The 24 Hours of Le Mans is by far the most prestigious event in endurance racing. For 2025, the Hypercar category brings together the most advanced hybrid prototypes ever developed, with entries from global manufacturers under two distinct rule sets: Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) and Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh).

These are the top contenders for the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, machines that represent the forefront of hybrid endurance racing technology.

The BMW M Hybrid V8. Built under LMDh rules, it features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with a standardized hybrid system. Power is electronically capped at 680 horsepower, as per class regulations. Built on a Dallara chassis, BMW joined the WEC in 2024, aiming for overall victory in 2025.

The Ferrari 499P, a factory-built LMH car. It uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 mid-mounted, coupled with a front-axle hybrid motor for all-wheel drive. Like all entries in this category, it produces a combined 680 horsepower. After winning Le Mans in 2023, Ferrari remains a key contender.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH enters in 2025. Based on the road-going Valkyrie, it features a high-revving 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 developed by Cosworth and a hybrid system. Despite the unique powertrain, total output stays within the regulated 680 horsepower limit.

Porsche’s 963 runs under LMDh regulations. It uses a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 derived from the RS Spyder, paired with a spec hybrid system, delivering a combined 680 horsepower. The chassis is supplied by Multimatic, and the car continues Porsche’s legacy in endurance racing.

Peugeot’s 9X8 brings bold design choices, most notably a no-rear-wing aerodynamic concept. It’s powered by a 2.6-liter twin-turbo V6 and a front-mounted electric motor. Like its LMH rivals, it runs with 680 horsepower and all-wheel drive above 150 kilometers per hour.

Toyota’s GR010 Hybrid has been the benchmark since 2021. It features a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 and a front-mounted electric motor, activated above certain speeds. The hybrid system helps deliver exactly 680 horsepower, balancing reliability and performance.

The Cadillac V-Series.R, competing under LMDh rules, uses a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8. It’s paired with the standardized hybrid system and mounted on a Dallara chassis. Known for its durability and aggressive sound, power is limited to 680 horsepower.

The new Alpine A424 is Alpine’s first LMDh entry. It’s powered by a 3.4-liter turbocharged V6 and a spec hybrid unit, built on an Oreca chassis. Like its competitors, the A424 is tuned to the FIA-mandated 680 horsepower limit. Designed in collaboration with Signatech, it marks Alpine’s serious push for overall victory.

All nine of these prototypes are engineered to deliver maximum performance within tightly controlled regulations. With equalized power outputs and diverse philosophies in aerodynamics and hybrid integration, the battle for Le Mans 2025 is all to execution, efficiency and endurance.

you never knew rumors could fly so quickly. the first thing stray kids tells you as you enter is, “have you seen what comes up when you search up lee know?”

“what are you talking about?” you ask flustered, tucking a loose strand of you dark hair behind your ear. 

“so, you know how yesterday we went out,” hyunjin begins. you nod, lashes flickering.

“lee know didn’t come back right away,” he says, raising a brow inquisitively. you stare at him blankly, fighting down fiery emotions flaring up in your chest.

“what are you talking about,” you echo again flatly. seungmin snorts. “stop playing dumb yn, everyone knows minho has it soft for you.”

“the hell?” it escapes your lips quickly. seungmin made the conversation turn quickly. everyone stares at you and that’s when you realize lee know isn’t there.

“he was with me,” you mumble, your cheeks turning a vibrant shade of red. “i knew it!” seungmin crows, flashing you an evil smirk.

you flick your fingers at seungmin’s eyes and he ducks. “so what do his lips taste like?” seungmin asks. your mouth falls open and your eyes flash.

“WHAT IN THE ACTUAL–KIM SEUNGMIN!” you shout, whirling around to face him. you cross your arms over your chest, ready to yell at him some more when–

“what’s happening here?” a cool voice asks calmly. you freeze right away.

“nothing,” seungmin and you sing in chorus as you glare at seungmin in the corner of your eyes. he beams at you proudly.

minho gives both you and seungmin the best side-eye ever. “okay,” he says, not convinced. “so have you seen–”

“have i seen all the stuff people are saying about us,” you cut him. felix gives you a shocked expression.

