It was raining when Adrienne was born. Maybe that was the first tell of the path she would be walking. Or, maybe it was the intention of her given name; Adrienne: dark woman or dark waters. There was some odd fascination with the darker things in life. Growing up attending more funerals than weddings, can anyone really blame her on that impact? Though, her nickname was Jynx due to the chaos that would spiral in her presence. For instance, her grandmother's ashes going missing when they were addressed to her apartment, or traveling all the way to California just for a once in a lifetime storm to be passing through and the festival being cancelled, or every color she calls for Roulette being the wrong one and her friend then going into the negatives with funds. Though she was labeled as an outcast and was seen as the black sheep in the family because of this, she still had something about her that drew people in. She had a great group of friends, and her fair share of experimental relationships. In short: she didn't miss anything, but she wouldn't have cared if she did. Her aunt was the one who taught her about spirituality after Adrienne had a paranormal experience at the age of 5. Whilst being in a Catholic household, Adrienne and her aunt would often sneak in order to practice their own eclectic belief. Magic, tarot cards, seances, you name it - Adrienne has dabbled in it. What no one was expecting was for her to make a career move out of it. It started in high school, she helped assist her teacher in their paranormal investigation group. It was through this teacher that she learned about anomalies and the role of the paranormal in anthropology. Her job as an investigator was just the groundwork for her BA in Parapsychology with a minor in Religious Studies at Stockton Univeristy, where she studied the connections of the paranormal and demons with the human psyche. She then went on to gain her MA in Magick and Occult Science with a specialization in Women and Minority Studies where she learned more about the occult across various religions and cultures as well as witchcraft and the impact and power women have within interaction, at Salem State University. At this point in her career, she can be seen as an expert in the occult as well as a demonologist. She actually works alongside various religious institutions, is still a researcher for a paranormal investigation team, and is also hosts a podcast about horror movies, the paranormal and the occult.

Adrienne is one of those people who can attract and attract and attract, but still feel alone underneath the surface. She can be sarcastic and condescending if someone asks a question she deems as 'stupid'. She's known to bully as her type of flirting. She's actually not online, and prefers it that way. She's clever and witty and goes on passion-dump sprees about her line of work and conspiracies pretty often, or about her research or podcast. Esmeray was born to two loving parents, both of whom adored their daughter with everything they had. She was the only child of Zehar and Ömer Yildiz. Shortly before her arrival into this world the Yildiz’s moved from Turkey to Merrock, Maine. See even though moving to Merrock had been part of the plan for years, getting pregnant with Esmeray wasn’t. Regardless, her parents were delighted when they found out.

Growing up Esmeray was a happy child at home. She was so infectious with her laughter and smile that her family quickly nicknamed her “Sol,“ and the name was one she fell in love with from a young age. She tried her hardest to live up to it every day.

For some reason, one Esme couldn’t seem to understand, the kids in her grade always looked at her funny. The girls never wanted to talk to her about anything, no-one made an effort to sit with her at lunch, during gym she would always get picked last, and her locker usually had some sort of goop or slime smeared on it as ‘the prank of the day.’

She found her escape in books and gardening. One day she picked up a copy of ‘Harry Potter’ and the brunette was hooked since. It wasn’t long before she was trying to read as many books as possible, from all different genres. If she wasn’t reading, then she was listening to audiobooks while she gardened.

With a lot of hard work, she ended up graduating top of her class, and her parents were proud. After graduation Esmeray took some time to travel around Europe for a bit. She did some backpacking and, in her adventures, met many lovely, and not so lovely, people along the way. She went to places like Paris, Peru, Japan, China, Egypt, and Prague. She spent some time in Turkey but only when her parents would go visit family there.

Juniper was born into high society, here at Merrock. Thanks to her parents who were sharks in the attorney vein; helping the higher-end businessmen win over the little guys. It wasn't something she understood at such a young age, but what she did know was: Keep your voice low but your head held high. She grew up in a household of competition. Not only between her parents with their respective careers, but also between her older brother, younger brother, and herself in the ways of academics and sports. No one would ever want to be around the family on Friday night game nights. And honestly, Juno couldn't really blame her friends for that. Thinking back, she wonders often if this is where her need to speak up for herself came from. Each Riggs sibling was the top of their grade. Juniper found that the more she was in school and learning about the world, the more she felt alienated in high society life. She started to not attend galas and she started to let her hair down and throw caution to the wind when she hit her middle school and high school years. Though her beliefs changed, she still held education to a high degree of importance and never slacked in that field of her life. Rebelling against her parents was not what anyone was expecting from her, let alone her choice in career. Though, the lawyer aspect was a given (all Riggs siblings turned out to be lawyers), they never expected her to go against businesses and corporations and stand with the individuals who genuinely were being fucked over. Juno attended Harvard Law, and graduated with high honors. She went on to debate and go up against her own family in court through her career. Sometimes there were draws, other times she rung them dry. Juno is a force to be reckoned with. Sharp as a whip, she tends to cut deep with her words and is highly aware of it. Basically, just don't debate her, okay? Julian or Juju as he was so affectionately nicknamed, had a pretty great life. Surrounded by love and siblings, there wasn't much Julian could complain about, his love for video games was even supported, his parents buying him whatever game he would rave about for weeks, telling them all about the different mechanics and graphics within this virtual world. Life as an adult was rather awkward as he felt that his siblings had something which he lacked, charisma. They could draw any eyes to themselves and he felt himself nothing more than a wallflower. And maybe that's why he was so shocked when a friend from work introduced him to what would be his fiancé. A whirlwind romance, and he never caught onto the signs of anything being wrong. Julian didn't see the lies being told and the manipulation by those he had considered friends and the man who supposedly loved him back. That love story didn't last long as Julian had caught the man cheating and when he asked for the explanation, he was met with the cruelest of truths. All a lie, nothing more than a green-card, he was a pathetic ugly loser, or at least, that was what was said to him. So after breaking the engagement off he fled and dug himself deeper into his work, now with bigger and better companies, but those words still cling onto his skin.

