"Little Women" Posthumous Reunion: Final Resting Places of the People Behind the Novel and Its Adaptations
As a fan of the YouTube channel Hollywood Graveyard and the "Posthumous Reunion" pages on FindAGrave.com, I thought I would make a similar tribute to the people behind Little Women and its best-known screen adaptations. This is a guide to the burial sites (if they exist) of all the adaptations' leading actors and creative team members who have died, as well as those of the Alcott family and their friends, for anyone who hopes to visit them someday.

I love you even when I’m upset
Summary: Part 4! Mason is upset after the euros final, and Y/N tries to comfort him.
Warnings: possibly slightly angsty, curse words again (whoops), euros final scenes :( also Declan needs to read the room!!!
She was on top of the world seeing her best friend play in the euros. Even more so when she was allowed to go to the stadium to watch him. He had send her a shirt with his name and number on it, and she wore it with pride and joy as she watched him play. She had even drawn English flags on her cheeks, although she had accidentally smudged them before the game even began. Still, she had the time of her life, singing with all the fans and cheering Mason on.
However, all that joy went away when that last penalty was saved by the Italian keeper. Her eyes welled up with tears as the stadium fell dead silent and the whole team looked utterly defeated. But seeing Mason cry on that field, when she was unable to comfort him? That shattered her heart.
Long after the game had ended and most fans had left, she made her way to the front of the stands in hopes of catching her best friend there. Luckily Declan saw her and quickly pointed Mason towards her direction.
“Mase I’m so sorry.” She said as he finally stood in front of her.
“S’alright. Not much you can do.” He shrugged. It was evident that he had been crying, still sniffling his nose, but he tried not to let on how much losing affected him as he looked at his feet disinterestedly.
“Stop that, Mason. I know you’re upset. You don’t have to hide that from me.”
When he didn’t reply immediately, instead focusing on kicking the grass pollens before him, she spoke up again.
“Do you need a hug?” She offered, her arms already stretched out towards him.
“I’m all sweaty, Y/N.” He looked at her incredulously as if she was crazy for wanting to hug him right now.
“As if I care. Just come here and let me comfort you.”
"I don’t need comforting. I’m fine.” Her arms fell back to her sides.
“Okay. Sorry.”
“Okay? What did you call me here for, then? This isn’t helping.” His voice was raspier than usual, and his brows furrowed in annoyance as he snapped at her.
“God, I know that, Mason. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better. But there isn’t, is there? I can tell you how amazing you are, that you worked really hard and played exceptionally every single game, that you deserved to win. I can also tell you that you’re still young, and you’re not even at the peak of your career and that trophy will come one day. But none of that is gonna make you feel any better because you already know all that and it doesn’t even matter right now. I just- Fuck I don’t know. I just don’t want you to be upset, Mase.”
Somewhere in the middle of her little speech, his features softened. Hearing her speak with so much passion about him made his heart flutter, and his eyes gaze at her adoringly. Of course she was right: he knew what she said was true and honestly it didn’t matter what she said, just hearing her talk made his mind feel at ease.
“Sorry I snapped at you.”
“S’okay.” She shrugged her shoulders.
“Will you still hug me?”
“Of course, silly.” She said back, grinning at him as they embraced. He was right about being sweaty, but she really didn’t care. With his arms wrapped securely around her waist and hers around his neck, his head resting on her shoulder, he felt all the tension disappear.
They parted from their embrace, but Y/N held her arms around his neck and pulled him in to touch his forehead against hers.
“You mean the world to me, Mase. I can’t bear to see you so upset.” Her eyes were closed as she confessed it, but Mason was looking right at her. At the way her lips moved with every whispered word, the way he could see the freckles that adorned her cheeks even through the smudged England flags, and how he could feel her steady breath on his lips.
He guessed it a while before now, but he couldn’t be more sure of his feelings than he was in this moment. Stood there touching foreheads with his best friend. He was in love with her. And fuck it all if this wasn’t the right moment to say it.
“Y/N. I- “
But his whispered about-to-be-confession was interrupted by Declan whistling at the two of them as he jogged towards the pair, and Y/N quickly opened her eyes and took a small step back from Mason.
“Hey Mase, team gathering now, gotta get you there too. Y/N, looking lovely as always.” Declan greeted the both of them, and subsequently ruined Mason’s moment. Their moment. He rolled his eyes internally at his guy best friend.
But she had no idea what he was about to say, so she just ushered him to go.
“Facetime later?” She asked hopefully.
“Facetime later.” He confirmed as Declan pulled him with him to the team.

I love you where love is celebrated
Summary: Part 3 of the series already! Y/N accompanies Mason to a wedding.
Warnings: wedding scenes, some curse words probably. Mason’s mother knows too much and Mason can’t tie a tie for his life :p
“Y/N, sweetie, it’s so good to see you again.” Mason’s mother greeted her as they hugged briefly.
