Has anyone thought about how Astarion's going to react when "the delights of man" start coming back to him after the ritual? Because sure there will be delights but there's also the aftermath...

Bodily functions return and he doesn't handle them coming back well at first.

Tav hears Astarion screaming like a banshee and they rush to the bathroom. Runs in expecting some damn monster hunters or something. Instead he's standing there naked pointing at himself with tears in his eyes that he's leaking and being punished for the ritual.

And Tav just stands there with a blank expression when they realize he's talking about regular old bathroom usage.

Tav asks what he thought any of them were doing in the woods when they left camp alone? Astarion goes I don't know...nature stuff?

Tav just walks out shaking their head while he whines that they're supposed to be helping him...

the ichimatsu incident skit is like crazy good it’s just been discolored in my memory for spawning a generation of k*ra*chi shippers but man the skit was good and line delivery was most excellent. Why the eng dub changed ichi’s “karamatsu boy” line into “karamatsu’s bitch” I’ll never know but it was funny and also made sense in context of bemoaning being in Kara’s debt. Even in*cestbait aside it was still funny to me that ichi would rather throw karamatsu under the bus by making him out to be a brother kisser than just tell the truth.. maybe one day we will heal and iromatsu can be good again. anyway obligatory flaming banner

the ichimatsu incident is literally such a good skit it's literally so funny. like the point of the bit is "ichimatsu has the worst day of his life" which is why the inc*estbait joke works it's like "im so desperate to get out of this situation that i'm going to resort to doing the worst thing i can think of" (inc*stbait). and then it's like "this is hands down the worst day of my life nothing could make this day worse" and the even worser thing happens to him (karma of inc*stbaiting). it's sad that it got misconstrued by incest shippers but it's not like we can expect people who ship incest to have media literacy or critical thinking skills ^_^

i think the dub actually hadn't introduced the phrase "karamatsu girls" yet, which is why they changed it to "karamatsu's bitch" (during the s1e2 bridge scene he says something like "there's more than enough of me for both of you", i actually don't think he ever says "karamatsu girls" until s2e3 🤔 but i could be wrong). which was a good localization anyways because like you said the point of it is "im in kara's debt (FUCK!!!)" whereas "karamatsu boy" can come off more as "now im a fan of kara (because he did this good thing for me)" rather than the humiliating experience of Owing Your Brother A Favor

it's such a good skit it's so funny. and iro is such a funny and sweet dynamic. but alas

Having Niki as a big brother is like having Rinne as a big brother but he aren't asshole to other people, you would be his number one food taster and you would eat all kinds of dish you want to eat as long Niki have the ingredients for it!

Even through he is so hungry, he would priority your food more but you both would take care of one another and won't let one another be starve 🥹💕 as it's the only the two of you in the country, since both your parents is out of the country to who knows where. 🤔💀

Niki probably won't let you meet Rinne since, Rinne is a bad influence for you but you would meet him either way since that spawn of sa-- I mean amazing Big brother of Hiiro would pop out of nowhere to steal his wallet and freeload at your home.

You would try to protect your big brother but your a midget to rinne and an amusement at that too, so you too probably going to deal with him too. You sometimes dislike Rinne and sometimes you like him depend if his being annoying to your big brother.

Since your big brother is (force) idol, your his number one fan! You would happily skip class to watch his live much to his disappointment but he don't really force you to go to school, as long your happy, feed and away from being influence by Rinne or other bad flags he knows around.

Your brother's unit will have a live today? There's an test for math? TIME TO GO AND WATCH YOUR BIG BROTHER LIVE AND PRETEND YOUR SICK TO EXCUSE YOURSELF 🤪

you would bring food to Niki since he would be hungry after it. You would scream and support your big brother very loudly than any of other fans, to the point Niki and his unit mate knows where you are.

Btw, you also have collection of your brother merchandise which he question why would you do that if the real deal is your big brother and stuff but won't stop you, through his glad you like him being and idol.

Maybe it could be one of the reason he would continue to be one, through he still like to be a chief more.

You would have the same illness as Niki but not worse that he have since your able to go to school and all.

On another note, you two probably would have a matching Food theme PJ🥹 like pudding pattern or something.

For school work or study seasons, he would support you by making your favorite food while you study-- maybe asking HiMERU to tutor you exchange for food, so you could learn the topic you dont understand. Since your big brother Niki only finish high school. 🥹😭

He probably would know if your down or sad, it's quick to have a sibling bonding time, like watching movie while eating all kinds of food he cook for you and him.

Or have a feast to eat, maybe if he really force since rinne is a fun person Niki would deal with Rinne smug look at Rinne would think how to make you smile again.

So over all, Niki is a best brother.

My Top 2021 Games Played List

what better way to start the new year (and blog) by looking at everything I played last year🤔 and I played a lot in 2021 surprisingly. some of these I made a review on @splashinkling and some I just failed to talk about at all

let's start off with a few notables because I can't just talk about my top games and I need to babble about everything I played this year. these include games that I played but I wouldn't count as playing in 2021 (things like going back for the 100% and games I haven't finished) and also games that just didn't make it to the top 10

Valkyria Chronicles 1 - one of my favourite stories! but I played VC1 to achievement hunt this year and it was surprisingly fun to do everything calculatedly

Spiritfarer - another one that has absolutely amazing narrative and decently good gameplay that doesn't make it feel like you're ever wasting time! I really want to finish this game this year because they released the Farewell update and I'm super excited to see what I've missed since then

Battle Chef Brigade - a really really great game. underratedly good.

Hexecells series - wrote a review on this one, but again, great minesweeper style game. if you're a fan of minesweeper, this is it.

Octopath Traveller - just wow. it's a long game (which is why I didn't finish it). but no doubt it's a great game. fantastic writing. very refined art style and music.

