Petualangan Supertabi mencari jati diri

Setiap tahun, CBE mengadakan event yg bernama Family Festival. Ini adalah parade kumpulan keluarga yg mempresentasikan masing-masing project unik keluarga dan juga visi misinya.

Dokumentasi pertama kalinya supertabi ikutan Family Festival (2023)

Kami adalah contoh home team yg masih mencari jati diri tentang core kami. Sebagai ADHDers yg impulsif, saya dan suami punya banyak ide kegiatan.

Mulai dari bangun bisnis keluarga, berkebun, ngompos, bikin produk2 fermentasi seperti yogurt dan kombucha, Home Cafe (cooking class), outing, camping, Fun Math, English time, Book and Tea (Literasi), angkat barbel, olah vokal, sepedaan bareng, renang bareng, ngaji bareng, nonton bareng, menggambar bareng, sampe bobok bareng (halah, yg terakhir pake ditulis sagala wkwk). Pokoknya semua ke-random-an ini kita jalanin bersama :))

Walaupun banyak Family Project yg kami buat, tapi ga semuanya istiqomah.  Setidaknya dgn trial error ini kami jadi lebih mengenal karakter keluarga kami. Macam "oh ini cocok, ini ga cocok. Oh ini digas, ini direm dulu."

Kegiatan yg masih eksis dan konsisten sampe sekarang: bisnis keluarga, Ramadan camp tiap taun (itikaf bareng bocil2 + anak orang), fun math, english time, home cafe (experiment berbagai resep kopi), ngaji bareng.

Kegiatan yg udah berjalan tapi ngerjainnya masih moody-moody-an: Olahraga (angkat barbel, renang, sepedaan), shaum sunnah, side project bisnis (maen microstock), mengelola aset digital (Blog, Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram Supertabi)

Kegiatan yg kami suka banget hasilnya tapi males bikinnya: produk fermentasi, cooking class (baking)

Kegiatan baru mulai dan masih meraba2: Berkebun, komposting, ternak ikan.

Kegiatan literasi cuma cocok utk saya dan Tabina. Tp ga cocok buat suami. Sore2 saya dan anak gadis suka baca buku favorit bareng sambil ngeteh dan dengerin lagu bangsawan misal seriosa :))

Kegiatan crafting cocok buat suami, tabina & babang, tp kurang di saya.

Kegiatan yg saya dan anak2 suka, tapi suami ga mau ikut praktek: Olah Vokal wkwkwk. Btw olah vokal tu bukan karena kita pengen jadi artis atau ikut opera. Tapi karena kami merasa butuh memperbaiki artikulasi dan bukaan rahang. Sangat berguna buat saya praktek tahsin, melafalkan huruf hijaiyah ga boleh miring2. Dan sangat berguna utk Tabina yg tiap presentasi di depan kelas suaranya keciiil, siga chipmunk :)

But it's ok kita tetep lanjutin.

Dari semuanya,

Ada jg project yg hanya berlangsung 1x dan ga bisa diulangin: Hijrah ke Soreang: Beli rumah, renov, bikin desain rumah sendiri dgn software Adobe Illustrator (Saya lupa cara pake Autocad T_T). Ini adalah project ter-epicnya supertabi sih. Penuh pengorbanan dan kesabaran. Tp saya jadi berpikir bisa2 aja diulangin kok. Sering2 aja rombak rumah. Hahaha.

Seiring berjalannya waktu, project2 ini akan terus bertambah, atau mengerucut, sesuai kebutuhan dan keunikan masing2 anggota keluarga kami. Saat ini memang masih random sih, tapi tujuannya memang utk memperkenalkan ragam kegiatan utk anak2 kami. Akan ada waktunya dimana project ini diinisiasi oleh anak, dan mereka sendiri yg menjadi project leadernya. Kami gantian jadi supporter :)

April 24th — Starting Over on Tumblr

hi.. it's been a while..

I honestly thought Tumblr was gone… turns out it's still alive and kickin'. Haha. That’s actually great. So, from now on, I’m dedicating this space as my daily journal. I’ll be pouring everything here—starting today.

Today… I felt so unproductive. Like a total loser wasting time. I don’t know why, but nothing felt quite right or efficient.

Let’s break down what I actually did:

Made 1 affiliate video (I wish I could’ve done more… definitely aiming for more next time)

Created a YouTube tutorial

Uploaded around 5 stock photo assets

Next up:

I’m going to work on new assets for my microstock portfolio

Prep some visuals for tonight’s live drawing session

Edit a YouTube Shorts video for tomorrow

Fingers crossed I can start posting 4x a day soon—gotta hit that monetization goal faster. I really need the money, and honestly… I want to be rich. For real.

ChatGPT is the istockphoto of the 2020's

Back in the early 2000's, another big tech boom in graphic assets happened: istock. istock democratized stock photography and basically gave birth to the business of microstock photography.

Stock photography is basically business of having a bunch of neutral-but professional-grade photos on hand for use in advertising, marketing and what have you.

Prior to istock, stock photos were only available in expensive collections. Originally you had to subscribe to a physical, dead-tree catalog of them, and you had to pay an expensive license to use each one. Later on you had to purchase whole disks full of them (CD's, then DVD's). The licensing terms changed but it was still expensive to buy those disks. Both of these were pricey options, ensuring that only graphic designs firms with some cash and confidence in their utility would get them.

istock changed that. They put their collection of stock photos online and made it very easy for photographers to add their own items to their catalog. Suddenly a huge range of professional-looking photos were available to everyone for a low price. (This also killed the fortunes of many photographers who relied on the older, more expensive licensing terms for their livelihoods, alas.)

Oooh! You didn't have to hire a fancy graphic design firm, or a professional photographer, to get good photos now! Just go to istock and download as many as you want for a few bucks a pop!

This means that every ad in the world will now look PROFESSIONAL AND POLISHED now, right? Right?

No, not at all. Stock photos were overused like 90's clipart, with the same results.

By the mid-2000's, "that looks like stock photography" became a very widely recognized, derogatory term. People with just a passing familiarity with advertising or websites could casually pick out the thing that was pieced together with polished-but-generic stock photos. The print ad, website or packaging art with a bunch of non-specific photo assets could and would be picked out and mocked by somethingawful goons, fark forums and ebaumsworld commenters. It took like 3 years for what was once a mark of quality to become tawdry cliche.

This doesn't mean that stock photography stopped existing. It's still in use, and low-grade marketing assets still get cobbled together out of nothing but stock photography. Major ad campaigns and package designers still use it as filler and background material for professionally created assets.

This is where AI assets are headed for. They're the next iteration of stock photography. You can make graphic assets with a certain amount of polish and some customization, if you're careful. Instead of browsing through pages of istock Generic Photo Of (your ethnicity here) Model, you can specific Generic Generated Image Of (your ethnicity here) Model Holding Your Product. Just make sure you crop out the seven-fingered hands and the impossible background perspective.
