on october 7, you are asked to go to hyuncheol’s office where he is already waiting for you. “please sit down, jieun.” while his presence itself can be intimidating, he does not seem angry, even maybe in a good mood. “i know you are busy, this won’t take long, don’t worry.” he begins. “it seems that your hard work has come to fruition and got yourself noticed. while the managers of the company are always trying to find opportunities for our talents, we’ve been approached directly to request your participation.” a hint of pride can be heard in his tone. “we are in no position to accept or refuse the offer ourselves, so the call is yours to make.”

when she gets called into hyuncheol’s office, jieun is scared to be called out for her moments of weakness during the tour. she knows she hasn’t been performing to the best of her ability. knowing that legacy is a company looking out for their trainees, she fears to be questioned about her mental health and answering questions she’d rather not talk about. 

she was doing fine now. honestly.

what she receives instead knocks any sense of anxiety out of her and replaces it with a whole different sort of anxiety. a solo schedule. she had been directly requested to participate in this. chewing on the inside of her cheek, the female sinks into her seat and ponders over her options. what should she do? it was a great opportunity but doing it... alone?

“I... think I would like to try...,” she hears herself respond before she can actually reflect upon her words. now that they’re out there though, she feels a bit more reassured. “it’s a big opportunity and it’s a huge step. I’ve already come so far this year- I’d be stupid to slow down now.”
