I am a Mhin simp till the end of days but the potential for most angsty love story is with Leander.

Picture this: You're an outlaw. Always had to go without. Always had to fight. Your closest friend betrays you.

Now more penniless and alone than ever, you face death with nothing but regret.

Only you don't die. You wake up in a strange place in a strange bed. You're being tended to by ab even stranger man, who sends you to a fishy bar.

There you meet a familiar group of rascals. The kind you used to be around. You meet their leader too.

A charismatic man (they always are) who acts very friendly (they always do). He says he can handle your curse.

You don't believe him.He proves you wrong. It changes your life.

Now, you should know better than to fall for a pretty face and smooth talk. You've been burned before, not so long ago as a matter of fact.

But... you've never been held like that. Touched like that. Seen like that.

When was the last time you gave everything of yourself, without withholding anything? When was the last time you were cared for so well?

Can you really be blamed if you wanted to believe it was real and sincere, despite all the warnings, despite your own experience?

Leander loves you too. Of course he does. That's what makes it so difficult.

That's what will make the knife in your back hurt so much more. That's what makes it painful for the both of you.

I think you both knew this was a lie. He gave you the illusion because he loves you. Because (if the undead Leander theory is true) he will love you for a long time.It's proof that he is alive.

You believe it because you need to. And because you got to see him without the facade and loved him anyway.

You knew each other fully and chose to stay.

Here is the kicker: you loved him too much to save yourself but he didn't love you enough to save you from himself.

But you both knew that going into it. It doesn't make it any less beautiful.

Touchstarved Sexuality Headcanons

Disclaimer: I‘m bisexual myself, this is just for fun. These are MY Headcanons and aren’t canon in any way, if you have different Headcanons let me know!

Ais

- I don’t think Ais would really care much about labels. The concept of sexuality and gender is a human made social construct after all, so he doesn’t really see the point in adapting to such customs. He probably would identify under the mspec umbrella, but doesn’t actually care about the label itself and won’t specify it any further. He just doesn’t really care.

Vere:

- Same as Ais, doesn’t see the point of restricting himself because of some labels that humans came up with to categorize each other. Would definitely use labels to mess with people tho. He‘d say he’s bisexual one day and when someone else asks he refers to himself as pansexual to cause confusion. Probably evades the whole question by simply turning the conversation into some sort of flirt; "Why do you want to know? Curious to see if you could warm my bed? How utterly desperate~"

Kuras:

- Since Kuras is an angel, I don’t believe he would care about labels either. It‘s a very human construct caused by restrictive social norms that are used to people into boxes and limit their identities. He understands that it’s easier for people to identify themselves and to perhaps find other people who are alike and relatable, but hasn’t really given it a thought. He has other things to worry about. If asked, he would label himself as Pansexual, to make it easier for someone else to identify him and because he doesn’t have any preferences when it comes to a partner.

Mhin:

- I think it’s pretty clear that Mhin is either non-binary or agender, although I don’t think that they really care for the label in itself. As long as someone doesn’t refer to them as a woman or a man they don’t mind. Not sure if they’d be fine with gendered terms (e.g boyfriend/girlfriend). I know that some non-binary people don’t mind, but Mhin will absolutely fight you if you do. Non gendered terms like "partner" are more appreciated by them. Doesn’t mind the occasional slip up, but definitely gets pissed when they notice someone excessively use gendered terms for them. As for their sexuality, I think they might identify with the bisexual label with a small preference for men.

Leander:

- And finally for Leander, I think he‘d also refer to himself as a bisexual with fluctuating preferences. Practically just sleeps with whoever he wants and doesn’t really care, as long as they’re cute. Man does not beat the bisexuals sleeping around allegations 💀

I don't 100% know how to articulate what I'm feeling but I can't get over how Kuras' introduction completely reverses the roles. For example...

Ais: "With his borrowed, unnerving abilities, Ais seems capable of curing you...[c]an you save each other, or will he drag you down into the abyss with him?"

Mhin: "...Mhin has come to Eridia in hopes of finding a cure, but they’ve hit a dead end. If you work together, you might be able to find answers, but can you trust someone just as desperate for salvation as you?"

Vere: "...Vere makes it clear that he’s powerful—and curious—enough to vanquish your curse...[c]an he be trusted, or does he simply enjoy playing with his food?"