“so you did know!” he accuses you. you shrug, and look at lee know.

“yeah. they think we’re dating,” lee know says casually, running a hand through his hair and you feel like you’re drowning just standing there. a small smirk plays on his lips as he runs his eyes over you. 

“alright i think we’ve had enough of minyn minyning,” seungmin interrupts. “minyn?” jisung questions.

“minho plus yn, so minyn,” chan says tiredly, frowning at seungmin. “it’s there, i don’t know, official ship name now?”

“what’s a ship?” jeongin asks.

“it’s when you combine two–” felix begins.

“it’s a boat,” lee know says, his eyes sparkling. “huh?” now everyone turns to stare at him. “what?” he protests.

the next day flies away so quickly you didn’t even have time to blink. you have the day off and soyeon is out, so you decide to swing by your favorite boba shop to start off the day.

“oh my goshhhhh,” a snarky voice remarks behind you. you turn around to face a group of a few girls.

“is that lee know’s girlfriend?” another girl whispers loudly as if you weren’t right there, whipping out her phone to compare you to whatever picture was circling social media.

“he could do sooo much better,” the first girl sneers, tossing her hair, flashing her freshly manicured nails.

“like you’re any better?” you retort, tilting your head back with an air of superiority, hoping the girls would go away. the girls giggle noisily and the first girl steps forward, closer to your seat in the corner. you can smell her strong perfume and fight the urge to sneeze.

“i’m kim hyeon, and all my girls agree that i’d be so much better for lee know,” hyeon says smugly. “and he even said i was cute at a fanmeet,” she adds, a small smile on her face.

when? and i thought he said he only ever liked me… god, i’m so naive. it’s not like i care, right?

“do i look like i came here to hear how much you’re in love with minho?” you sigh, rolling your eyes, turning back to your phone. hyeon mock-gasps. 

“actually, i came here to tell you that he’s mine,” hyeon snaps threateningly while all her friends start nodding like puppets.

you widen your eyes. “oh, i didn’t know minho went to you and told you he was yours,” you counter casually as you run a hand through your hair. 

hyeon bristles angrily, her lips pursing. “ugh, i don’t get how he even likes you,” she says. “you aren’t even pretty. maybe just decent. like, ugh.” her words cut through your skin like knives and bury themselves into your brain. WHY AM I LETTING HER GET UNDER MY SKIN, you yell at yourself internally. I’M SUPPOSED TO BE STRONGER THAN THIS.

hyeon gives you one last glare as she turns on her heel and flounces off. literally. a few of her friends mouth “ugly” to you before following her.

you roll you eyes, trying to shake off the feeling of how she was kind of right. why did lee know choose you? you weren’t special. you were just a normal person that happened to be stray kids’ makeup artist. 

the chances.

“i’m fine,” you say aloud to yourself, tugging at the strings of your sweatshirt, but hyeon’s words rang in your ears. 

you’re not even pretty. not even pretty. not. even. pretty. maybe just decent. decent. you’re decent. why does he even like you?

you shake your head. “shut up,” you hiss to yourself, clenching your fists. i’m so weak, you think to yourself as tears start to sting your eyes. you try to blink them away but they persist.

stupid useless overacting emotions why do you exist, you yell at your heart. how could minho love somehow that breaks at the mildest comment?

a quiet sob escapes your lips and you cover your mouth right away. you fumble and bring your phone up to your ear. you hate the way your voice cracks as you speak but you can’t help it. you really aren’t feeling it right now.

“minho? can you come? please?”

ok SOOOOOOO. sorry this took me a literal Month to get to i had to wait until i had the energy to gather sources djkfjal

two of these edges (not to pull out graph theory vocab. but.) are pretty self explanatory. well actually. ok ONE of these edges (alex/lily) (technically that just links to my lily tag bc i dont really post her unless it's alex/lily stuff and i never got around to properly tagging. my b) is incredibly self explanatory. for obvious reasons. and personally i feel like lando/alex is self explanatory but i understand not everyone has had their third eye opened. like... there's so much to chew on there. obviously you have the childhood hero worship of it all, very key very key but then you have like, alex's grandma running into lando in the airport and getting a photo (and later, a signed hat). you have 2020 mutual shenanigans, but you also have alex doing... whatever he's doing here in 2022. and then you hit more contemporary times... anyways now that i've basically linked my entire 2304 tag. let's get to the THIRD EDGE!