“You too. Mason will be down any second.” She notified his mother. They’d come to his cousin’s wedding together, Mason stating that he had to bring a date or all his relatives would nag him about getting a girlfriend. Seeing as she had met most of his family already, and didn’t mind spending a weekend with her usually very busy best friend, she agreed. So far they had spent most of the rehearsal dinners joined at the hip.
But now Mason was still in their shared hotel room for the weekend, no doubt still doing his hair. How he took longer than her to get ready was a mystery to all.
“I was hoping he’d come with a girlfriend, but I guess he isn’t ready to ask yet.”
“I’m sorry, she’s had too much already.” Mason’s father interjected his wife. She took another sip of her wine in silent protest, which earned her a laugh from her husband.
Y/N made a mental note to ask Mason about what his mother meant later. She smiled fondly as she watched his parents laugh together. They had found true love, and it made her wonder if she’d have the same kind of loving, goofy relationship in 30 or so years.
But those thoughts were interrupted as someone tapped on her shoulder.
She turned around to see Mason standing in front of her. He was wearing a dark suit with a white dress shirt and a tie that matched her dress. His hair was gelled back and he had a lazy grin on his face. Fuck, he looked hot.
“Well, well, look who decided to show up.” She said, grinning.
“Takes a while to look this good.” The wink he sent her way almost made her forget her comeback.
“Really? Looking this good comes natural to me.”
He chuckled as he went in to hug her.
“You do look beautiful, you know.” He whispered in her ear as they parted again, her hands coming down from around his neck to rest on his chest.
He meant it too. Her dress complimented her figure beautifully, and her hair and make-up were done to perfection. He had seen her in sweats with her hair up in a messy bun and thought she was gorgeous then, but now she looked truly breath-taking.
“Your tie is a bit crooked though.”
“Are you kidding me? I redid it like five times.” He said as he threw his head back in frustration.
He felt her fingers wrap around his tie then, and when he looked back at her, her eyes were trained on his tie, fixing it for him. He couldn’t help but admire her. How attentive she was, and how cute she looked when she was focused. It didn’t even take her long to fix his tie for him.
“There, all set.” She stated as she put it into place for him.
“A woman that can tie a tie, every man’s dream.” He joked before thanking her.
Lucky for her all guests were asked to attend the ceremony just then, so that she could walk towards their seats and Mason wouldn’t see the blush that adorned her cheeks at his compliment.
The ceremony was beautiful. Mason and her sat together as the brides spoke about their love for each other. Halfway through she had reached across her armrest to absentmindedly stroke his forearm that was exposed due to his rolled up sleeve. He was well aware of her touch. It was gentle and sweet, and he felt the need to hold her hand in his instead.
So he turned his hand open for her to take. As their fingers intertwined they listened to the words of love and admiration from the brides. He wondered if a moment between them had ever felt so right before.
And when it was finally time for the kiss, and everyone stood up to applaud the newlyweds, he had to reluctantly let go of her hand to applaud too.
Was he supposed to feel this way about his best friend?
Fuck.
Was he in love with her?

I love you out loud
Summary: Last part of the miniseries!! The new season starts and Mason has to leave after spending his holidays with Y/N. Feelings are accidentally revealed in the process.
Note: aahhh it’s the last part! Inspiration doesn’t often strike me like this and I’m so happy it was well received :) thanks everyone for reading ! Hope you enjoy this last part too💙
Warnings: Mason’s mum makes a guest appearance again, some curse words as always and *feelingssss*
Mason was hurrying around the house trying to gather all his things for the first training of the season. After the euros and his holidays, she had spend most of her time at his house. But now it was time for him to start training at Cobham again, and she was there to wave him goodbye. It was their little ritual for when he started a new season; they would have one last day together to eat all the snacks that he wasn’t allowed to eat when the season started again, before they would say their goodbyes as his family picked him up so they could say goodbye too. It was the last day they had together before getting back to their respective busy lives.
But now it was time for Mason to leave, and he was running around the house trying to find everything he needed, while she was waiting amusedly for him.
“Okay, Y/N I think I have everything.” He finally said as he came jogging down the stairs with his training bag.
“Good, I was thinking I’d have to sit here all day waiting for you.”
“Oh shut it, you. You could’ve helped me look for my stuff too, we’d have more time left together.”
“Now, what would be the fun in that?” She laughed with him and ruffled his hair as he sat down next to her on the couch, putting the bag down beside him. Truth is, she didn’t want him to leave so soon. Their time together this year was the best time they’d had together, and she felt they had grown closer over everything that happened.
Unbeknownst to her, Mason felt the same. If he could extend the start of his season a bit, he would do it in a heartbeat just so he could spend more time with her. As much as he loved football, he had come to find out that he loved her too, and maybe even more so than his love for the sport. Although he had thought of telling her, he ultimately decided against it. With both of their lives being so busy, and him not even sure if she reciprocated his feelings, he figured it was best not to risk their friendship.
“I can’t believe the new season’s already starting. It feels like these holidays went by way too quickly.” She sighed as she broke their silence.
“I know.”
“Are you excited?”
