Sing it with me now;
Children don’t exist to please their parents 👏 👏
It’s not on them to fix your broken dreams 👏 👏
If you want to have a child but your marriage is in shambles,
Don’t rely on them to fix it please 👏 👏
Just a little diddy inspired by way too many shitty BL parents. There are oh-so-many to choose from however my main source of contempt today comes to you courtesy of Zee and Sprite’s parents in Twins and Babe’s father in Pit Babe.
Then of course there’s the ever-present loathing I have for Uea’s mother from Bed Friend (which I’m reminded of only as a result of having watched the latest ep of Middleman’s Love today).

You have no idea how much I need everyone to understand that Jade is actually this oblivious in the books too. It takes him forever to even recognize his own feelings for Mai, much less him realizing that Mai likes him back.

A few thoughts on Middleman’s Love
Mai’s love toward Jade is, not only, one-sided, but, also one-way.
Mai, constantly, does nice, kind, generous-spirited, thoughtful things for Jade, but aside from inviting Mai to eat with everyone, Jade does very little for Mai.
Jade is heedless of, and ignorant to, others’ feelings, has an impetuous, abrasive, clumsy, annoying, albeit, upbeat, positive personality, while Mai is quiet, laid-back, thoughtful, and has a very giving personality.
I suppose someone like Mai could, conceivably, fall in love with someone like Jade; after all, they say— there’s someone for everyone—but, it feels like, unless Mai is a masochist, there’s not, really, much to explain his deep feelings for Jade.
How could Jade be so blind to Mai’s feelings for all this time? And how could he not have formed some feelings for Mai up until now? Even after finding out how Mai feels about him, after Mai bravely confesses to him, Jade can’t even get a full sentence out to express something in return—anything in return, whether pro or con.
Tutor Koraphat is a gorgeous guy, with a capable acting ability, but having to play his wonderful character off of Yim Pharinyakorn’s, is just becoming too frustrating to watch and I’m losing patience with Yim’s character, look, and acting. Jade’s just so silly, goofy, and overplayed.
I hate to give up watching, because of Jade. I’m waiting to see what develops between (real life?) couple, Leo & Tai’s characters: Tong & Gus. And I still want to be able to look at James & Net. I was really hoping they would have more of a side story.
And I don’t want to give up on seeing Tutor, although, I feel he got the short end of the stick. Sadly.
This series could have been SO much better, and should have been! It spun off of a really wonderful series!

I love The Middleman’s Love
I love how energetic and clueless Jade is, how over the moon daydreamy Mai is, how Jade’s family is just as over the top as he is. I love how Uea low key gave Mai a shovel talk 😅🤣 and his not so low key “Jade…I love you you idiot” look at karaoke
It’s not my normal show - but I think because it knows how outrageous it is, I just find it endearing. The self awareness of it is what makes it work for me.

I would like to thank not only God, but also Jesus for the secondary couple in Middleman’s Love for giving us a storyline worth watching in this weird ass show
