Summary: Pearl Caldera is a normal gardener living outside of a chaotic magical forest with her equally chaotic and magical roommate, Gemini Chrysan. She fills her days with taking care of the plants in her room and messing around with Gem’s soulbound magic deer. As one does.

But one day, Pearl wakes up and realizes she’s somehow gained magic powers, and, without any resources, she finally resolves to track down an old friend.

NOW INTRODUCING.... THE CRITTERS !!!

Technically Corvid is still a part of an au, i really like everyone's designs so i guess its just like a weird little au that are also kinda ocs?? Idk. Im still tagging it as the animatronicfication au and using the other ccs names but im completely separating wilbur from Corvid.

The one that probably changed the most is simp LMAO i just went back to his old design that was inspired by Luna (@starrixle's transfem simpbur turned oc) and Spencer is such a fitting name in my mind i literally can not imagine him with a different name *bwomp*

Also I'm working on refs for the other characters associated with the respective critters! I wanna finish them all and dump them into one post and I'll link it here when I'm done.

ANYWAY INFODUMP TIME

Before we go into individual characters i want to say that this is absolutely Minecraft. Like. The world is built off of Minecraft lore yk !!!! The overworld will still be called the overworld but it's basically just earth, with more magic and humanoid species! Along with supernatural creatures and cryptids n stuff :D also with more advanced tech considering Corvid exists pFF

Spencer for the most part kinda was like he is in canon or whatever. She used to lean more towards incel ideology because she was REALLY insecure and uncomfortable with herself for the longest time. Despite that, Spencer and Adrianne (egirl) started dating when they were 17, his unhealthy obsession with her was only fueled by her unhealthy attachment to him. They needed each other and it wasn't good for either of them. Spencer had developed horrible separation anxiety which only made things worse. Over time Adrianne became suffocated by his constant neediness, overwhelming insecurity, short temper and lack of contribution to household chores. It pained her to leave, but things needed to change. It wasn't until the breakup that Spencer met Shepard, who was his first irl friend in a long time. They met when they were around 22/23, at first Spencer just used Shepard as a distraction from Adrianne, especially since he was surprised that they wanted to even be his friend in the first place. But after a while he genuinely started to enjoy their company, plus they offered him really good advice and helped him through a gender/sexuality crisis. Eventually they became partners! Maybe not romantically, as they're both aromantic, but life partners nonetheless.

OH and i did make Spencer white/Salvadoran. Her mom is the first generation from immigrant parents while her dad is British; And her dad's younger brother is Adam's dad! He's also an ex-christian, he left due to religious trauma and moved to America to escape his family hA

Spencer's also a no sabo kid LMAO (he knows some words/phrases but other than that he cant speak Spanish to save his life)

ALSO ALSO. Oh my god i could talk about Spence all day LMAO but i made him a werewolf !!!! Hes SOO jealous of Adam because she wanted the cat genes but instead got bitten and turned into a werewolf as a teenager. She's done a pretty good job at hiding it from her family so Shepard's the only one who knows.

I already dumped everything about Adam into that other post, so I don't really have much else to add. HOWEVER !! Him and Spence are cousins now :3 Adam doesn't get to meet Spencer in person until he moves to America with Charlie & co, but he does follow her socials with his secret accounts that his parents don't know about. The only reason they know they're cousins is because Spencer's dad told her so and she reached out! Much to the dismay of Adam's parents but they've secretly kept in touch online.

Keith's pretty much stayed the same apart from a slight design revamp. Although I've made him a little older since originally i made him look young. But then I decided hes a dad so i started drawing him older for the asks pFF he also has a hooked nose now! In case it's not obvious. Keith got married to Jean VERY young, they were maybe 17/18 in human years. It was an arranged marriage and their only goal was to have an heir to the throne. Well they did, they had two kids, the eldest being a boy named Lune and the youngest being a girl named Sunny, who's the would be heir. Until Jean took both the kids and left. It was completely unprompted and left everyone in the kingdom confused, especially Keith. Sure, they had a loveless marriage and maybe he was insufferable at times, but he wanted to make it work if not for the kids then for the kingdom! But its been almost a year since she left, he's lost hope in ever finding her. Keith desperately wants his kids back, not because Sunny is the rightful heir— though that is part of it—but he loves them both dearly. He misses them the most.

Wilfred has pretty much stayed the same as well! I did give him a grey tshirt and darker hair to further distance his design from wilbur though. Hes just as unhinged and immoral as he used to be !!!! Nothing has changed aside from appearance actually.

Tobi also pretty much stayed the same except for its now got an orange jumper and lighter brown hair pFF although i do now have a story for him! Tobi was found by Alejandro in a storage auction, he managed to sell a lot of pretty valuable things from there but Tobi stood out, obviously, so he kept it. Alejandro is a travel vlogger and lives in an RV with his friends: Tomas, Philip and Charles. His friends just call him Alex. Anyway, they go from town to town trying local food, visiting tourists traps and vlogging the journey! While doing that they also try to find out how to get Tobi's memories back and possibly turn him human again, if they even can. So far they haven't had much luck but maybe one day...

