The Atsign Agency: run by Joe Hills and the zombie Cleo, they're here to solve all of your supernatural problems, hauntings, magical accidents, and also just about any contracting work or errands you need if you're willing to have it done cheaply by two unqualified odd jobbers struggling to make rent. After over a decade together in the city of Carrows, the two of them frequently see things and deal with things that are probably a bit too ridiculous to name, and have the experience to handle it, if not particularly frequently the money.

When the mysterious (and clearly very rich) Pearl Moon walks into their agency, offering them a massive payment for a simple job, what are they to do but accept?

Yeah, they may be about to regret that one. This job is going to be anything but simple, and the entire City of Angels may be at stake. Careful, Atsign Agency: the past is watching.

The void looks darker, now. Another earthquake (Grian’s calling them that, he's decided, regardless of how far away he is from land) strikes, and the loosely draped hands around their little group aren’t enough to stop them from being jolted apart. And being separated further and further, unrelentingly, until they can’t reach each other anymore. The worst thing is that it doesn’t even stop there. The shaking continues on, and they’re just desperately reaching out, swinging limbs at each other in an attempt to catch. But there’s nothing to push against—Grian feels like a mouse in a wheel, exerting all his energy and not moving one bit. The shaking continues. And continues, and continues. And they just get pushed further and further apart. Grian doesn’t quite know how that works. How the shakes are moving them when they themselves cannot.

Hermitcraft's moon has been looking pretty huge lately. We know how that story ends—Boatem stranded in the void. But what happens after that, when Grian gets separated from his friends, ending up alone (or so it seems) in an empty world with nothing but the universe itself to contend with?

As it turns out, quite a lot.

It's almost comfortable, and for the time being he's content to spend his evenings playing pinball with no worries about a tomorrow that will never come.

That is, until a stranger appears in the time loop.

Cleo was only supposed to be in town for a few days. Instead, she finds herself trapped in time and space. As she searches for an explanation, and hopefully an exit, she finds that only one other person in town seems to notice anything is out of place at all.

As their paths collide, they must now work together if they are ever to make sense of this predicament. Can they do it, or will they be doomed to repeat today ad nauseam?

Summary:

Grian hates the Roughs. The town they’re in is far too small, and dusty, and he’s having to sleep on the floor. So they’ll just have to finish this job as fast as possible, which means no time for subtlety or politeness. Mumbo and Scar, predictably, are fully on board, and while he’s still figuring Gem out, she sure is a crack shot with that rifle.

Gem’s good at what she does, and she knows it. Really, this is mostly just a holiday to her! She’s a little uncertain about Grian, since he’s a little terrifying, especially in reputation, but she’s having fun! It’s good to catch up with Mumbo, and Scar’s always great company. It’s all high-octane fun and games, at least, until it isn’t…

Mistborn Era 2 AU! Grian, Gem, Mumbo, & Scar all have cool powers and weapons, and they’re out here to cause Problems. It goes great! (Well, apart from all the ways it goes very not great.)

The Rift was never meant to be anything more than a decoration. It was meant to sit there, look pretty, and be used in the imagined backstory of Grian and Mumbo's shared base. And that is all it did.

Until it opened, animate corpses started pouring out of it, and the Hermits understanding of their reality was shattered, for good.

So did everyone else. Thankfully, Zed is Blorbo from the End Poem Entities’ Universe and also a stubborn fool who would rather stay another round in a 6-months-per-loop time loop than let any of his friends die.