Leander: "Leander’s magic can’t cure you, but the sense of normalcy he offers is a luxury you’ve never experienced. He’s determined to save you and asks for nothing in return, but could he be too good to be true?"

The common thread between all of these introductions is that they can save you. Even in the case of Leander, who doesn't pre-possess some way of curing you or start with any leads like the others do, you are still the focal point. You almost have to earn their help, or at least entrust something to them in order to get what you're looking for.

But Kuras is a little different.

His introductions states, "He could find a cure for you, but his shadowy past also puts you in mortal danger. Can you redeem him, or are you the final entry in a long list of tragedies?" Now, granted, it does mention that he could also save you. However, I'd like to note that this is a little more vague than the others. Compared to the way the other characters' introductions focus on how, exactly, they can save you, Kuras' introduction almost throws this in as an afterthought. The focus on his whole paragraph is on what he's done. The other's are shown with why they could possibly save you; Kuras is shown with why he cannot save you.

More importantly, though, is the final sentence in each of these introductions. They all are asking if you can trust or believe the LI, but trust them to do what? Save you. Even then, that's the underlying goal, is your salvation. But for Kuras, the main question is not if he can save you - it's if you can save him.

He flips the script on you from the beginning. It's ironic that with his occupation as a doctor, he's the one that seems most reticent to be involved with you at all, especially since he's saved you once already, and it's strange with his past as an angel that he's the one obvious about needing to be saved rather than doing the saving. You could almost call it selfish.

Now, does this mean anything? Maybe not! Maybe I'm reading too into it and they just really wanted to lean into the Catholic guilt vibes. If this does mean something, I don't have any idea what they could be, either. BUT it's something that has been on my mind since I first went through the information on the Kickstarter.

For someone who is perceived as the most responsible LI, why is he making you responsible for him?

For an angel seeking repentance, why is he not saving others? Why is he looking for someone to save him? What does he need saved from that the Allmother's forgiveness cannot provide?

What will you have to sacrifice to save him?

𝘼/𝙉 The favoritism maybe came out🫣. I love this man, okay? I mean, half the cast surprisingly got me in a chokehold, that’s a first, but I latched onto Kuras first when I saw this initially. He’s gorgeous. But finally I’m done!!

— Kuras is an omega that acts like a beta, but is built like a damn alpha.

— Not open about his status because I feel like no one asks, therefore when it’s revealed he’s like: “It simply never came up in conversation!🙂” If they do, I see he finds a way to not answer lmao.

— Many of course respect him because he’s a good doctor who does not charge, but he’s also 6’6… Who tf would want to start beef with the man who fixes your bones, and looks like he can break yours?

— If ever in contact with an aggressive person, he doesn’t feed into it (because he knows he can easily squash them like a bug). Overall, he won’t push, but won’t obey either.

— Some think he’s a beta since his scent isn’t so over powering or typically sweet, and overall he appears to be docile. He’s a doctor! He’s gotta be caring!

— Kuras smells of herbs, and others. His real scent is just covered, but it does get stronger during heats or when his emotions are high.

— Gets onto Mhin about repressing his omegan needs, but he in turn doesn’t practice what he preaches.

— His urges are seemingly low, and he’s scented Mhin twice, once directly, and the other on their cloak. And of course lets Leander scent him (and vise versa) whenever, knowing that it’s something he needs.

— Kuras doesn’t really need to eat, nor sleep, and he’s a busy man. And to take in account of his guilt… Kuras believes he does not deserve such luxuries.

— Trying to break that mindset is hard, Kuras managing to run circles around you and get you to let it go, or you two get interrupted. Only once he’s lost his temper. There you truly see how repressed he is.

— Kuras lets himself have heats, but overall his heats are irregular and can be pretty painful. He skips town and disguises it as collecting supplies for his clinic (which isn’t completely a lie).

— This man… Does not know how to make a nest. It’s kinda sad. When you ask him where his nest was, he just pointed at a chair, his reading chair. You’re honestly not sure if you want to laugh or cry.

“The bed is mainly there for show. And Mhin, or any other guest I happen to have. I do not need to sleep.”

— Thus this leads to you helping him out, now he actually uses the bed. He keeps his nest simple, not wanting it to be cluttered.

How the TS gang feels about Kuras

Asking about Kuras.

