Link Skill Groups: Shoujo Manga Club
Etsuko
she really admires Chikage and Hiso both, and she holds Chikage as a role model (it goes as well as you'd imagine)
adores Yuki and often consults him about clothes, sometimes they quietly work together, sometimes she just listens to him rant , sometimes they bitch together
likes being around Sakuya, even if she can't completely open up to him, she feels like she won't be judged around him, she'd kill for him (whether that's an exaggeration is up for interpretation)
often talks to Taichi about girls and trends when she needs to de-stress
Clubs/Link Skill Groups: Lone Wolves + Sweet Tooths
Castel
good friends with Banri, but never leave the two of them on their own (they'll either get into a nasty fight or get into trouble together)
classmates + study buddies with Tsuzuru
Juza's senpai (no i will never live down the fact that Juza is canonically studying literature in uni)
Stray cat lover with Sumi, Hiso and Muku,
Enjoys Kazu's presence a lot, he helps them get out of their shell very naturally
They get along really well with Tetsuro and Akashi, they work very well as a team even with little to no verbal communication
Clubs/Link Skill Groups: Spicy Food Society
Eli
Ex-delinquent buddies with Omi; he knows Omi's healed more than he has, but he still feels like he has to take care of him and help him
Looks up to Sakyo because he thinks he's put together, and he can see how much he cares for everyone at the company (also they share their incapacity to DO SOMETHING TO FURTHER THE RS WITH THE ONE THEY LOVE smh)
He often talks to Homare about poetry and their fave authors (also sometimes shares what he's written with him)
feels paternalistic towards a lot of the younger actors, but mostly Massu and Tenma
Clubs/Link Skill Groups: Ex-gangsters + Artistes
Masami
since she hasn't become that close to the company, she doesn't have many relationships but
She's really really thankful towards Izumi for taking care of Yasu
Looks up to Sakyo and hopes one day she can have the guts to show up and face what she gave up on life like he did
Occasionally talks to Kazu and Juza, looks up to them as big siblings, and is very thankful for Kazu looking out for Yasu at uni
Daiki
Tsuzuru and Juza's (and Castel's) professor, so it's awkward for those two whenever he stops by Mankai
Azuma's drinking buddy + former occasional client
Finds Citron really fun and interesting, loves to hear his stories
Homare and this man vibe together like they've known each other their whole lives, they have conversations than only the two of them can follow, absolute best friends, also huge appreciators of the arts together
He actually knew Tadoru before Mankai formed, they're casual friends
Clubs/Link Skill Groups: Literary Club + Frequent Flyers