Corvid was created as the backup singer and lead guitarist of the first all animatronic band! Brought to you by Beloved Entertainment! The other members include lead singer Ranboo Beloved, keytarist Tommy Raccoon, and bassist James Tomcat. Located in Ranboo's Mega Pizzaplex, the only location in the world (so far). Corvid adopts a showman personality while on stage, hes charismatic and such a heartthrob, very popular with the ladies. Off stage he's very calm and soft spoken, he's rather shy but still manages to be a flirt and a tease. Lightly poking fun at his bandmates, coworkers and even guests at times. He's definitely a fan favorite for a reason!

Hi Gillian!! lmao stalk away, I may or may not have done the same 

So another fic that’s been eating at my mind is a gen/qpr Skella fic.

It takes place right after the s2 finale, Stella is a wreck and Sky is a bigger wreck and they’re both not coping with their grief in the least. Sky has been volatile and flipping between day drinking depression to manic discipline and pushing his limits. Stella’s isolating and depressed and she snaps at people who try to push her to move on, but also snaps at people who try to make it seem like she was in love with Bea (she was) and who pity her. 

However Stella has a letter, with Isobel and D’arcy Daniel written on it and she needs some kind of closure. If not for her, then she needs the answers for Bea. 

Cut to Sky getting roped into this when Stella inevitably gets caught by Luna’s soldiers as she attempts to drive out of the school. She tries arguing her case, but it’s to no avail, she’s not to leave Alfea. There are blood witches out there and scrapers and who knows what else lurks in the shadow, says the Queen, but the truth is Stella is trapped in Alfea. 

Her desperation for answers gets through Sky’s grief, who finds a mirror in it, so middle of the night and he shakes Stella awake. Flora is out having fun with Riven and other friends, but Sky’s covering Stella’s mouth to stop her from yelling a backpack thrown over his shoulder. 

“Let’s get out of here.”

They slip out of Alfea in the middle of the night, after stealing Stella’s portal ring from the headmistress’ office. Luna’s too busy and she’s smug enough to think Stella is under her thumb. 

After they portal as far away as they can and as close to their destination possible, they hitchhike together and decide to not use anymore magic, because Stella is already highly recognizable, but a light fairy too? Everyone will know.

Sky lets his beard grow and Stella dyes her hair brown in a gas station bathroom and they trade a specialist sword, made of magical steel, for a shitty awful car and a short amount of cash. They sleep in motels and eat horrible food and they try not to speak about their grief, but there’s only so many subjects they can cover before its back to square one. 

They talk about what happened with Ricky and how Stella lost control in between beers, sitting around the pool of a filthy side of the road motel, Stella refuses to go in, but Sky’s got his jeans rolled back and feet in the water. Stella saying that the moment she realized Ricky was in love with Sky, was the moment she lost her cool and Sky points out Stella wasn’t in love with him and she looks pensive and then shrugs, “...yeah, I don’t think I was.” 

And they scratch the surface of Stella’s queerness but not truly. Sky still drinks too much, but Stella won’t let him hole up in grief and she forces him to drive and they sometimes pose as a couple and are forced to share a bed and at first it’s weird, but then her head is over his heart and Stella’s shoulders drop and it feels like home, like one of the tiny pieces of her broken heart is mended. 

She asks about Bloom and Sky says he doesn’t think he’ll ever recover from losing her and that he hates himself from not following and Stella asks if he thinks Bloom will come back and Sky stops, fingers in her hair and then grunts about needing to sleep. 

(and one night he’s drunk enough and Stella is trying to drag him to bed, telling him this can’t keep happening and Sky starts crying and buries his face in her stomach and says he thinks Bloom’s dead. She’s not coming back and he regrets nothing more than the fact he didn’t follow)

They arrive to where Isobel and D’Arcy live, only to learn it’s a closed building now, that once it was a mental institution and that most of the patients were dangerous people, magical dangerous people, for others and for themselves. 

And so Stella, desperate for answers and for closure, throws herself at this mystery even more and Sky follows suit,  not so much because of his own pain, but because Stella is his best friend and if she’ll got to hell to find the twins, then he’ll be right behind her. 