You follow Ais.

MC: I didn’t know that you and Kuras were friends.

Ais: In a way. I help him in the clinic sometimes. Doctor doesn’t let most people closer than arm’s length.

MC: And you do?

Ais: Heart’s on my sleeve.

               Get the sense Kuras was like that in the past. Must’ve been burned.

He trails off after the last few words. Then shrugs.

Ais: He opens up in his own ways, if he’s relaxed enough.

MC: I don’t know how to even imagine that.

Ais: You’d be surprised. Even the doctor has an endearing side.

I can’t decide what’s more intriguing: the fact that Kuras has an “endearing side,” or the idea that Ais has managed to coax it out of him.

Ais: Tell me if you uncover any of his other secrets. I’d kill to know more.

You follow Leander.

MC: Do you and Kuras work together?

Leander: Occasionally. Did the mysterious, competent doctor catch your eye?

MC: He seems like a good person, though it’s hard to believe anyone’s a good person these days.

Leander: That’s Kuras. He works hard to serve the people of Lowtown.

               He’s a miracle worker, even if his beside manner could use some work.

MC: Do you think he might be able to cure my curse?

Leander starts to speak, but pauses to consider me for a moment first.

Leander: …Kuras is good, but he’s only a doctor.

               Besides, unless you’re actively dying he’ll make you wait in line all day like everyone else.

—OPTION SELECT—(Select “He came across as cold”)—

MC: I get the impression he’s a bit cold.

Leander: A doctor with his level of expertise and perfect service? Impossible.

               He never warns you if something’s gonna sting, and he’s stingy with the pain medicine too.

               But at least he treats everyone the same. That’s something I suppose.

You follow Mhin.

MC: You and Kuras seem to get along, though.

The tense lines of Mhin’s features soften.

Mhin: He’s an exception. Few people are willing to help others; fewer when there’s any risk involved. And of them, Kuras is unique.

I have a feeling that Mhin doesn’t smile often. But the curve of their lips, however slight, is unmistakable.

They catch themselves, their expression closing off with a near-audible snap.

Mhin: He’s not the worst. A decent doctor, even if he asks too many questions.

               But nothing is really free here.

MC: Unique is one way to describe his work.

Unconsciously, I grip my stitched arm, where the Soulless severed it. Mhin glances at me almost knowingly.

Mhin: The only one of its kind; not replicable by anyone else. It’s a fitting word.

I wonder what injuries Kuras has healed for Mhin, and whether they know how he does it.

But if they did, I doubt they’d tell me.

You follow Vere.

MC: I wanted to ask you about K—

I regret speaking as soon as I start. Vere’s mentioned Kuras before, though not by name.

His reaction last time was nasty, but I can’t back down now. Not with Vere eyeing me suspiciously.

Vere: About…?

MC: The doctor, Kuras.

I tense, ready for a blowback, but Vere only flicks his hand dismissively.

Vere: Bit of a bore if you ask me, but he’s popular enough.

               You know, on account on his massive…heart.

He winks, as though the stress he placed on “heart” wasn’t already suggestive.

Vere: There’s always a line wrapped around the block for his services. People can’t seem to get enough of his special medicine,

MC: Probably because he doesn’t charge anything.

Vere’s tail gives an impatient twitch.

Vere: Or they’re eager for a little mouth-to-mouth with their pelvic examination, if you get what I mean.

When I grimace, Vere gains wolfishly at me. There’s clearly no point in asking him anything else about Kuras.

The LIs as the 5 Love Languages

Ais – Quality Time

For someone as lonely as Ais there is nothing better than time spent well with a loved one. No matter how your time will be spent - as long as it is in each other’s company no second is wasted. Just because his main love language is quality time it doesn’t mean that the other ones won’t come into play. Ais will make sure to give you everything you need because he wants that so badly - he wants to make your time and his time worth the while. You can count on that.

Leander – Physical Touch

If there is something as clear as day then it is that Leander’s love language is physical touch. The way this man pressed his face into your hand or shivered under your touch of his scars - there is no one who will love the way you touch him like Leander does. No matter if it’s your hands on his skin, hugs or kisses, long cuddle sessions or entirely different sessions. The closer, the better. The less space there is between your bodies, the better. The more built-up heat there is between your physical chemistry, no matter in which way, the better. Leander loves to touch you and be touched and wishes for you to never stop doing that. But I believe there will be no reason for you to, or is there anything more beautiful to do?

