Fortunately, commissioner, my cave is equipped with an anti-highway auxiliary defense. Which compensates for any proposed human infrastructure developments.
Madla's Cave Meshweaver (Cicurina madla)
San Antonio area, Texas, USA
Status: Endangered

I think I've gotten less squeamish of insects since starting this blog. Even fond of some of them. But not spiders. Sorry.

A common type of freighter from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The same model was used for the Sanction in "Symbiosis," the Erstwhile in "The Outrageous Okona," and the Arcos in "Legacy" (and in different configurations it portrayed additional ships in further episodes). The physical model was created by Greg Jein and Bruce MacRae, and a computer-generated model was created by Douglas E. Graves to replace missing footage when the latter two episodes were remastered. That digital model probably formed the basis for these images credited to Fabio Passaro from Eaglemoss' Official Starships Collection.

Tiny Arachnids are tough to ID with certainty, I am thinking this is a Wide Ribbon Meshweaver spider (Emblyna sublata)... or any darned name you want to call it.
(Quick reminder, I am a completely self-taught idiot, so none of my IDs should ever be taken as gospel.)

The mech walked through the nemesis.... before stopping at the medbay ....
@exiled-megs
Bergschrund looked back while throwing out a used meshweave for anesthetic, and could not have possibly anticipated who he would find. It didn't show though, as besides a quick salute to acknowledge he was there, the medbay was hardly a place where operations could just be dropped. Berg was sure to verbally make clear he knew Megatron's role though. Lord Megatron!

Spidersona time! Wanted to make one for a while but I couldn't come up with a satisfying idea for their design. But he exists now- yippee! Not entirely satisfied with it but meh.
They're based off of jumping spiders, meshweavers, and orbweavers. He doesn't talk when in suit therefore they earned the name Silent-Spider. Very expressive and confident.

The spider at the top is a meshweaver!!
I had never heard of this kind of spider. They make up the family Dictynidae and they're usually really small.
Apparently they use cribillate silk to catch stuff which is silk that's really fluffy and uses electric forces instead of sticky goo!

The Green Meshweaver!
Celia: 24, she/her, artist, student
While studying plants to photograph (for her art class abroad), she was bitten by a very scared and very shy Green Meshweaver spider. It was very very much more afraid of her than she was of it. She absolutely loves bugs, but moths especially. With huge hopes, Celia dreams of becoming an entomologist someday. (So why is she going to art school?!) She loves both art and entomology but cannot decide which path to choose.
I hope you love Celia’s design as much as I do! I’m pretty proud of this :^))) <3

“We should all have a sleepover tomorrow,” Rung mumbles, sleepily clinging to the arm of his usual chair as he presses his cheek to the meshweave and starts to doze off. “Recharge in a pile. I’ve always loved that…”

It’s time for everybody’s favorite segment: BAD PHOTOS OF UNVERIFIED NEW SPECIMENS THAT I HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO FIND AGAIN!

Thought to be a meshweaver / family Dictynidae; odds are on genus Dictyna but ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My gut on this one says triangulate cobweb spider / Steatoda triangulosa. The legs don’t look QUITE right for a Theridiid but it’s also a pretty bad angle. Spiders in the Steatoda genus are also called “false widows,” and some species can resemble black widows very closely.