Anyway this is already huge, but uh- Sky and Stella coming to terms with their grief and Stella learning about her sexuality, while Sky deals with the fact he’s self destructive.

on the me side: things have been good! everything has picked up and got better since the whole diary fiasco, despite what i thought! i even made up with the girl who i said some awful thngs about. she's a swiftie, so it's easy XD (also she is machete's gf's bestie). she told me she got eras tour tickets, im so happy for her! her lit exam was literally on speak now tv. legend. i'm glad we're not fighting anymore. i made new friends, kept some of the old ones. if i could go back... i dont think i would change a single thing :") our finals are over, we're officially out for the summer (prom was amazing) ive been really really happy, and i hope you are, too ❤

on the sad beautiful tragic love life of sythe side: well, maybe not so sad or tragic, because... *drum roll* i have a boyfriend now! he is neither machete boy, or cranberry hehe. he's perfect and i adore him :D let's call him eli, but he sends me good morning messages, and has adorable nicknames for me, and makes me feel amazing ✨

it seems like machete and i have just magically cleared stuff up between us? he certainly doesnt seem to harbour any resentment towards me, or anything. we talk rarely when cranberry's with us, sort of like a mediator ? (cranberry is the unfortunate and accidental middleman lol, literally) although we do most of the talking without cranberry, sort of ignoring cranberry being there. we even have a snapstreak going. i've made peace with [the idea of] his girlfriend (she turns up in his snaps but it doesnt bother me anymore!) ; i found her tiktok and spotify a while back (not that i was looking for it). she has a playlist for machete with a bunch of swiftie songs too haha. it's different from mine. i think mine got really crazy because its sort of a mix between him and some other people, too, plus some songs are just there because i like them lmao

cranberry also has a girlfriend too now, i'm friends with her, but we're not close. it was sort of rocky between us for a while, and some weird stuff and some not cool stuff happened, but we stayed friends :) if i'm being honest, she's not the first person i would ship with him, but if he's happy, i'm happy!

another friend i might have dated is still around haha. let's call him han solo, because thats who he reminds me of. he's also cranberry's best friend! (he and cranberry insisted i write a fanfic for them hehe it was hilarious and caused chaos but everything's good!) he probably knows about eli by now. my friend, let's call her luna, is the captain of the sythe x han ship, but eli exists, and she knows it. but, she'll always ship me and han, i guess. he's nice, too. we only became friends in the period after everything with mchete and cranberry, so i don't think you've ever heard of him? but we had a blast towards the end of the year. we might even go to school together next year? i don't particularly want to make major life decisions over a guy who isn't even my boyfriend, but if we do, i would be really happy :)

all in all, i suppose it is a lovely end to a chaotic but perfect year ❤ i hope everyone gets all the love they deserve and live up to their full potential! it's made me realize that life is full of ups and downs, highs and lows, heartbreaks and falling in love, but in the end, everything always works out! i don't believe in luck, just hard work 💪

so that’s something super cute omfg. okay. i don’t be doing everybody, because that’s a lot of babies to assign favorite candies and desserts to (especially the bezukhov babies and scout because like wtf existed back then in those separate times) but here’s what i think:

august: auggie likes cinnamon rolls. he really likes dousing then in icing and stuffing his face with the cinnamony pastry. he’s such a cutie and i think eddie likes to bring auggie cinnamon rolls on his way home from work, and often has to tell auggie to slow down and not eat so fast🤭

annie: i think you’re completely right. annie loves pop tarts, especially the strawberry ones😉 she’s a big fan of anything obnoxiously strawberry flavored, but pop tarts are her favorite. she’s only allowed to have one pop tart per package though because that’s way too much sugar for this hyperactive child, but joby is like “you want a pop tart? knock yourself out” and will let her go wild lmao

peony: peony loves strawberry chamomile cake. how much more angel-like could she get? it’s light and fluffy and sweet and she thinks she’s a princess and so fancy when she eats it. she wants it for her birthday, she wants it when jay leaves for missions, she wants it when jay comes home from missions… it’s just such a fitting dessert for her and it makes my heart flutter thinking about it🥰

eloise: eloise is a chocolate monster. she ADORES chocolate and will stuff her face until she has a tummy ache with the richest chocolate desserts. she loves gooey liquidy chocolate, like lava cakes and chocolate fountains. she doesn’t like candy candy super much, she very much prefers chocolate bars and similar things like that. she worships the ground that chocolate walks on. she’s risking salmonella to eat the brownie batter and all that. eloise is a chocolate fiend and constantly has remnants of her chocolatey feast left around her lips😅

ben: ben likes candy canes and anything mint or like mint chocolate. he’s one of those weird mint-chocolate people. he likes york peppermint patties. he likes mint chocolate chip ice cream. he loves candy canes at christmas time. he’s a bit weird because i don’t think mint chocolate is very good but whatever floats baby boy’s boat. he’s just a big fan of mint and who’s to tell him he can’t enjoy it?