Bright Memory - a solid FPS, which I don't play too often. pretty fun and short experience tho. best to learn how to dodge and parkour around the place

When the Past was Around - lovely little point and click puzzle game. I loved the art and the music. the story is also really sweet. one of the better story puzzle games I've played

Mary Skelter Nightmares - I don't want to talk about this game more than I have to. it's a meme to me (no offence to the game itself) and just a long game to play.

UNBEATABLE - gotta keep an eye on this rhythm game. it's not fully released yet.

10. Catherine Classic

great real-time puzzle game that makes you thinking in so many different ways while you're playing

the story's kinda suspect but it's not written poorly at least, just not a great vibe

9. Aer: Memories of Old

nice puzzle-platformer game with flying in between

also bird form is great and flying is actually really satisfying

very chill, very relaxing game

8. Dorfromantik

another chill game!

not really a puzzle game and more like one of those score attack games that makes you think

the style of the game is also *chef's kiss* amazing

7. Metal Unit

a solid action platformer roguelike

the pixel art is on point. the story is also pretty okay

the game gets easier once you have a loadout that you prefer/you've got everything unlocked (but that's not really a problem)

if I finished something like Dead Cells, it might've bumped Metal Unit off the list, but it didn't and Metal Unit deserves some recognition

6. Mini Motorways

you wouldn't think it, but I would definitely categorize this as an RTS (real-time strategy). also a score attack.

good lord if you don't have to think constantly playing and pausing

because just SPAWN IN THE RIGHT PLACE dear god if you put another yellow house next to the blue supermarket I swear-

5. Carto

my list has tons of puzzle games and this is another one!

map manipulation is so cool, Carto just felt like a new experience. maybe this mechanic was done before, but this one felt just right

also very well written and enjoyable story

4. Littlewood

I think my fourth completion of the year was Littlewood.

fantastic game. wonderful little life sim. no stress *at all*

lots of customizing things. would compared to something like Animal Crossing tbh. tho not real-time and Littlewood is my preferred experience

3. Florence

a short and sweet experience (about 30-60 minutes)

love the story. every chapter was so so good. this is what you play the game for.

the game itself is simple. not really a puzzle game. much more like a visual novel game with some interaction

especially liked the speech bubble section

2. Haven

fantastic RPG.

hug to heal<3

the story is fantastic and the banter between the two leads is masterful. the arcs they have to go through are so well paced and written. if you love narrative in games, this is a must-play

other than that, gliding around is enjoyable, if not a little finnicky

the battle mechanics are interesting, also finnicky. but also very different and I liked it. wish I could target tho instead of manipulating my actions to target

the music also pretty great if you like that lo-fi style

1. Hollow Knight

okay I'm probably a little biased about this at the moment. I just did a 4-hour speedrun of the game to grab some easy achievements but oh boy

this game is fantastic. great metroidvania. top tier all around.

the music, the art, the bosses, the sparsely sprinkled story that you have to piece together. absolutely amazing experience

both the first time I played this and recently, I switched between this and Celeste. and holy those two games could not be any more different control-wise. which is why I struggled so badly the first time (which caused me to leave it alone for a year to which I regret)

oh also colosseum 3. I'm a fool so it won't let me win the fool cup.

hehe, you're not the antagonist :') i hope the story turns out alright, it's not as spooky or creepy as i wanted it to be im almost done but it is what it is ig ye it's super interesting!!! lol ofc im the one that picked the major. i absolutely love biology. i hope i can help people when i get a job :) LOL no it's not seonghwa! i'll go ahead and give it to u: it's the maknae. 🤔 wonder who that is no he doesnt collect photocards, but he watches a ton of variety shows, has a twitter acc, and listens to kpop :) he's a cutie and im rly glad i have that with him bc im not nearly as close with my mom and ye, the collab that wasnt a collab. they all did so well but really? they all just danced one after another. ateez tour! im hoping my dad got tickets for me for christmas but if i dont get them i'll be fine :') the concert is on the first day of classes so idk if i could even go the fanart that spawned was so good! up all night is just so perfect, i was delighted when it came out. delighted and my last final went so well!!! i got a score way higher than what i needed and i got a solid A in the class :) it was actually my biology class. im super happy. and now im free :) - 🎅

oh okay HAHAHA. ngl that sounds like it'd make for a pretty good premise too, though i'm excited to read it either way - i'm sure what you made is great! maybe the gift i can give to you is a book cover for the story or something HAHAHA. tho yeah i feel you - i'm mostly done with my gifts too but i just feel like they need...something. i can stare at skz for extended periods of time while working on them at least but dear lord i think i need eyedrops i don't think i'm blinking enough anymore

eyy you still got a while before thinking of job hunting - you can just enjoy studying that now! i'm looking forward to see how you'd incorporate your area of expertise into your work - maybe it could work on something like a sci-fi or...i dunno, apocalypse-themed fic (assuming of course you haven't done that yet)

ahhh jongho then! finally the mystery is solved! (≧▽≦) now i wonder what kind of horror scenarios you've put him through in your stories. also, tho this seems to be your main genre, do you ever write anything lighter/fluffier?

oh dang yeah him having a stan twitter account is actually pretty amazing! i really hope he gets you tickets to ateez's tour too (and go with you ofc) - i'm sure since it's the first day of school not much would happen anywhoos HAHAHA. and you could probably afford to not go to class the next day. ahh i'm both happy for and jealous of all the in-person concerts already going on over there ( ;∀;)

THAT'S AWESOME - CONGRATS ON THE A! AND THE FREEDOM! hopefully that means you also have the time to just veg out and relax now. speaking of tho, i realized a few days ago that i don't really have any more offline hobbies i'm always screwed whenever there's a blackout - do you enjoy doing anything that isn't on the computer?