Vere – Gifts

Material Bitch. He loves-loves-LOVES it when you get him expensive gifts, like pricey champagne, beautiful trinkets and accessories or high-value art supplies. It doesn’t need to be something everyday, and Vere knows the difference between smothering him in unnecessary gifts and genuine, thoughtful presents. But this man loves his little surprises here and there to ensure that you still know his worth. And he will make sure you won’t forget.

Kuras – Words of Affirmation

Kuras doesn’t talk much and might not even be the person to give many words of affirmation, but when he does, he makes them count. Also he will be the one who finds genuine appreciation in your words, that is for sure. As someone who values discretion as much as honesty, being genuine with the way you feel for him and around him feels like the master key to unlocking his heart in less than a heartbeat. An “I love you” may walk a thousand steps for him, but wearing your heart on your tongue will go a thousand miles for him.

Mhin – Acts of Services

We all know Mhin’s spiel of “I don’t need any help, I can do it on my own “, and even though it may be true, there is something so, so special for them when they see that you go out of your way to show them how much you actually care. Words can be meaningless and forgettable to them, and Mhin is a person of action; to deliver your evidence of love on a silver platter to them will melt this brooding loner’s heart. Independence is wonderful until they realize that you are no threat to it, but an addition to their already existing autonomy. Your help and your acts of services create a liberty of affection they weren’t aware of before. Keep it up, the price is high for this one.

Ais v. Leander: NSFW HCs

Basically I was trying to get into Mhin's head while writing my aismhin fic and was "forced" to ask myself, "How would fucking Leander be different from fucking Ais?" so here are my thoughts.

Or, uh, they're down below the divider. Don't wanna scandalize anyone just passing by. What if you're in public or something?

General position/dynamic

Leander is, generally, a sub. He'll top, sure, but you can still order him around even if you're receiving. You should really top him, though; he can hit all kinds of high notes.

I should clarify, I'm talking about normal Leander here. "Unmasked", fatal-flaw-revealed Leander would want to stake his claim on you, to convince himself that you'll never leave him, to convince you that he is the only person who knows what you need—and he'll use any methods he knows to keep you under him as long as it takes to do that 😇

Ais is more solidly vers and switch-y. I think he probably leans slightly dom/top, but he definitely likes to bottom and he would love for you to prove that you can get him on his knees.

Being lazy

Ais will sometimes be a bit of a pillow princess. He doesn't wanna do anything but lay there and let you do as you like with him. And why shouldn't you treat him like the absolute treasure he is? If you don't I will!!

Leander is NEVER a pillow princess, he is a sex WORKER okay. PILLOW PROLETARIAT. The real reason you tie him up in bed is because otherwise he will spend the whole time trying to make you feel good when you are trying to make him feel good.

Foreplay

Ais does foreplay for himself. He likes the foreplay. If you tell him to get on with the fucking you, he will say no.

He won't say it in so few words, of course: he'll probably accuse you of not being able to handle a little light teasing. Meanwhile it's been 45 minutes and you're either on a razor's edge and willing to do anything if he will just fuck you or begging him to stop because you've cum twice already.

Leander does foreplay for you. You are his little sweetiebear and he wants you to be comfortable and aroused and relaxed and everything. If you tell him to get on with it, he will do exactly as you ask—if you don't, he's willing to indulge you for as long as you like.

I do think Leander likes seeing you get desperate for him. Normally, this isn't enough to stop him from treating you the way you want to be treated. But push him, and he might just make you cry, until you beg for him and only him.

Why fuck you, even?

For Ais it's about pleasure. He feels good, he's making you feel good: he likes that. Easy.

He would never admit it, but for Leander it's about control. I think he enjoys manipulating your pleasure, and he likes that you can do the same to him. Maybe he even believes he'll have stronger sway over you because you've slept with each other.

How they treat sex / how you'll feel

Ais thinks sex isn't a huge deal. It's fun, it feels nice, you get that workout feeling afterwards. But when he's fucking you, guaranteed, you'll feel like you're the only one. You'll feel valued. You'll feel seen. You'll be asking "What are we", and he's gonna be like, "What," cos he's putting his shoes on to leave and thinking about what he's gonna bring Princess as her little weekly treat.

