This $43,000 Luxury Meteorite Purse Is Literally Out of This World
By Spooky, 24 March 2023
Tumblr media
French luxury accessory brand Coperni recently unveiled a "limited-edition meteorite handbag" that is hand-carved from a meteorite that fell on Earth thousands of years ago.
It can be yours for just €40,000 ($43,000).
As part of its Fall/Winter 23 fashion collection, Coperni has created a unique handbag that ‘combines archeology, design, as well as classical and primitive art.’
The Mini Meteorite Swipe Bag has the general shape of the brand’s iconic swipe bag, but a rougher finish, which makes sense considering that it’s hand-sculpted out of rock.
And not just any rock, but a real meteorite, hence the name.
The bag showcased on the Coperni online store supposedly contains a piece of meteorite estimated to have fallen on Earth 55,000 years ago, but because each purse is unique, the shape and color may vary slightly.
Tumblr media
The Coperni Meteorite bag measures 9 x 12 x 23 centimeters, but you’re probably more concerned about the weight.
It’s supposed to be around two (2) kilograms, quite heavy for an empty bag, so you’ll need a bit of strength if you actually plan on carrying it around.
The French fashion house also stated that each meteorite will be individually sourced per each order and can come from various locations, depending on where the meteorite fell on earth.
Because of the bespoke nature of this unusual handbag, each purchase is non-refundable.
Some sources claim that depending on the size and quality of the meteorite incorporated in the stone purse, the price can be higher than 40,000 euros, but we have found no such information on the Coperni online store.
In case you’re considering getting one, each Coperni Mini Meteorite Swipe Bag has an expected delivery time of about 6 weeks.

Currently stuck on a 12 hour long car trip- it's been 5 hours and I got so bored I made an entire list of what presents each character would like in my FHS AU, based on DR1's MonoMono Machine (MaiMai Machine?). Freddy isn't here because he's protag, he gets no presents.
If you want the full list of items with their descriptions and images, it's here in the Danganronpa Wiki. I believe every student should have 4 loved items and 10/11 liked ones? So I did it like that.

‘Tonight is the night!’ Diane thought happily as she got a diamond necklace on as she listened to the news.
She’s wearing the outfit that Lou made for her and two blue heels that she had with her. She’s also got two bracelets, a diamond one on her right wrist and a golden loop one on her left wrist.
The news mostly talked about the Gala for goodness and the Love Creator Meteorite will be shown to the public for the first time. The news also talked about the video of Diane saving Olive and how everyone started to not fear her.
Diane smiled as she looked at Olive, who was on one of the bunk beds, licking his paw. “So, what do you think, Oli?” she asked as she spun around to show him. Olive smiled at her and meowed happily. He jumped off of the bed and went to her, wanting to be picked up.
Diane chuckled softly and picked him up. She looked at as he nuzzled close. “Hey, Oli.” Daine said softly. The kitten looked up at her as she continued, “When this gala is done, I’m coming back for you and then we’ll go.” ‘With the Golden Dolphin.’ she thought to herself as the kittin smiled and licked her nose, causing her to chuckle.
She puts Olive down and gets her handbag as she exits the room. “I’ll be back.” she reassured the kittin, smiling.
Before Daine went to the main hall to exit the place, she stopped in the living room, because her last teammate was there, Pam Kitty Cat.
The fox gasped softly and smiled big as the lioness smiled back at her, chuckling, “Well, you look like a queen.”
Diane blushed and smiled softly. “Thanks, Pamla.”
Pam nodded as they walked to the door. Diane noticed that Pam wasn’t just wearing anything fancey, just plain black pants, white shirt, and a gray vest. “You're not coming?”
Pam shrugged and replied, “You’ll probably see me and the girls for like a glismp.”
Dina smiled and nodded. “Okay.” she said waving bye to her as she went.
Cuddles waited for her by the limo. He smiled as he opened the door for her. “Thank you, Cuddles.” Diane said, smiling back as she got in.
☆◇
Diane smiled during the drive to the gala as she reviewed her plan in her mind.
She knows that The Golden Dolphin will be in a titanium case controlled by a randomly generated five-digit code and the code is in case that’s handcuffed to the chief of police, but she has a plan to get it. She’ll secure the fake Dolphin and plant cirit jammers and download to override the power grid. At the end of the night, she’s going to give a toast to the Professor and when she says ‘Marmalade’, the lights will go out and she’ll have six seconds to make a move to do a switcheroo. When Chief hands the fake Dolphin, Diane will get her pardon, applause and applause, exit stage, and by the time they realize what happened, she’ll be gone in the sunset, with Olive, legacy cemented.
Soon as the car stopped, she’s at the Gala.
The Gala was outside, it was near where the Meteorite hit the city.
The car door opened and Diane looked down to see Professor Marmalade, dressed in a wonderful red suit, smiling up at her. “Well, Ms Paw. This is it!” the Professor exclaimed happily. Before Diane got out of the car, Marmalade added, “All eyes are going to be on you tonight, not me.”
Diane hummed and got out of the car after the ‘pep talk’, Professor Marmalade faced the huge crowd of guests and announced for all to hear, “Friends, meet The good Fox!”
Everyone turned their heads and looked at The Paw in silence… before they went into loud cheers and applause.
To Diane, this was new to her from a huge crowd. Never before, for most of her life,  have seen everyone so… happy to see her.
Diane starts to smile softly as she walks to join the party. ‘Okay… fake Dolphin, fake Dolphin, fake Dolphin…’ she thought as she looked. She found a fake Dolphin on a table and was about to go to get it but a few people quickly went to her.
“Ms Paw!” one exclaimed excitedly. “Miss Paw! Is it true that foxes are connected to fire and the sun?” one asked excitedly.
Diane stared at them for a moment, surprised and somewhat confused, as she thought that she’ll work on the jammers, said, “I-what? Are foxes connected to fire and the sun? I say that some ancestors were but I say it’s a myth.”
She walked with a few people, answering some burning questions that they had as she secretly planted cirit jammers.
When Diane was alone, she looked at her golden loop bracelet, which has a hidden compartment lid to see a screen for downloading for the blackout percent and see through the case when she’s close to the chief, a recorder so she could remember this moment when she does her speech, and the button for the blackout.
The small screen for the download showed 5% and going up quickly.
She closed the lid with a soft click, got a fake Dolphin when no one was looking, and put it in her handbag.
She noticed a few kids carrying metal boxes, probably connected to the heart on the screen on the stage, showing numbers of money. The Love meteorite was above the screen, to be seen by all. ‘Why have kids do that? Cute faces, maybe.’ she thought. She also noticed that there's maps of the city and the places where the charity money will go to. She picked one up and put it in her bag as she walked.
Then a few people went up to her, excited. “Ms Paw!” some exclaimed. “It’s a pleasure to meet you!” one said.
Diane turned to them, this time smiling at them. “The pleasure is all mine.” Diane said, doing a small bow to them. When she looked back up, she saw the Governor in the distance.
Moe Wolf was dressed in a blue suit.
He noticed her and waved at her while one of the people asked, “Mind I take a photo for my kids?”
Diane started to get nervous but she calmly said, “Excuse me… I need a moment.” Then she disappeared into the crowd, looking for Chief, letting the Governor to be confused.
When Diane found Chief Misty Luggins, she was by the bar, with binoculars, probably looking for her. The case is on the bar.
Diane smiled as she went to her and tapped on her shoulder.
Chief Misty Luggins turned around, with the binoculars still over her eyes, and jumped when she saw Daine, throwing the binoculars up in the air.
Diane caught the binoculars before they hit the floor. “That would have been bad.” she said, handing them to the Chief.
Chief glared at her as she took them back. “Agreed…”
“Why do you even have them tonight? I mean, I know that you’re working, but loosen up if you can.” Diane said, sitting down next to her. She got the hidden compartment lid opened and had her other hand covering the lid as it quietly scans the case to see inside.
