tv girl is a fine band but they’ve got only one sound. it’s a specific, and decently unique one, and if you don’t like it then that’s it, that’s kind of the end. a low & a high voice singing the exact same melody, not harmonizing, at basically the exact same volume/place in the mixing (they’ve got highly produced music); lo-fi instrumentation (drum loops & synths) featuring odd, usually non-musical samples. i think the genre they mainly play under is called dream pop and if it isn’t then i don’t know what dream pop is or what their sound is. if i’m not careful my brain gets fed up of the dual vox sound and it then is abrasive. that’s a me thing. occasionally they’re just solo vox. it’s interesting how the instrumental choice and use of samples makes every individual song sound unique but the way all of the vocals are delivered almost identically & somewhat monotonously, without inflection, like the sacrifice they had to make for having two peoples’ voices was not a sole person’s emotion, makes them run together somewhat regardless. helps that the lyrics don’t do much to hook me. like it’s something something romance, and they tell their thing in a way that’s the slightest bit avant-garde or off the beaten path. i do mean the pop part of dream pop

The Andromeda Galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy and is the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way. It was originally named the Andromeda Nebula and is cataloged as Messier 31, M31, and NGC 224.

Explanation: An intriguing pair of interacting galaxies, M51 is the 51st entry in Charles Messier's famous catalog. Perhaps the original spiral nebula, the large galaxy with whirlpool-like spiral structure seen nearly face-on is also cataloged as NGC 5194. Its spiral arms and dust lanes sweep in front of a companion galaxy (right), NGC 5195. Some 31 million light-years distant, within the boundaries of the well-trained constellation Canes Venatici, M51 looks faint and fuzzy to the eye in direct telescopic views. But this remarkably deep image shows off stunning details of the galaxy pair's striking colors and extensive tidal debris. A collaboration of astro-imagers using telescopes on planet Earth combined over 10 days of exposure time to create this definitive galaxy portrait of M51. The image includes 118 hours of narrowband data that also reveals a vast glowing cloud of reddish ionized hydrogen gas discovered in the M51 system.

Spiral Galaxies

These galaxies resemble giant rotating pinwheels with a pancake-like disk of stars and a central bulge or tight concentration of stars. Our own Milky Way is a spiral galaxy and is actually on course to colliding with our closest neighbor, the Andromeda galaxy, also known as Messier 31 (M31) which is another spiral galaxy located about 2.5 million light years away. It's on course to collide with the Milky Way in about 5 billion years.

The spirals in a spiral galaxy can be wound tight or loose and because they are pancake-like, we often cannot see them as we observe space at a sideways angle.

Spiral galaxies are surrounded by halos, or mixtures of old stars, star clusters, and dark matter. The youngest stars form in the arms of the spiral galaxy that are more gas rich while older stars are found throughout the disc and within the bulge and halo.

Both the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxies are a subtype known as barred spirals, which make up two-thrids of the group. They support ribbons of stars, gas, and dust that cut across their centers. Scientists think that a bar indicates that a galaxy has reached full maturity.