He'd definitely fuck people again if he liked the experience, though; he's not the type to have one-night stands just to break hearts. So, if you're good enough in bed, you might have a repeat visitor on your hands, and maybe that'll develop into something more. If it happened to Vere, it can happen to you!

Leander acts like sex isn't a big deal to him, but he's also the type who will ask one-night stands and casual flings on dates because he "really felt a connection". He is truly not built for this modern hookup culture 😞

Kuras is not very good at bowling. his sleeves get in the way. during the last 3 frames he FINALLY takes his coat off (cue audience drooling over his bare arms) and rolls 9 pins/ strike / spare / bonus 7 pins [better streak than Vere, who's averaging 5 pins a frame] [their scores end up tied and Vere is Livid]

Mhin is doing Slightly better than Vere. Fortunately for him, he can and will bicker with Mhin so that's what he does. their insult competition is as fierce as Ais vs Leander bowling (maybe even more so to the unfortunate patrons nearby)

Vere breaks out the "I only play with one type of balls bro" line ~6 minutes in

His fun comes from bowling in increasingly fucked up ways. the bowling alley employees hate him so much because they have to ask him to quit fucking around every 7 minutes. he's broken a LOT of stuff. insert "woah 3 pointer wait where the hoop"

Ais vs Leander bowling: Leander is losing and he is Cheating Hard. after the fifth frame he gives up on bowling and starts a separate secret crusade (sabotage Ais)

his attempts include but are not limited to: poisoning his drink, again; trying to use magic to blast his ball off-course; trying to use magic to keep his pins from falling over; slipperizing the bowling alley floor in hopes Ais will fall down midroll; using magic to boost his OWN bowling abilities; making Ais's bowling ball Extremely Sticky; collapsing a ceiling tile on his head; and summoning some grandma with an unruly tiny dog that doesn't speak common Eridian language in hopes Ais will be distracted (he is)

Ais is fully aware of this and is making a point of not calling him out on it. He will win DESPITE Leander's antics, god damnit.

they tie on the last frame and Leander is overjoyed

Mhin, who finished their sundae and stuck around only to see that they beat Vere [and Kuras] by 2 points, hovers awkwardly until they get their chance to say goodbye to Kuras and Leander so they can Leave

Kuras wants to get back to work asap. unfortunately he let himself have a pretty good time so now hes gotta make up for it by atoning (suffering through work ) extra hard

Vere comes from out back licking blood off the back of his hand. the bowling alley manager is also permanently missing, unrelatedly

Ais and Leander are going to go drink each other under the table at some establishment "with better liquor than the wet wick." as if they weren't already drinking all the beer the bowling alley has. Vere tags along because it's an establishment he actually likes— he's Almost had too much Leander for the day but not enough to keep him from decent food and music

Touchstarved enneagram update (part 1)

And here we go with more enneagram+touchstarved brainrot (two hyperfixations of mine) For those who have no idea what i'm talking about: a system of personality created by George Gurdjieff that explores fixations, trauma, motivations etc, divided by Naranjo, the most recognized author in 3 subtypes (social, self preservation, sexual) for each type (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) 1) Ais My bet: ? 8 (no idea what subtype) 8 in general: "Type Eight represents the archetype of the person who denies weakness and vulnerability by taking refuge in fearlessness, power, and strength. This archetype tends to express instinctual drives in a less inhibited way and to push back on whatever might restrict them. I'm so sorry for turning something sweet into something funny but that ask about teasing Mhin, you said the stand within perfect handholding range it got me thinking.......Mhin who thinks they're within hand holding range but in reality they're a little too far out. Mhin who believes they're sending super obvious signals but it's all near-imperceptible levels of subtle. Mhin who is so frustrated and disappointed in themselves, they can't believe they're stooping to such drastic levels of PDA, yet all they actually did was pick a stray fuzz off the back of your cloak and you didn't even notice. Mhin who insists they've been dropping hints but the hint they're referring to was them watching you intensely from the shadows of the tavern after they explicitly told you they wouldn't be there. Plus, in your defense, that wasn't exactly abnormal behavior back when they didn't like you.