Chief Misty looked offended and said, “Well, I was going to order a drink.”
While the Chief ordered her drink, Diane took a quick peek to look at her bracelet.
The download was at 54% and it just finished scanning: showing the code.
The code: 1 2 3 4 5
‘Of course.’ Diane thought as she rolled her eyes and she closed the hidden compartment lid with a small click, which got Chief’s attention.
Chief looked at her, while holding her drink, and asked, “Did you make a sound?”
Diane, panicked, shook her head. “No.”
Chief glared and started to get close to her, making Diane start to sweat and her ears flat to her head.
Then from the speakers, there was a loud “HELLO EVERYBODY!!!!”
Everyone looked at the stage, including Daine and Chief, causing Chief to give Diane some space.
Pepe is on the stage by the main microphone, smiling at the audience. “How are we doing tonight!” he exclaimed excitedly.
“Good!” Everyone cheered.
‘What’s Pepe doing?’ Diane thought with a confused smile.
“I’m gonna sing a new song! But I didn’t write the song.” Pepe explained. “And the artist isn’t here to my knowledge but her friend is! Diane!”
The fox’s ears went straight up in surprise while everyone looked at her. Then someone picked her up, put her on their shoulder, and yelled, “Found her!”
Diane looked to see who picked her up.
It was Lou.
She smiled at him while Lou asked the Chief, “Mind if I take her?”
Chief nodded. “Go ahead.”
Lou smiled and took Diane, who was still on his shoulder, to the stage. Diane saw that everyone was smiling at her as she went to the stage with Lou.
When they got to the stage, Pepe stepped to the side for her, but before she went to the microphone, Herbert stopped her for a moment and pointed at her bag. “You’ll get it back after this whole thing,” he whispered, almost reassuring, “okay?”
Diane nodded slowly and handed it to him. Herbert puts her handbag on the DJ station table, where Stefanie was, waving at her. Diane waved back softly and went to the microphone.
“Okay…” Diane breathed before she spoke into the microphone, “This song is very special to me. This song was made by a friend of mine. Most of you would have known her as The Wild Rose Quartz but I knew her as Emily Lou.” Diane chuckled softly before she continued, “This song was going to let the world know that my team and I… were going to go good.”
This news shocked everyone that most gasped. There was also the sound of a dropping glass and shattered, probably from the chief.
Diane nodded and continued, “Yep… but you all are not here for a story… you’re all here to celebrate the good and to party. So, without further ado, I hand the mic to Mr Pepe Piranha!” Diane stepped to the side so Pepe could step up to the mic and went to go offstage.
Diane noticed that all four teammates were wearing blue outfits.
"You guys look great, by the way." she whispered to Stefanie. The tarantula smiled at her as she got offstage.
When the fox joined the crowd, Pepe started to sing; “Look… at me! Tell me what… you see? Am I good… or bad? Don’t you judge… so fast. Hey, hey, hey!”
The crowd started to cheer as the color of the lights became from light blue to a light purple. Diane smiled at the music picked up.
“I know you think that you know me. You made your conclusions. You think that I‘m scary, well that’s your own delusion. Listen what I tell you, there's more than meets the eye. So take a closer look to find a real good guy!”
Diane jumped when she heard the Governor call out to her, “Ms Paw.”
“Mr Moe Wolf!” she exclaimed as she turned around to face him, her focus now on him.
Moe chuckled softly, “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that you’re avoiding me, until you got you on stage.”
Diane looked surprised at him. “Avoiding all of you?! What makes you say that?” she chuckled nervously before she sighed. “It was surprising when Pepe did that announcement thing and when Lou got me up there. I was not prepared for that…”
Moe hummed and nodded, his arms crossed his chest. “Okay, but I hope that you don’t mind me asking.”
Diane nodded to him, nervousness on her face. “Go ahead.”
Then Moe Wolf offered his hand to her and asked, “Mind if we dance?”
“Oh!” Diane exclaimed softly and took his hand.
“-And get up on the Floor! We’re gonna be Good Tonight!”
Diane dusted herself before she danced with Moe. They both start to have a good time dancing.
At one point of the dance, Moe commented, “I notice that you lost the prey’s clothing.”
“Yeah, I wanted to be the real me.” Diane said as the lights became a dark pink to a light pink as more money was given.
“I think that I like the new you.” Moe said as he danced with Diane.
“Well, that makes two of us.” Diane commented, smiling during the dance.
On stage, Pepe, while he was singing, Lou, who just got a trumpet, and Herbert, who was playing the bass, jumped into the crowd to join the party and continued to play the music. Everyone is dancing, even the Chief of police.
Diane felt alive, more alive than before, as she danced and laughed.
She saw Tiffany Fluffit and her cameraman, recording the event. For whatever reason, she waved at the camera before going back to dance.
Moe spins with Diane and picks her up. The music sounded faded and slowed as the both of them were smiling at each other. “So… how does it feel to not be feared for a change?” Moe asked as he put Diane down on her feet. Diane paused for a moment as she looked at everyone who was around them.
Everyone is cheering and having fun.
Diane looked at her tail, which was wagging a lot under her skirt. “It feels… Good.” the fox replied softly. “Real good.”
Then Diane held Moe’s hands in her’s. “Moe,” she started, smiling at the wolf as she put his pocket watch with the five diamonds on it in his paws, making Moe gasp in surprise, “it belongs to you.”
Moe smiled back as they went back to dance more with the music going back to the fast and loud beat as the lights became golden yellow.
Pepe, Lou, and Herbert were back on the stage, still playing the music. “We’re the Good Good Guys!”
Moe and Diane held their hands as they ran onto the stage and spined each other. Diane dipped Moe as the song finished, both breathing heavily and smiling at each other.
Diane got Moe upright as the heart on the screen on the stage, showing numbers of money got to the goal for the charities!
Professor Marmalade came on stage, talking into the microphone, “Thank you Ms Paw! And thank you everyone! We have reached our goal! Now all of the money that has been donated tonight will go to the different charities throughout the city!”
While everyone cheered, Diane looked at her golden bracelet’s hidden compartment lid opened and had her other hand covering the lid to see that the download was complete at 100%.
Diane smiled as she stepped up next to Professor Marmalade, her hand still over her bracelet. “Mind if I give a speech?” she asked Professor Marmalade.
The Professor nodded and stepped to the side to let her be front center stage.
Diane took in a breath, ready to press the button, and said to the crowd, “It’s been an honor to learn and start to blossom the flower within. A huge thanks goes to-” Diane stopped as she looked at Moe, Herbert, Lou, Stefanie, and Pepe.
They’re smiling at her. It reminded her of the photo of her and her team. For some reason, something inside her told her: ‘This is wrong… go good.’
She sighed a bit before she closed the hidden compartment lid again with a small click. “To Professor Marmalade!” she exclaimed, smiling and finished her small speech. She moved back a bit to let the Professor have the spotlight as everyone cheered and noticed that the Chief just got the Golden Dolphin out of the titanium case.
“Chief,” Diane said, facing the Chief, “may I do the honors?”
The Chief was hesitant at first but handed the Golden Dolphin to her. Diane smiled a bit sadly, knowing that this is probably the close of her holding the Dolphin, as she hands it to Professor Marmalade.
The Professor smiled big as he showed the Golden Dolphin to the audience while Diane looked down before she noticed Moe walk over to her, a proud smile on his face. “A deal is a deal.” he said to her, sounding happy for her. The team nodded in agreement.
Diane felt that she was going to cry as Moe turned to the audience and started, “In the power infested by me-”
But he was interrupted by a black out, making everyone confused.
It lasted for five seconds until the lights came back on, a white screen on the stage. “That… was odd.” Diane commented, confused like everyone else.
