Her family may own the building, but there's a certain nervousness that plagues Brie each time she steps foot into Golden Age. Not because of the Family, but her metaphorical line in the sand -- Taking a job at the law firm that works directly with the MC sent a message, especially when there's been so much quiet push back going on between the two factions. Not to the mention, the friend she was meeting up for was directly related to the Head of the Family. It creates a confusing knot in her stomach. Thankfully, she isn't left alone for long -- Gigi finally joins her, after shutting down the kitchen, or whatever it is that the brunette does to finish things up at the restaurant. The most experience Brie had in the kitchen was walking through it to get the private rooms in the back. Giving her friend a skeptical look, she continues to sip her wine -- Mostly to dull the strange need to glance over her shoulder. "You seem... chipper." Brie gives her friend a once over, knowing it's a rarity for Gigi not complain about how a chef chopped onions, or something that feels equally mundane to Brie. "It's unsettling."

          matthew bennett can count exactly on one hand how many times gigi has allowed him to cook for her so when the rare chance she agrees to it arises he jumps at it head first without any thought. he’s learned from minimum experience that having all of the stuff prepped for dinner before gigi’s arrival is a must if he doesn’t want to be micro managed so that’s what he’s doing when penny barks alerting him to gi’s presence. “ I hope you’re in the mood for chicken parm because that’s all I got. “ matty pauses his prepping to look up at her. “ They were out of panko bread crumbs though.” he teases fully knowing that he has some she made for him stocked up but wanting to see her infamous glare.

he is early. spots her from his spot, away from the reserved table, before he ashes the cigarette, glass in hand and makes his way back. “  hello — good to see you —ms galante, i’m louis. ”  lewis, he always says. he does the opposite of correct people when his name is read out loud, he wrongs them; the ones that think they know french, but from the backwater dumpster he is from ? he has always been louis — that is — lou-is. the ‘s’ is not fucking silent. “  i cannot say i’ve been familiar with your work, i was sent a reel just an hour ago, but i think i spotted you at vanity fair’s after party,  ”  and he never forgets a face.

Having his next drink, Tilman was checking out the scene of the place around him. People were really letting loose, huh? He couldn’t be surprised. This was the place to be. Absolutely nothing else exciting would be happening tonight in this city.

He’s bringing the amber liquid past his lips and he sees someone familiar. For whatever reason, rather than just ignoring someone he dislikes, he decides to approach them. Perhaps he’s just looking for trouble. “They’ll let anyone into these things now, huh?”

Yes, Brie had been avoiding Gigi. It's not uncommon for the two to go through bouts of no communication, but this hadn't been the aftermath of some petty fight or misunderstanding. If someone were to ask, it was her nose -- She'd spent the last two weeks working from home and icing her injury, grateful that the swelling and bruising had mostly healed by now. At least, enough to cover any other offending marks with makeup, so that she didn't have to hide behind sunglasses. No, the truth had nothing to do with her injury -- And everything to do with her ex, the one Gigi called a best friend. The blonde still wasn't entirely sure how to categorize that night. She hadn't been drunk or high or anything of the sort -- Just emotional, running on adrenaline and feelings she'd thought she'd buried deep. She could only assume Gigi knew what happened, that the sweats Gabe had let her borrow for her walk of shame the next morning were now hanging over her desk chair, taunting her.

She couldn't avoid the woman forever, unfortunately -- Which is why she finds herself sitting across from Gigi now. She's supposed to be looking over her brunch menu, but Brie hasn't read anything in front of her. All she's done is down two bottomless mimosas and silently try to read Gigi's mind. "I can't believe you made me come to a place that serves Margaritas at brunch." Brie speaks up, shaking her head. Thank god for her years of pageantry -- It's made her poker face unmatched, expertly hiding what she's actually feeling. "It's sacrilege."
