Imagine Auggie gets lost in the paddock. Trouble and Max (and probably the entire Red Bull garage) are panicking trying to find him. Meanwhile Auggie somehow wandered into the Mercedes garage and starts talking to Toto. While Toto picks him up to take him back to Trouble, Auggie is rambling to him about how great of a driver Max is. Toto tries to make him a Mercedes fan going “Lewis is pretty great too” but Auggie just shuts him down saying “not as good as Max”🤣🤣🤣

toto obviously sees auggie and knows everyone is probably panicking to find him, so he wanders over and he picks the boy up and maybe it’s just teasing at first when he’s like, “did you just want to be in a better team’s garage?”

and auggie is instantly just like, “red bull is the better team”

“because I’m not stupid”

and it starts a massive back and forth and toto is fully bringing stats to the table with a six year old but auggie isn’t having it😭eventually he takes him back to the red bull garage like, “take him! you’ve brainwashed him!”

meanwhile christian is cackling at the fact auggie almost made a grown man cry

little brother has a karting tournament one weekend that falls on a GP weekend and everyone’s disappointed but trouble understands that max can’t be there all of the time. but then he FaceTimes her right before the race starts, sweaty and clearly just come out of qualifying, and asks her to flip the camera around so he can watch. he watches the whole race and then congratulates little brother.

even if he can’t be there in person, he’ll be damned if he can’t show up at all.

okay so I hadn’t really decided what exactly trouble’s job was where she met charles before this but you’ve just given me an idea and now I can’t unsee it

trouble working as a bartender at some fancy monaco bar where charles and his friends regularly visit. over time, they’ve gotten to know each other and kinda banter a lot and whatnot

she sees him after a few bad races and he kinda opens up about how frustrated he is at work, and it opens up this whole new sector in their relationship. their friendship becomes more genuine and now sometimes charles just goes to the bar to catch up with her in between races where he can

and I could see there being this banter/joke that he’s just a pretty boy who doesn’t understand the way the streets work so she kinda teaches him. but it’s more so her kinda telling him these funny stories and her enjoying how shocked he gets in a world where someone didn’t grow up in monaco with the luxuries he had

and then she makes an offhand comment about her shitty family. and maybe he picks up on the vibe a few times but this is the first time she’s outwardly mentioned them so he is like, “absolutely not! I’m picking you up after your shift tomorrow” and she’s like???

and just imagine the leclerc family’s faces when charles walks in with this random girl like, “she’s not my girlfriend, she’s just a friend who deserves to know what a real family dinner is like!!!” and it’s just so🥹

trouble doesn’t introduce them until quite a bit into the relationship because she doesn’t want her wee brother to have someone flakey in his life that will ultimately disappoint him again

and the relationship between max and the wee brother is a bit tense at first because trouble has always been called “trouble” like in a derogatory way, especially by her family so he’s quite protective of his sister and doesn’t understand why max keeps calling her a name he knows upset her😭but then once that is explained, he slowly starts to warm up to max

and like max becomes the closest, if not the only real father figure in the brother’s life. like yeah, trouble has raised him and done everything she can for him, but he’s never had a male role model? and he just idolises max so much. like this boy wants to start karting and be just like him

and so when father’s day comes around, the teacher is explaining all these traits in a father and all he can think is “that’s max” so he makes the card for him😭

and max would just be so fucking emotional😭like this boy never had a supportive role model in his life either that wasn’t toxic and abusive like j*s so he’s so wary of how he treats the wee brother. and then to see that it means just as much to the brother as it does to him? to know this boy sees him like that? that he didn’t fuck it up?

for max and trouble, have we ever talked about how auggie might get a little jealous of Max’s nephews? like they look so much like Max, they’re related to Max, and just from pics we can tell the man loves them. So I could see a kid that hasn’t really had an easy life being having an issue with sharing the main positive male role model in his life. maybe feels like max is picking them over him or like he’s being abandoned again?

like he got so used to it just being him and max and trouble. and he thought it was exciting at first that they were going to have visitors but suddenly these two wee boys are playing all the same games him and max played, and max is joking with them the same way. and I don’t think auggie is necessarily jealous of the attention not being on him, but more so it feels like a wake up call

like these boys are actually related to max. these boys have that connection with max and he’s known them since they were born and they were family, and now auggie feels like an outsider

and max definitely picks up on it instantly. maybe he makes some excuse to go to the other room or waits until everyone is gone for the day before he brings it up with auggie so there isn’t any unwanted attention shifted onto him

the way max’s heart breaks at the idea of auggie feeling like an outsider when he worked so hard to make this place feel like a home for the boy. the way max just bundles him close to his chest promising him that he’s going nowhere, that this is forever, that auggie could never be an outsider when max sees him as his family

and the way that max’s nephews become like cousins to auggie😭suddenly he feels a protectiveness to be a good older cousin and it’s just so🥹

so now suddenly being in the spotlight of one of the biggest athletes ever? it’s overwhelming. it’s intense. and sometimes, it’s too much. and I imagine the last thing she wants is to birder or annoy max with her worries or if she’s uncomfortable in the paddock

but imagine christian being the one to notice? he always has her sat next to him and he lets her grab his hand when she’s nervous during the race. he’s the one to give her his office when journalists or fans get nosy. he’s just so protective of her in the same way he is with max

okay but can you just imagine trouble using the "i licked it so it's mine" thing on max and he is just like ??? at first

I feel like the first time Trouble and Max have their first real fight after moving in together with screaming and insults and slammed doors, she just shuts down and goes silent because of her past. Locks herself in the guest room and ignores him. Only comes out for the bathroom and maybe a granola bar when she knows he’s not home.

And Max panics. Leaves food at the door, sits there and listens to her weep, and tries to figure out how to fix everything. And then he has to leave for a race weekend and he doesn’t want to leave her. He asks Sunshine to text her and make sure she’s okay everyday because if Trouble won’t talk to him, maybe she’ll at least talk to Sunshine. He’s worried that she’ll leave when he’s gone. He wins but Trouble isn’t there and it sucks. This all fucking sucks.

But when he comes home, he finds her curled up on the couch with Jimmy and Sassy curled up beside her and tears in her eyes and they can finally, finally discuss this. But first, he simply pulls her into his lap and hugs her tightly.

max and trouble have so much potential for angst with their background that sometimes it just makes me FERAL

like the way both of their coping mechanisms come out with max’s short fuse and her responding, but eventually there’s just a moment where she shuts down and just needs to step away from it all

and max hates that he’s pushed her to that point😭he knows how it was with her parents and he knows the way she could do days without eating because she was too scared to come out and face her parents and piss them off more, and he hates that she’s now doing the same with him

he probably doesn’t even leave until the last possible moment and I could honestly seeing him skip media day in hopes of trying to talk out the argument🥲

and he doesn’t care about winning or anything, he just cares about her and it’s a stab in the heart whenever someone asks about her and when he comes home and she’s left the room, he doesn’t even care about the argument or anything else. he’s just throwing himself onto her and he’s muttering out so many apologies for making her feel like that

but she’s doing the same because max would never make her feel unsafe and maybe this is the first time she’s lived with someone since she left her parents’ house, so it just felt natural😭and her apologising for making him worry and not even saying goodbye when he left and just making him panic so bad😭😭😭😭