Mhin, as unpracticed and self-sacrificing as they are, is trying their best. Luckily you can still read between the lines, even with signs as small as these <3 (but thats less funny so just. Imagine the learning curve LOL)

Kenna, this is adorably genius... you know, maybe Mhin does deserve a bit of a romcom-style misunderstanding after everything they've been through (or that I imagine they've been through) <3

I just think. Mhin believes they've been practically falling over themself to perform ridiculous levels of PDA to signal that they want your attention, while you're none the wiser or even assume this is regular behavior is so, so funny. Mhin is trapped in some sort of gothic horror romance where even brushing hands is beyond intimate, and you're just acting like this is a regular day in Eridia.

I assume that after you've been with them long enough, you can pick up on the subtle change in their body language. But when you're first together, you have absolutely no clue why they've been so withdrawn (or more withdrawn than usual) until they tell you to your face.

— THE CURSE OF IMMORTALITY. WHAT PRICE DID YOU PAY? WHAT DID YOU ACQUIRE?

It's well known that Zarina has been studying ancient magic and its sources alongside wishing to dive more into the study of Shroud, where monsters have come from. A woman of untamed and unbound ambition with all the required tools was interested in finding the very ground of the abyss if it meant she'll reach her goal of learning what was expected. However, such ambition was evidently the downfall of hers from the throne of influence within Senobium. If there was anyone who could grasp the truths of God's creations and the very basis of life, it would be her... if not for what happened prior.

Let's just cut to the chase before diving into the story: Zarina was born and raised as a human with exceptional magical capabilities since her childhood. She was a genius through and through. However, three years ago, her experiment led her to merge with an Ice Elemental, granting her immortality and turning her into an elemental in the human body, erasing the mind of the elemental living prior as her mind fully dominated the ancient being's mind. She lost her abilities prior to merging with the elemental but gained new abilities where she can control, create and manipulate ice/cold temperatures. She had also sacrificed/lost her 'humanity' and is no longer perceived as a human by monsters or non-humans. However, the Senobium does not see that as a problem since they believe that Zarina's mistake/error simply granted her a minuscule amount of power when - in fact - she succeeded not only in obtaining immortality but also almost a limitless ability when it comes to mana and ice. Thanks to her wit and twisting of information, she remains under the radar as of now, seeking a way to undo what she had done. Currently, Zarina is perceived as an elemental/spirit/monster by characters like Ais, Kuras, Vere, etc. There is no need for inquiries as it's common knowledge for those characters. Judging by how said characters interact as well, Leander and Mhin also know that Zarina isn't... normal.

So what exactly transpired to lead to that outcome?

Zarina Sokolova, as a Senobium sorcerer, was known for her unique and flexible abilities in magic that proved her to be talented in different fields. They said that she could succeed in anything she would put her mind to. She was able to decipher any magic she got her hands on, studying it to the smallest bit and recording it. Personally, she admits that her true talents lay in ancient magic that she wanted to study within Senobium with more tools at her disposal. Thus, she started to delve deeper into the studying of the Shroud and ancient magic, thinking that those who have lived longer than mortals/humans would be able to provide her with information and knowledge that humans would not be able to record or speak of.

The forbidden experiments and studies were conducted within the Senobium; it's not a secret. Zarina, however, decided to dive into something other sorcerers/magicians did not dare to dive into. The very nature itself. Specifically, combination and search for beings within the Shroud who represented elements of nature - Elementals. Judging by the ancient texts she found within Eridia and even from her own home up North, she was capable of connecting the dots and deciding to dedicate herself to finding a way to control ancient powers. Did she search for immortality? No. She sought out a way to control higher entities... specifically, she sought out those entities responsible for three elements: ice, water, and wind. All because she wanted to improve the situation for her family back up North.

In the end, Zarina was able to connect her research of the Shroud and ancient texts to create a ritual to bind and summon an ancient elemental. The problem lay with the fact that the ritual had gone awry due to one of the magicians messing up the proportions (on purpose) of one of the essential materials, which caused the whole ritual and spell to fail... quite explosively so as well. Zarina's personal proportions and magic circle were perfect, but one envious and jealous magician surely ruined everything she had worked so hard for.

For around three weeks, Zarina was not able to showcase any of her powers as a magician. She could not conjure the magic she was used to creating or ever could create. Throughout the days spent outside of Senobium, Zarina concluded that her experiment had turned out to be… rather disastrous, but only for her. 

