WEC: Alpine Hypercar of Mick Schumacher shown

Alpine not just presented it's new F1 car today, they also showed their new LMDh car, for the FIA WEC, with it's final livery to the world. The team iwent into focus, because Mick Schumacher, son of the legendary Michael Schumacher, will drive for the team this year. He will be pilot of the number 36 car. His two teammates, he shares the car with, are Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxiviere. The number 35 car will be driven by Ferdinand Habsburg, Paul-Loup Chatin and Charles Milesi.

The car is called Alpine A424 and is using the LMDh regulations. Chassis partner is Oreca, and the engine is a turbocharged 3,4 liter Mecachrome one with the standard LMDh hybrid system by Bosch.

DJILSI VE MANON, IKI GERÇEK ALPINIST!

En ünlü Fransızca konuşan dijital içerik yaratıcılarından bazılarının yer aldığı bu ilk motor yarışı için Alpine, sürekli zorluk arayışında olan iki etkileyici olan Djilsi ve Manon Lanza ekibini desteklemeyi seçti. Beş günlük eğitimden sonra, her ikisi de serbest uygulama sırasında yavaş yavaş rulmanlarını buldular. Alpine Returns for the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship 

Launched in 2013, Alpine's contemporary endurance racing program has enjoyed success and is poised to meet new challenges. After two European crowns in the ELMS, two world titles in the FIA WEC and three prestigious wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Alpine made a remarkable return to the elite category of a discipline in which it has written some of the most glorious pages in its history.

True to its DNA, Alpine has met the challenges in its move up to the Hypercar category. Entrusted to the talented operations team led by Signatech and the trio of Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão and Matthieu Vaxiviere, the Alpine A480 quickly established itself as the sole rival of the title holders, extending the battle to the season-finale in Bahrain.

Building on this first campaign rich in valuable lessons, Alpine Elf Endurance Team is banking on stability this year to reach new heights at the top level.

2021 FIA World Endurance Championship runner-up, the team will welcome back Nicolas Lapierre, a key figure in the success of the A-arrowed brand in 2016 and 2019. The Frenchman will also reunite with Brazilian André Negrão, a two-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, who has been with Les Bleus since 2017, and his countryman Matthieu Vaxiviere, who confirmed all his talent since his debut with Alpine.

As in 2021, the three drivers will have only one target: to give their all in the six-round calendar to take Alpine to the summit despite the ever-increasing competition in the elite category. 2022 will also be the opportunity to prepare for the future Alpine LMDh, designed around an Oreca chassis and an Alpine engine developed in Viry-Châtillon, which will race in the Hypercar category from 2024.

The #36 Alpine A480 team will launch its campaign at Sebring (United States) during the official FIA WEC prologue on 12-13 March before the first race of the season at the same circuit on March 18, 2022.

EQUIPA ALPINE ELF MATMUT ENDURANCE PRONTA PARA A TEMPORADA DE 2021 DO CAMPEONATO FIA WEC

A equipa Alpine Endurance apresentou o novo carro com que irá participar no Campeonato do Mundo de Resistência (WEC) da FIA, com uma prova disputada em Portugal: as 8 Horas de Portimão, a 13 de junho. O Alpine A480 é um protótipo construído com base num chassis Oreca, equipado com um motor 4.5 V8 fornecido pela Gibson Technology. Integrado na categoria rainha do campeonato, o A480 será pilotado por Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão e Matthieu Vaxiviere. A Alpine tem um palmarés invejável nas provas de resistência e agora enfrenta o desafio de entrar na categoria de topo da Campeonato do Mundo de Resistência e das míticas 24H de Le Mans de 2021. Como o desafio assumido na Fórmula 1, o novo projeto ligado às corridas de resistência, espelha as ambições de uma marca, nascida na competição, pela competição.

Já aprovado pela Federação Internacional do Automóvel (FIA) como Alpine A480, o protótipo é construído com base num chassis desenvolvido pela Oreca e motorizado por um V8 de 4,5 litros fornecido pela Gibson Technology. É ainda equipado com pneus da Michelin, de acordo com os regulamentos estabelecidos para a classe de Hipercarros.

Aos comandos do A480 estarão os experientes Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão e Matthieu Vaxiviere, pilotos que estarão em Portugal, por ocasião das 8 Horas de Portimão, a 13 de junho.

A equipa será gerida por Philipe Sinault, Chefe de Equipa, como tem sido desde 2014 e que resultou em inúmeros sucessos na classe LMP2.

Schumacher's attitude a 'positive surprise', says WEC team-mate Lapierre

Sportscar racing veteran Nicolas Lapierre says he was "positively surprised" by Alpine team-mate Mick Schumachers attitude from the first day the German stepped into a World Endurance Championship hypercar.