Then one person from the crowd points above the screen and shout, "The meteorite is gone!"
Everyone looks up at where the meteorite was placed:
It was gone!

Of interest to Flintstones fans especially
From this week's edition of the syndicated "News of the Weird" column, ultimately via the website of Milwaukee's alternative weekly Shepherd Express:

Pandora - Perfect Date
“The perfect date is the one where anything and everything goes wrong, but at the end of it, all you want is to see them again”
-Dylan O'Brien
The last time she was at the cinema, she was on a date.
Back during her school days, she was always too busy for dates. Her mother would always tell her to go out and enjoy her life as a teenager but Haruka could never do anything outside of her family without feeling guilty. Her mother was single with three children to raise while working three jobs just to put food on the table, she could never go to the theme park with her friends where she had to spend money while her mother struggled with babysitting and working.
Since their first year of high school, he had been stuck around her. Every morning, there would be a small carton of strawberry milk on her desk after she mentioned that it was her favourite once. He was the most charismatic player on the court, keeping his cool whenever the team was down by a few baskets, yet he would stutter and blush like he had been standing under the sun for a week whenever he was near her. He asked her out on a date and although she felt like she should not, Haruka said yes. That was the only date she ever went on.
Glancing to Eisuke beside her, Haruka was reminded of her one and only date. Apart from the fact that Eisuke had the ability to buy all the seats so they were the only ones there. She never thought about having a date since her mother passed away, and she had long since forgotten what it was like to be on one though her youngest sister was always pestering for her to. Was this a date?
“You’re not concentrating on the movie,” Eisuke pointed out. “Is this what you wanted to do on your six months leave? Sit in a dark room and not pay attention to the movie you said you wanted to watch for months?”
“How did you know?” Haruka asked. “That this is the movie I wanted to watch?”
“The unopened DVD on your coffee table.”
Facing the screen, Haruka smiled softly to herself. Just half an hour ago, she was crying in Eisuke’s car but now, she was enjoying a movie she had always wanted to watch. It was even better than she thought. The concept of the movie was something new; it was lighthearted and humourous yet at the same time, emotional and deep. The cinematic was breathtaking and the actors really brought the scenes to the audience as if they were right there too. Yet somehow, her mind was not on the movie at all. Eisuke always knew how to comfort her. Her favourite meal, her favourite dessert, and even watching a movie with her. Eisuke did it all.
When Haruka went quiet again, Eisuke turned his head slightly to steal a look from her. It was hardly believable that she was crying not too long ago. Whatever it was, however, seemed as if it had already slipped her mind. This was a plan Eisuke hatched after he had that argument with her in her apartment, though he never planned to use it so early on. When talking with her backfired, there were many suggestions from the other guys. Eisuke never thought he would live to see the day when he would take advice from Baba himself. Yet, here they were. When he saw those tears, however, Eisuke was not thinking any of that. He just wanted her to stop crying.
The movie itself was ridiculous, in Eisuke’s opinion. Two strangers who would swap bodies after they went to sleep while trying to save a town from a meteorite strike was just not something that Eisuke could find himself liking. It was a situation that could never happen, it was illogical. But Haruka was enjoying it. She had a smile on the entire time, laughing at the jokes, and even teared up at the supposedly emotional scenes. If he was being honest, watching Haruka was a lot more entertaining.
“My mother used to take me to movies,” Haruka whispered, though no one else was around to hear them. “On the rare off day she would get, she would take me to the cinema and let me choose a movie that I wanted to watch. She’d buy me a big bucket of popcorn too.”
This was the first time Haruka ever spoke of her mother.
On her employee form, no family members were listed. Eisuke assumed they never existed and he never asked her, not that Haruka was avidly sharing stories about her family over the last eight years either. The way she spoke too, there was a certain gentleness in her voice that Eisuke never heard before. Despite spending eight years side by side constantly, Eisuke was starting to realise that he knew next to nothing about his secretary.
“Is that why you wanted the six months? To watch movies with your mother?”
“I suppose.” Haruka went quiet, for the next few minutes. When she spoke again, her eyes were focused on the screen but Eisuke could see the sorrow in her eyes. “The last time I went to the cinema with my mother, it was on my fourteenth birthday. She passed away when I was sixteen and I’ve never set foot in a cinema until now. I guess…I was just making up excuses when I say work got in the way. The truth is, I just didn’t want to come here alone because it would really mean that she’s gone forever.”
“I’m sorry.”
Eisuke knew that feeling all too well. He was even younger than Haruka was when his mother passed away. He remembered crying every night for weeks after her death, curling up in bed and wishing to the stars that his mother would be in bed when he woke the next morning. There were things that Eisuke never did again because they reminded him of his mother. He was more fortunate than Haruka was, however, when Akira adopted him. But everyone had their own struggles.
Akira raised him as if he was his very own son. Eisuke saw him as a father too, though it was merely a name on paper. It was the name itself that burdened Eisuke. Nobody believed in him because Akira gave him everything he had. Eisuke had to make a name for himself, to prove that it was worth everything Akira provided him. Haruka had been by his side since Eisuke started planning to put his name out there, build his own empire. It did not feel right not having her there, which was why Eisuke was so reluctant to let her go.
“I’ll give you permission to take that leave but you have to be back as soon as the six months has passed.”
“You already gave permission when you signed the form, whether you remember or not,” Haruka pointed out. “But I promise. I’ll be back as soon as the leave ends.”
“And train Yumi well before you leave. She’s absolutely terrible.”
“I don’t think anyone would ever be good enough for you, Mr. Ichinomiya.”
“You are.”
Praises and compliments were never a part of Eisuke. Rather, he would never say words of praises directly but preferred to show his gratitude with his actions mostly. The first time she managed to help him seal a deal, Eisuke bought her a necklace. He bought her many other things and took her out for many meals, all to say thank you and job well done. This was the first time Eisuke was directly complimenting her. To say she was shocked was an understatement.
Unsure of how to respond, Haruka focused her attention on the movie instead and kept quiet for the rest of it. She had learnt to interpret Eisuke’s harsh words over the years as indirect praises and she always found it endearing that he refused to say the words as they were. To hear it coming directly from his lips, however, it felt warming to the heart.
Neither of them spoke until the movie ended. Neither of them spoke as they were walking to Eisuke’s car. In all the years they had known each other for, they never felt closer than they did now. Her mother used to say that every person they met in their life, they met for a reason. Haruka was grateful for meeting Eisuke, for the chance he gave her, and for everything else.
“She would have liked you.” Eisuke turned his head slightly, frowning at Haruka’s sudden statement. “My mother, she would have liked you,” Haruka smiled. “She always said that she admired hardworking men. Men who work for their success, men who appreciate those who helped him work towards that success. Hardworking and gentle, that’s what she always said.”
“Your mother was a wise woman. Not sure about the gentle part, but wise.”
“Very wise.”
As they shared a smile, their conversation was interrupted by a phone ringing. Haruka dug around her handbag, pulling her phone out and stepped aside to answer the call. Eisuke stood by his car, glancing over to Haruka every so often to see if she was done with her call. He did not like the expression on her face as the call progressed. The call lasted for about five minutes before Haruka returned to the car, looking to Eisuke with a frown.
“I need to go.”
“Where?”
“To…my sister. She’s sick at school.”
“Get in, I’ll give you a ride.”
Right on cue, another phone started ringing. This time, it was Eisuke’s. He reached into his pocket and pulled his phone out, frowning at the caller ID before stepping to the side as Haruka did to answer the call. His expression turned as serious as hers did and ended just as quickly. Putting his phone away, Eisuke unlocked his car and nodded for Haruka to get in, not saying a word regarding the call though his secretary knew better.
“Who was that on the phone?” Haruka asked, not moving an inch to open the door.
“Get in the car, Haruka.”
“Who was it?”