juni: juni loves sour candy. period. she loves baby bottle pops, sour patch kids, juicy drop pops, warheads, etc. this child gets hyped on sugar, similar to annie, and you and dwayne have to control her intake. as she gets older, the tolerance she builds to sour candy is insane, she practically has to drink a cup of lemon juice to even pucker her lips. she intakes sour things like they’re necessary to her survival, she loves chocolate

luna: luna likes oreos, she’s classic like that☺️ she loves dipping her oreos in milk, eats the creme first… she’s an oreo girl. she won’t say no to chocolate candy bars, she and juni often trade candy when halloween rolls around. you always have to hide the oreos on high shelves from luna when she’s little because she will eat a whole package by herself. she looks so cute with little cookie crumbs stuck to her cheeks when she’s eating her favorite dessert, practically inhaling the sandwich cookies. luna adores those cookies so much

ariel: ariel likes cupcakes, specifically red velvet. she loves how red the cake is and she loves the cream cheese frosting. she always manages to get frosting on her nose, and she’ll try and reach it with her tongue to clean it off, but to no avail😂 she won’t let anyone tell her that it’s just chocolate cake dyed red, because it’s special to her. it’s red!! like how cool is that!! she thinks that red velvet is very fancy, and whenever she gets her favorite treat she feels like a million bucks eating it. she’s such a cutie and loves to savor her red velvet treats

Ellie is this show's much needed comedic relief clown. Bella Ramsey is just so good at being a weird teenage girl!

Again the set design for alot of these places is just incredible

I feel like there's foreshadowing happening and I live in fear for certain characters

Tommy's actor Gabriel Luna was really good. He definitely lives up to what we've been told of him so far lol

The dynamic between Tommy and Joel kinda got me on edge but I think that's the point

The absolute fucking audacity of Tommy and his wife had me ready to throw hands

PEDRO PASCAL KILLED THIS EPISODE!!!!!!! DEAR GOD!!!! Man was acTING!!! It was absolutely heartwrenching. Why am I crying over a 56 year old man? Idk. But I'm here and I am. He gave a brilliant deliverance of that monologue. Just crushed it.

We got alot of complexities to Joel that were more hidden away til now. I look forward to reading those a bit better

A tiny bit of Spanish that I'm gonna run with. The Millers at least kinda in part speak Spanish. I don't think it's gOOD but they can.

The music for this episode was really good. I loved that spooky little sequence near the end.

Hm. Okay I mean. Hm. Usually I don't have fic recs but I actually have a bunch of mlp stuff bookmarked for once lmao.

That said.... My list of mlp fics are. Are complicated? Honestly I have a lot of horror and weird stuff in this? It's funky.

Anyway, ones I've reread on multiple occasions, along with short summaries and some trigger warnings for the horror stuff.

Past Sins - Honestly one of the first I read, and always fun to go back to. A cult tries to ressurect Nightmare Moon separate from Luna, but it goes wrong and results in an Alicorn filly with no knowledge of what she was supposed to be. Twilight takes her in, hoping she can prevent the filly from ever becoming Nightmare Moon. This does have sequels and side stories, my favorite being Winter Bells

Into The Depths - This and it's sequel 'From The Depths' are wonderful, but full on horror. After Luna and Twilight go missing in the old castle in Everfree, Celestia leads the rescue party into the tunnels underneath. The group is haunted and hunted by whatever is down there. Again, this is horror and has a decent amount of gore. Be warned.

A New Dragon In Ponyville - A Dragon named Cliff Runner hears rumor that his little brother was found and raised by ponies, and comes to see if it's true and rescue him if need be. Of course, most of our cast are entirely willing to welcome him into the family! This fic has a lot of worldbuilding for Dragons and def stuff I added to my headcanon.

Sleepless - Ever wanted to see Diamond Tiara become a serial killer? Yeah that. That's the basics. It is a good horror series, not just 'haha pony murder'. Obviously full of dark themes and some gore and death. It has sequels that are either as dark or darker, with Manehattan Blues being the darkest in my opinion.

The Tutelary Spirits - This is multi-part, but takes place in a future where the Mane Six have become sort-of-gods of their Elements, and ponies seek them out for advice in their domain. Unfinished and never will be, but it has three and a half parts for Loyalty, Honesty, Generosity and Kindness

The Alchemy of Chemistry - AU scenario. When Sunset starts to go down her dark path, Celestia instead assigns her to tutor students at the school in hope to keep her from making mistakes she'll regret.

The Witching Hour - Seems like a basic 'here's my cool OC, let's drop her in with the Main Cast and have her go on adventures in the Background'. Which yeah it is, but has some fun characters in the world, fun worldbuilding, and shenanigans.

Why We Dig - A story focusing on the Diamond Dogs, asking the question of why they dig for gems. Featuring an interesting twist!

Dressed To Steal - Teeeechnically I consider this more of a Sly Cooper fic, as it's one of the 'these ponies are dropped into other series' types of stories. But it is mlp! A very young Coco Pommel is dragged from her home dimension into the world of Sly Cooper. She is quickly adopted by Sly, his gang, and also Carmelita.

A Tale of Two Suns - When certain people start digging into Sunset's past, she has to try and cover for her lack of a past. Thankfully, Princess Celestia wants to reconnect, and is more than happy to pretend to be Sunset's mother.

Finding Home - Everyone is concerned about where Sunset is living, given her lack of funds or legal records. Principal Celestia is not going to let her stay just anywhere. Especially not somewhere dangerous.

