i like to imagine ed and eddy teaching double d how to play video games (they're playing mario kart 8 deluxe while calling on discord lol)

(also side note: double d would so be the kind of gamer who builds their own high quality pc with really good specs and high processing speed... only to use it to play games like sims 4 and hello kitty island adventure lmao)

i’m in love with trans double d headcanons (transfem or transmasc)!! it’s a hc that makes a ton of sense even in the context of the show :333

before i get into this i wanted to say that i am not a trans guy, so if how i’m phrasing all this is transphobic in any way please let me know! on that note, unfortunately a lot of what i wanted to mention can be seen as signs of transphobia from other characters (including misgendering) so general tw for that…  

i also want to say that of course trans headcanons don’t need ‘proof’! if you hc a character as trans, then that’s enough! these are just some instances that i think help support the theory. 

alright *cracks knucks* let’s do this shit. 

first of all i wanted to mention a few things he owns/wears, like a hairpin - 

(i think the only other character shown wearing hairpins was nazz) 

and it seems like he might have pierced ears (they could be clip ons but i can’t remember eddy or ed ever wearing earrings) - 

he also apparently owns pantyhose - 

(in context, he uses it to cover his head after escaping from his room when eddy and ed tie his hat to his ceiling light, so they almost definitely had to be in his room) 

secondly, i think his middle name is really interesting (marion, pronounced like ‘mary-ann’) especially considering what he tells eddy about names: 

‘be proud of it, because it’ll be with you for the rest of your life’. 

at first i thought it could be kind of unrealistic to think of it as his birthname if he still uses it as a middle name, but i think that line puts it in a really interesting context. 

i also wanted to say that it could be likely that he has some kind of embarrassing hairstyle under his hat, based on eddy and ed’s reactions. 

‘jeez louise’ and ‘cool’. it could be something unsightly in some way, but what makes me think its something about his hair is their secondary reactions. after the initial shock they both go about their business and don’t seem that bothered or unsettled by it, as if it wasn’t THAT surprising or strange. eddy’s next line is ‘i’ll just save it and use it for ammo when i need to’.

eddy’s reactions in particular seem really in-keeping with it being a haircut - even in BPS. 

‘MY EYES! THEY’RE BURNING!’ seems like such a ‘bad’ hairstyle joke to me (and it would make better sense of the hairpin!) 

i also want to mention bro’s reaction to meeting double dee, but unfortunately the implication is pretty cissexist - that he somehow ‘looks’ or ‘seems’ like a girl, for eddy’s brother to misgender him. 

‘why’s your girlfriend wearin’ a sock on her head’. lastly i’ll say that i know double dee’s been shown without a shirt a few times, but i don’t think that should debunk everything for a few reasons, particularly because of the designs of all the cul-de-sac kids - 

even the oldest kids are only 12/possibly 13 at most, and none of them have ‘noticeable’ chests (i can’t think of a better/less creepy way to phrase that :/ ) 

(tw for transphobia) as for his parents using the right name while also showing signs of transphobia towards him (like pressuring him to keep his hair a certain way), i personally hc that he isn’t out to his extended family, which would make sense of him having a keep certain haircut and owning pantyhose. ; ~ ;