Former Haas Formula 1 racer and current Mercedes reserve Schumacher showed a desire to adjust himself to the multi-driver format of sportscar racing instead of going out for individual glory, according to four-time Le Mans 24 Hours class winner Lapierre. "When Mick came to his first test, it was in Jerez," said Schumacher’s Alpine teammate, Lapierre. "For me, when drivers come in from single-seaters, even more Formula 1, there are two options. Either he wants to be a real sportscar driver, share the car and work with his teammates, or he just wants to shine. I was very positively surprised with Mick since day one. He really wanted to work as a team, and it suits him quite good, as well. And his pace was straight away very fast. This we knew [already]; we had no doubt about this. The only thing now is to have a little bit of traffic management and this kind of stuff, because this is very new [to him]." Schumacher first got a chance to test the Alpine A424 LMDh last October and impressed the French manufacturer enough to earn a seat in its line-up for the 2024 season, joining team stalwarts Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxiviere aboard the #36 car. Prior to his Hypercar move, the German driver spent two seasons competing in F1 with Haas from 2021-22, scoring a best finish of sixth on his second visit to the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix. He remains on Mercedes' books in a reserve role in 2024 and, if required, can be called in by the Brackley-based squad even on WEC race weekends. Lapierre believes Schumacher's experience of working with the title-winning Mercedes F1 squad helps bring a new perspective to the Signatech-run Alpine team. "He is bringing some good stuff from Formula 1 because he is working with one of the best teams on the Formula 1 grid," he said, "so this brings us some fresh ideas, some new feedback, which has also been very helpful in this project." Schumacher spent the 2023 season on the sidelines after being dropped by Haas in 2023 in favour of countryman Nico Hulkenberg, electing not to compete in any other category during his first year out of F1. The German driver reiterated that he is looking for comeback opportunities in grand prix racing, but made it clear his current focus is on his Hypercar programme with Alpine. "I'm here now. What the future holds is quite difficult to predict and foresee," said the 24-year-old. "Obviously my focus for now is WEC, but I would be lying if I would say that I don't have an eye on Formula 1. There are a lot of things happening right now. Who knows what opportunities are presented to myself in a couple of months' time. I will deal with that when it's time." Schumacher, Lapierre and Vaxiviere finished twelfth overall in Saturday's opening round of WEC in Qatar, three laps down on the winning #6 Porsche Penske LMDh of Laurens Vanthoor, Kevin Estre and Andre Lotterer. Alpine stable-mates Paul-Loup Chatin, Ferdinand Habsburg and Charles Milesi scored points in eighth place aboard the #5 Alpine A424 to lead a successful return to Hypercar for the French manufacturer. "We had the pace to fight for the points, which was a bit unexpected, so we can be happy about it and proud of ourselves," said Schumacher. "It’s great the sister car managed to score."

Após ter regressado ao desporto automóvel em 2013, a Alpine prepara-se para a sua nona campanha consecutiva em provas de resistência. A marca irá cumprir a sua segunda temporada na categoria rainha do Campeonato Mundial de Resistência da FIA (FIA WEC) após seis pódios em seis corridas - incluindo um terceiro lugar nas 24 Horas de Le Mans - no seu primeiro ano na classe Hypercar. Campeã de 2016 e 2019 e três vezes vencedora das 24 Horas de Le Mans em LMP2, a equipa Alpine Elf Endurance Team renova a confiança no alinhamento de pilotos formado por Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão e Matthieu Vaxiviere.

Lançado em 2013, o programa contemporâneo de corridas de resistência da Alpine tem sido um verdadeiro sucesso e está preparado para enfrentar novos desafios. Após duas vitórias europeias no ELMS, dois títulos mundiais no WEC da FIA e três prestigiosas vitórias nas 24 Horas de Le Mans, a Alpine fez um notável regresso à categoria de elite de uma disciplina em que escreveu algumas das páginas mais gloriosas da sua história.

Fiel ao seu ADN, a Alpine enfrentou os desafios na sua passagem para a categoria Hypercar. Vice-campeã do Campeonato Mundial de Resistência da FIA em 2021, a equipa acolherá de volta Nicolas Lapierre, uma figura-chave no sucesso da marca do “A em forma de seta” (A-arrowed) em 2016 e 2019. O francês irá também reunir-se com o brasileiro André Negrão, duas vezes vencedor das 24 Horas de Le Mans, que está com Os Azúis (Les Bleus) desde 2017, e com o seu compatriota Matthieu Vaxiviere, que confirmou todo o seu talento desde que fez a sua estreia com a Alpine.

Tal como em 2021, os três pilotos terão apenas um objetivo: dar tudo por tudo no calendário de seis provas para levar os Alpine ao cume, apesar da competição cada vez mais renhida na categoria de elite. 2022 também marcará a oportunidade de se prepararem para o futuro Alpine LMDh, concebido em torno de um chassis Oreca e de um motor Alpine desenvolvido em Viry-Châtillon, que correrá na categoria de Hypercarros a partir de 2024.  

A equipa #36 Alpine A480 iniciará a sua campanha em Sebring (Estados Unidos) durante o prólogo oficial do WEC FIA a 12-13 de Março, antes da primeira corrida da temporada no mesmo circuito a 18 de Março.