Looking Glass - When Sunset goes through the mirror, she wakes up as a child Human instead of the near-adult Pony she was. The story follows her growing up in the Human World, questioning her old reality, and becoming the person she is by the time of the Equestria Girls movie.

sorry for all the harry potter posting in 2021…. but like….. reflecting on just how dark the later books were/are, why on earth did every harry potter fan always romanticise having a movie marathon with the movies??? like yeah, it’s basically what i’ve been doing for the last few weekends staying at my sister’s on my own…. and since i’ve been awake this morning, i’ve gone through ootp, hbp and deathly hallows part 1 so far….. and like…… these movies, to me, aren’t really made for marathon watching/binge watching in a sense….. due to the heavy subject matter imo. they’re made to be standalone (although part of a series) viewed movies one by one, not back to back to back in succession; when there’s just so many incredibly substantial themes like death and obviously racism, systemic corruption etc etc. to be thought about while watching.

like of course everyone is going to say that im reading far too deeply into this and that the hp books and movies are trash….. but like the constant romanticisation in the 2000s and early 2010s of wanting to do harry potter marathons as if they were as cutesy and happy go-lucky as romcoms…. or simply just as lighthearted kids movies backed by whimsy and fuzzy feelings back in the day, was just so fucking backward.

like obvs since im older now, i can see that harry was abused by petunia & vernon for example. and by reading other teen fiction (specifically aussie YA fiction series’ tomorrow when the war began series and the ellie chronicles trilogy); harry’s horrible dreams/flashbacks of cedric before/after he was killed in goblet of fire is a symptom of PTSD (which i read in harry potter essays in uni when i did i philosophy essay on epistemic injustice in ootp in the courtroom scene). i can actually see how harry is being used as a pawn by dumbledore in his master plan. and obvs in analysing these things im putting my apparently “useless” arts degree in english and philosophy to use lmao. and of course as kids, we either ignored those themes or never picked up on them because they went straight over our heads.

on this bent then, another YA movie series that is NOT made for binge watching is the hunger games. which i found out to my own kind of detriment last year….. considering that i had never bothered to read the books back when they were popular past the titular namesake hunger games book (and had also forgotten all the early 2010s tumblr posts about how dark it was)…. while deciding to watch all the movies til catching fire part 1 in a binge watch sesh in the middle of 2020. the binge watch sesh was also spurred on by the book about young president snow that came out in 2020 lol.

so last year, when i finally decided to watch hunger games, i could actually understand and contemplate the political ramifications of katniss’s & peeta’s behaviour and defiance… which was something that i completely brushed off while it was hugely popular in the early 2010s because it was “too political”…… while i utterly denied the GLARINGLY OBVIOUS major political undertones and themes in harry potter because i was so obsessed with it….. but I obvs was most specifically preoccupied with what hogwarts house i’d be in lmao and whether i was more like hermione/luna/ginny or a mix of all of them. like yeah. it was so backward.

of course, the HP movies do have a bingeable quality to them; but my god. from really goblet of fire onwards, they’re heavy as fuck and really don’t need to be binged back to back in succession….. like you can do with how i met your mother or Loki eps in terms of tv shows. or idek, for movies, old rom-com faves like suddenly 30/13 going on 30 or rom-coms starring sandra bullock (bc they’re some of my faves)…. or teen indie comedy faves like juno or napoleon dynamite.

bc harry potter at it’s core, is a war story, more obviously from the end of GOF til the end of the series. it’s heavy, it’s dark, and emotionally devastating (for me when i was younger obvs). in some scenes, such as when harry returns with cedric’s dead body in GOF and it’s backed by the cheery marching band music but then drowned out by fleur’s scream and amos diggory dramatically scream sobbing “MY BOOOOOY!!! MY SOOON!!! MY BOY IS DEAD!!!!” (which as a kid i used to laugh incredibly inappropriately at every bloody time i watched it)…. but NOW??? THE PAIN! THE SUFFERING! THE TURMOIL! which is finally paired with the sad score music and camera panning out from the tri-wizard cup school stadium??? oh! i am but torn asunder by it all (okay not really, but i feel amos’s pain more acutely and i can shed a tear or two is the point here). and speaking of GOF, it’s pretty sad that over the years, it’s always been reduced to “C A L M L Y” and hermione’s yule ball dress being pink instead of blue bc of both the real and supposed lack of book to film accuracy…. when there’s obvs more important things to focus on lol.

bc literally one of the most horrifying scenes in the gof movie for me, in retrospect, is voldemort being reborn???? and wormtail sacrificing his own hand to get that essentially cursed silver hand that ends up strangling him to death in DHP1. and also david tennant’s albeit very disappointingly short appearances as barty crouch jr???? that was good casting. and also the incredibly fucked up storyline in GOF of BCJ imprisoning the real mad eye moody in moody’s own enchanted chest for his hair for polyjuice potion???? it hit me last week again (bc it hit me in 2020 when i reread the series with audiobooks as well) just how ridiculously FUCKED UP and BATSHIT that ENTIRE storyline really was. and i read and watched that???? and was fine with it at 10 years old???? jesus christ lmao.