Letting out a sigh, Eisuke slammed the door shut before looking to Haruka. There were many charming points about Haruka, but there were just as many traits that Eisuke disliked in her. She was stubborn, in more ways than one. She did not take no for an answer when she came for her interview, she never took no for an answer ever since. She had a mind of her own and was never afraid to speak it (not until after a year of working for him, however). She was persistent, irritatingly so. These were traits that Eisuke found handy when dealing with difficult clients because Haruka was more difficult. But when these traits were used against him, Eisuke absolutely hated it.
They were never leaving the parking lot if Eisuke did not answer her question. He could very well, however, just get in the car and leave Haruka behind but that was not how he was raised. “It was Emmett Lawson’s secretary,” Eisuke answered. “It seems like Southwell has made him a better offer to stay on as partners. I have an hour from now to make an even better deal.”
“So let’s head there now,” Haruka said.
“Call Yumi to meet me at Emmett Lawson’s office,” Eisuke stated, opening the car door. “You get to your sister.”
Not giving Haruka any choice in the matter, Eisuke got into his car and started driving off. He wanted her to come along but he could not find it in himself to be selfish this time. He never knew about her mother, he never knew about her sister. In his mind, Haruka always belonged to him. He thought they were similar; lone wolves who distanced themselves from family. She was there whenever he needed her and would get to him as soon as she could even when she was not.
But they were very different.
Eisuke always thought family was nothing more than just name on paper. That was what him and Akira were to each other; he carried the man’s name but only on paper. He could abandon his family, just as Akira could abandon him easily. To Haruka, however, her family was the most important. He could see it in her eyes when she talked about her mother and when she answered that call. He could see the worry in her eyes, the anxiousness. That was why he let her go.
~.~
With Eisuke gone, Haruka made her way to her sister’s school. She knew the place well, being an alumna. Her feet moved on their own and before she knew it, she was right outside the nurse’s office. Stepping into the room, she could see her sister laying on the bed fast asleep. Kneeling by the side of the bed, Haruka stroked the girl’s hair gently and when she could feel her gentle breathing, she let out a sigh of relief.
Haruna was the youngest of three sisters and she acted just like it. The day she was born, Haruka was there in the hospital with her mother. Haruna would not stop crying, not even when she was in their mother’s arms. It was not until Haruka held her tiny hand did she finally stop crying. Since then, the eldest had doted on the youngest. Anything and everything that Haruka could do for her, she would. Her only fond memories of her childhood were that of with her youngest sister.
“You had me worrying about you, Nana,” Haruka whispered, pushing Haruna’s hair out of her face just to pinch her cheek hard. “But I think my worry was all for nothing, seeing as you are perfectly fine pretending to be asleep.”
“Ow! That hurts!”
“Good. It’ll teach you not to try and fool me next time.” Getting up from her knees, Haruka sat on the bed while Haruna pushed herself up. “Your teacher told me that you threw up. What happened?”
“I was sick.”
“Yes, and why were you sick all of a sudden?”
The silence and the avoidance of eye contact was all that Haruka needed. Haruna was never a good liar; not when she was a child, not as a teenager now either. Their mother used to say that Haruna was an open book. It was a blessing and a curse at the same time, though Haruka always found it useful when disciplining. Forcing Haruna to look her in the eyes, Haruka did not need to say a single word before the girl broke. Haruna was weak too.
“I may or may not have ate three bags of potato chips last night, staying up to watch my drama. And…I may or may not have ate a pint and a half of ice cream because I got a little emotional.”
Letting out a sigh, Haruka closed her eyes and took in three deep breaths. It was a little trick her mother taught her whenever she was about to lose her temper. Since she could remember, her mother was always telling her that patience was a virtue. There was no point in losing her temper because the only person she was truly hurting was herself. She was worried when she got the call; since they lived separately, Haruka rarely got in touch. She always assumed that no news was good news.
Watching Haruka with nervous eyes, Haruna was scared of what was to come. Although, she could not remember a time when Haruka was truly mad at her. No matter what Haruna did growing up, Haruka never once lost her temper with her.
“Let’s go home,” Haruka said, picking up Haruna’s things.
Walking down the streets was bringing back memories for Haruka. These were the exact roads she would take to and from school almost everyday. Nothing had changed since then. Subconsciously, Haruka turned down a familiar road that took them out of the way home. When a park was coming into view, Haruka stopped in her tracks and looked to Haruna. Both sisters stared at each other before simultaneously nodding their heads and headed for the park. Since it was still in the afternoon, the park was empty save for the sisters.
“You used to bring me here all the time,” Haruna smiled, looking around the quiet park. “They built a new playground about three years ago though.”
“About time. I was always so scared the chains on the swing would snap when I was pushing you.”
“I loved when you picked me up from school back then, because you would always bring me here. And you would buy me ice cream too. I thought you hated ice cream too, because you’d always buy just one.”
“I only had enough for one ice cream,” Haruka laughed, reminiscing. She could still remember the look on Haruna’s face when she asked for a bite of her ice cream once. “Of course I’d give it to my little sister.”
“I missed you.”
It was three simple words but they stabbed right into Haruka’s heart.
She missed Haruna too, more than words could describe. Between work for her and school for Haruna, they barely had the time to see each other. Especially since she moved out. The only updates she would get on her sister were the uploads to social media sites. Haruna knew nothing about Haruka’s life, however, because she always felt that there was no need to worry her little sister. Taking the six months leave was partly so she could be a part of Haruna’s life again.
“Sleep over at my place tonight,” Haruka said, pushing a stray strand of hair behind Haruna’s ear. “Haruko is away on that trip of hers anyway, which is why you had the guts to eat all those potato chips and ice cream.”
“That last part was really unnecessary. You could just say you missed me too, you know?”
“I missed you.”
As Haruka planted a kiss on Haruna’s head, the younger sister linked their arms together while changing directions as they continued walking. Haruka’s apartment was a little farther away; she kept some distance between them but made sure that she could still get to them fast if there was an emergency. The sisters, however, took the extra time to catch up with each other and continue their reminiscing.
Finally reaching her apartment, Haruna was the one to notice a gift box by the door. While Haruka unlocked the door, the younger girl picked the card underneath the ribbon and opened it. “To Haruka, sorry for today. I hope you enjoy the gift. Is this from your boss, Haruka-nee? I thought he was an uptight jerk who needed to release steam more than a steam locomotive?”
“I never said that,” Haruka stated, taking the card from Haruna. Judging from the card and the wording alone, she knew this was not a gift from Eisuke. “And my boss is not a discrete man, this is not his style.”
Picking up the box, Haruka had a fairly good idea who the present was from. She brought it into her apartment and set it on the coffee table, not bothering to open it as she went about doing other business instead. Haruna, on the other hand, was curious as a kitten. She tugged at the ribbon, pulling apart the perfect bow and lifted the lid.
Inside the box was an assortment of items. “Is this from an admirer or a stalker? Everything in here is so weird,” Haruna frowned, digging around the box. “Isn’t this that really fancy tea from Singapore? Hey, you like Early Grey tea right, Haruka-nee?”