Through days and weeks, Sokolova was able to conclude many things about the effects the ritual had on her body and what it brought to her. It became evident after a couple of weeks that she was… no longer human. By further inspection, far away from Senobium, she concluded that her ritual had merged her with the elemental she summoned. Instead of binding it to her will to use as a tool/weapon, the ritual’s messed up proportions in materials caused the elemental to merge with the one who summoned it - Zarina Sokolova herself, eating away her humanity and becoming an elemental trapped inside human flesh, retaining the human persona as Zarina’s mind and soul had fully erased the elemental’s neutral existence to bend to her will, denying it control of her own body. 

First of all, her physical capabilities and senses have been largely enhanced. Strength, endurance, reflexes, senses of smell and hearing, eyesight, speed, and more have become above and beyond, which was hard fo there to get used to in the beginning as she needed to learn how to hold back her power and how to process the world in a new, richer sense with her newfound senses. At first, it was quite draining to her mind as it meant needing to learn control over her own body once again. 

Second of all, her regenerative capabilities have been greatly improved without any usage of magic. A wound by soulless healed faster than she could’ve stitched it herself with magic, bringing to attention that her body would stop bleeding and turn to crystal (ice) to ‘heal’ itself around the area where it was mortally wounded. Her blood had become akin to liquid nitrogen that would freeze and harm anything it landed on. Zarina concluded that her blood could potentially be used as a weapon if not stored properly. She learned that it only affects living organisms, which meant that storing her blood in glass or taking it through ordinary means would not melt or destroy the container.  

Third of all, she could use magic, but not in a way she was capable of doing before the failed ritual/experiment. Zarina gained full control over one element: ice. She could create ice out of thin air, manipulate it, shape it, and create semi-sentient summons that would be capable of doing simple tasks given to them or act as her eyes where she would not be able to see. Aside from that, the woman noticed that her usage of magic did not exhaust her as it did 

However, the worst of all was… the scarless body, the survival through what normal humans or even strong monsters would die from, and the loss of humanity. Ambition granted her immortality; the very immortality she attempted to stop Senobium mages from reaching. Currently, Zarina Sokolova is searching for a way to get rid of her immortality alongside her being an elemental, wishing to become a human. However, she does not wish to die. And from what she gathered without Senobium noticing, so far there was nothing that could separate her and the elemental without destroying her. Thus, the search continues, and her curse - the curse of frigid immortality and mighty power - continues to weigh heavily on her shoulders. 

However, certain abilities haven’t been discovered yet by many… After all, would Zarina be such a successful hunter if magic was all she had? However, those abilities would remain hidden beneath the winter snow as of now. The ability to hunt, the ability to lead, the ability to search, the ability to keep track, and the ability to kill.

As of now, Eridia knows that Zarina is capable of many physical activities and missions like hunting down Soulless for money or selling out information, but the majority assumes that her magic has been reduced to one element AND that it is a weak ability since she does not show any talents she did before (in public). And, well, Senobium doesn’t care that she gained physical strength. In their eyes, she lost her value as a “leash holder” and a sorcerer within the garden of knowledge. 

Well, that’s just unfortunate, isn’t it? But no. It’s better for the woman whose fame continues to follow her through the streets of Eridia. Let Senobium underestimate her, let the lowtown continue to suspect her, let the hightown both love and hate her, let Bloodhounds continue to see her as a sorcerer of Senobium - it does not matter. After all, she knows there are no answers for her left in Senobium. Only within Eridia itself.

Alright it is done! I compiled all of the playlists in one post after posting each for better access to find every playlist right away. I really liked making the playlists and graphics for them and trying to go for a mixture of general vibe and fitting lyrics/music for each of them.  I’ve been wanting to break my thoughts down for each of them so I will try it with this post (also I have to apologize for euphemising some adult words and swear words or censoring them because the last time I wrote these out in a post Tumblr decided to straight up hide my post, I didn’t even know this could happen). 