okay. i went a bit off topic and overboard. but y’all get what i mean??? it’s so weird that an entire generation romanticised a YA series that was essentially about a war in its later instalments (and obvs a full blown one by deathly hallows) as some cutesy marathonable story bc it was/is so whimsical and its filled with childhood memories. but in doing it myself over the last few weeks, it’s just not. it was definitely one of the heftiest book series for kids/teens back then. but also for the movies, aside for their run times mostly all being close to 3hrs long, they’re quite emotionally charged and are astonishingly dark & dense in subject matter/themes for a KIDS movie series for the backend of the series. and mostly the only reason it’s “marathonable” in a sense, is because we all know the story so well.

Little Witch Academia/Luca AU

Hey everyone, back again with a quick AU idea! So, you know that new Pixar movie Luca, of course you do, its been advertised everywhere lately~! Well, hearing that it takes place in Italy immediately got me thinking, "Hm, what if the Italian Witches of Luna Nova Academy were also the sea monsters from Luca?". And thus, this cute little AU was born~! Also, if you didn't know, yeah, Croix isn't the only Italian Witch in Luna Nova. There's also Bianca, Irene, and even Blair. Which is funny, since this means that Croix is the only not blonde Italian Witch in Luna Nova, lmao! And just like in the movie, they keep it a secret from almost everybody, with very few knowing their true forms.

This AU is also pretty shipping heavy, because I'm kinda obsessed with shipping. So yeah, this is probably a good a time as any to introduce some ships involving the background witches~! The ships this AU focuses on are ships involving the Italian Witches obviously, with some other ships being mentioned in passing. The ships being focused on are Bianca x Aileen, Sucy x Irene, Ursula/Chariot x Croix, and Andrew x Blair. The ships mentioned being Akko x Diana, Avery x Mary, Lotte x Barbara, and Amanda x Hannah. Don't worry, if I ever do more with this AU, I promise not to make it too ship heavy. I just really wanna do stuff involving ships I adore

Also, for just simply for the sake of showing off, I'm gonna share some ideas I shared with my friends on Discord, because why the fuck not?

For Bianca and Aileen, I kinda like the idea of Bianca keeping it hidden from everyone, until she and Aileen get wet for some reason, and her secret is found out. Now, the two are alone, but that doesn't stop Bianca from freaking out big time. She starts crying, thinking Aileen will hate her now, but all Aileen does is stare, and then lunges at her for a hug once she registers that Bianca is crying. Aileen comforts her and tells her its okay. Bianca then cries tears of joy as the two kiss.

For Sucy and Irene, I can see Irene straight up telling and showing Sucy she's a sea monster, since, well, its Sucy we're talking about. But, now she has to deal with Sucy wondering what kind of sea potions sea monsters can make, or how their scales work in potions. Well, that's Irene's fault, and now she has to pay the consequences.

(Note: One of my friends on Discord actually thought of the Sucy potion thing on his own.)

For Ursula and Croix, I can see Chariot knowing that Croix was a sea monster since they were students. And her keeping that secret, with the only other person knowing is Akko. Akko found out by accident, but Chariot and Croix made sure to tell her the full story so she didn't out. But surprisingly, Akko takes rather, to the point that Croix sprays water in her face to make she isn't some kind of Japanese sea monster in secret. She isn't, and Akko promises to keep it a secret. She actually likes the fact that Croix is a sea monster, to the point where Ursula and start making hypotheses as to why. Most come down to, Akko's just a weird kid!

For Blair, its pretty simple. I can see her wanting to tell Andrew she is a sea monster, thinking that doing this will strengthen their relationship, or at least her delusional idea of her relationship with Andrew, who doesn't even know her. She thinks this'll show trust and respect in their relationship, showing that there are no secrets between the two and that Andrew can be trustful of her. Blair loves, thinking that Andrew will love her honesty and willingness to really forward with him, and to share such a big secret just for him. But, the other Italian Witches have to drive some sense into her, and remind her that Andrew will more than likely freak out that a complete stranger he probably saw only once was a sea monster the whole time. And how this could put her and the others in potential danger. But does Blair listen to them? No, hell no! She's a lovestruck hopeless romantic, you really think her heart follows things like logic, common sense, knowledge, or even basic as hell thinking? Not when she wants the D, that's for sure.

So yeah, that's my AU for now. Not much else to say, but, uh, fish puns? Whatever, goodbye.

(Also, apparently some people thought Croix was French, just because her name is more French than Italian! Nothing else here, I just really wanted to point that out since I thought that was like really funny to me~!)

As per here, the breakdown would be:

Blade, Trouble, Ayla, Briony are in Gryffindor. (Caine is in Gryffindor as well, but he’s a First-Year.)

