I'm trying to find fashion inspiration for outfits to wear to all the holiday parties coming up. It's hard to find anything outside of oversized sweaters and form fitting dresses. I like these looks, I really like the exposed belly trend/idea. I'm already a little oven ♨️ it would probably feel nice and keep me cool having my belly out. Plus I think it's cute! What do y'all think?

Richie Grainge made her biggest red carpet appearance while pregnant to date when attending 2024's Grammy Awards. The 25-year-old was chic personified in the slightly caped, black gown from Saint Laurent. The model cradled her bump in pictures, with her hair in a neat bun.
Something about the regal look gave us a major flashback to Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex's royal style while pregnant with baby Archie.

Ok but we need to talk about how cute 1940's maternity clothes were/are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I found photos and fashion between the 20's and 60's, so I hope I got the right pictures. But seriously, look at these clothes! I'd wear them, even if I wasn't pregnant! They look so comfortable ^^
If my research is correct, the reason why the clothes were more free flowing is because pregnancy was considered a 'taboo' subject. So the clothes were designed to make the woman look as slim as possible and not draw attention to her changing body. In some cases, I can see this being a good thing, but in others, I can see it being a bad thing.
It's good that the clothes are more loose and don't constrict the woman's body, not to mention some women might enjoy the extra privacy of hiding the baby bump (I know I would). On the other hand, it can promote shame for their changing body and the pregnancy itself. As seen in the Maternity Fashion Do's and Don'ts Guide I found underneath.

Again, this is if my limited research is correct. I could very easily be wrong. I just wanted to share my discovery with you guys.
On a happier note, please, please look at this photo of this expecting couple I found! They look so sweet together!!! And of course, her dress is on point!

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I LOVE Catherine’s maternity style. Maybe it’s the shorter hems she tends to go for while pregnant, I’m not sure, but all her maternity looks are among my favourites!
It's not just you, Her maternity style has always been top notch. Some of my favourite looks of hers have been during the same. And she looks so adorable in the dresses too while she's pregnant with her cute little bump. I do think that's a factor in it. What's ur top choice from all her maternity looks? For me it will be the peach dress and matching coat from her Naomi House visit in terms of her daywear.
