The Saint: The Rough Diamonds (2.10, ITC, 1963)
"They knew an awful lot about the movements of that van. In fact, it looks to me like an inside job."
"What do you think, Mr. Uttershaw?"
"I've no idea."
"Who knew about the shipment?"
"Well, our distributors, Ourley-Linnet; the airline company, the armoured security service... I think that's about all."
"And the insurers, of course."
"Oh yes, of course."
"And you."
"Inspector, I may have been on the plane but I can assure you I had absolutely nothing to do with this."
"A state of affairs which will continue indefinitely - I hope."

Jemma Hyde is quite lovely and gets a little more character work as the Saintly love interest of the week; she was the#daughter of actors Hazel Terry and Geoffrey Keen‚ and was about half way through her all too brief acting career at this point (she'd#retired by the end of the decade). Ray Austin's presence once again means the fight scenes are very rough and tumble#including Simon throwing a man (kind of accidentally?) to his death‚ an act that of course has zero repercussions

Oct. 25 (UPI) -- The man who sold a gun to a British national who used it to hold four people hostage at a Texas synagogue in January was sentenced to nearly eight years' imprisonment, federal prosecutors said.
Chief U.S. District Judge David Godbey of the Northern District of Texas sentenced 33-year-old Henry "Michael" Dwight Williams to 95 months on Monday after he pleaded guilty in June to being a felon in possession of a firearm, the Justice Department said in a statement.
Prosecutors indicted Williams early this year, accusing him of selling Malik Faisal Akram a semiautomatic pistol two days before he used it to take four people hostage on Jan. 15 at Congregation Beth Israel, a synagogue in Colleyville, which is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Akram was killed by law enforcement following a 11-hour standoff with police.
RELATEDMexican gunmen sentenced to life for killing U.S. consulate employee, 2 others
None of the hostages were harmed during the standoff, with one being released by Akram and the other three being rescued by police.
The pistol was retrieved from the scene by agents, and the FBI determined that Williams had sold it to Akram after reviewing the slain hostage-taker's phone records, which showed that the two had repeated phone calls days earlier.
Police arrested Williams on Jan. 24 on an outstanding state warrant, and when presented with a picture of Akram he confessed to having sold him a handgun on Jan. 13 at a South Dallas intersection.

"This defendant, a convicted felon, had no business carrying -- much less buying and selling -- firearms," U.S. Attorney Chad Meacham said in a statement. "Whether he suspected his buyer would use the gun to menace a community of faith is legally irrelevant: In the U.S., convicted felons cannot possess firearms."
Williams was previously convicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted possession of a controlled substance.

'Shocking': Men were strangers before one was allegedly fatally thrown over balcony
By Adam Vidler, Savannah Meacham, 5:57pm Oct 2, 2023
Tumblr media
A man is in police custody facing a murder charge after he allegedly threw a 74-year-old man from a first-floor balcony in an "unprovoked attack" in Brisbane's south.
Michael Thomas Chesworth was at his Yeronga home with his wife when he heard a knock at the door about 1.40pm yesterday.
Police have alleged a stranger, 49-year-old Raymond John Binge, was at the door.
Tumblr media
Michael Chesworth was allegedly thrown from his Yeronga balcony. (Facebook)
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham alleged Binge had been going aggressively "door to door" seeking certain items from people.
One line of inquiry is that he was seeking cigarettes but officers are still investigating.
Police said that a disagreement then occurred between Chesworth and Binge.
"During the course of that disagreement, we allege the 49-year-old man physically picked up the deceased and threw him over the railing," Massingham said.
Officers say Chesworth fell around 3.5 metres and suffered critical head injuries.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but couldn't be saved.
"His partner is devastated, she is with us at the moment," Massingham said.

Binge was allegedly found inside a nearby unit by officers.
Police said the two men were not known to each other and that Binge was an associate of someone who lives at the unit block.
Neighbours have been left shocked by the incident.
"He was just in recession for nine months treatment of lung cancer," one neighbour said.
"Shocking, shocking."
"This is horrendously tragic and confronting," Massingham said.
Binge didn't appear in court when his matter was heard today.
His case has been adjourned ahead of a bail application scheduled for next month.

Longest’s Health Policymaking in the United States 7th Edition by Michael R. Meacham, ISBN-13: 978-1640552111 [PDF eBook eTextbook] Publisher: ‎ AUPHA/HAP Book; Seventh edition (December 12, 2020) Language: ‎ English 550 pages ISBN-10: ‎ 1640552111 ISBN-13: ‎ 978-1640552111 Future healthcare leaders: Do you have an obligation to serve the common good? If your answer to this ethical question is yes, then you need a working knowledge of health policy. An understanding of how policy decisions are made gives healthcare leaders a knowledge base from which they can turn what once appeared to be limitations or obstacles into opportunities to facilitate better access to care, improve the quality of care, and more effectively manage costs. Leaders who have a firm grasp on the policymaking process can advocate for their patients, their organizations, and their communities. This revamped version of the classic textbook originally authored by Beaufort B. Longest, Jr., links policy concepts to practical applications and real healthcare outcomes. It covers formulation, implementation, and modification of health policymaking at both the federal and state levels, while giving readers insight into real-life political results and details of on-the-ground policy decisions. Highlights include: a new chapter on federalism and the role of the states; Policy Snapshots at the beginning of each of the book’s sections that offer brief, true stories of a significant policy event or an opportunity for students to envision their future selves as health advocates; a thoroughly revised and updated chapter on how the courts shape health policy; a rich array of new or updated examples drawn from actual policymaking events, in addition to new graphics and sidebars; updated appendixes reorganized to provide easy access to examples germane to the topic at hand; and an epilogue highlighting federal and state policy challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic of 2020. Let author Michael R. Meacham guide you through health policy as a process. With a background in policy, law, healthcare leadership, and academia, he enables students to understand both the big picture and the small, but important, details. 'Oh My God' - Love Crumbs from The Extended Play Sessions on Vimeo.
The Extended Play Sessions - March 30, 2024
Love Crumbs perform the song "Oh My God" on The Extended Play Sessions. With stories involving triumph and overcoming personal trauma, Love Crumbs holds nothing back – whether sonically or emotionally. Guitarist and songwriter Michael says of performing together: “Creation and the energy around creation is its own reward. Live performance is unlike anything else. Playing music with others is both primal and timeless. It transcends language. It’s a beautiful experience that I wish everyone could have. Almost like another feeling, close to love or happiness.”
The Band: Ali McTavish - vocals Michael Dubuque - acoustic guitar, vocals Alyssa Harrison - vocals, violin John Hoffman - keyboards Gabriel Meacham - bass Ed Kuri - lead guitar Jacob Nunes - drums, vocals
The Fallout Shelter is an all ages 100-seat performance venue and state-of-the-art broadcast and recording studio, offering one of the most unique live music experiences in New England.