Riel, Chase, Lavinet, and Tallys are in Slytherin.

Red and Mimir are in Ravenclaw.

Shery and Halek are in Hufflepuff. 

Blade excels at Defense against the Dark Arts and probably runs a dueling club out of the Room of Requirement. He will almost definitely be an Auror when he grows up. For some reason it becomes “a thing” that he never attends balls or dances because he’s getting up to some morbid adventure that just happens to coincide with those dates. Despite not being a prefect, he becomes known for his sense of justice and investigative demeanor and is the go-to person to ask if something weird of fishy is going on in the school. 

Trouble is definitely on the Quidditch team--I’m guessing as a Beater or Keeper--and is also pretty good at Defense against the Dark Arts, as well as (surprisingly) Potions. He will probably be an Auror alongside Blade, but he might also be a Quidditch player for a bit too! His Patronus is a lion, and it’s later revealed that he was bitten by a werewolf when he was young, causing him to turn during the full moon, leading to his unusual golden eye color. 

Tallys is a Prefect and extremely competitive when it comes to winning the House Cup each year. She excels in Herbology as well as Magical Creatures and helps both professors as an assistant. She definitely saw the Thestrals like her first year at the school and is surprised when people only just start to notice them later. She will probably be the Herbology teacher (?? is this the word??) at Hogwarts when she grows up. She was supposed to attend Beauxbatons but loathed the students there with all her heart. She owns a ginger cat named Stelmaria. 

Shery is a Prefect for Hufflepuff and prefers to spend her time in the library, too shy to talk to people in the common room. She’s great at Charms, but is the “Hermione”/bookworm of all her classes, always raising her hand to answer questions. She gets detention one (1) time getting caught up in Chase’s shenanigans and is depressed for the entire year afterward. Once she gets involved in The Group, I imagine she knits them all house scarves for Christmas. OH and she’s passionate about freeing House Elves, forming a club with Tallys! She owns a snow-white rat named Kou. I imagine she works at the tea shop in Hogsmead after graduation for a gap year before going on to become either an OWL examiner or a renowned wand-maker!

Riel is a Prefect for Slytherin alongside Tallys and excels in History of Magic, though his performance in Defense Against the Dark Arts is weak, to his frustration. He and Blade form the two main heads of the “Investigative Club,” which becomes kind of like the opposite of the Marauders: a group of students who become the go-to for help, from missing pets to more sinister mysteries. Riel is sort of “the perfect detective” and de-facto leader of this group, alongside Blade, and can famously solve people’s mysteries within 72 hours (unless he says otherwise beforehand). He is a bit of a stickler for the rules, which brings him much stress and loathing when it comes to Chase, fellow Slytherin and unrepentant prankster. He most likely becomes Minister of Magic when he’s older. 

Chase is the Seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch team, pretty much the only thing he applies himself to despite a natural affinity for most types of magic. He mostly just goofs off in class, infuriating his teachers, despite the fact that he scores incredibly well on aptitude tests like the OWLs, especially in Potions, Defense against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration. Transfiguration is the only thing he’s really interested in learning, and he’s secretly an Animagus, transforming into a black cat at will. He possesses the Marauder’s Map and can usually be found dangling in the rafters and incensing ghosts like Peeves to wreak havoc in the school and introduce a bit of fun into the mix when classes are going slowly or people need cheering up. He’s always getting points taken away from Slytherin lmao. Riel has privately wished he could hex Chase many times. 

Red is a Prefect in Ravenclaw and is as universally popular as, say, Cedric Diggory was. He’s Seeker for the Ravenclaw team for a while, but eventually quits to focus on his studies. He excels in History of Magic, Charms, and other classes, but his strongest subject by far is Apparition. He loathes using portkeys and Flumes because they make him sick. He is always showered with requests to be his partner at the school balls and dances. Once, someone slips him a love potion smuggled inside chocolates, but his roommate Pan eats them before Red realizes they’re there, leading to some shenanigans. He comes from a long line of siblings and family members who attended the school--his older sisters were also all in Ravenclaw and also all prefects--leading to his name having something of a reputation among the students and staff. He has been caught and disciplined for being in the Forbidden Section of the library at least 7 times. He owns an ancient snowy owl named Archimetius. 

Ayla is the Seeker for Gryffindor and has made Quidditch her entire life. She is abysmal at pretty much all of her classes and generally copies her homework from Shery or Briony. She owns a magnificent barn owl named Asta whom she loves to ride her broom with and chase around. The topic of her family is an extremely sensitive subject, as her parents were struck with a curse when she was young, leading her to be raised by her grandfather, Belnus. She pulls the sword of Gryffindor out of the Sorting Hat in her fourth year. She almost certainly becomes a Quidditch player when she graduates.