Back in January of this year, beauty girls and editors lost their collective shit—myself included—when New York City beauty brand Milk Makeup finally launched in the UK. Despite it having only launched stateside in 2016, it had already felt like a lifetime of having to beg U.S.-bound friends to hit up Sephora on my behalf for a Milk Makeup fix. And I clearly wasn't alone—the brand launched to an incredible 17,000-person waiting list on Cult Beauty. Yes, this was one beauty brand that had a serious amount of social media hype, and I was already obsessed. If you haven't heard of Milk Makeup before, then the premise of the brand is all about good ingredients, clean formulas, and payoff that you can actually see. Every product is cruelty-free, paraben-free and 100% vegan and a lot of the products come in twist-up, stick formulations for easy, fuss-free application—even when you're on-the-go. The skincare products are simple and slip effortlessly into your existing routines, and the makeup products offer sheer pops of color that can be built up to customize your look. In short, this is a beauty brand that even women who aren't that into beauty can get on board with. Launching exclusively onto Cult Beauty with a great initial drop, there have been new arrivals landing thick and fast, with 37 products currently on site to shop. (Although, seriously, Milk—will your Sunshine Skin Tint ever be landing on British soil?) With such an array of product categories and names like Glitter Sticks , Tattoo Stamps , and Cannabis Face Masks to decipher, it can be a bit of a beauty minefield to shop if you haven't already dabbled with the brand. Luckily, I've now tried pretty much everything that Milk Makeup has to offer, and while it was lust at first sight for me and everything in the collection, there are a few products that have transitioned into true, long-term beauty loves. Yes, packaging aside, these are the products that I honestly think are worth splashing your cash on. Not only do they genuinely work, but they've also become staples in my beauty routine. The ultimate product for girls who don't really do makeup or just don't have time for it in the mornings. Just twist up the creamy color and swipe it onto your cheeks and lips, then pat in with your fingertips for an effortlessly pretty flush of color. I always have one of these Lip + Cheek sticks in my handbag for when my complexion needs a little livening up during the day. Werk, this dusky rose shade, is my favorite everyday hue but I must mention Quickie as a close second—a lively berry that would look amazing on deeper skin tones too. This is basically a stick of solidified water infused with aloe, but honestly, it's like magic. I recently gave a stick to a colleague who is heading on a humid holiday to China thanks to the way that it cools and refreshes skin like nothing else. I like to use this after cleansing my skin on mornings when I'm feeling particularly puffy and congested as it really helps to calm things down. But you can apply it over makeup to boost glow throughout the day too. I'm a big fan of using face powders to keep my oily skin in check during the day, but it can be difficult to find ones that don't cling to dry patches and end up looking cakey. This one is a revelation thanks to an infusion of moisturizing hyaluronic acid and avocado powder. It might sound counterintuitive, but what it actually means is that this powder blurs over fine lines and unevenness while keeping oil under control. This mascara was the best-selling Milk Makeup product at the brand's UK launch and pretty much everyone that tries it raves about it. It's the first-ever mascara to contain hemp-derived cannabis oil and has a seriously creamy formula infused with fibers that glide onto lashes and impart them with mega volume. Hannah Almassi, our very own editor in chief, has even be converted to its charms. If you're looking for a new mascara in your life then make it this one. This features the same formulation technology as the Kush Mascara (hydrating cannabis oil and volumizing fibers), but for your brows. I'm very loyal to my Benefit Gimme Brow, so I really wasn't expecting to like this product as much as I do. But I have to say that on days when I want to get really bushy, glossy cool-girl brows, this really does the trick. It does a great job of boosting volume and setting hairs in place without leaving them feeling stiff or set either. One of the newer Milk Makeup drops, this primer promises to keep skin hydrated all day. For me, however, the thing that I love most about it is the way that (as the name suggests) it "grips" to the makeup you apply on top to improve longevity. To apply, you smooth a couple of pumps onto clean skin and leave it for a minute to set. I love that my skin always looks glowy and moisturized before I apply my base. Oh, and I'm also here for the all-day hold. At first, these cream eye shadows might look a little intimidating. They are seriously pigmented (as in, you literally just need a tiny dot for full coverage colour on your eye) and come in some pretty out-there shades, including sea greens and electric blues. However, these are now one of my favourite formulas to reach for on a night out. The shade Hotel Lobby, in particular, is a really wearable champagne-gold with a beautiful shimmer. I apply to the eyelids using my fingertips, and then blend out the edges with a fluffy brush. Once they're on, the waterproof formulas stay put for hours without creasing or shifting. If you don't love a really high-shine glow to your skin, then the Milk Makeup Highlighter Stick might be more up your street for a more subtly luminous glow. These Holographic Sticks are for a major sheen. They contain real meteorite powder (seriously) for a holographic finish that I happen to love applied to the tops of cheekbones. The shade Mars is my favorite (a gorgeous golden peach), but there are some more intense color options if lavender or pink highlight is up your alley. Rich in olive and jojoba oils, this lip balm does an amazing job of moisturizing parched lips and boasts a minty taste that is wonderfully refreshing. It comes in a clear formula (which actually looks green in the tube), and if it's purely hydration that you're after, this is a tinted formula that treats and looks good. Toner is often one of those skincare steps that I'll skip entirely, but since discovering this one from Milk Makeup, it's become more of a regular part of my skincare routine. It's the world's first every solid toner, and it's crammed with matcha green tea and witch hazel to decongest and purify oily-combination skin types. I just swipe it over skin after cleansing to calm any inflamed areas and control oily patches before my moisturizer. I was a bit dubious about the idea of a face mask in a stick, but I have to say that this application method is a dream if the thought of applying a face mask always seems like way too much effort. I apply it to clean, damp skin (but you can also apply it to dry skin) and leave it to dry for around 10 minutes before rinsing it off. It's clay-based, so it has detoxifying benefits, but it also contains protective vitamins C and E, hydrating hyaluronic acid and brightening watermelon extract for more luminous skin. As someone who doesn't really use bronzer, it's a big deal to be recommending one in this list. I don't know if it's the blendable texture, the matte colour or the way that it hydrates skin at the same time, but this is possibly one of the best bronzers I've ever tried. I basically just scrawl it over my cheeks, nose and forehead, and then blend it out with my fingers for a really subtle, sunkissed glow. Although it looks deep in the tube, it's surprisingly sheer, so I've never overdone it while applying it. While I wasn't blown away by Milk Makeup's original Blur Stick, this new illuminating version is right up my street. It uses golden blur pigments and blurring microspheres to both brighten skin and absorb excess oil at the same time. On weekends when I'm just pottering about the house, I'll apply just this over moisturiser to brighten and even out my skin tone, but on normal days, I'll apply it under makeup, focusing on my cheeks and forehead (where my pores tend to be most visible). The newest launch from Milk Makeup comes courtesy of these mini multipurpose formulas. The same concept as the brand's original Lip + Cheek sticks (you can use them to add color all over your face), these ones have more of a sheer formula with a beautifully dewy finish. Astro is my favorite—a soft, radiant blackberry hue that I think would work well on all skin tones. These will really come into their own during summer. These luxury goodies are ones we may rarely bestow upon ourselves, but are highly coveted - making them ideal gifts in my books.

Lip stick that feels decadent on the lips in an equally classic yet contemporary package. A lipstick that can make any day feel like an occasion.

Little illuminating powder pearls designed to minimise flaws and brighten the skin, packaged in a stunning little tin. Yes, please!
PAUL & JOE BEAUTE Pearl Lipstick plus Lipstick Case N
A Parisian-inspired lipstick case with a pearl lipstick to give you dewy lips. Oh, and did I mention the lipstick is cat-shaped. A little bit of fun.
CHANTECAILLE Philanthropy Cheek Colour
A lovely collection of cheek blushes embossed with animal motifs, representing a charity that benefit from a portion of the net sales proceeds. Got me feeling all rosy.
FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil

The Paw | chapter 10
First chapter | Last chapter | Next chapter
Notice/Warnings: yelling/shouting, caps, deals, black out, kidnapping/saving
▪▪▪
Dinae was in the main integration room at the Police station, being integrated by the Chief with Mr Bow, one of the authorities. They weren’t integrating her to find where the meteorite was but they were integrating her to give the locations of where the other Lost Girls were before sending her off to the Super Ulta Crazy Max or S.C.U.M. for short.
Chief Luggins rubbed her forehead and she tried to keep her cool as she asked, “Alright, Fox. I’m going to ask one more time… Where are they?!”
