The damp mist of the dusk in the rearview and surrounded by the seemingly postapocalyptical scenery, the eye searches for the last beams of light that still carry the existance of the creator within. Collective improvisation at the Kunsthaus Hamburg. Over a period of six hours, fragments of personal record boxes, archive recordings and live sounds are gathered. In the complex of many channels, the musicians find points of concentration and moments of rest. Before exhaustion catches up with the body, another person offers to add sounds to the assemblage.

A radio play on looking and listening to water as if for the first time. It’s a description of how we see and understand water now, knowing that the image we deliver might not be valid in the next 20 or even 10 years in the context of political, social and ecological crises.

Concept and production conducted in Lisbon, Portugal. 25th till 30th March 2023.

The Unheimlich Unchestra (Hamburg) follows the phenomena of sound art and the acousmatic. Modular synthesizers, digital sequencers and other intermediary devices process field recordings. The collection is electronically modified in an improvisation. The participants are interchangeable, but never arbitrary in their constellation. The ensemble of the evening consists of Leonie Maltz, Frida Rahne, Michael Dietrich, Phillip Kästle, Nina Gohl, Luisa Bacelar, Theo Huber, Monika Orpik, Charlie Spiegelfeld, Jakob Floess, Nozomi Ngceni, Felix Raeithel (Unheimlich)
