The Path of Motus Review

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“For generations, a village of goblins has been trapped inside a mysterious forest; anyone who attempts to leave returns hopeless and defeated. Determined to break new ground, a young goblin named Motus plans to build a series of bridges through the forest. However, his perseverance will soon be tested, as he meets bullies that use their own words to stop him. Will you find a way through life’s forest, or like others be lost in its depths with no will to continue?”

  The Path of motus is an interesting twist on your regular platform game. It sort of sets a depressing mood that you as the protagonist named Motus is trying to break. The game plays of in a forest filled with broken bridges and negative goblins. The goblins try to bully you with negative words. You start of in Motus’ youth and progress to his adulthood. The dark mood is set by a stunning soundtrack that boosts the eery feeling

All through the game you are faced with different puzzles to rebuild the bridges and dodging negative words from the goblin bullies. They will shoot with a nope and you reply with a yeah. Might sound a bit corny but it lifts the dark mood of the game. The puzzles you solve is fairly simple at the start but can be a real brain twister later on, this helps keeping the game entertaining as you don’t fly through the puzzles. Some of the puzzles took me a good 15 to 30 minutes to solve.

As for the gameplay it is done rather well and performs like a great platformer should. Getting past the bullies is tricky and takes planning and good coordination. At times you also have a female friend to assist you during the game where you will have to switch between 2 characters to navigate the maze and block the bully attacks. This brings another twist to the game as certain goblins can only be destroyed with one or the other characters attack.

The game is also filled with notes that you have to collect to keep on going. From notes left behind by previously failed attempts at peace to messages left by your father. You don’t actually do anything with these notes but they are the quest items you need.

Overall The Path of Motus is an interesting platformer that provides good gaming.