Diane looked blankly at her and Mr Bow in silence before looking back at the chart that was on the table. “The Girls aren’t in any of those locations.” she said finally.
Chief looked like she was going to burst but she didn’t when Mr Bow sighed, looked at the Chief, and said, “That’s it. I’m calling it in and sending her to S.C.U.M.”
Before the Chief could say anything, there was a fast knocking on the door. “Chief! Chief! Chief!” an officer shouted from the other side of the door.
Chief opened the door angrily and said, “What is it?!”
Officer Ruby Redd, the officer who was knocking, looked scared and said as she pointed to the side, “HIM!”
Chief and Mr Bow looked at what Ruby was pointing at, both got the same scared expression, and backed up into the room as the velociraptor, who was dressed nicely, came into view of the doorway.
It was Doctor Milton Park and he does not look happy.
“Doctor Park!” Chief exclaimed. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here for my student.” the Doctor said coldly. “Mind if I come in?”
Mr Bow sighed and said, “I’m sorry, Doctor but we’re not doing this experiment anymore. She attacked an innocent icon.”
Chief nodded while Doctor Milton Park looked flatly at them and then Doctor Park asked, “Did any of you realize that Marmalade is a smart prey animal who could have set it up?”
Ruby Redd raised her hand. “Yes. But how is it relevant?”
Doctor Park looked at the Chief and Mr Bow, asking, “Mind if we talk in the hall?”
Chief and Mr Bow looked at each other, nodded and then went to the hallway with the Doctor. “Officer Redd,” Chief said to Ruby, making her look at her, “just keep an eye on her.”
Ruby nodded as she entered the room and the Chief closed the door, leaving Diane alone with Officer Ruby.
The fox and rookie looked at each other for a moment. Then Ruby sat down in the chair across Diane, making her confused. “What are you doing?” the fox asked confusedly.
Ruby looked at her and said, “I looked at your handbag and found a fake golden dolphin trophy in your bag.”
Diane’s eyes gave a look of suprise as Ruby continued, “And I had a thought… ‘why would I have a fake dolphin?’ and I got two things: one, it’s a souvenir or, two, you were going to steal the golden dolphin.”
Dinae looked down when Ruby said the second part.
Ruby waited for her to answer.
Then Diane said, “It was the second one… but I changed my mind… I didn’t steal the space rock… but I do know who it was…”
Ruby’s eyes lit up. “Really? Who?”
Diane frowns as she looks back at her. “You wouldn’t believe it but…” Diane started, then she looked at the one way glass and then looked at the camera, which looked down at her.
She secretly took off her golden loop bracelet and slid it across the table, whispering, answering the question, “This has the answer for your question of who.”
Ruby picked it up and looked at it. Before she could ask, the Chief came in with Mr Bow and Doctor Park.
Ruby, without realizing it by panic, puts the bracelet in her pocket, gets up and moves to the side as the Chief looks down at The Paw.
“I can’t believe that I’m doing this…” the Chief started, rubbing her forehead. “But… If you want to do good lessons with Doctor Park in the prison near the city… you tell us where the other Lost Girls are. You will still go to S.C.U.M. but only for a while until we find them at that location. Then, you'll have the class.”
Diane was quiet for a moment.
“You answer in a minute.” Mr Bow said, looking at his watch.
“Okay, fine.” Diane said finally. “There’s a map in my bag. It has the location of where the girls are.”
Chief smiled at her and started, “See? Wasn’t that easy-?”
“I’m not finished.” Diane interrupted before continuing. “They’re in the woods with my godmother, Granny Gumbo. And as you all know, including you Mr Bow, how much she doesn’t like hard core cops and society.”
Chief’s smile quickly faded to a frown with fear in her eyes. “You’re joking… right?” Mr Bow asked, his eyes wide.
Diane had a serious face on and shook her head.
“Do you see me laughing?” she asked flatley, looking at him. Then she looked back at the Chief and said, “I’m willing to do this offer but I understand if you don’t want to do it. So, you have to send in a rookie over there with a van. And, if you do accept, whatever happens that the rookie brings back to you, don’t get mad at me.”
The Chief couldn’t believe it as she looked at Diane before she said, “Okay, fine! But there better be no funny business.”
Diane nodded. “Got it.”
“And time is up.” Mr Bow said, looking up from his watch.
Then Mr Bow got two guards to get Diane into the transportation van to S.C.U.M. Diane didn't struggle this time. She just followed where she was taken and sat down in the van.
Diane took in a deep breath as she felt the van move. She’s accepted her fate.
◇☆
Diane looked out the small barred window as she waited for her fate as the van drove her to the secretary docks where she’ll board onto a ship and get to S.C.U.M.
All she could see was the dark and cloudy sky.
She sighed.
Diane knew that S.C.U.M. was the most dangerous and skilled prison ever made, for it was for the most dangerous criminals and there’s no way of escape.
“Chief was right…” Diane said, out loud to herself. “My luck ran out…”
Then, out of the blue, the van stopped. ‘We must be at the S.C.U.M. docks.’ Diane thought, preparing herself to be taken by the guards and onto the transportation ship. She waited for a minute, then she got confused when no one opened the door and she realized that she could hear no waves crashing against the beach.
So, she stood up on her seat and looked through small barred windows. It looked like an accident that Diane could see.
She saw the transporting officers check on the people or see if there was even a person there.
The three officers got someone out and laid out on the off side of the road. Diane tried to look at the person, feeling that she knew them.
Diane noticed something small and black entered the van. She guessed that the hot spot was turned off because one of the guards tried to call, probably an ambulance for the person, and was trying to find bars.
Diane could hear tapping on the roof and she saw the person on the ground point at the roof of the van, making the guards look at the roof.
Diane squatted down quickly, so it looks like she was minding her business and not spying on them.
Then she heard a muffled yell from the roof, “SURPRISE!”
The next thing that she knows that something jumped off the roof and she heard grunts from the guards.
When she stood back up again, she saw all two guards were knocked out with a smile on their faces and there was something on top of them. It was about child size and wearing black bodysuit.
She noticed that the person, who was on the floor, was standing up looking fine and the small black something went over to them.
Diane looked for the third guard, who wasn’t to be seen yet. Then she saw the guard, who was wrapped in what appeared to be big black rope, walking with someone in black bodysuit with a black ski mask.
Diane sat down quickly as they went to the door, breathing heavily. She looked worried at the doors, trying to prepare herself for what happens next.
The doors opened and the masked person entered while the tied up guard looked terrified. Diane closed her eyes as the masked person walked over to her.
Then she heard clicks and both of her wrists felt free from the cuffs. Diane slowly opened her eyes to see her wrist was no longer cuffed and looked at the masked person.
The next thing that Diane knew was that the guard fainted and she felt something hit her on her shoulder. Diane looked at her shoulder and saw a tranquilizer dart before she blacked out and fell back to her seat.
Before Diane fully blacked out, she heard the masked figure yell “Webs!” and then she heard someone exclaim, “It was an accident!” as she blacked out.
When Diane woke up, she was in a bedroom on a comfortable bed. She slowly sat up and looked around to see some water on a bedside with a note. She picked the note and read.
It read: Drink :)
Diane looked at the cup of water and felt thirsty. She decided to drink the water carefully after sniffing it.
She noticed that she wasn’t wearing her Gala outfit but she was wearing her casual clothes and is cleaned up. “Huh?” she said hoarsely. She set the cup back on the bedside table as she got up and went out the room.
When Diane exited the room, she heard a TV was on and saw some people wearing black bodysuits on the couch.
The TV showed the news and it talked about a prison transportation jump attack.
Diane looked for the exit as the news talked about the attack.
She entered one room.
It was not an exit but it was a sometype of extra room, like an office.
There was a whiteboard, a couch, a revolving chair, a bookshelf with some books, a table with plans and blueprints. There’s also on the walls were newspaper clippings.