Briony is a Chaser for the Gryffindor team and is known throughout the school for her unusually strong hexes, curses, charms, and spells, leading to her being recruited to the “Slug Club,” which she has no interest in actually participating in. Bubbly and talkative, she’s about as popular in the Gryffindor house as Red is in Ravenclaw, but she’s known to be less interested in actually dating and is quite flighty in her interests, making her hard to read. She’s known for taking forbidden excursions into the Dark Forest frequently, talking with the creatures and people who live there. She enters the Wizard’s Tournament and ends up fighting a dragon, then “accidentally” frees it; it’s later revealed that the same dragon now lives in the Forest and Briony brings it food every week or so, horrifying Riel. She punches Croelle in the face for calling her a mudblood, breaking his nose.

Lavinet is a beautiful transfer student from Beauxbatons who’s part Veela in heritage. As such, she is extremely popular in the school and does a lot of work in repairing the relations between high-born families in Slytherin with the rest of the Wizarding World. She is best at Charms and Arithmancy, while being horrible at Quidditch. She owns a white cat named Shishka, who’s always getting into fights with Tallys’ cat. Her family is extremely wealthy, leading to her being slightly out of touch when other students have hand-me-down books and robes. She always wears a beautiful, sparkling necklace, which turns out to be a protection against curses and dark magic. Although pure-blooded, she is passionate about treating Muggles equally and fairly, taking a lot of classes in Muggle Studies. She’s locked in a passionate struggle against the Daily Prophet because of the misinformation it tends to spread. She almost certainly grows up to be a diplomat. 

Mimir is basically the Luna Lovegood of the school and excels at Divination. That’s all I’ve got. Just replace Luna Lovegood with Mimir and we’re solid.

Caine is basically the Colin Creevey of the school: an excitable first-year who’s always taking pictures of everybody and being a little fanboy. He gets frozen by the basilisk, but don’t worry--he’s okay! He eventually grows up to replace Ayla as Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. 

Prihine is Lavinet’s lesser-known cousin in Hufflepuff who resents her cousin’s popularity and legacy. She gets tempted by Tom Riddle’s diary and has to be rescued by the Investigation Club in her third year. 

Croelle is the cruel and arrogant misfit of Gryffindor, exhibiting all the traits of a Slytherin and leading everyone to question why the Sorting Hat put him in Gryffindor instead. He comes from a high-born, pure-blooded family rumored to have been Dark wizards, which lends to his arrogance and defiance and standoffishness. His refusal to do what he’s told, however, proves to be the school’s salvation when he staunchly refuses to join the dark side, despite his relatives doing so gladly. He is cousins with the imprisoned werewolf who bit Trouble, fueling the enmity between himself and the Investigation Club.

Ultra Magnus for the meme?

How I feel about this character: Magnus is my joint fave character (not just in MTMTE, either- across most TF franchises), but IDW Mags is my favourite Mags especially. For like, a LOT of reasons, but especially because I relate to a lot of stuff that IDW puts him through in very specific ways, so. 🤷 (OCD having Magnus fanclub president right here!!!) I do actually think that after "season one" of MTMTE he's kind of not written consistently, however, which can give me a right headache sometimes. (To put it briefly, the more "in-focus" he is, the more he acts like Magnus is set up to be immediately post his arc on Luna-1, and the less in focus he is, the more he acts like none of that ever happened and he's been the same since issue #1, before we knew anything about him.) Anyway, I fucking love him, whatever, I'd die for that boy.

All the people I ship with this character: i am beginning to realize this is a bad meme question for me because i just, i will ship anything at least once, i literally go out of my way to try and create absolutely baffling pairings and try to Make Them Work. But if we're going with stuff I like really actively ship I guess Rodimus (anyone who has seen my blog knows this lmao), Rung (i will make this ship a thing if it fucking kills me), Nightbeat (DITTO), Rewind (everyone stares judgementally), idk Drift? ask me about my many mags ships i just love forcing him into awkward interactions its so FUN

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Ten! I wanted more Minimus and Ten actually!!! I wanted to SEE THEM interacting more, I love and am very soft for them.

My unpopular opinion about this character: uhhhh actually i'm not sure what IS popular/unpopular re: him because I think the strong opinions come out often more for characters people relate to directly, and I don't think Magnus is a character nearly as many people relate to as say, Rodimus or someone. I guess my main one is that I really do not vibe, at all, in any way, with Megatron/Magnus, which is like, THE main ship for his fandom. I actually specifically dislike a lot of the way their interactions shake out in canon narratively, even, for long complicated reasons I won't get into here. So. (No hate, just personal taste.)

One thing I wish would/had happened with this character in canon: i have said it before and i will say it again, going out of your way to connect the driving force of the CDRW conflict and a major series run-long subplot to a character who you make related to one of your primary characters and then never doing anything meaningful with that either plotwise or really even as relates to his arc is a really weird choice. i at LEAST want to know if this is something where something either got dropped or turned out not to fit like jro originally expected it to or something, it feels a really, really odd choice to me.