there's very little here beyond what i already said in my og post really. but there are CASTLES IN MY MIND!! we have GOLF! lando loves golf... lily loves golf... lando golfs with alex... lily golfs with alex... (im sure there's a better example for that somewhere but im not looking for it, my golf is the mind killer tag is not very thorough or maintained. No Vettel comeback in Le Mans

The official entry list of this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans got published and Sebastian Vettel is not listed as one of the Porsche drivers. The third Porsche will be driven by three Porsche IMSA drivers, Felipe Nasr, Mathieu Jaminet and Nick Tandy.

Thomas Laudenbach, head of Porsche motorsport, says that the main reason was that they searched for experienced drivers to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and because the modern hypercars are much more different compared with an F1 car, than the old LMP1, it would've been to early for Sebastian Vettel.

jun hangs up on you and lets you face the truth. a bitter laugh forms in the back of your throat as you replay his words in your head.

“i’m breaking up with you.” your hands feel cold as you tug the end of your hoodie string.

that’s so ironic, you think to yourself. feeling hurt feels wrong to you, since you were literally just kinda cheating on jun. you shake your head as you enter the boba shop before feeling a vibration in your pocket.

you leave hyunjin on read as you order the two taro milk teas and a coffee one for minho otherwise he’ll give you grief when you come back.

when you get back you pretend nothing happened even though what jun said still takes up your mind. 

“thank you yn!” felix says, flashing his bright smile. he takes the tea and jabs the straw in quickly. minho somehow appears next to you and takes his.

“thanks,” he says, barely audible. he brushes his fingers against your hand and you unwillingly flinch. “hey, you okay?” lee know’s soft tone surprises you.

“i’m fine,” you force, rolling your eyes. seungmin frowns. “are you sure?”

you raise your eyebrows at seungmin. “you’re being suspiciously nice, seungmin.” he shrugs. you groan as all of stray kids appear, their faces worried.

“all right fine. jun broke up with me.”

they all gasp and you don’t see minho’s small smile as his hand skims over your hips. “WHAT,” hyunjin says loudly. “i’m going to–”

“let’s prank him,” seungmin comments mischievously. “you’re not going to do ANYTHING,” you announce sharply as you take a sip of your taro tea. “ugh, i’ll tell you at dinner. soyeon gets to know first,” you say giving them a knowing glance.

“ok i got to go, catch up later?” minho grabs your hand before you leave. “text me so i can take you,” he whispers into your ear. “please yn.” you nod slowly. “okay minho.”

lino: at ur door

the doorbell rings exactly at that moment and you feel your cheeks flush as soyeon winks at you. “let me know how it goes,” she grins. you roll your eyes as you open the door.

“hi.”

“hey.” lee know stares at you, his eyes going up and down your body. your hand stays awkwardly glued to the door as you and minho compete in a staring contest.

“minho, bring yn back in one piece, okay?” soyeon calls, breaking the silence between you two. minho smirks. “got it, soyeon,” he replies as you take his hand and step out.

“are you okay yn?” minho asks as soon as you’re out of the house. “i’m fine, why are you so worried?” you deflect the question, avoiding his eyes. he grabs your chin and makes you look up at him.

“i just want to make sure you’re okay and not like, i don’t know, devastatedly heartbroken or something,” minho responds sharply. 

“no, i’m most definitely heartbroken and sobbing inside that’s why i’m going out with you,” you retort sarcastically as lee know starts driving. he sighs. “i’m fine, you know that right?”

“yes,” he says finally. you fall silent for a minute before saying, “aren’t you supposed to be happy i don’t have a boyfriend anymore?”

minho hums the notes of megaverse before replying, “i don’t know, am i?”

“lee minho.” he laughs. “okay fine, i am. a little.” you raise your eyebrows until he admits, “fine i was lying. yes. a lot.”

“i really like you, yn.” you look away and out the window. his fingers stroke yours and you can’t pull away.

“i don’t know, minho.”

“i’ll wait.”