Diane went to one of the clippings and read it.
{The Bad Guys stole the Five Unique Diamonds from the Jewel Earth Museum.}
Diane looked at the other clippings and they were talking about The Bad Guys and their MANY different heists.
‘Okay…’ Diane thought for a moment. ‘These must be The Bad Guys!’
“Guys!” one of the people outside of the room shouted. “She’s out!”
“What?!” the others shouted.
‘Oh no!’ Diane thought as she looked where she could hide or find something that could help her. She found a big fire extinguisher by the bookshelf, looked at the revolving chair, and started to get an idea.
She moved the revolving chair aligned to the door, sat on it, criss crossing her legs, and holding the fire extinguisher in her lap, and waiting to hear the door open.
When she heard the door open, she squeezed the handle causing her to go back and through the door, making the people jump back. The revolving chair hit something and made it trip over something, causing Diane to fall off it and onto the floor.
When Diane was about to get up to fight. But one of them picked her up and held her as Diane tried to get out of the grip.
“Diane! It’s okay!” one reassured her. Diane stopped trying to get out the grip as she felt that the person sounded familiar.
Diane breathed heavily as she was seated down and the masked person walked over to her with three others. “What’s going on? Where am I? Who are you all?!” Diane asked quickly.
The mask person and others masked looked at her for a moment and then took the black mask off. Diane’s eyes widened when she realized what she was looking at. “Moe? Herbert? Lou? Pepe?” she exclaimed surprisedly. Before Diane said or asked anything else, another familiar voice called out, “Are we showing her?”
Diane looked over to see a tarantula in a black bodysuit walking over, removing a face mask to reveal Stefanie.
“Wai- Stefanie?” Diane breathed.
Stefanie waved at her. “Hi.”
Diane looked at the five of them for a moment and asked, “Wait a minute! You’re The Bad Guys?”
The five smiled and nodded, replying, "Yes, we are."

The Paw | chapter 9
First chapter | Last chapter | Next chapter
Notice/Warnings: Caps, panic, chase, squeezed tight, yelling/shouting, Angst
▪▪▪
Everyone gasped when they all saw that the Meteorite was gone.
Then the crowd immediately looked at Diane and glared suspiciously at her, thinking that SHE had something to do with it.
But it wasn’t her.
Diane looked at everyone, scared. She jumped when Chief started to stomp over to her, a twig away from snapping.
“Chief…” Diane started, backing up to the DJ station before things got out of hand.
Chief Luggins did not look like she’s ready to listen. “Fox!” the Chief growled at her with anger, just about to get her cuffs and slapped them on her to arrest her.
Diane was almost leaning up on the table of the station as she quickly defended, “Come on! You don’t know that I did this!”
And not a second later, on the white screen, a video of a paw, a fox paw, waving bye with the words: ‘See You Never!’
“No…” Diane whispered, her breath becoming heavy.
Chief looked down at her and growled, “You wanna run that by me again?”
Diane felt things on the table, to get the Chief away from her. She felt her handbag and remembered the fake Dolphin that was inside. So she grabbed her handbag and swung it, hitting the Chief and stepping on her foot with her heel making her jump back up, giving Diane a chance to run.
As Diane ran into the crowd, Chief shouted to the cops, “Get her!”
Some people ran out of the way as Diane ran across the party floor, trying to get away. Diane's blue heels flew off her feet as she ran.
She dodged some cops as she ran into the bar and saw two bottles of champagne on the counter, giving her an idea. So, she shook the two and popped both to spray two officers down. But when she ran out of liquid, she tossed the bottles to a cop as a distraction and ran.
She rummaged through her handbag, to see if she had anything that could help her. She pulled out a pen and the map that she put in earlier and looked at Moe, who was still on stage.
Diane started to run to Moe and quickly wrote something on the map. “Here!” the fox said, quickly handing the map to the wolf. Before Moe could ask what she was doing, Diane answers, “I’m giving it all back!”
Then she ran to avoid the cops by jumping on a table and using the heads of them as stepping stones.
“Moe!” Pepe, Lou, and Stefanie shouted as they ran to him. The wolf looked at the three as Stefanie yelled, “Snake slithered off!”
“And we don’t know where he went!” Pepe and Lou added.
“What?!” Moe yelled worriedly.
Diane ran out of the Gala and looked to where to run. While she looked where to go, there was a snake on one of the pillars.
Herbert ponced onto Diane, causing both to roll into the crater and darkness.
Diane tried to get Herbert off of her but Herbert tightened his grip more. More than he expected that he didn’t realize that he was squeezing her tightly.
Diane fell on her hands and knees, still trying to fight him.
Then something hit Herbert on the head so hard to be knocked out, making him loosen and fall to the ground. Diane gasped for air and coughed as she looked up at who saved her.
It was Officer Ruby Redd. The rookie.
She kneeled down next to her and whispered, “Stay down. I’m going to put him in my backpack and put you in my cop car. ‘kay?”
Diane could only cough, “I didn’t do it…”
“I’m not the judge of that but I am going to look for evidence.” Ruby said as she put Herbert in her big backpack and zipped it up. Then Ruby got Diane off the ground and helped her out of the crater after putting her backpack on.
Diane looked at herself as they walked. Some parts of her outfit was covered in dirt and her skirt was ripped. She noticed that some dirt was on her arms and wouldn’t be surprised if some were on her face too.
When they got out and were about to go to the cop car, Misty Luggins greeted them by grabbing Diane and holding her. “Good job, rookie!” the Chief congratulated, smiling at Ruby. “You got the bad guy!”
“But Chief, we don’t know-” Ruby started but the Chief didn’t listen to her as she put Diane’s hands behind her back and slapped the cuffs on the fox and took her to where the van is going to be.
Ruby sighed as the Governor’s three team members walked over. She handed her backpack to them and said angrily, “Here’s your Snake who was in the grass.”
Mr Shark opened the backpack and Snake shook his head and rubbed it with his tail. The snake looked up at the three mad teammates while Ruby went to her cop car and got her camera and evidence bags to get evidence.
◇☆
“Listen to me! I didn’t do it!” Diane explained as she was taken to the van that just arrived. “It’s the truth-!”
The Chief didn’t listen or even care of what she’s saying and replied while pretending to not to listen to Diane, “A-la-la-la-la! Can’t hear you! Guity!”
All of this was being recorded on the news camera, as Diane was tossed into the van and the cuffs that the chains which are contacted to the side were put on her as she shouted, “I’m really good now! Marmalade will tell you! Professor-!” Chief Luggins shut the van doors in front of Diane’s face, cutting off the call.
Tiffany Fluffit was covering the news story, “Tonight’s headline: change is impossible. You should always judge a book by the cover and the main question of the stereotype has been affirmed.”
Moe Wolf sighed and rolled his eyes as he overheard the news story, not believing the reporter’s saying. For his team was behind him, Lou held Herbert by his dress shirt while Stefanie and Pepe watched a close eye on him. “Is this necessary?” Herbert muttered to them. “Yes!” the three said through their teeth to him.
Suddenly, Marmalade was seen running through the crowd while he tried to ask the Chief of police, “Stop, for goodness’ sake! Let me speak to her! I’m-I’m sure there’s been a misunderstanding!”
In the van, Diane was sadly sitting down, all alone, handcuffed, and already on track to possibly the harshest prison in the area. She was very quiet and helpless, trying to think of what happened.
Then she saw the van doors open and saw the guinea pig entering inside.
Diane smiled softly and felt incredibly relieved, hoping that he would help her the same way like at the rewards. “Oh, Professor Marmalade.” she breathed.
Chief told the Professor, “You got five minutes,” She glared at the fox and warned, “No deals this time.” Then she closed the door behind the Professor, leaving him alone with The Paw.
