i swear. this has been one of my most memorable fics. i know, "a fic about the movie cars (2006)?" to that i say, clearly, you have never read a fic from a fandom you have previously disregarded that changed how you lived your life and destroyed how you thought of fandom

anyway this fic is really good! its funny and its angsty and its just so wonderful. if that quote on the back doesn't pull you in, maybe the thought of someone so insecure and being validated again and again of their beauty will get you, or maybe the plentiful angst or MAYBE you just like twinks. there is something here for everyone

objectlesson's fics have been such a wonderful discovery this year, and i am so so so happy i stumbled upon them at 3am on an exam day. merry christmas @alienfuckeronmain! thank you for writing such amazing works! time to leave a new essay under your fic lol

Doc always said he didn't get outdoors enough outside of racing, and while Lightning could only agree, he’d also worried that Doc saying that meant he was going to make Lightning run laps around Radiator Springs or something ridiculous. So he was, of course, grateful when he realized that all Doc meant was to take him on a date the next time they were passing through somewhere with some greenery, getting in touch with nature, and all that.

let's start with a hat for him that isn't part of a set, the scrooge mcdoc. aside from having just a fantastic name, just... look at this thing.a top hat with a matching scarf? this thing was made for me!!! the modeling on that scarf is just. gorgeous. i love the shape of the hat, too, and the fact that the band is a little crooked... this is probably my favorite hat of the update. i sure do hope medic doesn't get any other items that make me this happy, i don't know if my heart could take it (nudge nudge, wink wink)

prompt - scent

Doc tried not to have opinions on scents one way or the other. It'd get in the way of his work if he got distracted every time someone smelled a certain way, so over the years and across the patients he'd treated, he'd done his best to train himself to take in scents more as data than anything else. Kept it as cold and impersonal as his office.

angst isnt usually smth i go for, writing wise, but like. im drafting up a breakup/makeup fic that only makes it worse when lightning ends up in the hospital after being in a crash and doc feels like hes to blame for it bc it happened the first race after resigning as his crew chief and i!!!!!

like this aint my usual style but im rolling with it honestly