✩ PERSONALITY: Joon is a quiet and intense type of person on the surface; just by looking at him, you would think he was mysterious, intimidating. JOONKI was only twelve when his parents divorced, which he thought was long coming because of how often they fought throughout the years. he always wondered why they stayed together for so long, had himself and his younger sibling before splitting, but he never asked. it wasn’t his place, and he was far too focused on keeping his eight year old sibling out of all of the drama, distracting her with games and bike rides and whatever else he could. after the divorce, their father moved across state and lost contact, and for the next few years the only contact they had with him were birthday cards with a couple dollars tucked inside.

HE wasn’t all too broken up about it, but it did sting, and his sibling’s tears over him were salt on the wound that grew to be a deep resentment towards their father for abandoning their family and hurting his sibling in result of it. they would always ask joon why he didn’t love them enough to stay, why he couldn’t have at least stayed in town or called just so they could hear his voice. joonki’s hacking career began with the curiosity surrounding his father’s evasiveness, so he began snooping around places that he shouldn’t have on the internet.

YEARS passed and he ended up used his developed hacking skills for other freelance jobs as well just for money, but he kept on with the search for their father for his sibling’s sake. only, once joon did find out where he was, he tried his best to keep it hidden for purely selfish reasons; he didn’t think their father deserved to see his children, not after how badly he’d hurt his youngest.

COME joonki’s twenty-second and his sibling’s eighteenth birthdays, no generic card without a return address came in the mail like it had year after year before. he was suspicious, yes, but not worried like his younger sibling was. a few weeks after their birthday, they came to him with an address that their mother had been keeping from them for years, belonging to their father, or so they claimed. while he’d been keeping tabs on the man for quite some time, he kept that information to himself, and let the younger walker sibling believe that he was just as shocked as they were at the revelation. joon couldn’t help but wonder, though, and that was what eventually had him giving in to his sibling’s incessant begging to take a roadtrip to merrock, maine in search of their father.

MERROCK seemed to be a dead end for the pair of siblings, however unfortunately literal that had to be. they found that their father had been missing for months, but the air of mystery around the case was what had them wanting to stay in the city. there were no records of his life there, and the address they were given was an abandoned house at the corner of a street that was just as creepy as the shattered windows visible from the sidewalk. joonki’s younger sibling wanted to feel closer to him, and joon wanted to know what exactly happened to him, so they got an apartment together in the downtown district and he promised them he would find out what happened. joon was hacking into official files, immensely curious about the case that just didn’t seem to have any clues, almost like his disappearance was barely looked into from the beginning. like he didn’t exist in the town at all.

EVENTUALLY, joonki and his sibling settled down in town. he was able to come to terms with the fact that their father was nowhere to be found after over a year of looking into it, joon probably having more knowledge about the case than any of the cops or detectives involved... and he gave up looking into the disappearance. it was chalked up to the man possibly getting lost at sea, but even then.. his sibling swore to never forgive him for giving up on their father. their relationship was still strong, but they grew apart due to their resentment, and he wondered if his sibling would ever even speak to him again if they knew he was aware of their father’s stay in merrock years and years prior.

JOON continued his education at the local community college while they were there, obtaining his associate's degree in business administration and then going on to work as a bookkeeper at bardales inc. it was originally to keep tabs on anything regarding the house that his father supposedly stayed at during his time there, but since leaving that obsession behind, has come to enjoy his place of employment. he's not sure if he wants to stay in merrock forever, but he's got a life there and wants to make the most of it.

Born in Merrock in 1989, Hanna was born into a large family of four children. She was a middle child, and although they were all close in age, they were all extremely different. But on the sports field is where she was the most comfortable, with her being quiet and introverted when she retreated home. She had excellent grades and received a sports scholarship to college.

After graduating with a medical science degree, Hanna trained as a paramedic and first responder. Although, not the most exciting job in a town like Merrock it is a job she thoroughly enjoys. It keeps her out and about and she is always on the road rather than chained to a desk. Hanna throws herself into her work most days and nearly never has time to sit back and enjoy herself.

But when she does get free time, Hanna enjoys yoga and exploring her spiritual side. You can often find her at the Azure spa, Breathe in or hiking along the cliff’s.

Friendships: Roommate, the pair met in their late twenties and have lived together ever since.

Childhood friends: Hanna was born in Merrock so she has many friends from childhood clubs, or other children from the neighbourhood.

Colleagues: Working as a paramedic is emotionally tolling and your colleagues can end up like your family.

Friends from hobbies: Hanna loves yoga, spa days and believes heavily in crystals and her own spiritualism. She would have a group of friends now who continue this with her.