Diane looked like she was struggling as she quickly asked, “Y-you gotta help me… Tell ‘em… please… Tell them that I didn’t do it.”
Marmalade, being the ‘sweet cheeks’ that he was, tried to calm Dinae down as he said, “There, there. Of course you didn’t do it. How could you?” Then he took her hands in his tiny hands and commented as he patted her hands, “You’re such a good girl.”
At that moment, something struck Diane in her mind… pin of realization to say. The ‘good girl’ term made Diane think back to everything that happen up to the moment: the old lady praising her after saving her, hearing Professor’s speech, the idea of the experiment of good, the display of the Meteorite at the Gala for the first time, and, even earlier, the Professor did said that ‘all eyes would be on her, not him’.
Finally, one thought came to mind that seemed to be the missing piece of the puzzle: that at the awards show, while she was distracted with hiding her wagging tail, the ‘old lady’ was actually Marmalade in disguise, one who had a sly smirk as he walked away after his "meeting" with Diane that fateful night.
Once everything made sense again, Diane, in shock, commented to Professor Marmalade, "You. It was all you…” Then she asked out loud to herself, “But why would a guinea pig want a meteorite?"
Suddenly, Diane heard the guinea pig, who had his back towards her and was facing the doors, was chuckling rather…. oddly. Almost…. sinister like?
"Um… Professor? What’s going on? You're freaking me out…" Diane said, sounding scared.
Marmalade's fluffy hair was now a frizzy mess, and he was digging his claws into the metal doors, scratching it like nails on a chalkboard. "Well, well. So, you finally get it." The Professor said as he turned his head, giving The Paw a mix of sinister and scary facial expression.
Diane was shocked, her right hand over her golden loop bracelet, and exclaimed, "Wait-what?! You stole the meteorite?!"
Marmalade grinned evilly while answering, "Oh, it's not just a meteorite."
"Then what is it-?!" Diane started but was interrupted by Marmalade shouting, "Let me speak!"
Then Marmalade took a deep breath and continued, "It's the ultimate power source. You see, when it struck, scientists found that it emitted an electromagnetic frequency unlike anything else on Earth. I'm going to harness its power to pull off the greatest heist the world has ever seen!"
The Paw couldn't believe what she was hearing, but what was more shocking to her was how somehow, she was pulled into all of this and about to take the blame for something that Marmalade did.
But Diane still couldn't understand why Marmalade still picked her and she asked, "But why me?"
Marmalade answered with a smile, "Because you're the perfect patsy. Come on, when people look up 'bad' or 'liar' in the dictionary, do they see a sweet, adorable guinea pig? No; they see you, and they always will."
Diane looked down at him as she snapped, "Fine, but you set me up!"
Marmalade chuckled innocently, "Oh, pish-pish. Let's be honest… evolution sets you up. But face it, you here really clinched it. You fell for every one of my traps, starting with saving a helpless little old lady."
Diane couldn't believe what she was hearing. Diane tries to control herself by breathing to calm down as Marmalade was about to leave but stopped. He turned around and committed, "Anyway, another thing to add… it turns out once again, the big scary predator got outsmarted by the cute prey.”
After those words got to Diane, she lost it. All of her emotions, felt a blind rage build up in herself, as bared her teeth.
Diane shouted angrily as she slapped her hand on the gold bracelet and tried to lunge at Marmalade, "You little pouchy-cheeked rat!"
However, Marmalade decided to 'nail the coffin shut' and kicked the door open, portraying his innocent self again and feigned fear, shouting to make it look he was the victim and Diane was the perpetrator, "Help! Help! Help! The Scary Fox is attacking me!" as Diane continued to shout at him, "I'll kill you! You hear me?! You're dead! You're de-"
Everyone in the gala audience, especially the Governor and his team, was shocked to witness this. When Diane realized what Marmalade just did, she stop with a mix of being too frightened and ashamed to fight back, especially when the chief came marching forward, shouting, "Oh, now you are done forever, Fox!" she slammed the van doors shut after Marmalade hopped out.
Diane watched helplessly through the small barred window, looking at the crowd solemnly, as she was hauled off, with police cars following the van as the siren flashed and the horns blasted to let traffic know they were moving out.
All that Diane could do is to just sit down and start to cry.

Marmalade was doing a very good job feigning his fear while Tiffany Fluffit knelt down and asked him, "Professor, Professor, any thoughts on how The Paw managed to steal the meteorite in plain sight?"
Marmalade 'regained' his composure and started to answer, "Well, off the top of my head, perhaps she accessed the site previously and set up an intricate system of tunnels and trapdoors that could be remotely triggered to suck the meteorite down into a holding area, but how should I know? I mean, she is the deranged mastermind, not me."
Tiffany was soaking everything in, as she replied, "Totally."
However, there was one person, actually five people, who didn't seem to be buying this whole thing: Moe, Herbert, Stefanie, Lou, and Pepe. They felt very suspicious that there was something deeper going on, and that Marmalade was hiding more than he appeared to be.
"He's lying." Lou said quietly to the group as they walked over to the side, away from the people. "Prey animals normally have a longer time to calm down after being jumped."
Pepe nodded, replying, "Agreed."
“It also doesn’t make sense. 'Accessed the site previously and set up an intricate system'? She couldn't have.” Stefanie added. “Because, she told me that she couldn’t Marmalade’s place without him or without an officer.”
While the three talked amog each other, Moe looked at what Diane had given him: a map, and on that map, there was a set of directions drawn out to somewhere with the numbers by the dot.
Herbert noticed the drawn directions and asked, "Where does that lead?"
Moe shrugged and answered, "Let's go and see."
The Governor and his team left the Gala.
Moe drove himself and his team in his car. He follows the directions that were being read by Herbert, to wherever it may lead to, while Stefanie, Lou, and Pepe look out the window.
"This is the abandoned part of the city…" Pepe said, looking at the broken window buildings. "Yeah, I think that there was an accident, making everyone out of this part of the city." Stefanie commented, looking at him.
"What is the thing or place that Diane wrote on the map?" Lou asked, looking at the map.
Herbert looks at the map and looks out the window. "I think it's right here." he said, pointing with his tail.
Moe parked in front of one of the abandoned houses and everyone got out of the car.
The house didn't look like the other houses. It was a bit cleaner but it didn't look too clean like it was nicer than the others.
Lou and Pepe tried to open the front door by using both of their weight and strength to hit the door but it didn't budge.
Stefanie looked at the garage and went to it. She went to the small window of the side of the garage and looked in. She noticed that the garage door wasn't connected to anything or locked. "Hey, guys!" she called out to the four, who are now looking at her. "I think that I found a way in."
Herbert went over to the garage door and lifted it open. Then the five of them entered the garage.
Moe noticed a generator nearby while Stefanie tried to turn on the lights but the lights didn't turn on. He went to the generator, turned it on, and then the lights came on.
The five of them went inside and when they opened the door into the house that's connected to the garage, they all gasped when they saw The Paw's hideout.
The hideout that no one could find for all of the years and everything that was stolen, it was all there!
Everyone walked in, looking around, their jaws dropped.
"It's all here!" Herbert exclaimed after looking around. "Everything that The Paw stole!"
‘I'm giving it all back!’ Moe thought of the words that  Diane told him rang inside his head. “‘I’m giving it all back’…” he breathed, repeating her words as took in his surroundings.
While taking in surroundings, Moe figured…Diane did them a huge favor by giving the location of her hideout and wanting to give back every valuable she ever stole, and now…it was time to return the favor.
Moe’s eyes shined when he got an idea, and smiled. Herbert noticed the shine, he smiled and asked, “Hey, what’s going on? You got that twinkle back in your eye.”
Moe chuckled as he straightened his tie and said, “I’ll explain on the way. Lets get suit up.”
The other four smiled big when he said that and nodded in agreement.