Ais:

For Ais I definitely wanted a good mix of angry (sounding) songs to go with his branding as a violent outcast (like Enter Sandman, Yes Offense, Adrenalize or Jekyll and Hyde). I feel like we might have not seen much of that besides the bar brawl in the demo, but in all of his introduction posts his violent outbursts are pretty much highlighted and I have a feeling we will witness a lot of that even more in the full game. Even if he might appear more calm and slick towards the MC I feel like he got a lot of anger to contain.  Also, I wanted to capture the really weird calamity of him and the Seaspring, and his loneliness with slower and calmer songs (such as Eyes on Fire, Demons of Pain, or Flip). This man is lonely. Real lonely.  Also, since he seems to have an active thing with Vere going on (and a not so active thing with Leander lol) I also wanted to give him some suggestive songs, just the usual stuff (Horns, Gangsta, or Houndin, all in the extended playlist). 

Leander: 

Oh Leander, oh my dear.  I think his playlist encapsules the most variety in theme and sound. I didn’t try to go for a general vibe and more for songs that tend to his personality or habits and / or possible twist.  I firmly believe that Leanders doings with the Bloodhounds do mean good to the people of Lowtown, but I also believe that he loves his work. So much that he over-indulges in that way too often, as an introduction post about him said once. I also think he has fun doing what he does, because he believe is pretty self-righteous and very self-satisfyied with whatever he accomplishes, so I wanted to give him fast rock songs that highlight that and feel like he is a highly-adrenalized guy that has fun smashing in skulls of the rich bitches of Hightown (f.e. Tommy-Gun, Savior, or Snakes).  Also this b*tch is a wh*re. So I gave him some very suggestive songs that are more or less very direct and on the nose (Nasty, Daddy Issues cuz we all got them, Switch).  Then again I wanted to give him songs that tend to the opinions some of the other LIs have about him, like him being fake or too loud or obnoxious (see Fake It, Alpha, Black Mambo).  Continuing this I wanted to also give him some songs about his possible twist, basing them on the theories I have seen on here and I personally have, so I gave him some weird and / or deranged songs (Kill Bill, Devil Saint and Ich tu dir weh). 

Vere: 

I .... actually don’t think I have to explain a lot of these choices. I chose most of those because they are very clearly s*x-songs or heavily-innuendo’ed. Surely, Vere is more than just his flirts but it’s just so prevelant with him that I gave him a lot of such songs (for example I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE, I See Red, Bodies or Lurk). Very classy songs.  But since this guy is the only one who actually had the balls to snap our neck in the demo and just because he is a savvy b*tch he received a load of bossy, b*tchy songs because that’s what he deserves (like Villain, Daisy, BRAND NEW B!TCH or you should see me in a crown).  I think everything left falls somewhere under those categories or generally fit his vibe pretty well. 

Mhin: 

Mhin was more difficult than the rest so far. I definitely went with my gut feeling for a lot of these songs, since I feel like we don’t know them enough so far.  I knew I wanted songs that deal with their struggle of (probably) their curse and / or their inner monster (such as Monster, Dark Storms and My Demons). Then other songs were just supposed to go with their vibe I got from them, something quick, something slow, something melancholic, but everything kind of tied to being together and getting through something together (or alone, respectively). And since I believe that we will proceed in-game by working together with Mhin to go for a cure for their curse as well I wanted to highlight that (see Undisclosed Desires, My Blood, Run)!

Kuras:

Kuras was the hardest for me! Maybe other users don’t find it so hard to go with a good vibe for a playlist for him (or maybe I just don’t have a particularly distinct taste in music that would fit him super well), but I wanted to focus on his surreal serenity first and foremost (see songs such as Innerlight, Be With You or Bad Lovers Suite). I also wanted to give him songs that deal with his moral struggle, as soon as I am able to tell, and also decided on a handful for that topic (like Gold, Terrified and Cocoa Hooves). I don’t think I can say a lot about his playlist, since his is the shortest I did so far and I am struggling to expand on this one in particular, so if anybody has ideas and suggestions I am very open to add them to his playlist!!! Also you might notice that there are a few songs appearing in some playlists that also appear in other playlists, like I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE appears in Ais’s and Vere’s playlist, DEVIL appears in Ais’s and Leander’s playlist, Trust In Me in Kuras’s and Mhin’s playlist, and so on. I wanted to give some of them songs that connects the two of them to each other or highlight their bond or general relationship these two have. Perhaps you can find them all while listening? :3 Okay so that was my massive thing :DD  As previously said I hope I can upload another thing on Tuesday evening but the closer this deadline gets the more unlikely it feels to actually hit that :( Anyway, as always, suggestions are appreciated and I hope you liked the playlists and graphics and all!!