“Maybe. I’m happy to see everyone again, hopefully get the groove back on for the first game” he chuckled. “but I could’ve used a couple more days off.”
She was about to agree, when his phone pinged with a text from his mum saying they were almost there.
“Well, I guess it’s really time for me to go now.” He spoke sadly as both of them stood up.
They both walked towards the front door, and she leaned against the doorframe as he stepped outside.
“Good luck, Mase.” She called out softly after him.
“Good luck? For training? I think I’ll manage, Y/N.” He laughed at her.
“Oh, shush you. Just accept it.” She rolled her eyes, a smile forming on her lips nonetheless.
“Fine. Thanks.” He deadpanned. “I gotta go now, I love you.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, both of them froze. He turned around with a shocked expression on his face, cheeks flushed and eyes slightly wide. Neither of them had ever said ‘I love you’ before. They expressed their love without saying it, just by being there for each other. Besides, Mason’s reaction to his own words told her that they had more than just a friendly undertone.
“Y/N- I’m so sorry I take that back.” He said as he panicked.
“You.. You take it back?” She questioned. He was looking anywhere but her right now, only nodding slowly at her question.
“Well, if you take it back than I won’t say it back either.” She said matter-of-factly.
The speed with which he turned around to look her right in the eyes, his mouth agape with pure shock, was almost comical if it hadn’t been for his previous confession.
“Would you.. Wait what?” He spluttered out.
He took a step forward quickly as he realised what she meant, his hands reaching out for her waist.
“I won’t take it back.” He whispered then, his eyes focused on hers.
“I love you too, Mase.” She whispered back, a smile taking over his features at her confession. Never in a million years would he have guessed she would feel the same, that this would ever happen. And now here they are.
And as they’re looking into each other’s eyes, both leaning in to finally, finally, kiss for the first time, a loud car honk broke them apart.
“Oh my god! I called it!” His mother yelled from the open car window from the car that was now stood in front of Mason’s house.
Mason threw his head back and let out a low groan in frustration as his mother interrupted their moment, while she just laughed at the whole situation. This was completely surreal.
“Well. I guess I really have to go now. Sorry about her.” He said as he pointed to his mum, looking at her apologetically.
“S’okay.” She smiled up at him. If it wasn’t for him now being painfully aware of his mum being there, he would get lost into her beautiful eyes. He’s still awestruck by the fact that she actually likes him back. Hell, she loves him.
“So. Goodbye, Y/N.” He says after clearing his throat, before awkwardly waving at her as he walked towards the car.
“Mase?” She called out sweetly. He turned around with a hopeful expression. Did she still want to kiss him?
“You forgot your training bag.”
“Fuck.”

I love you when you need me to
Summary: Part 2 of the miniseries. Y/N is upset and Mason hates seeing her like that.
Warnings: crying, symptoms of a mental breakdown, the odd curse word again.
He could just about make out the soft ringing of his doorbell through the sound of the heavy rain consistently hitting his windows.
He hurried to open the door to the poor soul that had to stand there in the pouring rain while it was already dark out. But he never expected it to be her. And he surely never expected her to be crying. It was evident even through the raindrops that ran down her face and soaked her hair and clothes. Pieces of hair stuck to her forehead and cheeks, her eyes wide and red - no doubt from crying - and her lips quivering. He’d never seen her look so broken before.
“Mase. Mase it’s all just too much. Everything is too much. And I- I didn’t know what to do and then I ran here and I- ” She stuttered frantically before a sob escaped her lips and she raised her hands up to her face to hide her tears.
“Fuck, Y/N. Hey, c’mere.” He pulled her inside and wrapped his arms around her frame. Screw getting his clothes wet if she was this upset. They stood there in his doorway for what felt like hours. His grip on her was tight, as if letting her know he was there for her. His hands soothingly rubbing circles on her back, his chin resting upon the top of her head as he momentarily bent down to place a kiss on her head.
And she kept on crying. Her whole body shook with every sob, every erratic breath that she took. It was heart breaking to him. He held her even closer, whispered sweet nothings in her ear in hopes of calming her down. He just wanted to take her pain away.
Finally she calmed down enough to steady her breathing. Her hands that had covered her face the whole time, came down as she wrapped her arms around Mason instead - just as firm as he did.
“Sorry for crying. And getting you wet.” Her words were barely above a whisper and sounded muffled against the material of his hoodie. A shaky breath followed them, too. She was always so cheery and optimistic, and it broke his heart to see her like this.
“Hey, it’s okay. Do you wanna stay here tonight? I’ll get you some dry clothes.” He offered as he broke their embrace, albeit still rubbing her back reassuringly.
She nodded, still not looking at him, as she tried to dry her cheeks with her sleeves that were still damp from the rain.
“Hey.” His whisper made her look up at him, and he used the opportunity to wipe her cheeks with his still mostly dry sleeves.
“You’ll be alright, darling.”
“Thanks, Mase. You’re the best.” A weak smile formed on her lips, and although it didn’t quite reach her eyes, he was more than happy to see her smile again.
He’d do anything to make her happy.
