Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the shirt release that started it all! in 1991 a store called TAANG Records in Harvard Square took a chance on a new shirt by young artist MCA. The graphic was inspired by a recent event with Paul Reuben aka Pee-wee Herman... and commented on how he was being portrayed in the media at the time. MCA branded it Evil Design and the rest is history!

In 2021 UVD Toys is excited to release an edition of our 4" Evil Ape to commemorate the anniversary! The "Big Adventure" edition is limited to just 50 pieces world wide and will only be available via the UVD site HERE. This release will land Tuesday, January 26th at 9am PST for $60 each. Evil Kong is just one of the many variations on MCA’s Evil Ape character. Love his hair, his teeth and his sort-of stoned menace. This green version reminded me of my vintage vinyl Little Green Sprout and Sigmund the Sea Monster from Living Toys. Too bad he’s missing his Fay Wray.

Tenacious Toys is teaming up with art toy producer UVD Toys once again to drop another exclusive vinyl art toy: the Evil Ape Fink 4" figure designed by legendary street artist MCA! With a long history in the art toy industry dating back to 2005, Boston-based MCA has been active in the street art and sticker scene well before that. Who's ready for a new figure from MCA?!?! We have been waiting for one for a while and just today, he posted this up to his Facebook page showing off a brand new "APE", if you will... the Evil Ape Fink! This is being produced by the folks over at UVD Toys and once again, they are using the talents of Oasim Karmieh to sculpt this out... and hot damn does it look good! No word on a size as of yet, but we are hoping they match all the OG figures (around 4" tall)! MCA mentions that the release won’t be until mid 2020... but right now he is working on colorways as well as exclusives... should be fun!
